Chapter 1:
Journey into Minecraft
By austin5141 CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION TO MINECRAFT
Cool. My virtual reality helmet came in the mail. As I walk downstairs, and go outside. I take my steps down the porch. I slip open the mailbox. I pull it out. “So, how do I work this thing? Plug it into the computer and then open the game that I want, and put it on my head?” I ask myself. “Austin, you have to come downstairs to eat!” My mother says. “One minute!” I yell downstairs. “I need to test out my new machine!” I say. I plug it into the computer. I open up Minecraft, and put the helmet on. “Huh?” I ask myself. I suddenly appear in the game. “So, how do I play?” I ask myself. I jump onto a block, and punch a tree. It falls apart. “Huh?” I ask myself. “How does this work?” I ask myself. “Oh, right…” I say. “My mom wants me for dinner.” I say. I open up the menu screen by waving my arm in the air, and I get zapped into the real world again. I take my helmet off and walk downstairs. “So, does your helmet work?” My mom asks. “Yes,” I say. “In fact, it works perfectly.” I say. “I just don’t know how to play Minecraft. It is my first time playing it.” I finish eating, and go back upstairs. I turn my computer off, and go to sleep. I wake up in the morning, and eat breakfast. I go back upstairs, and open up the minecraft launcher. “New update: the VR update?” I ask myself. “Minecraft 5.0.0…” I say. I look at the changelog. “Hmmmmm… nothing too good…” I say. I open up Minecraft, and put my helmet on. I wave my hand 2 times, and the menu comes up. “Not what I wanted.” I say. I wave my hand 1 time, and my inventory comes up. I put the wood in the crafting section of my inventory, and make wooden planks. “Oh, I see. I need to make a house.” I say. I go to a flat area, and put the wood down.10 minutes later…I am almost done creating my house. I just need to make a door. “How do I make a door?” I ask myself. I put the wood in all 4 squares in my crafting inventory, and it makes a crafting table. I put it on the ground, in the corner of my house. “So, what does a door look like? Something like this…” I say. I put the wooden planks in 2 columns, and it makes a door. “I knew it.” I say. I put the door on the wall, but it doesn’t work. “Skype call!” I say. I open my inventory, and point at the answer button. “Awesome. My friend knows a lot about Minecraft.” I say. “Trent?” I ask. “You need to have a 1x2 block space in the wall.” Trent says. I punch out 2 wood, one on the top, one on the bottom, then put the door down. I open the door, and it works. “It works like a charm.” I say. I walk outside, and look into the sky. “The sun is going down.” I say. “Then stay inside.” Trent says. “And don’t go outside.” I walk back inside, and close the door. NEXT UP: CHAPTER 2: THE NIGHT
Chapter 2:
CHAPTER 2: THE NIGHT
I look outside and see some sort of green monster. “Those are called Creepers,” Trent says. “They follow you and explode when you touch them.” I look the other way. “You are observing the night, I see?” Trent says. “Yes.” I say. “What is that?!” I ask. “Don’t look at it!” Trent says. I already saw its face. He teleports into my house and knocks me out. I fall over in the real world, and my helmet falls off in the real world, trapping me in the game. “A bug…” I say. “Now I am trapped in this game!” I say. “Stupid- what is that called?” I ask. “Endermen.” Trent says. “Stupid Enderman!” I say. “Listen. You need to finish the game.” Trent says. “This game has an ending?” I ask. “Yes.” Trent says. “You must defeat the Ender Dragon.” I say. “How do you get there?! I can finish it right now!” I say. “No, you can’t.” Trent says. “You are not ready.” “What do you mean I am not ready?!” I say. “You don’t even have armor. You don’t even have a sword or a bow.” Trent says. “How can you expect to be ready when you don’t have any of those?” I ask Austin. “There is armor and swords in this game?” I ask Trent. “How do you get a sword?” I ask Trent. “Okay, I will tell you. Put a stick on the bottom, and 2 wooden blocks on the middle and top.” Trent says. I do that. “This looks like it can break easily!” I say. “Well, what did you expect? It is just a wooden sword.” Trent says. “Now that you have a wooden sword, you can go outside, but don’t fight too many mobs at once! If too many mobs are chasing you, then go back to your house.” Trent says. I go outside and stab a zombie. “What is