Basic Story information:
Dawn of the Infinity: A Minecraft book, that in sum, is the collective epicness of all Minecraft and mods with a rather ‘heavy’ storyline. This story is unlike most you’ve read. While it does use rather generic concepts, such as ‘Herobrine’, ‘Steve’, and basic concepts from original ‘Minecraft’, this is only to keep it grounded to the basis of original Minecraft. However aside from these generic factors, this story is quite in depth and complex. I guarantee you it will at the very least give you something to entertain yourself with for a while.
This Story gets Epic! As a heads up it is a long story. When complete it will be near 300 pages... I think ha. But as for what i have now, i'd be honored if you would read it. Link at bottom.
‘A Minecraft Story’ (now called Dawn of the Infinity) was originally composed as an idea about a year or so ago. It was only a few weeks ago that I decided to actually compose a full-length book, thus, I’ve written this piece of literature for your entertainment.
I understand that this story will have grammatical errors of all sorts, forgive me I’m not wonderful with proper grammar or spellings, please excuse that. If you find a problem or typo of any kind please report it and I will get it fixed as soon as I can. Thanks for understanding.
This story will be updated and more sections will be added as they are composed, dates and more specific information will be provided at a later time. For now, I intended the entire book to be as seen on the chapter layout content chart below. I will update the actual story document as well as this chart as more of the story is written. As well as add other information to this page as it comes more ‘online’.
Basic Storyline:
Steven and his older brother Turk, two seemingly normal people, will be forced into a war that has raged on for some time. They will be joined by Steven and Turk’s father, as well as Uraa, a powerful mage, and Vlad, a royal knight like Turk. Other side main characters will later join this team as well.
They must set out from their homelands to the Nether to find a book of ancient power and knowledge that may aid humanity in ending the struggle between man and monster once and for all. A book that may posses the understanding of the very fabric of reality their world is tethered to.
They will soon learn that all great secrets are meant to stay secrets for a reason. The forces of darkness, suspected to be led by Herobrine, the fallen dark lord, will do anything to try and stop the forces of good from achieving their goal of getting their hands on the book.
However getting a hold of that book will prove only the beginning. As an even larger and more terrifying truth is uncovered from within its pages. That the world Steven always thought he understood, was near the brink of complete eradication, for even Herobrine, has a master… and a purpose.
...There are far more terrifying things to fear that loom in the shadows then Herobrine. As Steven and his comrades, as well as the entire human race will soon come to understand…their world is about to become undone.
Steven and his gang of friends will need to gather a force of good from all corners of the world. The Nether, Aether, and Over-world, to create an army capable of stopping the evil forces from destroying their world. Their epic quest will take them across the entire span of their planet and to other dimensions, in search of the answers to stopping an endless war, and saving their world from oblivion.
-The main purpose for the title comes into play later in the story when the more science fiction stuff begins, and it gets into temporal distortion, other worlds, the Aether, the creation of 'their' universe, where mobs come from, why the war began, how to end it, what the purpose of their world's existence is, what is the importance of the "Infinity", so forth... Naturally can't say anything about it though, it would ruin the surprises.

-Section 4- The Epicness becomes Epic.
More information about Section 4 will be posted here soon.

NOTE- Title of story has been changed from "A Minecraft Story" to "Dawn of the Infinity" As this title is more suited for the stories main intention. This is now the permanent title of this literature.

I may need others assistance for construction of sets or other tasks that I myself would be incapable of performing on my own. If you take interest in the story, have comments, or suggestions, please let me know in the comments or at [email protected]
I am open to ideas, characters, skins, settings, maps, whatever you guys can come up with. I will take a look at and attempt to correlate any relevant and appropriate ideas into the story. In advance, thanks for any assistance!
If in any way you find I have copied an idea from you or anyone you know, or you wish for me to accredit anything I’ve used in my writing, also please feel free to contact me and I’ll make the needed changes.
I do hope that you all enjoy this original concept. I promise you it will be quite Epic when fully composed. Thanks again!
I must say, your story has been surprisingly good so far. I say "surprisingly" because the name choices for your title, main character, and antagonist don't do your story justice. When I saw the title, I couldn't help but think, "Oh great, what an original title. This person didn't try," and then as I began reading, I thought, "Oh great, another Steve vs. Herobrine story, but still, the writing quality is good, so I might as well continue reading..."
On the contrary to first impressions, it seems you have put a lot of effort into this. So far, I have noticed that you put a significant amount of detail into the story and the environment. I also find it interesting how you used in-game screenshots to describe fictional events. I read the first 12 pages, and will continue reading later.
I’ve never really heard of a full Minecraft book, with detailed story and such, but I believed that it may be an interesting idea.
There are actually quite a few finished as well as unfinished Minecraft stories lurking around the "Literature" and "Show Your Creation" forums, some of which are of considerable length and detail (some are not). There are also probably several published Minecraft books out there; I know of two. One is inaptly titled "Minecraft," and is so awful that a thread was dedicated to its scathing and comedic dissection. Another one is called "Cube World," which seems decent from what I've heard. What you're doing isn't new, but there is always room for more stories here, and plenty of people who enjoy reading them (although most probably won't comment).
Be sure to bump your topic when you finish a new chapter. Also, please consider re-naming your story so that more people know it's legit. While I'm here posting this, I also recommend that you apply your story to Minefic:Legacy, so that more people know about it. Best of luck!

