I let a slight grin break out on my face as a squirrel ran by my foot and off the path to a redwood tree.
“So what do you think your majesty?” asked Arthur, one of my four royal guards.
“I’m sorry Arthur, what was that?”
“I was wondering whether you would like me and Bernard to guard the castle gates each night or continue as we are now, with you”
“I think it for the best for you to guard the gates. As you were, I want to walk around the town for a while” I replied and walked down the stairs, taking in a deep breath of fresh air as I did. As I walked down the stairs, I caught the squirrel situated alongside the path chewing upon a nut. What a simplistic life these creatures live, I thought. Not a worry in the world.
I continued down the cobblestone pathway, my hands behind my back, simply taking in the pleasure of the city I had raised from the ground. The city that was now occupied by hundreds. My city. My kingdom. As I walked along my path, I overheard Ava talking to her husband Bayard, I knew them well and would’ve liked to chat but wanted to check on some of the other townspeople. I could always strike a conversation with them tomorrow anyway. I walked past their house and their daughter Clarissa seemed excited to see me as always. She told me she hoped I was having fun today from the window and popped back up at the other window with a yellow flower. She pressed it into my palm and told me it was home grown.
“Why thank you, how thoughtful Clarissa.” I smiled, smelling the aroma of the golden flower.
“Are you going to fight the evil monsters today Alistair?” she asked me.
Shivers went up my spine; I hadn’t battled a monster in a long time and had no intentions of changing that, I had no want to come face to face with those things again.
“Not today, there’s none to fight anyway, our guards are doing a good job!” I said with a forced smile, sniffing the flower before carrying on with my walk.
As I turned the corner I stopped smiling. I think her grandfather, who was at their door saw it on my face, but he remained silent as usual and just nodded to my passing. I waved to Chad the farmer and walked down the stairs before giving my greetings to the butcher. A little girl ran past and I stopped and gave her the flower Clarissa gave me earlier. I caught Arthur smiling at my actions for a second then returned to his daily patrol of the town. The little girl followed me, seemingly astounded that I had given her a flower. I never understood why people were in such awe of me. As I walked past the puppet theatre Colette asked me to spice up the show a little with one of my tales of my legendary battles against the mobs and their dreaded leader, Herobrine. I quickly ran over and took out some puppets behind the theatre, a squirrel ran by with a nut, I put my head up next to the puppet and began telling the chilling tale of when I was lost on the open plains with only a stone sword and my wits as night crept upon me like a creeper, silent and deadly, bringing the mobs with it. I wish I was still brave as I was then. I finished the show and continued around town. As I walked I cringed as my gaze landed upon a creeper held in a small cage wheeled towards the city dungeon by Arthur and Bernard. As I approached them I gazed up into the boundless skyline, listening to the noteblock choirs as they played in the sunshine.
“Your majesty, look what we found roaming the city alleyways just now,” Said Arthur.
I tried to put on a show for onlookers and frighten the mob. I pointed at it and said
“I despise these monstrosities, send this abomination to the dungeon right away.”
The creeper seemed scared enough, trying to flee from me, only hitting the cage wall. I continued my walk and made sure to avoid the dust flying from a mat someone was cleaning outside their window. I greeted Colette’s grandfather as i walked by, I think he’s one of the few who have realised what a coward I am. He grunted at me in recognition of my power then continued rocking on his chair.
I was back in my palace by sunset and called for the Jester to entertain me, Clarimond, my wife, and my daughter, Courtney. He did some juggling acts which seemed to make Clarimond happy but I was tired from my days work and decided to rest early. I had a dream from the moment I fell asleep upon my pillow. I dreamt of Arthur guarding the palace like I had told him to. Arthur, my long-time friend and royal guard. He looked as though he was about to collapse, I should have gotten him to do the night shift only.
I saw a flicker among the shadows in the trees. I tried to call out to Arthur but I was like a ghost, he couldn't hear or see me. As Arthur looked away from the small forest the shadow emerged from it, running towards Arthur. Arthur turned and saw the figure but before Arthur even had time to draw the diamond sword I had presented him with over a year ago when he became one of my royal guards, the shadow brought down a diamond pick unto his head. Luckily his helmet served as protection and as his body hit the ground I knew he wasn’t dead, yet. I caught a glimpse of the dark creatures face. It was like mine was a long time ago. There was one difference. Its eyes had no pupils. His eyeballs were white, nothing else. Just white. He opened the city gate and ran inside sprinting past Bernard without even being seen. He conjured a stack of dynamite in his hand and blew the dungeon wall to shreds. As he ran the debris of the dungeon wall rained down around him. I knew who it was. Herobrine. Bernard turned around and saw the mobs come out. I was yelling out at the top of my lungs for him to run but he charged towards the monsters. I sat up in my bed, what a horrible nightmare.
