It was my first convention. I was excited of course. We arrived for the first day of Minecon. We went and got a seat in the middle right of the huge audience. I was amazed of how many people were there. I fixed my costume and didn't sit down because I was proud to wear it. There were 3 big screens. I looked and saw lots of kids my age and under dancing up at the front.my brother was like "Come on! Let's go dance!" And I agreed and I went up there. The man with the live stream camera (And camera that was on the big screen) pointed it at me and m brother, so I hugged him and I heard some people go "Awww." And I kept hugging him until the camera changed. Then after that one of my favorite You-Tubers came up to us (@bebopvox) and he recorded everyone dancing. I looked at my bro, BeBop like 3 feet in front of us, and said "BRO BEBOP VOX IS RIGHT THERE. HE IS RIGHT THERE!" After that the opening ceremony was starting, so we went to our seats. I still stood and watched. Lydia started to talk about the Costume Contest. I smiled and listened. She said, "You must be specially invited to the costume contest. We have many spies out and about looking for awesome costumes!" I looked to my dad and said "I hope I make it in. I BETTER MAKE IT IN!" And we left to go have fun. I was on the lookout for my Minecraft friend. He told me he was going as well. Someone came up to me and said, "Hey do you recognize me?" And I was like "Noooooo- ALGO!" (his Minecraft name is Algorythm44) and he laughed and said "Yeah... It's me..." And so we went on. I thought my friend would follow me, but he got lost in the huge crowd. We looked around. It'd been a while. We'd are lunch and went to some panels. We were worried because I hadn't been picked for the costume contest yet. We the were heading back in and saw C418 (Made Minecraft music and sounds) and other Mojang employees. We went to talk to them. We told them I hadn't been picked yet. They must have felt bad for me. They took a picture o me and texted it to Lydia. She then ran up to me 5 or so min later with an invitation card. I was happy yet nervous. I was excited that I was in the contest. I was nervous because I knew millions of people would be watching the live stream. I had to go to the stage 30 min early before the contest started. It was 10 minutes before I had to get there so I went on. I got in line in my section (There were 3 sections of costumes; Groups, Mobs, and player skins.) I was 4th in line. I talked to the chicken an witch in front of me (1 and 3 in line) they were nervous as well. Lydia went over to our group in the front of the line. She smiled, "Are you guys ready?" I was shy. I had butterflies in my stomach, but I spoke up, "I'm a little nervous, but I've made a few speeches at a college before." "Oh, your ready then." Lydia told me, then walked away. It made me feel a little more confident that she told me I was ready. I looked to the stage and shook my head. "I can do this. I can do this," I thought. Then I looked to my right, where I entered the room. There was a man who worked for Mojang that I saw earlier running. When he got near me he came to a stop and handed me an invitation card. I rejected it. He the said, "Dinnerbone told me to give you this. He wants you to get up there on stage!" I told him thanks, but I had already gotten one. He said, "Right, do good!" And ran off. I looked back towards my new friends. I realized what the man had said. Dinnerbone wanted me up there? No way. (Incase you don't know, Dinnerbone is like the top 3rd developer of Minecraft.) All my nervousness went away. I smiled a huge smile and looked towards the seats in the audience. Parents and family were in the front. My dad looked at me and I jumped up and down. He didn't know why but he took a picture of me. It was time to start the contest. I wasn't nervous. Not one bit. Once it was my turn, I went up there and threw my home-made pork chop off the stage. It landed in the front row. That made me a bit embarrassed but you couldn't tell where or how far it went on camera. I didn't know that at the time though. The man who caught it gave it back. I threw it again but it still landed at the same man. The man who made all the props for all of the Minecons ever said my costume was really creative. He also worked on over 300 movie props. The Terminator is one he worked on. That made me happy. I then left the stage. Before I had gone on that stage I had been the shyest person ever. I walked off of it no longer shy. Thanks Dinnerbone. Thanks for inspiring me. I'm no longer shy. I'm no longer the girl that's quiet during class. I'm really thankful for Dinnerbone inspiring me to not be afraid of being in front of millions of people. (16 million people were watching, not including the audience actually there.) Being on stage broke my biggest fear. I really needed to get over that fear. So thanks to EVERYONE from Mojang that loved my costume and supported me. I can't thank you guys enough for making my dreams come true. Thanks for the best weekend of my life.
