Hey guys, this is just a little make-it-up-as-I-go kind of story I'm going to make. Feel free to criticize and post your suggestions in the comments.I kind of don't know how to make spoilers, (I'm a bit of a forum noob ) but theirs not much done yet, so here you go:
EDIT: Sorry about not using indents, tab won't work and using spaces goes away after I edit, so I'll just separate the paragraph by lines.
PROLOGUE: Waking Up
My head throbbed. It felt like I was lying on sand, and the swaying of the trees suggested I was outside. I slowly willed my eyes open, and found that I was on a beach with no noticeable civilization around me.
I pulled myself into a sit, and thats when it hit me. I had no recollection of who I was, what I was doing here and how I got here. I got up, and noticed a rather tame pig staring at me.
I got up to stretch my aching legs, and decided to get a better view of myself and the environment. I was wearing a gray shirt and off-black pants. Everything seemed to have this cubic and digital look to it, the ground was flat and even my hands were cubed. I started to freak out, but brushed it off as some whack hallucination.
I was standing on a rather small beach between an ocean I couldn't see the end of, and a forest that I could only see the beginning of.
There was a brown backpack lying a few feet away from me, so I decided to go pick it up. The backpack felt unusually light, and made to noise when I moved it, so I assumed it was empty and put it on, moving towards the forest.
CHAPTER I: The First Day
My stomach did a small flip when I entered the forest, it was unusually quiet, save for my footsteps and the occasional rustle of the wind going through the trees. I heard a low growl and then a squeal ahead, and leaned around a tree.
A wolf was attacking a sheep, biting it in the leg until it could no longer move then going for its throat. I tucked my head back behind the rough bark of the tree, as the sheep made its final dying squeal.
After a few moments. I poked my head back around the tree. The sheep was gone! There was a small cube of floating white wool bobbing just above the flat ground. Something was really wrong, I waited for the wolf to walk away then I sneaked up to inspect the wool. When I was a little bit less that one of these cubes away, (which I figured to be 1 meter, compared to my own body size) the cube of wool shot into my hand. Surprise overtook me, and I fell backwards into the grass, and when my hand that had the wool in it hit the block next to me, it instantly turned into a large cubic block, just like the grass.
I got up, confused. I touched the wool, and a small crack appeared in it. After a small moment, the crack resealed itself back up. I tapped the wool in succession, and the cracks got larger until the wool popped back into it's small, floating form.
I backed away, unsure what to make of it. Maybe I could store the wool in the backpack. I let the wool shoot back into by hand, and opened my backpack.
There were a bunch of empty square outlines lining the inside of the backpack. Confused, I put the wool on the one of of these spaces, and the wool was sucked into it, turning 2D.
I also noticed that there was what looked like a belt and an apple, I touched the image of the belt, and it popped out into my hand, still in minuscule size. How was I supposed to put this on? I tried stretching it, 'placing' it and throwing it down then letting it be sucked into my hand again, but nothing worked. Until, I had this idea of toughing it against me waist. When I did, it instantly formed the full-sized thing around me, in a size that fit me perfectly.
The belt also had those square outlines on them, but only 8 of them in a row.
I decided to find out if I could break other things, so I started punching at the ground. The cracks appeared, similar to the wool, until the block gave out, and a small cube of dirt popped out and started bobbing up and down.
This block too, unsurprisingly, shot into my hand. I touched it off one of the slots in my belt, and it got sucked into it, turning 2D not unlike the wool.
Next, I tried a tree. The cracks appeared in the same meter-long measurements as everything else, but when the block gave out, the rest of the tree above it stayed afloat. As I examined this wood trunk block, I noticed it to be stretchy. Since there was literal ton of wood around, I decided to check and see in I could break the wood. The wood stretched almost effortlessly, and then it broke into four cubic squares of wooden planks. Confused, I tried to put the planks back together and a totally new block that appeared to have a saw and hammer on the side, with a three by three grid on the top.
It was starting to get slightly dark, I hadn't noticed the position of the blocky sun when I first woke up, so I guess it was evening then. Looking for shelter from any possible hungry wolves or other animals on the prowl, I jumped up and grabbed to to the surprisingly stable cube of loosely packed leaves, and then climbed until I was high enough to see my surroundings better. There was a hill off in the distance, and I decided that early next morning I would go visit it.
CHAPTER II: The First Night
I woke to a thud.
My whole entire left side felt like it was on fire.
I groggily pushed myself up off the ground, and heard a thud behind me head. I turned, the tree behind me had an arrow lodged deep into it's trunk. As if in a dream, I quickly slid behind a tree, taking cover from the direction where the shot was fired. After a few moments of collecting myself from the sleepiness, I found that this weird adrenaline was pumping through my square veins, making me feel like I could take on anything. I stuck my head around the tree, and a humanoid figure wearing what appeared to be a white uniform was standing, bow drawn about ten or so meters away. I quickly revolted back behind the tree, and heard another thud of an arrow burying itself deep into the bark of the tree.
“Hello?!” I called out.
“I'm no threat, I just woke up here last morning!” I shouted, as an afterthought.
All I heard was what sounded like somebody striking an xylophone on a few off notes.
“Look, I'll come out with my hands raised if you want. I don't have any weapons or anything!”
Another few random notes.
“I'll take that as a yes then... Don't fire!” I called as I half stepped out. Thud. Pain shattered through my right arm. I recoiled back behind the tree, hand reaching up to the arrow now lodged inside me.
Surprisingly, it broke off with relative ease, and after a few heavy breathes, the pain subsided. Gathering my strength, I decided I would have to either tackle this man and try to kill him, or I could turn and run towards the dead-end beach. Either way, I'd probably have to fight the guy, so I thought I might try and get it over with.
Gathering my courage, I moved around the corner of the tree and charged. In my rage, it looked like the guy appeared to be wearing a skeleton suit, A shot whizzed by my head, then another. I reached him, and the tackled.
I let out a gasp as we fell into a crater.
Crack!
The 'man' split into a thousand boned that skittered across the ground and I was lying on half of them. Suddenly most of the bones turned into smoke, except one. The bone shot into my hand, and I quickly got up and 'tapped' it into my belt. I looked around, there was no way I was climbing back up. But, I remembered I could punch a staircase. But another idea popped into mind, what if I made a little dug-out in the wall to sleep in? I cautiously walked up to the wall, and tested the break ability of the dirt. Sure enough, it broke with ease. I quickly created a little sleeping hole in the wall, and packed it up so only air could get in.
The dirt was slightly uncomfortable, but I really needed the sleep to get my thoughts together and decide what to do from here on in. I closed my eyes, and soon forgot everything else.
CHAPTER III: The First Exploration To be continued...
You have a number of problems in the writing, grammar, spelling, and so on, but overall, I think the story is okay, possibly only mediocre. The plot you have is fairly dull, as it's the generic wake up on sand, find out danger and blocks and all that. However, the way you approach the detail of the inventory is interesting. It's most likely not the most original, but you described it well. I enjoyed that part.