this?” I ask Trent. “Rotten flesh.” Trent says. “It is bad to eat.” Trent says. “I am starving!” I look at my hunger bar. I pick up the rotten flesh and eat it. “Why do I feel so… hungry…? The people who made the VR helmet did a good job with effects.” I say. “Yeah.” Trent says. I stab more zombies, taking the rotten flesh, when my sword breaks. I dash towards my house, and open the door. I punch a zombie away, walk inside, then close the door. “That was close.” I say. I notice another enderman outside. “Nope. Not looking at it.” I say. I shut the door. “What is a sheep doing outside?!” I ask. I punch it and take wool. I notice 2 more sheep. I punch them and take their wool. I go back to my house, craft a bed, and go to sleep. I wake up at daytime. “Up?” Trent asks me. “Yes.” I say. I walk outside. “That was too close last night.” I say. “They really need to fix this bug.” I say. “Really? Mobs make you shake in real life?” I ask. “That’s stupid.” I say. I punch a pig. “Finally, some good food.” I say. I walk back into my house. NEXT UP: CHAPTER 3: MINING
Chapter 3:
CHAPTER 3: MINING
“You should probably make a mine,” Trent says. “But first, you need to make a shovel and a pickaxe. First, put 2 sticks in the crafting inventory, one column up the center. Then, put one wooden plank on top. Then, do the same, except put 3 wooden blocks on the top.” I do that, and walk outside. I go around back, digging the ground with my shovel. I pick up some stone with my pickaxe. I walk back into my house, and attempt to make a stone shovel, pickaxe, and sword. It works. “I think I am getting the hang of this game.” I say. “There are a lot more stuff in the game. You didn’t even try out multiplayer.” Trent says. “I will try it once I get far into the game.” I say. “I bet you couldn’t last 50 seconds in a PVP server.” Trent says. I continue mining. “Woah, what is that?” I ask trent. “You found iron already!” Trent says. “I did?” I ask. “Yes. Mine it with your iron pickaxe.” Trent says. I do what he says, and get some iron ore. “Alright, what do I do with this?” I ask Trent. “Put cobblestone all around your crafting table.” Trent says. It makes a furnace. “You need coal, or charcoal.” Trent says. “Just put wood on the top section, and planks on the bottom section.” Trent says. I go get more wood, and then do what he says. It makes charcoal. I use it to smelt my iron. “You will also want torches.” Trent says. “Get more charcoal, and make lots and lots of torches. Just put a stick on the bottom of the crafting section, and charcoal on top of the stick.” Trent says. I do what he says. I go back into my mine, placing torches. I find more Iron, so I mine it with my stone pickaxe. I go back into my house. “It is almost night time,” Trent says. “You might want to get iron tools, and maybe some armor.” I get iron boots, an iron helmet, and an iron sword. “This is all I can get.” I say. I see the sun setting, and I hear a strange noise… something that sounds like… a train whistle… a ghostly train whistle… “What was that?!” I ask. I run down into my mine, and see a cave. “You found a cave!” Trent says. “Yea, I noticed that.” I say. I see the same green monster from before. Except this one is following me. I grab my iron sword and charge at it. I see it starting to grow, like it is going to explode. I run, and it explodes. I mine the iron on the wall, and go back up to my house. I make an iron pickaxe. “Wow, you are doing pretty good for a new player…” Trent says. “But you still couldn’t survive on a PVP server!” “I bet I could.” I say. “Tools do not transfer between servers.” Trent says. “That is why you couldn’t survive.” Trent says. “If tools did transfer, then everyone would be fine, because they could just play singleplayer until they get full, enchanted diamond armor, and an enchanted diamond sword.” Trent says. NEXT UP: CHAPTER 4: MULTIPLAYER
Chapter 4: CHAPTER 4: MULTIPLAYER
