This is the first fanfiction I write in this section, being a Crossover one, crossing Minecraft with the Simulation-Strategy game Spore. Don't think I know nothing about writting stories, I have written a few in the past. Also, it's not going to be a crossover with the base Minecraft. If you're into modding, you'll get what I mean, because this Minecraft features traits from the Mob Talker mod. You can download it here.
DISCLAIMER: I do not own Minecraft, nor any of it's mods. Minecraft belongs to Mojang, and the mods to their owners. I also do not own Spore, nor any of it's expansions. Spore belongs to Maxis and Eletronic Arts. The Tadpole species, however, was created by me.
The universe was dotted with Galaxies everywhere. Most of them were destroyed during the Annihilation, though there are still many galaxies shining with life, mainly in the First Gigaquadrant.
The main Galaxy containing the largest ammount of life in it is the Milky Way Galaxy, also known as the Plazith Rim Galaxy. It is a huge spiral galaxy at around 100,000-120,000 light years in diameter, full of civilizations, mysteries and much else. The Milky Way is between 100 and 120 thousand light years across, and contains over 400 billion stars. It is one of the largest and most influential galaxies in the Local group of galaxies.
The Milky Way completes a full rotation about once every 50 million years. The disk is about 1,000 light years thick and the bulge is about 12,000 light years thick. The halo that surrounds the disk and arms is 180,000 light years thick, and contains mostly old stars and hypervelocity stars that have been kicked out of the galaxy by the Galactic core. The Halo is a very poor place to colonize and contains few planets with life and fewer colonies than the disk. The DCP has colonised Far Star, named after a comet in the Chilius system. The Halo also contains globular clusters and some dwarf galaxies that are getting shredded and absorbed into the Milky Way.
The Milky Way does not have one dominant faction, but does contain very large and powerful empires. The Milky Way is a very big galaxy compared to most, and has over 400 billion stars, so there is lots of room for many, many factions. Because there is so many, it would be very difficult to create one large alliance or even conquer the entire galaxy, although the DCP's territories are expanding more quickly than most. There was an extinct galactic empire that existed millions of years ago known as the Coadunation of Autonomous Beings, but the members such as the Naucean are thought to have ascended.
There are over 10,000 civilizations inhabiting the Milky Way (although the majority are Tier 6 to 4, avoid contact or are in the far reaches, and remain unknown). Most are very alien (Tier U), and rarely interact with other empires or are interested in galactic affairs. However, some of the more powerful empires do. Some civilizations don't make it long after their discovery of nuclear energy, this means finding dead radioactive worlds is not too uncommon. The Galactic Core is rather devoid of normal life, due to the intense radiation, with only the harshest of life forms like the Grox surviving, and the Galactic Halo contains mostly low metallicity old stars, meaning life is also less common. Civilizations tend to exist in certain space environments that are calmer, and thus can form quite closely to each other.
Among the civilizations in the Galaxy, a particularly interesting one - the Tadpole Empire - is located in the Norma-Outer Arm, right outside the Katar Sector. They are a race of sentient larvaes who did not evolve into more advanced Amphibians, such as Frogs and Toads. Regardless, they are capable of Space Travel and have a quite high technological achievement.
The Empire also has a particuarly famous Captain, Ambassador Girine. She is pretty famous and a great Captain, but recently she has been passing more time in her Homeworld's surface, particularly in Frogtopia, the Empire's capital.
*Incomming Transmission from the Grand Council!*
"Ehh....what?!" she mumbled as she was woken from her nap. She sleepily walked up to the transmissor where it was beeping consistently to indicate there was an incomming transmission. She pressed the big blue button to enable communication. "Hello?"
"Good afternoon, Girine. It's me, Hapte." Hapte answered in the transmission. Hapte was the leader of the Empire. "Oh, it seems I woke you during your nap. My excuses, but this is important." he continued.
"How can I help the leader and the Empire?" she asked, knowing she was talking to the King.
