I like how you played upon the fact that squids could (can they still do it?) break your boat in Minecraft. It adds a sort of humorous feel to the much deeper and thoughtful meaning that's surely there as well, if I could just figure it out... Don't take that as a negative remark; I'm really bad with poetry.
Last time i went through a patch of cephalopods
i wrecked and lost my boat so yes i think they can still do it. I'll work on finding the Deep meaning behind it too. k

A fire
did alight,
giving me

A million squids
upon my bow.
A wondrous sight
to behold.
When i sank
far below,
i thought of the squids
who sank my boat
i wrecked and lost my boat so yes i think they can still do it.
