Have you ever thought of what happened before Steve? Here is the story of a great war between four sides.
Minecraftia

Notch was an explorer. He had just discovered a new world. Quickly, he and his fellow explorers, about 100 people, created a settlement. They dubbed it Minecraftia. All was peaceful until the men began mining. They discovered a secret cave system. It was filled with monsters! The creatures poured into the Overworld. Notch didn't like it. He searched the cave and discovered a man named Herobrine. Herobrine was the leader of the creatures. He wouldn't leave or form an alliance so Notch declared war.
The Four Armies

Notch gathered his forces. On his side were the Minecrafters, Wolves, Ocelots, and Golems. Herobrine called together his zombies, skeletons, giant spiders, slime monsters, and his favorite beast, creepers. As the fight began, the other monsters began to take notice. Wither, the king of the secret realm called the Nether, decided that it was time for him to expand his kingdom and take control of the Overworld. He sent Zombie Pigmen, Blazes, Magma Cubes, Wither Skeletons, and Ghasts through a portal into the Overworld. Now, there were three armies. The fourth was led by a massive Ender Dragon. Under its command were Endermen, Witches, Cave Spiders, Silverfish, and Giants.
Fall of Wither

Notch fought from his huge castle. Because of his heavy fortress, the Minecrafters were winning the battle. Suddenly, Wither came through the Nether Portal and began slaughtering his men. "Minecrafters!" Notch yelled. "Kill the three-headed skeleton!" The archers turned and fired at the commander. Wither hissed and darted away from the battle. Thinking that he retreated, Notch turned his attention elsewhere. Out of nowhere, Wither came up and knocked Notch from his tower. The archers took notice and killed the wretched beast. Since Wither was dead, the Nether mobs returned to their home, leaving three armies remaining.
The Castle is Breached

The whole time, Herobrine's creepers were unable to access the castle gate because of Notch's ocelots, who scared creepers. Now, the skeletons had killed them with their bows. Herobrine set the creepers forth. "They're coming to the wall!" screamed Mike, Notch's second-in-command. BOOM! A creeper imploded, opening a big entrance in the castle wall. The monsters and Ender beasts poured into the castle.
Death of the Dragon

Notch ordered his men to retreat. Herobrine took the castle. The Ender Dragon didn't feel safe and took off after the Minecrafters. "The dragon!" Mike warned. Notch turned just in time to notice the beast gliding towards him. With a single leap, he was on the dragon's back. It tried to shake him off, but Notch stood firm. He brought his diamond sword over his head and slammed it into the beast. They both plummeted. Notch jumped off and landed in a lake, unharmed.
The Tides Turn

Now, only the Minecrafters and Herobrine's creatures remained in the fight. Notch charged to the castle. After a long fight, they took it back. Herobrine was furious. He grabbed a bow and arrow from a fallen skeleton. Notch stood atop his tower. It was now or never. Herobrine fired and Notch fell to the ground.
The War Ends

Notch was dead. The Minecrafters did not know of any way to win without him. Mike declared himself the new ruler, but it didn't last. He was assassinated by a creeper. The monsters killed everyone else. Herobrine was the new ruler of the Overworld.
Steve

Steve was only a teenager. He was the only surviving human. In a rage, he went right up to Herobrine and killed him in his sleep. After that, he took off. The creatures tried to catch him, but Steve was too fast. Steve hit his head after a fall while fleeing the castle. That's why he thinks he is stranded after he wakes up.
After the War

Wither- Wither was taken back to the Nether. Only Steve has the power to resurrect him.
Ender Dragon- By the power of the Ender Crystals, the dragon was brought back to life. It remains in the Ender Realm.
Herobrine- Some people believe the Herobrine's ghost still lurks around the Overworld.
Steve- Steve has lost his memory. One day, according to a prophecy, he will retake Minecraftia.