"It's too important to be explained in a transmission. Meet me in the City Hall, quick. Grand Council out." he replied, ending the transmission. Girine quickly went to the bathroom to wash her face to get rid of the 'sleepy' state. Afterwards she left her house and went towards the City Hall.
A walk later...
The space captain reached the City Hall a few minutes later. Thankfully, it wasn't blatantly far as in the other side of the city, but she did spent 13 minutes to reach it. There, she was greeted by two Tadpole Troopers, guarding the gates. Since she both was a famed Space Captain, and friends with the King, she could enter the Hall with relatively no problem.
"Ah, there you are, Girine." Hapte said as he spotted her. "Please, follow me indoors." he invited. He walked inside the Hall, with Girine following short behind.
"Okay, we have done a quick research on other Empires, and we discovered that compared to them, we have a very few star count." He briefed. "Most others have about 900 star systems, while others have 1300, and some even have 2500, while all we have are 502 star systems under our control!" he added.
"Wow, we're underpowered." She commented.
"Exactly. That's why I want you to fly over star systems and candidate them for colonizing. Afterwards, we will review the star systems to see if they're benefitial, and then send starships to colonize the star systems that are deemed valuable." He instructed. "You'll also be accompanyed by our Head inventor, Professor Colet. You might have heard of him." he added.
"Oh yeah, I heard of him, nice scientist." she commented.
"Well, he and your spaceship are waiting over there, on the shuttle docks." Hapte notified as he pointed towards the docks, visible through a large window. Girine nodded, and headed towards it.
"Oh, hello. I suppose you're Girine, the captain I'm supposed to accompany?" Colet asked as he spotted Girine.
"Yes, it's me. Hapte told me you were waiting here. He instructed me of our mission." she answered.
"Oh, I see. Well, what are we waiting for? Let's board the shuttle!" he replied. The two boarded the space shuttle, where it flew into high atmosphere where a drydock containing the Spaceships was located. The shuttle then entered a bigger mothership. Afterwards, Girine went into the Pilot room and flew out of the planet.
Some time later...
The spaceship was alterady many light years away from the homeworld, scanning star systems.
"Well, how about that one?" Girine suggested, pointing to a OM Binary system.
"That one has Green and Pink spice. Good suggestion." Colet replied as he wrote in a holographic notepad.
"Hey, look at that star!" Girine called out. "It's a BLOCK!" she added.
"Really? But that's impossible!" Colet said as he went near the windshield. True to her words, the star was indeed a cube. The spaceship flew closer to it. Unexpectedly, a spaceship revealed to be camping in that star system, and immediatly began attacking.
"It's an ambush!" Colet said as the spaceship began attacking.
"I know! I'm trying to hit it with the Mega Proton Missiles, but it is an ace at dodging!" Girine said as she repeteadly tapped the 'Fire Mega Proton Missile' while aiming at the ship.
*The spaceship rumbles after being hit by a Torpedo*
"Have you tried the Mega Laser?" the scientist asked.
"Oh yeah, the Mega Laser!" the captain said as she tried to fire the laser. However, the laser seemed to be completely nullified as the spaceship had shields enabled on it. "Not working!" she said with a worried tone.
*The spaceship rumbles again after being hit by another Missile*
"Last plan! Run away then fire an Anti-Matter Missile!" Colet suggested. Girine nodded, and flew away from the spaceship. As expected, it bit the bait and chased. She looked at the button saying 'DANGEROUS! DO NOT PRESS!', and pressed it with all her strength. An Anti-Matter missile was deployed, and targeted the nearest spaceship, the pirate following them. The pirate spaceship instantly braked upon seeing the missile.
*BOOM*
"Phew, that was close." Girine commented.
"Uh oh...according to this screen, the spaceship has suffered heavy damage." Colet warned. "We should do an emergency landing to review the spaceship." he added.
"The closest planet is that one...which is also a block!" Girine replied as she pointed to a cube planet. She flew towards it.
The spaceship reached it's atmosphere, but after a few seconds, it started to rumble.
"Uh oh...we ran out of energy. We're gonna fall!" Colet said. The spaceship immediatly started falling into the ground, and crashed in the top of a hill.
