Hi everyone, I've been considering writing about this for some time now, a little less than a year, and it has taken me some courage to man up and do this.
About a year ago, a freind named Jim and I were talking about video games, sharing our favorites with each other, and really trying to put over the games that each other had never played. For me, It has always been about story games, my favorite being Deus Ex. I was telling him about how intricate the story was, how it sucked you in and made you want to learn everything. Jim was very taken by the game, telling me that it now was one of his favorites of all time.
Then Jim asked me if i had ever played Minecraft. I hadn't, though I had heard of the game and was genuinely interested. Jim told me that he simply couldn't play it any more, that he thought about it too much, and it dominated his time. So he asked me if I'd like to use his login and password and download the game to give it a try for free, then I could decide weather I wanted to buy it or not. It sounded like a pretty good deal to me, so I agreed.
I went to the minecraft website, and downloaded the game. I had never played before, but I knew the general premise. Build stuff, farm stuff, and so on. Upon getting logged into the game using Jim's information, I selected single player, and was kind of suprised to see that there was a world already there. I have come to find out since that this is normally not the case. I wish I had known that beforehand, honestly, because at least then I would have known something was wrong.
The world was called "Mineworlddd". I'm not very computer savvy, and as I said I had never even really seen Minecraft before, so I just loaded it up and went ahead. I spawned next to the ocean, and I could see that not too far in the distance was an enormous tower with two bridges extending off of it, following the coasts. I went to the top to get an idea of what kind of geography the land had, and the view was quite nice. One of the bridges, which was heading north, had a minecart track on it, but I didn't have a minecart yet so I ignored it. I later found out that this bridge lead to an "npc Village". There was nothing out of the ordinary with this except, I suppose, for the existence of the structure itself.
More inland was a rather large, fully furnished castle. It was at the end of a road with a minecart path, leading from the huge tower to the castle. It had chests full of anything I would ever need, tons of diamond, rare materials, everything. There were farms for everything you could grow, a huge alchemy room, and pits behind doors that had every kind of animal (except pigs, for some reason) sectioned off. The sheep even had grass to eat instead of a dirt floor like the rest had. I have learned that this is so you can farm wool.
There was a bed room in this castle, complete with an ever burning fireplace, a map of the immediate area, and some decorative items in frames on the wall. I was suprised that the game would start you this far ahead, it literally seemed that there was nothing more for me to do once I found this castle. It had EVERYTHING!
There was another road leading north in front of this castle. The one leading to the huge tower, which a sign next to the road called the "skybridge", zig-zagged to the south, while the road heading north apparantly lead to what the sign called "Sand Castle". I took a minecart from one of the chests, and decided to check it out.
Sand Castle was far less furnished than the first castle, and in the middle of a desert biome. In fact, by comparison it was virtually empty. On the top floor, though, I found a sign that read "Our Hero is in the ocean. You were wise to head north.". Hero was capitalized like that, I don't know if it was a typo or what. Of course this made me think. It seemd like the game was giving me a clue. I hadn't seen any ocean when heading north from the spawn point, only the one to the south of "skybridge". So I decided to see if there was anything in that ocean.
Now standing on the coast, I could see that there was indeed something in the ocean. Where the ocean floor should have been, there was a field of glass, with glowstone mixed in here and there. If not for the glowstone, I never would have noticed anything down there. There was definately something under the glass, but from the coast I couldn't make out what it was. On the edge of the coast, in a small little cave, was a single block of glowstone. There was a hole in the ground next to it, with a ladder leading down.
I decided to go in. I was starting to feel a little uneasy. I'm a bit claustrophobic in real life, and I didn't like the idea of burying myself. I know, if I have a problem with tight spaces, maybe Minecraft isn't the game for me. All the same, I wanted to see what this "Hero" was, and what was under the glass. I emerged into a narrow hallway lined with glowstone. An iron door at the end of the hallway opened when I pressed the stone button next to it. I walked through, and of course it slammed shut behind me, as Iron doors in minecraft do. There was a block of glowstone above the door, so I could at least see a bit in front of me. There was no button to activate the door on this side.
I looked up, and there was the glass. I was further down then I thought I'd be, the cieling, made of glass, was too high up for the glowstone mixed in to shed any real light on my surroundings. I had only brought basic tools with me, and no torches or glowstone. Man it was dark. But because of the glowstone above the door, I knew that before me was what seemd to be a forest. I decided to head in to check it out rather than go back for more tools, I could have busted the door down if I had wanted to, but I really wanted to explore this place.
It took me quite a while to get through the forest. I didn't want to break anything in here, as in case this was Jim's creation (bear in mind, I was very new to the game) I didn't want to ruin any of his hard work. There only seemed to be one path through the trees, and it took me a while to get through. There were enemies throughout, and I went out of my way to not let creepers destroy the forest after one blew up next to me and caused quite a bit of damage.
When I emerged from the forest, there was a Netherbrick path leading to a large fire surrounded by skeleton heads on fence posts. There were four or five houses around the fire, too, and at first I thought this was an NPC village, but the houses were all empty, except for one. One house had an iron shovel in an item frame on the wall, with a journal on a wooden block next to it. I read the journal, and it stated: "Buried another one today. That Hero needs to leave us alone. We never wanted to come here.". There was a backdoor on this house that lead to a small stretch of grass with 8 or 10 2x1 blocks of dirt. Each had a sign at one end with a name written on it. I can't remember any of the names, but it seemed apparant to me that these were graves.
