NOTICE: I understand that I should be posting this stuff in the Fan Lore thread, but I have alot of stuff I wish to cover, and I don't wish to take up the entire page.
NOTICE 2: This is my view on minecraft and my personal beliefs on the origin of things, if you think that something I say isn't your cup of tea, please don't turn on your caps lock and go to town. If you wish to say an opinion on what I think, you can say it without letting your inner keyboard warrior out.
Oh boy, where do I start? Minecraft is very interesting game, as it offers the option to come up with your own story on how you, the player, ends up in this strange world filled with strange and wonderful things. Some people think that the Player (More popularly known as "Steve") was a castaway and ended up on this strange island. Some people may think that Steve comes from a far off different land, maby even from a different planet or dimension. I am here to explain my view on how everything came to be. So lets get started.
The Player - The Player is the person that you control and play as in Minecraft. My view of how the Player came to be is that it is a person from a far away land in the minecraft world that has set off on an expidition to explore the world of Minecraft. As you would expect the Player would need to stay on the various lands he or she for awhile, which means he or she would need to survive. I also think that the Player is part of a race of people like him, which would explain Multiplayer and the existence of other minecrafters.
Animals - Not much of an explanation here, I just think they are...well...animals. Native animals to the lands the Player comes across. Mooshrooms - This particular animal I believe used to be a regular cow, however it was infested with the fungi of the mushroom islands. I also think that the mushroom islands were regular islands, but the spores of mushrooms caused mycelium to infest the islands and kill off any animal. Cows are the only animals strong enough to not be killed by the fungal virus, but rather infested.
The Villagers - The village people in Minecraft are, what I think, the native people to the unexplored lands. Somewhat similar to IRL Native Americans, Villagers tribes are in forms of villages. They seem to welcome The Player, although him or her, and their friends come from a different race. I like to think the villagers are actually very intelligent people, they have wise understanding of the worlds minerals and creatures. They seem to have engineering skills as the constructed Iron Golems. And they seem to have declared Emeralds as their national currency. They also seem to have been intelligent enough to distinguish jobs to themselves. I also think they are religious in some way, mainly because they have a church and a priest villager.
Zombies and Skeletons - The undead duo, Zombies and Skeletons have an interesting backstory in my eyes. In my view, I like to think that the undead are somehow bound by law to the Nether. They have resurrected in some way, and I'd like to think it has relation to the Nether. One theory is that a leader or emperor of some kind in the Nether ressurected dead miners (and sometimes villagers) as foot soldiers and recon for the overworld. The reason why I think Zombies siege villages is also because Villagers are native, and have been around for a very long time, causing the zombies to know their tactics and their skills. The reason why Zombies and Skeletons burn in daylight is I think because they are generally unholy creatures, and the sun is very bright and associated with hapiness and joy, they burn. Skeletons have the same story as Zombies, except they are simply more older corpses than zombies.
Creepers - The face of minecraft itself, The creepers are the most well known and notorious mobs amongst the roster. What I like to think with the creepers is that they are actually insect-like in nature. I like to think that are very native to the caves of minecraft and only come out of their caves at nighttime to gather food for their nests. Creepers breed and create nests in the cave networks of minecraft, but hide them very well. I even think they compete with Spiders, and commonly attack Spider nests. Somewhere deep down in the most unexplored caves there are different breeds of Creeper, and maby even forms of Creeper Matriarchs/Queens. The reason that creepers attack miners is that...well their MINERS. They dig into caves and endanger creeper nests and creeperlings.
Spiders - These massive bugs are, like many other things, native creatures to the minecraft world. They compete with Creepers aswell, and commonly try to attack creeper nests. Spiders don't really spark me any cool backstories, they seem similar to the passive animals in which they just...are animals. They seem to be able to be tamed however, which is why Spider Jockeys exist. The miners haven't found a way to tame these dangerous animals however. The reason why they are neutral in daylight I think is because they are nocturnal creatures, and any spider unlucky enough to return to their caves before sunrise are blinded by sunlight, causing them to not even notice any Miners around them until they attack. Cave Spiders are the same thing as Spiders, just that their a different breed.
The Witch - The witch is, what I think, an outcasted villager. These outcasts are possibly kicked out of villages because they concoct dangerous potions and maby even concoct some form of drugs, which can maby be considered Witchcraft by villagers (hence their name). These witches now live in swamps, all alone in their huts so they can concoct their dangerous potions or drugs in peace.