The sun shined in the land of Minecraft. One person named 'Steve(?)' awoke from his sleep as the sunlight flooded his eyes.
"Well, another day of work." Steve said as he got up.
Steve was a man of work. Since he had nothing else to do on the world, he gave himself daily chores. The first one was to lumberjack. Collecting wood from trees was a priority to him, as wood was the base of everything. Even if you lived in a world where all blocks were made of Diamonds, you'd still be screwed as you'd have no wood to make a pickaxe handle.
He walked up to his chest, picked his Iron Axe, and made his way to a nearby forest, possessing the highest ammount of trees he has ever seen. He began cutting the trees.
Lots of wood were collected. Similarly, many trees were slaughtered during that time, but saplings were placed at where the former trees once lived. That was a way to prevent total destruction of the flora.
"Well, now that the wood has been taken care of, it's time to mine." Steve said. Immediatly, he went back to his house to get his pickaxe.
Mining was his main activity. It's how he gets stronger tools and better builds. Steve has been mining for long, though he still has to find the most valuable resource - diamonds. They're the strongest type of resource he has ever found. Steve has only gotten one diamond, though three are needed to make the mighty Diamond Pickaxe.
Regardless, Steve has sworn he will find Diamonds, and as such mines every day in an attempt to find the diamonds he needs. He opened his chest, put in his Axe, took his Pickaxe and made his way to his Mineshaft.
The mineshaft entrance was a basic staircase-style walkway, with torches to make the cave well-lit. It had nothing really interesting, but the path was long and very deep. Steve reached the floor of the mine and proceed to explore it to attempt to find diamonds.
It was alterady midday by the time Steve finished mining. By that time, he had gotten more Redstone, Iron and Gold, but unfortunaly no Diamonds were spotted. Not even Lapis Lazuli. Steve was about to enter his house to store his loot, when he saw somebody approaching his house.
"Hey, Steve!" it said. Steve quickly recognized the voice.
"Oh, hey, Cupa. What's up?" Steve asked to the Creeper. So far, Cupa was the only friendly Creeper he has met. In fact, the only friendly monster he has found.
"Remember how I mentioned me and Andr were making a hot air balloon? We finished it this morning." she said. "We can fly through the sky now!"
"Oh, great!" Steve commented. "Well, I can leave farming for later. We can go right now! Let me just store my items in the chest." he said. He headed inside his house, and then came out moments later. "Let's go!" he said. The two then started to head into where the air balloon was.
The hot-air balloon was composed of a resistant Oak wood base, with string(used with permission) connecting the base to a furnace, using coal as fuel to eject hot air into a leather balloon located right above the furnace. It was rather basic, but was good-lookin'.
It flew rather high, too. The view of the land down there was stunningly amazing. The trees looked like well-kept grass, the hills were neatly tidy, and the Pigs, Cows and Sheep looked so tiny you could squeeze them.
"Uh, what's that...?" Steve asked as he pointed to a falling object in the distance.
"...Looks like a meteor of some sorts..." Cupa commented as the object was encased in fire and smoke. Eventually, the object fell to the floor, causing a cloud of smoke and dirt, as well as a flash of light and a loud noise. Steve and Cupa looked at each other with a surprised look.
"Ooooowww....my heaad...." Girine mumbled as she climbed out of the spaceship through the escape hatch. Instantly, she fell to the floor with an aching head. Soon after, Colet climbed aswell through the hatch.
"Ouch..." he said as he rubbed his head. "Looks like we got lucky. One fall like this could very well kill us! I have to do some research in the spaceship to discover how it protected us!" he said. His emotion dropped when he looked at the spaceship. "Uh oh..."
The spaceship was destroyed. Parts fell apart, the hull was heavily damaged, and some areas were ignited. Shortly after, one of the Plasma Jets dropped from the ship and collapsed to the floor, making a loud THUD.
"Wow, now that's some heavy damage!" Girine commented as she got up and looked at the spaceship. "Now how will we leave the planet?" she asked.