“Are you sure I can’t survive in a multiplayer server?” I ask Trent. “You wouldn’t last 50 seconds.” Trent says. “Well, I will prove that I can.” I say. I wave my hand twice, and, sure enough, the quit button was gone, and replaced with “HELMET NOT DETECTED.” I quit to the menu instead, and go to multiplayer. “Searching for servers…” It says. “I love the new server search system. It searches for servers with the internet, instead of having to get an IP.” Trent says. “Servers found.” It says. I click a PVP server, and press play.I look at a house in the distance. “Huh?” I ask. I walk over to it. “Get back, griefer!” The person at the house says. “What is griefing?” I ask. “Ugh, you must be a new Minecraft player. Do I have to explain it? Griefing is the destruction of another player’s buildings. It is what people do on Minecraft servers.” The man says. “Along with trolling.” He says. “And what is trolling?” I ask. “Have you played ANY online games? It is when you trick someone to do something, and all they get is a pile of TNT layed at their house, blown up, and when they get back, they find out that it was just a troll so that they could get out of the house.” He says. “I have been trolled a few times.” He says. “Griefing and Trolling…” I say. I see someone running away, with a block of wood in his hand. “Get back here, griefer! I know you did it!” I see someone else chasing the griefer. “There were lots of griefs here lately,” The man says. “I wonder who is responsible…” I see a nametag above his head. It says “Minecraftfan50.” I see the griefer is still running away. I see him jump into some sort of portal surrounded in some purple rock. The portal inside the rock outline disappears, and the other guy is still standing in front of the portal. “Nether Portal.” Minecraftfan says. “It is very popular for a griefer to hide in the Nether nowadays.” Minecraftfan says. “I would play singleplayer a little more until you get the hang of minecraft. Once you get diamond armor, then you will be ready to play multiplayer.” Minecraftfan says. “Also, I would research on mine-” “I can’t because my VR headset was shaken off my head in real life.” I say. “I can’t leave the game no matter what, until I defeat the ender dragon.” I say. “Then just go on singleplayer.” He says. I wave my hand in the air twice, and the menu pops up. I go to the main menu, and back to my singleplayer game. NEXT UP: CHAPTER 5: LAVA & DIAMONDS Chapter 5:
CHAPTER 5: LAVA & DIAMONDS
I wake up in my single player house. “Okay… time to mine…” I say. I take my iron sword and stone pickaxe, and go down into my mine. I mine some more cobblestone, and see some iron. I pick that up, go back to my house, and create iron tools. “Trent? Are you there?” I ask. I go back into my mine. “Huh?” I ask. I mine the cobblestone, and run in. I notice I am falling. “Oh, god. Lava!” I say. I grab onto the edge. “Hang on…” I say. I pull myself up. “That was close. Thank you, motion controls…” I say. I look to the right and see a light blue substance. “It looks like retextured iron…” I say. I pick it up. “Diamonds?” I ask. I notice more by the wall. “That was a close one.” I say. I pick up the ones by the wall. “Trent?” I ask. “You don’t seem to be there…” I say. I go up to the surface, and make a diamond pickaxe, a diamond sword, and diamond boots. I put that on. “That was really a close one…” I say. I quit to the menu screen, and feel a helmet go onto my head. “What?” I ask. I feel a click, and the quit to the real world button reappeared. I press the button,, and see my mom sitting on the bed. “Huh?” I ask. “Oh. Did you put the helmet on?” I ask. “Look who is here.” My mom says. I turn around and see Trent. “I am here to help you with more Minecraft. Well done, finding diamonds…” Trent says. “Hang on, let me just get into your game for a few minutes.” Trent says. He goes onto my Minecraft world, and I see him placing some sort of altar… Gold blocks… how did he get that red substance?” I ask myself. He puts redstone torches around it. “Hang on.” He says. “Now to make it night…” I see the world turn to night time, and I notice someone appear, someone that looks like Steve, except with glowing white eyes. I notice Trent appear in the real world. “What was that?” I ask Trent. “Herobrine.” Trent says. “It is a rumor that existed for a long time.” He says. “And I proved it.” Trent says. “You are that good at Minecraft?” I ask Trent. “Hang on, let me see what he can do…” I say. I put the helmet back on, and go into the game. I see him take out a diamond sword and run towards me. I run over to my house real quickly, but my house vanishes. I see my diamond boots disappear, along with my diamond sword, and diamond pickaxe. Then, he slashes me with the diamond sword, taking me to the menu screen. I open up multiplayer. “I am back.” I say. “Huh?!” I ask. “Oh, my god… this whole place was griefed.” I see minecraftfan50. “Ugh… stupid griefer…” He says. NEXT UP: CHAPTER 6: GRIEFER
