You’re thrown into a bright and beautiful landscape. There are some lovely piggys, some chickens, and even a few moo cows. The trees sway with the breeze, and even though everything is made of squares it still looks breath taking. But you can’t stand around all day or you will surely be brutally exploded, riddled with arrows, or missing your brain. Look high up in the air seeing the sky, and how the sun is directly above you. This means you have five minutes until they start coming for you. If it was not obvious enough already, the first thing you need to do is punch as many trees as possible before dawn!
After gathering as much wood you can, it’s time to craft! First you’ll need to turn your wood logs into planks by placing them in your head and thinking really really hard. If successful you should now have four wooden planks for every log. The next thing is a crafting table to start creating tools. It only takes four wooden planks in your head, and poof! Crafting table. You should start by making sticks, which is two planks on top of each other. For every two planks, you’ll get four sticks.
Now for your first tool, the sword. Simply put two planks on a stick and you have just created your very first wooden sword! Now, time to put it to use. Quickly slaughter all of those animals you saw a little while back. It doesn’t even have to be humane really, anything you do wouldn’t compare to what they will do to you at night. Now that you have some food, build a quick shelter out of your wood planks, or dirt, whichever floats your boat. But save three planks to put across a stick.
Now you have made the most important tool of your time being on this square world, the pickaxe! In your “house” start digging down. No need to look out the window and see what horrors camp your doorway. After digging through a few layers of dirt you’ll find stone. Mine it with your amazingly slow and weak wooden pickaxe to get cobble stone. This can be used to make better and stronger tools for quicker mining and a more efficient way of the slaughtering/genocide of pigs.
Go back up to your house, ignoring the bone clattering and hissing noises, and make yourself a stone pickaxe. Now you can go get coal! Once you’ve done that put that coal on a stick and light it for a torch. This will keep them away. Wait the night out, and after the smell of fire and sounds of moans stop, go light everywhere around your house up with torches. You have now successfully survived your first night in Minecraftia!