"The only way now is to send a distress signal and pray that somebody captures the signal and rescues us." Colet said. He picked up his portable device and tried to acess the radio system. "This is bad...." he said. "Radar systems are offline. Someone, or something is blocking acess to our Empire." he explained.
"Oh god! We're stuck! We're stuck in some random, foreign, cuboid planet filled with cubes and nothing else but cubes! AAAAGHHHH!" Girine cried as she started to run around screaming.
"Girine, calm down!!! We're not stranded here for all eternity!!" Colet yelled. "The only way we can escape is to repair the spaceship." he said.
"But how will we repair it? I don't see any repair tools around here." she replied as she rubbed her eyes.
"This is an exploration spaceship. It should have repair packs around the Cargo area, I'm sure of it." he answered. He then walked to the spaceship's back - the only part of the spaceship that wasn't damaged at all - where the Cargo Hold was located.
The scientist opened the cargo gate, finding two repair packs and a red spice box. Colet picked the repair packs, then shut the cargo gate, as the red spice wasn't needed currently.
"See? Repair packs." he said, showing the repair packs. "Now all we need is to-"
"But those Repair packs are only automated if the ship is active and running. If it's in the state that it is right now, or completely destroyed, then we need to do it manually, which takes more time." Girine countered as she wiped out a teardrop.
Colet was left speechless, as the now-depressed captain was right. Even though they had Repair packs, it would take quite a long time to repair the spaceship.
"Don't worry, we'll be safe. The planet has water and fruit, exactly what we need to survive. We will still be alive when we finish repairing the space ship," he tried to cheer her up. He then proceeded to open the Repair pack to take the repair tools.
"Wow, that was quite a crash. Did you see the enormous dust cloud that formed when it crashed?" Cupa commented.
"Yeah. That doesn't seems to be a meteor at all." Steve replied. "Should we investigate?" he suggested.
"Better inspect than to let it be. Who knows, it might be a saucer from the Kitten homeworld that wants to rule the planet!" she answered. Steve chuckled a bit, then the two set the hot air balloon to follow the crashed spaceship.
The crash site was a total wasteland. It was a large, but very shallow crater of dirt, with fires and destroyed trees around it. Dead Cows and Pigs can also be found, killed by the explosion's splash radius.
"Dear God...how can one spaceship cause so much damage?" Steve thought out loud.
The two walked up to the crashed alien spaceship. It's front was buried underground, most of the hull was heavily damaged and falling apart, and only the rear was spared from damage, which was sticking upwards. However, the two could hear voices comming from the other side.
"Ne cures, ut tutus eris. Aquam planeta fructum iuxta quod ad uiuendum. Nos viveret cum consummaveris spatium navi conponentes," a voice said. Curious, the two looked at the other side of the spaceship.
There were two aliens!
Apparently, one of the aliens was a male and was attempting to repair the spaceship, while the other, a female, was sitting down in the floor. However, the female alien noticed the strange present and turned her head to the left, facing Steve and Cupa. The two immediatly hid behind the spaceship.
"Did she saw us?" the Creeper quietly asked.
"I don't know." Steve answered.
"Salve? Ecquis adest?" the alien said.
"Hello? Anyone there?" Girine asked as she got up.
"Did you see someone?" Colet asked.
"I saw two faces looking over there, and when I looked at them, they quickly retreated." Girine answered.
"Should we check who they are, then?" the scientist asked. Girine replied with a nod. Cautiously, the two walked around the spaceship to find who was there.
The two Minecraft dwellers quickly noticed the sound of footsteps, which got gradually louder.
"They're comming! What should we do?" the Creeper panicked.
"Keep a good posture. If we act nice, they might not kill us." Steve answered. "After all, not all aliens might be evil."
"But what if they ARE evil?" Cupa replied.
"I'll think of a solution." Steve said. "Now don't need to worry, I'll have everything under control...and why you are pale?" he asked. Cupa simply pointed behind him.
Steve turned around, to find the two small 'extraminecrafters' staring at them.
"Uhh....hello, small alien guys..." Steve said awkwardly as he slowly waved.
"Uh, salve. Tu prudentiam quæ dico?" the female alien asked.
