Perhaps 'hard' isn't the right word. More 'frustrating'. But okay. I tried to add in a little humor here and there, though I'm not sure how much a succeeded. I've always wanted to use a false bookcase that leads to a secret passage in one of my stories.
Well it ended up pretty good, I love it and cant wait for the fifth chapter.

I wouldn't say the chapter felt humorous so much as mysterious and foreshadowing. Charles seemed charming as usual. Bookcases that lead to secret passageways are always rad, though.

Yes, it wasn't really intended to be overtly humorous, just ominous and thoughtful with a kind of witty edge occasionally. I like Charles as well. He's kind of the less adventurous, more rational poet to Vikram's reckless, mad inventor. I'd like to elevate Janysse to such a position in the story later on, when she makes her first appearance, but I'll see.

I do not recall such an exchange occurring between me and dejers. I'm pretty sure dejers was referring to one of those banner shops. However, your enthusiasm makes me blush. XD

It was fine but all he did was stretch my original picture into 728x100 pixel format. I thanked him for it and told him it looked pretty good, but I thought asanetargoss could do better if I told him more precisely what I wanted.
