Chapter 1: The Monotonous Trek
“Come on guys! Keep up!” Steve yelled at his enervated friends. “We’re trying to! *Gasp * you’re just too brisk for us!” They retorted. Steve turned back around and continued to trek the arduous mountain. Steve, a young man in his 20’s, and his querulous friends were on a journey to find an ancient underground bastion. People rumored about what existed in the structure. Many believed there was a secret vault of diamonds and gold. Others thought there was a portal to another dimension. Steve and his friends wanted to find out what existed inside the esoteric stronghold, and they found a map directing to its location. Jens, one of Steve’s friends, collapsed at the peak where Steve awaited. “I’d rather burn in the Nether- *gasp* than go on a traipse like that again.” Steve responded “No worries! The map says the stronghold is just near that tree over there!” Jens looked over to see a tree in the distance, atop another mountain. Jens stuttered “Steve… I don’t think Jake and I can stand another climb. Jakes hasn’t even reached us!” Steve looked over to see Jake gasping for air, half way on the path. Steve responded “Well if that’s so, we could build a bridge over to the stronghold…” Steve began to pull stone cobblestone out of his pack. Jens flung his head up and screamed, “NO!!! We can’t leave any signs of us being here! If the pigmen see a bridge on their hills, they will assume humans have been infiltrating!” Jake gasped “Humans have been infiltrating what?” Jens turned to see his friend crawling on to the peak. “You know! Pigmen have yet to discover how humans are infiltrating their strongholds!” Jake retorted, “Oh yeah, sorry.” Steve looked toward the moon. “If you wimps want to make it to the destination, we’d better camp here.” “What if the pigmen see out camp and find us?!” Jake whimpered. “We’ll sleep on the mountain’s side facing away from the city.” Steve retorted. Steve pulled some bed items from his pack and placed them on the ground. “Come on, we’d better get some sleep.”
Chapter 2: The Mysterious Cavern
The next morning, Steve woke up to the sound of sheep and a bustling pigmen village. Steve looked up to see one of his friends missing. “Huh? Where did Jens go?” Steve looked around, but to no avail could see his friend. In situation like this, Steve could simply call out his friend’s name, but with an unsuspecting village nearby, he would give away their presence. Steve got up and packed his and Jens’ beds. He shook Jake awake. “Jake? Jake… Jake!” Jake launched his head up a smashed it against Steve’s. Jake gabbed in remorse, “Steve? Oh, I’m sorry. You took me by surprise-” “Never mind that!” Steve blared. “Have you seen Jens?””Over here guys!” echoed a familiar voice. “Jens?” Steve impugned. Steve bolted toward the origin of the sound. Steve approached Jens to see him observing something. “Is there something you found, Jens?” “Look at this” Answered Jens. Steve looked over to see a huge cave in the ground. “Yeah, it’s a plain old cave; so what?” “Look down it!” Jens replied. Steve came toward the cave for a better look. Suddenly, he saw a light down into it. “What is that?” “It’s some secret exit to the stronghold! We could enter it without the pigmen knowing!” Jens responded. “We’ll go for it; anything to found out what’s in there.” Steve dashed back where Jake waited. “Whad’ya find?” Jake questioned. “A faster path to the stronghold!” Steve began to put Jake’s bed into his pack. “Does include any mountain climbing?” Jake groaned. “Actually, the total opposite.” Steve replied. Jake squealed in relief. The gang slowly descended downward into the dark dreadful den. As they approached the light, they saw a large iron door in a wall of stone bricks. They heard two pigmen guards on the other side. “So, now what?” Jens whispered. Jake, who wasn’t watching where he was going, suddenly bumped into Jens. They both screamed bloody murder. Steve swung around at the two fretfully. “Shhhhh!” Steve muttered. “Do you want them to hear us?!” Abruptly, one of the pigmen asked, “Did you hear that?!” The two pigmen opened the iron door a begun walking toward the posse. Jens punched Steve’s arm.
