Like many, many, many, all users on the Fan Art forums, I too have a theory of the Minecraft Story. Ain't I unique.
Steve was a somewhat poor man living in Minecraftia. Despite this, he was quite talented. He had survival skills, could build with ease, could make machines using only redstone instead of real wire, could mine, and craft objects with little resources. He wondered if his ancestors had his talent. Steve never remembered anyone in his family but his parents. No uncles, aunts, cousins, brothers, sisters, grandparents, ect. He then decided to research his family tree, which lead him to his most famous relative, who lived as far back as the medieval ages. The legend in a nut shell read:
Long ago, Minecraftia was ruled by king Notch. Then, Minecraftia was but a kingdom, not a country. The outskirts of the kingdom were covered in monsters like spiders and creepers. When a peasant dies, it is said that their corpses become zombies and skeletons. Of the peasants, there was one who stood out: Herobrine. Herobrine was the brother of Notch, but he was demoted to a peasant for being a trouble maker. He spent most of his days in the mines, he hated his progress and repeatedly started over and over on his mines, leaving tons of abandoned mineshafts all across the land. He also, like Steve, was crafty with redstone. Once, he combined his two skills to drill people's houses into the ground. Over time, these houses became dungeons, and zombies and skeletons colonized in them. Notch was furious. He told Herobrine that if he does one more prank, he'd be banished to the unknown. Herobrine didn't take kindly to this either. He, hating the way he was treated, built an underground portal to an alien planet simply know as "The End". There, a race of Endermen ruled by a dragon reside. Herobrine took some endermen to Minecraftia, and used their power to possess the skeletons, zombies, creepers, and spiders to help them with their plan. Herobrine ordered the mobs to destroy the kingdom, and take the castle underground. (What is left of the castles are thought to be strongholds.) Notch then banished his brother to the Nether. Herobrine, as he was being banished, attacked his brother, causing him to lose power. Notch, now low on godly powers, tries to destroy the mobs before his demise. All he could do, though, is make skeletons and zombies burn when in contact with the sun. In the Nether, Herobrine gains his brother's power. Though, he would use it for evil, thus the energy left an unexplainable mark: white, blank eyes.
A couple of days later, Steve volunteered for a science experiment: cloning humans. Once the experiment started, and Steve was about to be cloned, a strange error happened. Instead of cloning people, it summoned the clone-ee's dark side. Steve's dark side, however, happened to be Herobrine.
Herobrine destroyed the entire world. Yeah, no beating around the bush, EVERYONE DIES. Herobrine summoned the monsters from years ago, and some, however, were what are now Villagers and Witches. They started civilizations in an hours worth. These villagers wanted to remake the world, and were fast at it. Herobrine wasn't going to have this. He commanded the zombies to invade the villages every night.
All hope was lost. Everyone is dead.
Everyone, except for Steve. Steve was Herobrine's good side. As long as Herobrine was alive, Steve was. Herobrine fled back to the End, telling the enderdragon to plan an invasion. First, they sent out armies of Endermen to Minecraftia. Next, the enderdragon would wait for Herobrine to take it with him to Minecraftia, so it could kill Steve.
Unless Steve could slay the dragon, along with it's backup, the Wither in their own respective homes, where they least expected it.
Thus Minecraft begins.
