After canceling my old story (Lord of Chaos), I decided it was time to try and write one more. The poll I held led to a direct tie so I decided to just do my... personal favorite. This story involves a new character fighting against quite a unique villain in the race for an ancient treasure.
STATUS: ON HOLD. For now, await for Fallen Blade.

Long ago, the world was only a fiery cesspool of chaos and destruction. It was known as the Nether. But there was one other realm: a hidden one known as the Aether. The ancient god Notch resided here, not letting any living creature know of its existence. In each of these two dimensions was a jewel of great value and power. The Aether Star and Nether Star.
The Nether Star was guarded by the ancient death spirit Wither. No one knows what happened to the Aether Star as Notch had hidden it in the farthest regions of the Aether where no one would ever reach it. Later on, Notch used the Aether Star to create the Overworld which would be inhabited by creatures known as testificates. He also created creatures of his own image called humans.
However, some of the Nether Star's energy had been absorbed into the Overworld. The Wither could be summoned into the Overworld using an ancient ritual requiring many Nether materials. Many people would challenge it to gain control over the Nether Star. However, all were helpless to defeat the three-headed demon.
But one day Tantibus, the Pigman King, defeated the Wither and collected the Nether Star. He seized its power and began attacking innocent creatures in the Overworld. Soldiers were sent to stop him. But just before the final blow was struck, Tantibus shattered the Nether Star.
The power, now released into a pure form, created a new dimension: the End as people called it since entering meant certain death. It was guarded by a fierce dragon and his servants, the Endermen.
After a great battle, the valiant hero Magnin the Ender Dragon and collected yet another powerful energy source, the Dragon Egg. Legend has it that Magnin spent 10 years underground in the Overworld creating a temple to keep the Dragon Egg safe from the hands of people like Tantibus.
No one had known, but after the creation of the End, the remaining energy of the Nether Star was then absorbed into Tantibus's soul.
Tantibus began to transform over the years and gained the abilities of the Wither. Tantibus had heard legend of a haven in the sky, filled with golden trees and valuable treasures. But best of all, there was a great power source known as the Aether Star.
Tantibus knew that if he collected the Aether Star, he would become the most powerful being in the universe. After trying many combinations of portals, Tantibus finally discovered the correct one and entered the Aether to get the Star.
However, he was stopped by the Valkyrie soldiers and fell out of the Aether. No one has seen him since. Legend has it he is still plotting a way to defeat the Valkyries and gain the Aether Star. If he accomplishes this goal, no one is safe. Luckily, Notch said that a hero would save the people of the dimensions from Tantibus.
However, no one has come.
Chapter 1: The Dare (Dragon Egg Part I) Well, this dare was probably the single most stupid thing I had ever done in my life. One of my friends had dared me to get the Dragon Egg from Magnin's Temple.
Of course, me having void powers did help the circumstances. You probably deserve an explanation from that. Well, I honestly don't know how I got these powers. I woke up one day and fell through my bed.
I have the ability to turn my body into void particles and go through specific solid objects such as bricks and wood planks. However, iron blocks and stuff is impossible. I also can create and control void essence. It's pretty useful for fighting, though it is incredibly hard to control.
I had no idea what the temple was like. In fact, the door was iron so I couldn't barge in. I should have brought a pickaxe. I walked through the stone bricks to find myself right in front of a lava trap. Tripwires had been placed so I couldn't build a bridge across.
I pulled the tripwire string from its place. I should've realized this was another trap. Pistons opened up above me. Dispensers were revealed. However, water was the only thing that came out. Then a bucket fell onto my head.
After the lava had cooled, I filled my bucket with water to create an elevator up to the other side of the pit. I wonder how other people solved this because there would be no water if somebody had done this solution before.
When I stepped into the next room, silverfish came out of almost every block of stone bricks I could see. I ran around the room, looking for a solution. There was a one block opening right above the floor.
I picked up a silverfish and ran over to the opening, sliding it under. It was on top of a pressure plate which then opened a piston door. I ran through and the door sealed behind be. The silverfish must've gotten off the pressure plate. Thank goodness. The next room was only two blocks wide. The room was over lava. There was a one-block wide path over lava covered with pressure plates.