Hey asanetargoss. Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it! About the title, I had similar thoughts when I named it “A Minecraft Story.” I agree it sounds a bit, generic, I believe I’ll spice it up a bit. Thanks for that advice I totally agree haha. I simply had no better title name at the time I posted it. I have a greater conceptual understanding for the entire story overall now though, so I believe a more suited title would be appropriate.
But I am very pleased to hear you’ve liked it thus far. Typically I write very involved science fiction war stories, but I figured I’d give Minecraft a try. I left my main character as Steve, as well as some other generic aspects simply because the story is meant to stick true to Minecraft, while still very diversely leading the reader into a much more epic and involved world and storyline.
And yes as far as a “full book” I did a bit of looking and I see there are in fact some, thus I was mistaken. But I do look forward to writing a full book, since I find it difficult to express large complex ideas in a short amount of pages. As for the pictures 'in game', I figured since I was incorporating many mods into the storyline, as well as other ideas, I would use Minecraft best I could to illustrate certain ideas better. Guess it’s because I’m a picture book kind of guy lol.
Also I will most defiantly look into the site you recommended. Thanks!
And I do hope you continue reading, it does become quite the science fiction epic.
i'm loving this so far! please talk more about the monsters overcoming the world! like how it began, blah blah. keep up the good work love the pictures too!

Thanks, I’m pleased to hear you are enjoying reading it! And yes I intend to have them speak more about the monsters overrunning the world.
This story will eventually have some very ‘Above normal Minecraft’ combat settings as well as a very large-scale battle later. Section 3 has a bit more combat and warfare aspects… the first two sections mainly establish storyline connections and character aspects.
However the information comes throughout the entire story. But yes I will most defiantly continue elaborating on the ‘mob’s’ invasion of the world and how it began.
I have to admit, I, like asanetargoss, basically dismissed this story when it had the original title. I figured it was another generic Minecraft fanfic, which was, in retrospect, a bad judgement to make without reading it. But when you changed the title it intrigued me enough to actually look at it, and I really like what I read! This book is very well-written. I don't think it's actually the first of its kind, as a full-length Minecraft book, but it's still incredibly original. Incorporating new characters and concepts into the familiar Minecraft theme is hard to pull off (I know, having tried it myself several times), but you seem to have succeeded with it. I haven't finished it, but after reading the first few chapters I'm really impressed. Well done!
Feel free to leave your comments. Or criticisms, I suppose, if they're constructive. Almost anything really, unless it's an outright threat. In that case I'd prefer you put it in a private message.

Your feedback is much appreciated.
As I had agreed with asanetargoss in my reply to his comment, I too thought my original title was sort of, unoriginal and could potentially be easily dismissed as being a rather generic or would give them impression of an uninteresting story. So I changed it and made a cool title page haha. But I really do like the concept that this story is going with, when I finish more and put it up for you guys to read you’ll see what I mean when I say it becomes rather epic. I really wanted to make something that was, well epic. And since I normally write science fiction war novels, I figured I’d put that spin on a Minecraft novel and see how it went.
Glad to hear you are enjoying it thus far, I do hope you will continue reading. I will look into your works as well. I look forward to reading your material.
(Section 2, chapter 4, “In Preparation”) will be added most likely tomorrow if I can get it all finished up by then, so feel free to check back later.

You usually write science fiction stories? That's good. The predominant genre on the Literature subsection as of now is fantasy, which is a good genre in it's own right, but it's always nice to see something different. My story "Dark Aether" (shameless advertising ) has a kind of steampunk science fiction genre, and while I've found a few other stories that could be classified as "science fiction", I have to say the genre as a whole is pretty unrepresented in the Literature subsection. I've always really liked science fiction, especially that of Arthur C. Clarke and Isaac Asimov. My parents are both physicists, so I suppose that partially explains that.
After reading some of the "Basic Storyline", I think the plots of our stories are similar. In both stories the main character has to find an object that will save the entire universe from darkness, and both involve temporal distortion. I have to ask, will there be time travel in your story? So far my own story is one of the only ones I've found to center around the concept of time travel, and it would be really interesting to read another writer's view on it.