The Slime - These hopping, slimey creatures that come from swamps are actually, what I think, creations by the Witch. Possible experimentation with biological modification with potions caused by the Witch caused an outbreak of Slimes among the world. They seem mindless in a sense, hopping around and feeding off of mushrooms and animals, and even miners. The reason why they come out at night is maby because the sun will burn their soft, gooey membrane, and in the meantime they reside underground as green liquid. I think they have a biological structure similar to an IRL cell, including a nucleus, membrane, and other organelles that allow the slime to do things. The reason why the split on death is a form of "emergency mitosis" in which the slime rapidly splits itself to avoid the nucleus to be destroyed and to allow the 2 smaller slimes to run away and grow.
THE NETHER - Oh boy here we go. The infamous unholy realm of Minecraft, known as the Nether, is what I think a form of a prison for dead souls in Minecraft. It seems to have some sort of order and law in it, as it has Nether Fortresses with Blazes acting as Wardens for the souls. It was created by some kind of godly entity, maby even Herobrine. I'd like to think that how well you survived and fought as a miner depends on what kind of mob you will become when you eventually die and enter the Nether.
Zombie Pigmen - These undead, unholy inhabitants of the Nether are a class of creature one becomes when he or she dies and enters the Nether. Zombie pigmen are made from souls of miners who died without fighting, but still had the dignity to kill in their lives. This symbolizes the golden sword the pigmen wield, as it is a trophy to their kills. They however suffer as they didn't die a true warrior, and they roam the nether as standard prisoners. The reason why pigmen don't attack miners when they come to the nether is because pigmen were miners once, and they don't wish to kill their brethren. However, if a miner attacks a pigman, any other pigmen around will band together to kill the attacker. This is usually accepted by the Blazes.
Ghast - The floating, weeping ghosts of the Nether are the lowest rank of being you can become when you die and enter the Nether. Ghasts are made by the souls a true weakling. Didn't kill anyone in their lives, died without a fight, and maby even died by another man. Ghasts are commonly insulted by Blazes, and even by Pigmen. They have no honor and no dignity left, and are hated by everyone, dead or alive which is a reason why they cry and weep so much. They are hostile to miners because they wish to kill somebody in an attempt to gain honor and redeem themselves. They have no second thoughts about the lives of the miner, they just want to look strong. When they spit fireballs it actually causes MUCH pain to the ghasts throat, which is why the poor creature screams in pain whenever it fires.
Magma Cube - Magma cubes are mindless centurions to the Nether. Magma cubes are formed by the souls of dead animals, and when ressurected, they are pumped with the only though is to kill. They kill anything that isn't a Blaze inside the nether fortress.
Blaze - Blazes are the respected wardens and guardians of the Nether. Blazes are formed by the souls of a true warrior. One who killed many, one who died fighting with great honor. They are entrusted with the duty of guarding the Nether Fortress, and keeping an eye on the Pigmen and Ghasts. Blazes are metal physically, their head being a golden helmet with lava poured on it. They have immense power, with the ability to shoot fire, fly and command Magma Cubes. They kill all miners on sight, because it is their job a guardians and wardens. They don't even care that they were a miner when they were alive, people who become blazes enjoyed killing others, and are rewarded with the duty of killing more!
Wither Skeletons - Wither skeletons are another form of wardens and guardians of the Nether. Wither Skeletons are actually formed by miners who come to the nether and die in the nether. The miner is skinned of his or hers flesh and organs, and the skeleton is dipped in lava, causing the bones to enlarge and get charred, becoming black. They are somewhat mindless in nature, roaming the halls of Nether fortresses, dragging swords around with them.
The Withers - The withers are the commanders and generals of the Nether. Withers are formed by imbuing 3 Wither Skeleton Heads with the mass amounts of souls in Soul Sand. These large floating undead creatures command Zombies, Skeletons, Blazes and Magma Cubes, and have a general like role in which they coordinate zombie seiges and pinpoint locations of miner-made towns and cities. A miner who is lucky enough to escape the nether with the correct materials can summon a Wither, forcing the commander from the Nether and into the Overworld. This forces the Wither to fight, as it cannot run away. When a wither has been defeated, it drops a Nether Star. This object is extremely unstable, and imbued with the collective of souls that form withers. Nether Stars can be reprogrammed to create Beacons, which can channel the soul energy to create an aura of power.