There was a squirrel trying to open a nut on my windowsill, as I got up it fled, climbing down the castle wall i suppose. I put my crown back on my head and walked into the throne room. I was glad that my nightmare was over but I was worried about it, my daughter and wife were happy though so I tried not to allow it to show. Suddenly I heard footsteps running up the stairs to the palace, I told the jester to leave. Arthur ran in with no armour, arrows sticking out of his back. Five arrows to be exact. I ran across my red carpet, now drenched in his blood to his aid.
“ARTHUR,” I cried as I ran towards him my other guards looking very worried, waiting for my orders.
Caine, one of my guards, pointed at Arthur and cried “Your majesty it's your guard, Arthur!”.
As if I didnt alreay know. Arthur collapsed on my floor and then pulled himself up.
“Arthur” I said “It's going to be ok, you are going to be fine” I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes. “The mobs” he gasped “they’re coming… my friend” then collapsed on the floor in a pool of blood.
I wanted to weep. But not in front of my daughter. I turned to my two closest soldiers.
“You two, you’re with me!” I exclaimed. They nodded as an arrow whizzed past my head like a streak of light. I walked over to my armour stand and put my crown on its head as I put the diamond helmet on mine. I wielded my diamond sword that I once used to force evil mobs to yield before me, no time to put on a breastplate.
My wife watched me looking distressed and I heard her whisper to me ever so softly “come back safely.”
As I walked out into the chaos I thought to myself even if this battle should leave me slain, I will die knowing I was important enough for Herobrine, god of death and evil to call my name. It’s better to take a stand than die. And with that I ran out down my staircase onto the battlefield slicing a skeleton in half and running through a zombie with my sword. I kicked a creeper off the stairs and went down another flight I took care of another skeleton and heard a creeper blow up near Addison, one of my soldiers. I hoped he was alright, he was only young. As I turned down towards him I saw his body lying on the floor and the ruins of where the creeper had blown up opposite me. A zombie lumbered up the staircase as more arrows flew past me. I planned to slay the zombie and take Addison’s body. But an arrow nipped my ear and I felt my blood flowing. What am I doing I thought I’m going to die. Suddenly I knew nothing but fear and I stepped backwards as I watched the zombie bite into Addison as another one clambered up the stairs. The zombie turned its attention to me and walked towards me. I turned and fled. I looked around at my city as I ran back towards my palace. My kingdom. My fallen kingdom. Families lay broken at my feet, life itself suspended by a thread so to say. As I ran I thought why is it that I wasn’t dead by the time I awoke from my sleep, why should I be alive? Why do I deserve to live?
I ran inside, Clarimond holding Courtney in her arms, both obviously worried.
I ran past bodies of my soldiers and grabbed Clarimond’s hand and yelled “RUN” as I threw down my sword and fled, pulling my love behind me. We ran as fast as we could, Courtney crying as zombies chased us. I thought if we could get over the bridge we may be able to get to the tower and have enough time to open the hidden trapdoor near the stairs and flee the kingdom. I turned and looked at them behind me.
“Everything’s going to be ok” I told them “We’re almost there!” I smiled thinking we may make it.
We might win. We might escape. I turned my head back in front of us and my wife screamed as two creepers surrounded us along with the zombies, one blew up, ripping the flag on the bridge to the tower and breaking away half of the bridge in the process. Luckily the explosion knocked the other creeper down. I took my chance I pulled my wife and daughter along with me trying to run past the fallen creeper. It didn’t work. The creeper blew up in what seemed like slow motion. I was knocked into part of the tower that was still intact, luckily. But Clarimond and Courtney were knocked back into the zombies. I looked back thinking I could slay the zombies, before realising I threw down my sword earlier like the coward I am.
I looked at Clarimond as she yelled “GO!” to me.
A zombie bit into her leg and blood poured out as she screamed. The zombie was Addison. I saw a squirrel run through my feet towards the tower. My beloved wife was a zombie also. She reared up above Courtney and lunged.
As Clarimond went to kill Courtney four words passed my daughters lips as she whispered whispered “I love you mummy.”