The main story I write is not published yet, otherwise I would refer you to it. Unlike this story I hope to make it into an actual ‘book’ someday. But the story I write is set about 2 thousand years in the future from present day. It’s basically like a fusion between Star Trek, and Star Wars. Ironically my story has no ‘star’ in the title haha, but I actually do have a character in the story who is very obsessed with high level science concepts such as time travel. It’s difficult to explain any aspect of my book though without explaining it all, if that makes sense.
But on topic of Minecraft, I had not originally intended for “Time Travel” in ‘Dawn of the Infinity’. However, when I write I sort of make things up as I go haha. I did not plan on creating a “Time Traveling” concept within this particular work, that effort I expend on my main book series.
But I was intending to reference some of my ideas for inter-dimensional travel, such as it pertains to this story, as in the Nether, Aether, so forth. I actually use the Aether in this story.
On that topic, I would like to read your work at some point. I have been told that it’s quite good. I look forward to reading it. But it would be very interesting to see what I come up with that may be similar to your work or the other way around.
And I ‘shamelessly’ advertise to. Haha
But yes the basic storyline is, well not very specific, otherwise I would have to give things away that I’m not ready to talk about.
Someone wiser then I once told me, every story intended to entertain is essentially this, good vs evil. Done haha. Of course the natural complexities of the idea evolve on top of that. And as you rise up on the pyramid of possibilities thus the story becomes different from others, and complex in its own unique ways.
I apologize for the long response. In simple I will talk about some science stuff in this story, such as my title image. The planets are the Nether, Over-world, and Aether. I made them “planets” in the title image to reference dimensions. But all in all the people in this story are rather stone-age in tech level. However there will be one character, from the Nether, who is rather capable of depicting high-level concepts.
You see, they go to the Nether to find this book, but in reality that is really where the main storyline actually begins.

I'm intrigued by your description of your other story. I want to read that as well now. You don't have to apologize for the long response. I too enjoy writing long-winded monologues. Also, it seems like the amount of planning you did before writing this story is pretty extensive. I usually plan stories out somewhat before writing them but then end up making most of it up as I go along. Anyway, I'm excited to see how you use science fiction in the later chapters.
As for my story, you can find it on the Literature subsection as well, if you want to read it. As I said before, it's called "Dark Aether". Though, since it seems like you're under the impression that I'm using the word "Aether" to refer to the heavenly dimension from the "Aether" mod for Minecraft, I should say that I use the word to signify a steampunk civilization's classification of space. For example, "Aetherships" are steampunk space ships, but since space is called the "Aether", they're named called "Aetherships" instead of space ships. I think the name suits the steampunk theme of the story.

also, we are doing this in american english, if you find a slight bit of a southern accent, its normal. pm me if you find any errors once section 2 starts

and i do make a lot of minor mistakes.... a bit of a southern accent, haha nice.

AH, I see what you mean by ‘Aether’ now. Sorry, I had not thought of that. Very cool, and I will read it for sure soon.
And as far as my other story goes, it’s actually ten books, plus five additional side books haha. A very large universal story with many races and many many storylines. It will take some time to complete it, but the first book is nearly complete. It is titled “The Great War, To Ignite the Flames” and is, well, the culmination of my best writing skills I think haha. But it will not be published for a bit longer, trying to get all that underway. Apparently everyone writes books so getting someone to pay attention to your book is difficult haha. But I will let you know if I ever get it going lol.
And in section 2, the 4-th chapter of which I will upload today around 5 this evening, but the later part of section 2 refers heavily to the way they open Nether portal in the ‘real world’ of Minecraft, not that silly flint and steal stuff. So that will cover some science of their world.
I actually wrote chapter 5 already, but I need the images and my editor Steven (SliverPhantom1) to well, edit it. But I’m going to try and write chap.6 today or tomorrow, and hopefully be able to post more sections for readers soon.
The format of the story outline is on the page, if you’ve ever gotten a look at that. But I’m going to change it up a bit, turns out the section I’m writing now needs more then 3 chapters, I think four will do. But other sections, such as the “Bible of Notch’” Which focuses on the Nether warfare, are going to need probably like eight, considering I intend to heavily detail that section, since I enjoy writing warfare.
And as far as planning goes, I do try my best to plan, but that’s only because I think about it in my head first, in reality, there’s no planning just doing lol
I sort of give my characters the guidelines, and set them loose.
Think you’ll like the character Uraa in chapter 4, she reminds me of a ‘good’ girl boy, ‘friendship’ relationship. haha Makes me chuckle.
This is pretty cool. I like the title page! The pictures in the story are a cool idea to.
Thanks. The title page i made in Photoshop. And as far as the pictures in the story go, i thought that it was an interesting idea to add images in with the writing. But glad you like it thus far, do continue reading.

You should talk more about the War with the monsters.
going to put up the next 3 chap soon, 5 then 6 then 7, a few days apart, but they wont have images for a little while longer. just composing the writing mainly for right now. Starts to get epic in chap 7 though haha.

Curse PremiumI must say, your story has been surprisingly good so far.
And thanks for reading!
You usually write science fiction stories? That's good. The predominant genre on the Literature subsection as of now is fantasy, which is a good genre in it's own right, but it's always nice to see something different. My story "Dark Aether" (shameless advertising
Im the editor for all the minor mistakes that Darkscript makes, so if you find any, pm me, it helps alot especially when im playing saboteur on minecraft
also, we are doing this in american english, if you find a slight bit of a southern accent, its normal. pm me if you find any errors once section 2 starts
thx!