I went back to the "town square" which I'll call the fire with the skulls around it. The only other thing under the ocean, here, was a very large "L" shaped building. It was construced out of cobblestone and mossy cobblestone. I was struck by how the moss was somewhat realistic, in that it seemed to grow the tallest in the areas nearest the forest, and on the corners of this building. There was only one entrance, and in the dark I wouldn't have been able to find it if not for another nether brick road leading right up to it from the town square.
There was a sign next to the entrance that read "Hero castle". I decided to go in. I can't recall the exact configuration of this castle, but it seemd to be constructed in a way to make it difficult to navigate. Most rooms three doors, each leading to a different room, and after a while I had no idea where I was in relation to the entrance. Several rooms were completely empty, and even more were booby-trapped. One thing that I noticed is that these traps didn't seem to be designed to be fatal. Most would simply be sprung, and hurt you a bit, before letting you go free. For example one room, which was completely dark, closed in on itself when I reached the center, crushing my character for just a couple of seconds before releasing me. It only caused me a few hearts of damage, and I had brought food, so I was able to heal up. Some rooms had enemies in them, typically the dark ones, but these were the least threatening things in the place.
Several rooms would shoot arrows out of the walls through fire as you walked through them, one room flooded with water as soon as I opened the door, two rooms actually reconfigured themselves when I reached the center, so that the entrance became solid wall and a new gap onened up for me to continue. Eventually I came to a long hallway lit with torches. Also lining the walls were player character heads, at least thirty on each side. At the end of this hallway was a dark room with a single piece of glowstone in the cieling, above a chest. I wanted to see what was in this chest, but unfortunately I have never been able to find out, because as I approached it, the floor was removed from beneath my character and I fell deeper underground, far enough to bring me down to two hearts.
I landed in a small chamber with a door on one side, and what appeared to a long tunnel made out of obsidion opposite the door. There was a sign in front of the tunnel that read "Turn back". I took the sign's advice and chose the door. I was pretty sure that the only thing in that tunnel is a trap to kill the character. None of the other rooms had warning signs. Through the door was a long, twisting hallway with torches sporadically placed to give minimal light, just enough to see where I was going. While traversing this hall, I thought I saw something moving every time I rounded a corner, as if I was following someone else who was just a little bit ahead of me.
After what seemed like several minutes, I came to yet another hallway, but this one was much more well lit. The thing that I tohught I had seen wasn't around, but I realized immediately that I was in some kind of prison. There were cells constructed out of iron bars on both sides of the hallway, and most cells had villagers in them. I felt uneasy at how they would stare at me as I was walking by. A few of the cells were empty except for having skeleton heads on fence posts, just like the "town square" from earlier. At the end of this hallway was just a solid wall, with a sign on it. The sign read "If you released any of my friends, then I am going to kill you.".
I went back through the prison hallway, the way I had come, and I still didn't release any of the villagers, who had become much more lively. They were scrambling around their cells, hardly ever stopping. Most were just walking in tight circles, as their cells were not very big. As I approached the exit of the prison hall, leading back into the winding hallway, I noticed a lever that I suppose I had just passed up as I entered the prison. I was curious, it was possible that I just hadn't seen it coming in, but it stuck out now, and I couldn't believe I missed it. I decided to tempt fate and threw the lever. I expected it to open the bars and let the prisoners out. Hey, if I had to go through that tunnel, I may as well earn whatever was coming.
It didn't release the prisioners. Instead, the cieling of the cell closest to the lever opened up, and lava poured into the cell, burning the poor villager inside. The block above the lever was gone, too, and the block behind it had a sign on it. This sign said "HE WAS MINE. YOU WILL PAY" in all capitals. I figured something would happen next, but nothing did. I explored around the prison a bit more, looking for anything new or anything that I hadn't noticed, but there was nothing. All of the villagers were calm again, just staring at me. So I went back down the hall.
When I reached the chamber with the door on one side and the obsidion tunnel on the other, I noticed that the block above the sign was gone, and the one behind it had a sign too. It read "I warned you. Come in here and accept your fate.". I stepped in, and the tunnel immediately banked to the left. I figured it was straight, but it was too dark inside to tell form the entrance. As I rounded the corner, I thought maybe at the end of the long tunnel was a mirror or something, because it looked like my character at the far end of the tunnel. I froze, heart racing, as what I thought was my reflection turned around and walked away. I decided to try and follow, but a few steps in the path both behind me and ahead of became sealed with more obsidion. The cieling opened up and light flooded the small area I was now enclosed in. Lava began pouring in. Before my character became engulfed, I noticed a sign on the wall to my left (not one of the walls that had closed me in) that read "You earned this.". A few seconds later my character burned to death.
I logged out after this, but I have since reloaded this world. Every single time I do, it is exactly the same. It does not seem to save like the worlds I have made since downloading the game. I have asked Jim about it, but every time I bring it up he says that he doesn't want to talk about it. I've stopped bringing it up, because after one conversation with him where I just wouldn't let up on the subject, he told me that if I brought it up one more time he would never speak to me again. The best I could get out of him was that he didn't want his login back, and he reiterated to me that he just didn't want to think about Minecraft anymore. So I hope Jim never reads this, because he really is a good friend and I don't want to lose that. I wanted to post this, though, because I haven't heard of something like this happening in Minecraft. I now have my own login information, and "Mineworlddd" is still there in all of it's "glory".
It scares me to even read the name of the world, but I can't bring myself to delete it.
You can bump an old thread, but this just takes unnecessary space!
That being said, this Creepypasta (I suppose it is) is the only one that managed to scare me.
Applause!

No of course you can post it here if you were told to post somewhere else.
Jst don't repost threads in the same section over and over...