My guess was that these pressure plates would push me into the lava. Once again, void power came in handy. I turned my body into void and ran across, the stone bricks being pushed into me were ineffective.
The temple was only three rooms, I assumed as the Dragon Egg was on an altar ahead of me. I ran for it and was about to grab it when something hit me. I turned to see a zombie pigman.
But... this one wasn't normal. His skeleton was black. One eye was pure white. He was half-Wither, half-Pigman. I took out my sword and got ready to fight.
“Foolish mortal,” the pigman said, “You can not possibly understand the power of the Dark Lord Tantibus. I created this egg with the power of the Nether Star! It belongs to me!”
“So... what's with the Wither part of you?” I asked.
“That does not matter,” Tantibus said, raising his arm. A single Wither blast came out and hit me. I fell to the ground and everything faded to black.
Chapter Two: The Enderman (Dragon Egg Part II)
I woke up back in my bed. I must have respawned. However, I still had all my stuff. I wasn't wearing my armor but I still had it with me now. I spent most of my time outside in town, so my house was basically a giant storage room with a bed. I was going to have to find the only person who would know about what Tantibus wanted with the Dragon Egg.
"Shady" Sofin, a merchant of everything you couldn't find, was the only friendly enderman I had ever met. Well, "friendly" isn't the best term. He won't talk to you unless you buy something. However, I knew how to handle this. I walked over to Sofin's store, which was only a 50 block trip from my house. It was close to the entrance to town.
"Finally trying to get a sword, eh, Drake?" Sofin said as I approached the counter, "Luckily I just got a rare sword: Sharpness IV!"
"Listen, Sofin," I said, "I don't have time to pick out a weapon. I need information on the Dragon Egg."
"Well, you know the deal," Sofin said, "Pay up."
"I'm not buying," I said. I pulled out an Eye of Ender. Sofin didn't dare get one himself as the main ingredient was only carried by the others of his kind. He bought them from many people but endermen had stopped appearing around town. He still needed one more to complete his ultimate deal: a complete End Portal.
"No way," Sofin said, "You got an Eye of Ender? All right, I'll talk. Why do you need to know about the Dragon Egg, though? Did you actually get it from Magnin's Temple?"
"No," I said, "It was stolen from me. By a pigman named Tantibus. I haven't heard much about him, but from what he's told me, he's pretty famous in the End."
"Tantibus? You met him?" Sofin said, "Tantibus is one bad dude. In fact, I thought he was dead. Okay, so here's the legend of Tantibus: Tantibus was lord of the Zombie Pigman race. He was incredibly intelligent, as he seemed to be the only one whose brain wasn't rotten. However, he was power-hungry. He heard legend of the power granted by the Nether Star and prepared himself to fight the Wither.
"He was victorious in battle and retrieved the Nether Star. He gained the Wither's abilities and began to use them to wipe out his enemies. After getting the Aether Star, a voice told him that he could only be complete if he had the Aether Star, a jewel with far greater power than the Nether Star. It told him of the land in the sky, where the trees were golden and the animals flew.
"After many tries, Tantibus created a portal to the Aether. He had no idea where to look for the Star, so he went to the territory of the Valkyries, the only things resembling humans in the Aether. He thought the Valkyries were hiding the Aether Star and tried to fight them. However, he was overcome and sent back down to the Overworld.
"Tantibus then tried to gain control of the Overworld. A great war was fought between him and the people of this very town. Just as he was about to be slain, Tantibus was forced to use his last resort. He held the Nether Star in his hand and crushed it. A shockwave went out, knocking all the soldiers back. Tantibus fled back into the Nether as quick as he could.
"The energy released from the Nether Star created my home, the End. The remaining energy was absorbed back into Tantibus. He was slightly less powerful, but he was transformed over the years. Eventually, he became half-Wither. He did not have the full capability of the Nether Star, so ever since, he has devised a plan to retrieve the energy of the End. This was all contained in the Dragon Egg.
"This is why Tantibus wants the Dragon Egg. However, if he uses the Dragon Egg's energy, he will once again transform along with gaining many of the Ender Dragon's abilities. You may be wondering why he didn't have the Dragon's abilities before. This is because that energy had not been released from the Nether Star when it was in Tantibus's possession. It was released into the form of the Dragon Egg when Tantibus broke the Nether Star. Now that I'm hearing that Tantibus is back, You need some new gear."
