What if you're not a simple Steve, the native of Minecraftia? What if you were an unlucky soul, the lone survivor of a horrible shipwreck?
Chapter 1 - Rocky Start
February 27th, 910 AD
The lands of Minecraftia, an untouched continent filled with precious materials and milk and honey.Or so we're told. The King has sent our team out to colonize this fabled land. The place is relatively untouched, which strikes me as odd, such a lush and valuable place with no one fighting over it.
Our team consists of me, Jace, Felix, Saphir, Marco, Daniel, Kote, and a couple testificates from scouting missions, they supposedly are willing to act as guides for some emeralds. We have been sent in the crown jewel of the royal fleet, Harmony, an old wooden warship that's been converted to a trireme. We have about a year's worth of supplies and enough resources to kick start a small village.
We're a few months into our voyage, and we've just sighted a beach. The King gave me a personal order to record our progress and supplies.
We should hit land by morning. I'll be writing an entry tomorrow.
March 2nd, 910 AD
This may be our last night alive, the Harmony had a small incident. A chest of coal that wasn't nailed down collided with the furnaces overnight. We didn't notice the fire until the situation was far past gone. We crashed into the beach, which turned out to be a desert. Most of the testificates either drowned or burned, and Kote was trapped in the fuel room when the blaze started. Whether he got trapped or stayed too long trying to control the fire, we don't know, but he didn't make it.
Now it's just me, Felix, Saphir, Marco, Jace, and Dan.

I'll never forget that taste, raw meat. We thought we were done for yesterday, then we found a herd of cows. Had us sick all day, sometimes you just have to survive though. We had to book it all day to make it to a less hostile area. Haven't had time to write in a while.
We've gotten to work on setting up a more reliable and less sickening food source, and building the foundation to our village. We'll be bunking in a dirt hovel dug into a small hill tonight.
All we have is some basic tools and some water. At this point it looks like we're simply delaying the inevitable.
March 6th, 910AD
The loss of Kote must have hit the guys harder than I originally thought. They say they hear groaning and hissing at night and they swore they could see a walking green stick the other night. I told them to get some sleep.
Chapter 2 - Good Fortune
March 7th, 910AD
While out on a scouting mission, Felix and Saphir found a ravine, said they could see iron and coal. I'll see if I can get them some supplies and send them on an expedition soon.
March 9th, 910AD
Two notable events, we've started a farm so we have a more reliable food source then wondering farm animals. We've also lowered Felix and Saphir into the ravine. They're supposed to come back with some iron and coal as soon as they can. Some torches and a good fuel for our makeshift furnace would greatly improve our situation. Also some smoked pork sounds pretty good.
March 11th, 910AD
They spent two days down there. We were digging their graves when they waked into camp with satchel-fulls of bits of iron and coal. And pouches of this weird red powdery material. I've got Dan to work on refining the iron and hopefully making it into some tools that'll actually do something. Kind of wondering what this red stuff is. They say they found floors of obsidian and pits of lava. Sounds dangerous, but possibly lucrative.
March 12th, 910AD
Felix ran off with a good portion of the supplies he brought back from the expedition. Said something about seeing some people in the distance, wanted to see who they were. Damn fool could have at least left some of the excess ores he brought. Had about 50 unrefined iron pieces on him. Got a bad feeling about this.
March 14th, 910AD
Felix is still gone, don't know where he went. If he deserted, God help him if I ever meet up with him again.
This is certainly different. There are many stories stating "I woke up on a beech..." or something of the sort, but yours explains what you were doing, and how you got there. It is also written in a journal/diary fashion, which is, surprisingly, pretty uncommon. You could have this story added to the Minefic story list, if you would like. All you have to do is click where it says "Minefic" in my signature, and you will be taken to the main page where you should see the format in which to 'apply' for a spot on the list.