But that was the last time I would ever hear my family speak. All i heard now was my daughter screaming in pain at her mother tearing the flesh out of her neck as I ran. Zombies chased after me, Arthur among them. I realised my helmet was missing but kept running towards the tower, I didn't have the time nor guts to go back now. When I reached there I realised I didn’t have the time to open the trapdoor. They were to close. I ran up the stairs, being chased by my close friend Arthur, and Clarissa’s grandfather. I got to the top balcony and stared out into the distance before turning around to see them lurching towards me, teeth bared as they stumbled alongside a creeper and skeleton. I saluted them and said "you did me proud Arthur." Before jumping off the balcony and plunging into the river below.
I now reside on this balcony, remembering how I used to rule the world. I hold my crown in my hands, staring wistfully at the emerald embedded in it. I remember how chunks would load when I gave the word. I remember how Villagers would cheer my way, for a hero I was, that's what they'd say. I chuckle. One minute we had it all, next our world began to fall. They all cried for my help didn't they? But I stood there numb while I watched them die. I remember Arthur and Addison. I remember Bernard and Ava and Bayard. I could always talk to them tomorrow. I remembered thinking that. I smiled. Then I chuckled. Then I laughedhysterically. I could always talk to them tomorrow. No I couldn’t because they are DEAD. There is no tomorrow for them because they are DEAD. I laughed uncontrollably. Tomorrow?! Tomorrow?! Today is tomorrow and tomorrow shall never arrive for them for their tomorrow is today and I’m not speaking to them because they are DEAD! I remember Clarimond and Courtney, and how I abandoned them. I go from laughter to tears. I cry with my head in my hands. A squirrel comes up to me with a unopened nut. I wipe a tear away and open it for him and he climbs onto my shoulder. I manage a smile as I wipe away the tears and I cast my crown into the river below. I begin my journey down the stairs. I begin my journey to start a new kingdom. I start a new journey to get revenge. I start a new world.
Now every night I go stow away in my ruined kingdom. Watch as Herobrine sits on my ruined throne with his golden sword. I walk through my ruined palace. It’s day, Herobrine will be resting so I’m safe for now. I solemnly walk across my ruined carpet and see my armour stand, moss and vines growing from it. My eyes widen as I see my crown. Herobrine must have fished it out of the river. I pick it up and fight back tears as I remember everyone I used to know and our city. Our kingdom. I walk through the bridge to the tower as I look at the bloodstain where I watched my wife and daughter die. I walk to the tower. I sit there once more holding my crown. I look out, swearing I can hear the laughter of children in the snow covered ruins. But then they fade. Just memories. I walk back down among the streets thinking of the people I used to love and how they now haunt me and wish to kill me. I duck into an alleyway as a creeper lurks past. It’s that creeper that Arthur and Bernard caught and sent to the dungeon, I just know it. I cringe at the memories. I hide from the armies I used to slay. But not for long. I am an assassin of the day. For to the mobs day is night and night is day. I pick them off one by one with the few survivors I found. I take out of my pocket a painting of Clarimond, Courtney and I before turning my gaze to the palace. One day Herobrine. One day you will pay.
A Newcomer to commentating. Mine aren't top notch yet, but I think I do a pretty good jeb. Sometimes my vides are jonk and a carn fest. My name isn't Kris or Marc IRL, it's Top Secret. I had a few YT accounts b4, but they were junk. That is all.
You should make more paragraphs, because those chunks are very ugly xP
Kind of makes me not want to read it, even though I'm a writer myself. It's always nice/good to keep a paragraph not like that.
I can't really give much of a good feedback but I was uninterested, mostly because of how I am.
It's off of Captain Sparkle'z video, which everyone watched. That being said, we know what will happen, so it's worthless to read it unless we want to see your writing abilities.
That's what I could give that was maybe good.

Yer, setting it to look neat has always been one of my main weaknesses in writing, also thank you for implying that im a writer!

I don't know what you're talking about, but I said I was a writer. :L
Anyways, everybody's a writer. I mean, in school, you've... written school, right?
You gotta work them paragraphs and develop your writing style. Anyways, the dude above you who said this is off of CaptainSparklez, well, I never watched him before. I wouldn't know xD

lol, well it is a fanfic off of captain sparklez music video, that is true, most people have seen the video and the story is basically it told again only in a different way. Fallen Kingdom is the name of the music video. Also sorry about saying that you implied I was a writer, I was very tired and got your comment confused with something else I was reading at the time. Also thanks for replying to my fanfic
Excellent! It's always fun to see how other people did with this and not just me. The only issue I had with this is your incorporation of the song's lyrics. If you're going to reference it, do it very softly, and not with direct lines. It chops up a little of the storyline. Other than that, great! Again, great version of that horrible event.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! Sorry if the grammar and formatting got on your nerves. I'll try and be more subtle next time i do something like that in the references. Thanks for your reply to my fanfic!
