Part I
"Mommy, when will daddy be back?" My daughter asked, her eyes sparkling in the moonlight than shone through the open window. I looked down at the ground and sighed. "I don't know, honey. He'll be back soon," I said, tucking her in and giving her a kiss on the forehead. "I promise." I told her, before leaving her room. I leaned against her door, worry washed over me in an enormous wave. Why isn't he home yet? I've never really worried about him when he went out to hunt, but this time I was beginning to think of the worst. What if a creeper blew him up? Or a skeleton shot him with an enchanted bow? He had no protection on, I know that. All he took with him was a bow, a diamond sword, and some arrows. Since we live in a forest, miles away from the nearest city, it's hard for us to find the things we need, so we have to go out and get them on our own, rather than going to a store in the city and buying it. I visit the city sometimes, when I feel like taking the pig out for a ride. Actually, I might go to the city tomorrow. I need to get some milk and wheat. I plan on baking a delicious cake for Emmy and I tomorrow evening.
Suddenly, there's banging and scratching at the front door. Oh no! Zombies! I run to my bedroom at the end of the hall and blindly grab my sword. Thank heavens I didn't grab it's sharp blade. I've never fought a monster. Never had to, since Henry was always there for me. I'm willing to kill something for my daughters safety, though. I wearily walk down the stairs. The banging had stopped, but I had to make sure. Had they gotten inside? My hand ran against the wall, searching for a light switch. It was terrifyingly dark in the house. As I searched for the light switch, I heard feet dragging on the floor, coming towards me. I turned around slowly, not even daring to breathe. The zombie groaned, it's voice echoing through the whole house. I held the sword firmly in my hand, squeezing my eyes shut. The zombie sniffed, moaned again, and then the foot steps got faster, and faster, and faster.
Henry! Help me, please!
