The spaceship known as Adventure hovered across the black void that is known as outer space. The crew hustled to attend to their duties, sweat pouring down their rosy red cheeks. The crew was tasked with exploring a new planet that had just been discovered.
Captain Connors, the lead officer on the spaceship, casually strolled down a shimmering corridor. He placed his beefy hand on a scanner. Bright blue beams searched his hand. "Access granted," said an electronic voice. "Hello, Captain Connors." The officer nodded and walked through an automatic sliding door.
Connors entered the bridge of the vessel. "What's our status?" he asked.
"We will be arriving in a few minutes," a female worker replied.
"Excellent," Connors approved. The ship continued to glide across space. After a few seconds, a distant sphere came into view.
"That's it," a male crew member noticed. Connors nodded. He had a feeling this mission would be a huge success.
"Wait, what's that?" someone asked. Connors focused on the planet. A small gray object was coming towards them.
"It looks like another spaceship!" Connors exclaimed.
"This can't be good!" Sergeant Simmons panicked. He was the second-in-command.
"Turn the ship around!" Connors ordered.
"Right away, sir!" a woman nodded. The crew began working on the ship's controls. Connors frowned as he realized they weren't going to escape in time.
The unknown vehicle sped closer and closer. "Forget it!" Connor aborted his plan. "They're boarding our ship! Get your weapons ready!" Connors and Simmons pulled out their plasma guns and hustled out the door.
The two ships were now parallel. A long, spiraling tube emerged from the alien one. The humans kneeled down, their weapons aimed at the other end of the tunnel. A door opened and a swarm of monsters charged into the tube.
"What the heck are those things?" Simmons screamed.
"They're all blocky!" a soldier commented.
"I don't care what they are, they're going down!" Connors remarked. He fired a rapid set of energy bolts at the beasts. Two zombie-like creatures collapsed, followed by a walking skeleton carrying a medieval oak bow and a set of arrows.
"There's too many!" Simmons called.
"I'm not giving up!" Connors muttered. He fired again, taking out a mutant bloodthirsty spider. It seemed as if there was an unlimited number of them.
"We have to fall back!" Simmons suggested. Finally, Connors agreed and retreated. The soldiers went with him, several of them being slaughtered in the process.
Connors and Simmons were separated from the group and hid behind a corner. The monsters pursued the soldiers without taking notice of them. Connors looked around. All was silent. Suddenly, four green things spotted them and sped towards them.
"Run!" Simmons yelled and took off down the hall. Connors was right behind him. They arrived at the bridge. The monsters were far behind.
"What do we do?" Connors asked.
"Nothing," Simmons shook his head. "We're done for!" Just as he said that, a large army of creatures scattered into the area. Instinctively, Connors pushed a red button. The ship began to self-destruct.
This is not a space opera. It just takes place in the future. I just needed a way for the people to come to the world of Minecraft that wasn't overused. The rest of the story isn't like the prologue.
