AN EXPLOSIVE ENCOUNTER

I woke up on the fourth morning on my stay in this new and strange world. I went to the church where our newly made crafting table was, and checked on Job to see if he wanted us to train for anything else.

"Hey Job", I said, "Are you ready for our training".

"Ya", he said, "Just getting some stuff ready. Grab the others and go hunting for cows. We will need their hide... A LOT"

I went to Cody and Joes place first.

"But we already hunted for cows" whined Joe, "And we nearly got killed by that Cyclopes thing."

"Well we need more so get ready" I said to them.

Then I went to Sherry, Sam, and Mikes place.

"NO WAY" said Sherry, "I am NOT killing anything else"

"You have to if you want to survive" I said back.

"Ya Sherry" said Sam, "Toughen up"

"Whatever" Sherry said back.

I walked out and got Jordan up. sense we were both once cops, he was ready fast. we all set out then to the plains area to hunt. we found a fresh herd of cows. we started killing and skinning and we got a lot of skins ready. I noticed Joe was listening to something in the forest, so I went over to see if everything was alright.

"You okay" I asked.

"I don't know" he answered back, "I hear a peculiar rustling noise in there... and it is getting closer."

Jordan came over too.

"Whats going on" he asked

"I don't know" I said.

Jordan held up his sword defensively and looked into the forest. Two red eyes staired straight back at him.

"Oh C-"

Suddenly a creature like I had never seen before lunged out of the forest and bit Jordan in the arm. Joe kicked it off and the creature stumbled. I got a good look at it. it was almost insectoid in appearance. it had 4 stalky and insect like legs that went out from corners at the bottom of it. towards the top it was long and had some plates on it that looked loose. it had deep red eyes and a large mouth with razor sharp teeth. it lunged at me and I knocked it away with my sword. Sam came over and attempted to stab it but it rolled away and tackled her. After that I knew we were not dealing with an ordinary beast, this thing had intelligence. Mike came and kicked it off and it skittered towards Cody.

"WHAT THE CRAP?!" exclaimed Cody.

He swung his sword and cut one of its legs off. green blood came out of it and it collapsed. we all surrounded it... then I heard a noise... a dreadfull noise... on I would learn to fear for the rest of my life.

SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Its plates rose slightly and they started to glow red hot. We were all confused. and then... it detonated.

BOOOM!!! we all went flying in opposite directions. my vision was blurry, I looked at my chest and saw one of the plates stuck in it, now covered in blood. I passed out. I woke up in the church, bandaged up good. Job was next to me.

"Are you feeling better" he asked me.

"Ya" I said back, "What was that thing?"

"We call them Creepers, due to there great skill with stealth. they have chemicals in there body that, when threatened, are combined to create an explosion. you are lucky you did not get hit in a vital area. are you feeling good enough for training?"

"Ya im fine for that. frankly I want to learn how to make armor very badly now"

He led me into the church where he had a bunch of wood set up(AUTHORS NOTE: this is where the mine fantasy mod comes into play). First he showed us how to make a tanning rack with planks as a base and some poles with hooks on them, that where the hide goes after it is cleaned. He explained that all water now has at least some concentration of salt in it, so he took a bucket and some paper, dipped in the paper and took some salt out. then he rolled the hide into a ball with the salt and started cleaning it with his hands in the water. he took the cleaned hide and put it in the tanning rack. then he took a dagger and started working on the hide with it. he eventually turned it into leather. he was able to get enough leather out of that to show us how to make boots. he showed us intricate sewing techniques and they came out sort of like moccasins. He gave them to me. He had us clean the rest of the hide and then showed us all how to make leggings, a tunic, and a cap. we had our leather armor now.

"Good job" Job said, "Tomorrow we will learn the most important part of surviving here... mining. with mining you will be able to craft better tools, armor, and everything else. get some good rest"

I was ready.
