"I'm going to go steal some diamonds" Daddy told us, and then he walked out of the safety of our cave. My brother, my mom and I listened to him walk away. We waited to hear a door open, then close, then daddy come back with a couple diamonds, and maybe a peice of steak for me. My favourite. Steak.
Only we didn't hear it.
We heard sss. Sss. Screech. And then only two feet walking away. Mommy burst into tears instantly and I realized what was wrong.
Daddy was not coming back. Steve had killed him. We all did not sleep that night.
Ever since then I have asked mom to give me exploding lessons, but she's not very good at it. She always seems to just stare at the stone walls of our home when she does them. I sometimes crawl into bed with her and cuddle with her and she puts her two front legs around me and we sleep together. I think she misses daddy as much as i do. I still do not get steak.
But I have plans. BIG plans. One day, when I'm old enough, I will go out of this cave and to Steve's house. I will take everything he has. Then i will destroy his house.
I WILL avenge my father's death.
