Consumed by flames and blood-rocks, sands filled with soul of defeated creatures and bubbling lava oceans extending as far the vision could reach, the Nether's scenery is often accompanied by puerile and rather demoniac flying phantoms whose loathsome tentacles shook periodically. As if this wasn't enough, immense and spacious fortresses made of the blood-rock's detritus separated via pressurization and scavenging. These gigantic and majestic buildings were built by the inhuman rational dwellers, most precisely, Pigmen.
II. Backstory
You see, in the remote past Minecraftia was verily perfect grassy steppes filled with living animals. Most of them were Pigmen and Testificates - yes, these you commonly encounter meanwhile your expeditions- and each was an absolute contrast of the other one. Half-human half-pigs were equally intelligent, rational and optimum scholars; noisy monk's foremost attribute was promptly pointed the lack of wisdom and culture with an ignorant and innocent lifestyle. The good neighborliness of both creatures was omnibus for mostly the entire continent. Colonies of creepers, spiders, skeletons and absolutely all beings were merrily assisted and supported by those two major races. The world's description was naturally claimed to be greater than a utopia.
III. Notch, we Have a Problem
Within the pinnacle of civilization, something went fairly wrong as creatures whose semblance was merely the conjunction of Pigman's silhouette and a prettier appearance regarding to Testificates, whose official name tag was 'Human'. These humans exploited their intelligence to create vast empires, generally slaughtering any being on their path. Soon enough, the distribution system between the creatures was impaired and its ruins were inevitable. In order to prevent such disgrace, monsters reunited and commanded a massive assail to the human's reign. The humans were experienced fighters, astonishingly intelligent people on creating traps and leading to imminent loss of almost all invaders.
IIIV. Solution for War Aftermath
Quickly enough, the humans obtained the information that proved the attacks were commanded by Pigmen. For the sake of revenge and to satisfy the natural blood-thirst feeling, it was sent expeditions to slay any of these creatures. Pigmen were absolutely amazing scholars and monstrously intelligent creatures; however they lacked in fighting skills. Most of them were speedily slaughtered. However, cunning few survivors managed to gather blocks of a dark-purplish colouration and use flames to lit it, naming this discovery of Nether Portal.
Neth = Escape | Thera = Human
V. Winner's Loss
The Nether Portal discovery was quickly spread by the inhabitants, reuniting an absolute mass of monsters surrounding it. One by one, they fled to this new region just some time before the humans encountered their nest - and unleashed a massive onslaught to corral the fugitives. Their operation functioned successfully; with the feeling of ending victorious in the result of the timely worldwide war. Returning to their out-of-danger reign, the harsh consequences were indeed terrifying - monsters invaded and disbanded the reign, slaughtering almost all remaining humans and separating them. Imminently, they became either loners or grouped in parties to rebuild their destroyed safe port, finding out in the difficult manners almost all monsters were hostile towards them. After all, the world's corruption began upon humanity's arrival.
VI. New Home
Over twenty-five thousand Pigmen retreated to Nether searching for a new secure life. All of them were mercilessly slaughtered by human warriors. However, few corpses were trembling, some suffering from unbearable throes; meanwhile few others rose from the very death. Interestingly, they were struck by a brutal amnesia and their past life, alongside the massive intelligence and wisdom, all of it was plainly disposed from their minds. Their knowledge is simple and consists on basic primitive instincts - slay anything who harms your fellow. Humans? Quite few dared to visit the house of pain that was the plane. It took approximately five hundred years until humanity learnt about Pigman's invention and was capable of manipulating such ability, meeting their most dread enemy, yet without this knowledge. Perhaps all this happened for a new start ... perhaps the past was a mistake just to be dispatched from the minds of all. Perhaps.

This is basically what I was planning to do. This could be described in a better form as origins; however, I do not plan on doing so. I'm probably linking all races' origins and creating threads for each of them. Feedback is appreciated, so do it if you're willing to.
This is brilliant! My favorite part has to be how the Nether is a realm to escape the dominant species of the Overworld and escaping to a realm in which, they can be one of the dominant species in a realm of pure evil or... Something like that at least. Anyways, love the story (though it is Non-fiction, which I don't read as much as Fiction, great job!) and all it's details. Thumbs up.

Thank you for the feedback.
I was originally planning on creating a brief story of a Pigman's tale through the regions of Nether. However, the description of the backstory was quite enthralling through my eyes, hence I've changed the course of the original idea. My plans are adding small backstory of other races, just as Creepers, Ghasts, etc.