Sofin handed me the sword he had tried to sell me earlier. However, it appeared to be made of bedrock. When I held it, my hand began to glow black. The sword now had a dark glow. I gave it a few test swings and with every swing, a trail of void followed. It seemed this sword was made for me.
"I was saving this one for you," Sofin said, "It's bedrock-plated. Took me a while to get enough bedrock to do that. My mining guy used three diamond pickaxes to get the pieces of bedrock. I know how connected the void and bedrock were, so I figured I could sell it to you for a good price. Now that some of your power seems to be in the sword, I wouldn't be surprised if it starts doing new things."
"You know," I said, "You know a lot. I think you should come with me. You have the weapons and armor you'll need plus you can be my guide of sorts because we don't know exactly where Tantibus is."
"I'm in," Sofin said.

Chapter 3: The Lord (Dragon Egg Part III)
“It's been a while since I've been back home,” Sofin said, “But we should begin our search there. The Ender Lord Magnin can probably help us. He is the true owner of the Dragon Egg.”
“Wait, Magnin is the king of the End now?” I asked, “I really need to brush up on history more. But that explains why endermen haven't been around town lately. So how are we supposed to get to the End?”
“Luckily, we have a complete End Portal ready,” Sofin said, “We better hide it in case a zombie pigman is to follow us.”
I don't think there's any need to describe our trip. By sundown, we had already made a secret mountain base and constructed the End Portal.
“Ready?” I asked. Sofin nodded. We jumped inside to find ourselves in the End, but it looked much different from the drawings of it I had found in a book about the End. Then again, it didn't mention a thing about Tantibus.
The endermen were now living in a society of sorts. The obsidian pillars had been taken down and were used to make roads. Houses had been made out of endstone. At the back of the island stood a huge castle made out of the remaining obsidian.
Most of the endermen greeted me when I looked at them. Whenever I looked one in the eye for even a split second, they would attack (with the exception of Sofin). We approached the castle but the guards wouldn't let us in.
“We need to talk to Magnin,” Sofin said, “There is an urgent matter. His Dragon Egg has been stolen.”
“I hate to tell you this,” one guard said, “But without proof, we can't let you in.”
“I'd listen to him,” I said, pulling out my sword, “Otherwise I can't guarantee you'll live much longer.”
“Why so threatening?” Sofin whispered.
“I do what I have to,” I whispered back.
“All right! All right!” the guard said nervously, “You can go in!”
We approached Magnin's throne room, which wasn't very large. It was quite simple... and so was he. He didn't wear any robe or crown. He just wore a blue-green shirt, dark blue pants, and gray shoes.
“What are you doing here?” Magnin yelled, “Did the guards let you in? I'll need to have a word with them.”
“Listen, Magnin,” I said, “The Dragon Egg's been stolen by Tantibus and you're the only one who can help us.”
“Don't call me Magnin. That's some name they made up for the history books,” Magnin said, “Call me by Steve, my real name. Anyway, you were talking about Tantibus, correct? You came to the right person. While the Dragon Egg contains the end's power, I can trace that energy because I still hold possession of the remaining pieces of the Ender Crystals.”
“Thanks,” I said, “Let's get started... um... Steve? Steve? Are you there?”
Steve wasn't responding for some reason. Suddenly his blue eyes began to flicker white.
“Get... away...” Steve said, “Before it's... too late. NOW!”
His eyes finally stayed white and he began to fly. He swung his arm like he had a sword in his hand. A trail of flames rushed towards us. I swung my sword, trying to counter the flames to buy us a split second.
But the void trail behind my sword had created a barrier. The flames were blocked! Sofin was right that it would start doing new stuff. Steve had realized this and moved onto a different tactic.
Beams of dark energy flew from his hands. I managed to avoid them. Tried the barrier technique with my sword, but the beams broke them. Luckily I had still been running as I created them.
But while Steve was distracted attacking me, Sofin pulled a sword of a rack and teleported behind Steve. He swung his sword at Steve, making sure not to hurt him too much. Steve fell to the ground. He got up, his eyes back to blue.