"What she's saying? I don't understand anything!" Cupa said.
"They don't seem to be understanding what I say." Girine said to Colet.
"Huh, something must be wrong with the SETI translator. Let me check..." Colet said as he picked up his portable device again, and proceeded to research the online systems. "Aha! The crash deactivated the SETI device somehow. Let me reactivate it..." he said.
Steve and Cupa just stood staring at the scientist alien messing with the odd device, wondering what he was doing. However, shortly after that, the small satellite dishes on both aliens' helmet started swirling, and a loud wave of sound emitted from the radars. After that, the loud wave stopped, being followed by more, but mcuh less loud waves.
"If I did it correctly, you now should be able to understand what we say through advanced translating technology." the scientist alien said.
"...Actually, I can undertand you now." Steve replied. "Well, who are you two?" he asked.
"I am Professor Colet, the head-scientist of the Tadpole Empire." Colet introduced himself. "And this is Ambassador Girine, a well-known space captain, also from the Tadpole Empire." he added.
"And who are you two?" Girine asked.
"Well, I'm Steve. I'm not from any 'Empire', as I don't even know how I got here. I simply appeared, and then had to survive." Steve introduced himself. "And this is Cupa, the only friendly monster I have met. She's my only friend." he added.
"Wait right there! You are friends with a GREEN PENIS?!" Girine asked in shock.
"Wha-HEY! Who are you calling a Green Penis?!" Cupa replied angrily, and started to head furiously towards Girine, but was held back by Steve.
"Well, you look like one." Girine blatantly said.
"Hey! Watch your mouth! Nobody here is a green penis!" Steve said.
"Yeah...honestly you should watch what you say to avoid conflicts." Colet added. "By the way, we have filters, not mouths." he added.
"Whatever. Anyway, if you're bothered so much about her appearance, then wear those goggles." Steve said as he picked goggles that resembled nightvision goggles, and tossed it lightly at the skeptical captain, letting go of Cupa in the process. Girine then picked up the goggles, and wore them.
"Wow, that's a big difference!" Girine commented.
Now, instead of looking like a crunchy green walking penis, Cupa now looked like a Young Adult bearing a green hoodie with a face resembling the same face she had before now imprinted on the hoodie. She also had orange hair, and black pants. Obviously, she was still annoyed at Girine. The only thing that was odd is that Steve was still blocky.
"Let me see." Colet said as he picked the goggles and wore them. "Wow! They're amazing! I HAVE to reverse-engineer those goggles!" he said with joy. However, his joy disappeared as he turned around to face his spaceship. "...if I had a place to do so." he said.
"Well, it IS getting late...would you like to stay over at my house?" Steve offered.
"Yeah, we don't have anywhere to stay in, except in the ruins of our crashed spaceship." Colet replied. With that, the foursome set off to walk towards Steve's house.
Due to the fact that noone gave feedback to this for ONE ENTIRE DAY, I guess noody cares about this useless piece of text and that it'd be better for everyone that I stop writing
I think I should discontinue this.
Nonsense! Utter nonsense! Your story may be not viewed that much ir commented in, but I presume that is because it is a Spore crossiver. The story is fine!
AND NOW GO WRITE THE NEXT CHAPTER !!!1!11!!
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Would you like to know the atomic structure of a piece of bread?
Oh mai. Someone else who still enjoys SPORE! Don't worry about people neglecting to reply to your story. Reading is not a popular habit among people, and only a very few stories ever get famous. It's quite hard to start out, because people just don't like reading a story with only a single chapter to its name, but don't lose heart! I think it's quite good, and you should definitely continue.

Thanks for the positive comment! I'll try to make Chapter 2 today.
WHEE!! Wonder how they'll deal with something non-cuboid suddenly crashing into their midst like that. Especially since the newcomers speak in a completely different language.

To be Continued...
I think I should discontinue this.
AND NOW GO WRITE THE NEXT CHAPTER !!!1!11!!
TT2000, you are genius.
It's shorter than the Prologue, I know. But it's all I could think of.