“I'm sorry,” Steve said, “I was told those crystals came with a terrible price. You see, long ago, back in the beginning of the End's history, a spirit attempted to destroy the Ender Dragon to take control of the End. The spirit, Herobrine, was not visible except for its white, soulless eyes.
“A great battle was fought until the dragon finally ate Herobrine. The remains of Herobrine became the crystals that I possess today. A dying enderman told me about Herobrine. He told me that every time the Overworld reached night, Herobrine would reincarnate himself within me, eternally searching for the Ender Dragon.
“Anyway, we better search for the Dragon Egg. The crystals will show me where Tantibus is, but he'll probably be far away by the time we get there.”
Steve pulled out many pink shards. He firmly grasped them and they began to glow. Once again, Steve's eyes turned white. After a few seconds, the crystals stopped glowing and Steve's eyes returned to normal.
“I don't believe it,” Steve said, “Tantibus is here. He's in the End.”

Two questers up against Tantibus isn't fair even though he's outnumbered. I only plan on adding one more character of my own creation to this story (not counting villains/servants of Tantibus). So why not add your own? Just fill out this form (please delete the parts in parentheses):
Name: (Self-explanatory) Gender: (yes, it has to be male or female) Age: (permitted to be undetermined for zombies, zombie villagers, and NORMAL skeletons) Mob Type: (Choices for Good Characters: Villager, Human/Player, Zombie, Zombie Villager, Skeleton, Wither Skeleton, Enderman, Iron Golem) (Choices for Evil Characters: Human/Player, Zombie, Zombie Villager, Skeleton, Wither Skeleton, Enderman, Zombie Pigman, Witch) Bio: (must be at least three sentences long. In this story, Herobrine has made appearances and will make more. However, Herobrine is not real. He is just a myth created by players of Minecraft. Herobrine is not a coded feature in Minecraft and never will be. He is simply used as a fictional character.
Déjà vu for me. As for the story, I don't always like how, in stories, Notch is made the god of Minecraft or something, but I'm interested to see what happens next.
Well, actually, the prologue indicates that he is more of a creator rather than a ruler. I imagine Notch not appearing at all in the story, but I may change that if I find it necessary.
Well when I say god, I mean it in the sense of being the creator of all (But sometimes, that's not the case). In my mind, ruler isn't a synonym for god.
Well, I feel that rulers are kind of, well... Democratic and logical. While gods are somewhat miraculous and etc, etc, etc... Like mythological gods, somewhat fictional when it comes to myths and legends and epics. Since gods in stories can make things happen without a real scientific or logical explanation. Did I explain that clear enough, or...?
At the end of the chapter, you wrote: “That does that matter,” Tantibus said, raising his arm. A single Wither blast came out and hit me. I fell to the ground and everything faded to black. Am I allowed to ask what 'that does that matter' mean?
Wow I hate Symphony's auto-correct. Before I can finish typing a word, it changes it to something else.. However, TextEdit sucks badly. I fixed the error. The second "that" was supposed to be "not".
Well, the VERY long wait is over. Aether Star is back with a new character and a new tale of Tantibus! The action hasn't started yet, but the actual journey starts next chapter!
Could you maybe put "The Hoe" (You should know what that is.) in here except with an orange glow, and works well on pigs? (Just wondering)
No, because...
1. That would give Tantibus an easy weakness. I have a plan for how Tantibus is defeated that doesn't involve any character discovering any sort of weakness he has. That's the thing about Tantibus with the Nether Star's power. He has no weakness. He's defeatable, but doesn't have a weakness.
2. I shouldn't be using the weapon again. If you'd like, you can have a less OP form of it by applying a character!
Teh Aeh-Ter Stare!
Featuhreng Epic Swords and stuff!
No seriously, so far so good.
Didn't catch me much attention compared to some stories but I like it nevertheless. I hope you do better on the next few chapters. :3

Seems like I have some...
Seems like I have some...
Featuhreng Epic Swords and stuff!
No seriously, so far so good.
Didn't catch me much attention compared to some stories but I like it nevertheless. I hope you do better on the next few chapters. :3
