A man called herobrine
Book 2: Discovery

Herobrine
A single image flashed for the shortest time in my head. It was in that moment I made my decision. No, I wouldn't let that happen, no matter what it takes. I had wasted too much time, and only had one chance...

It seemed like everything slowed to a crawl, the blade was inches from Herobrine's neck when a look of horror flashed across his face.
In a split second he leaned sharply to his right and the blade only cut his shoulder, before Steve could react Herobrine twisted around grabbing his hand that held the sword. With a forceful twist, and a loud snap, the blade flew from his hand and into Herobrine's. He threw the sword to his right, sending it like a missile through two book cases and out the stained glass window, shattering the whole thing.
Before Steve could speak Herobrine twisted his hand the opposite way with another loud snap, raised his right leg and kicked him in the chest 3 times. And a massive kick to the head, he sent him flying back into his chair.
Herobrine looked tired, worn, and hurt. His head hung low he spoke: "I came to seek your wisdom, I never went through the nether wars but I fear a repeat is upon us. I see now that coming here myself was a mistake, and I'll leave you in peace now." He started walking away but I was not going to have none of it. We did not come this far for nothing.
"Please Steve, you maybe the only one who could help us. We have a village just like you. With people we care deeply about, just like you. But a new threat has presented it self, and all of our lives maybe on the line." Steve thought a moment, and asked Herobrine to wait. As he rejoined my side, Steve walked towards us rubbing his hand.
"What is this threat you speak of?". I looked at Herobrine for approval to explain, and he nodded. "We don't know, other that is a portal supposedly more powerful than the one to the neither. They have been killing those tall purple creatures and collecting their pearls to craft it." Steve's interest was peaked now, "If what I think that is... Come with me. There is only one I know that could know for sure."
A bit confused and curious, well at least I was, we walked through the walls of Steve's castle. They where so high, and beautifully made. We reached a tower in a corner, much smaller than the one Steve was in, but still massive. He opened up a large iron door and lead us deep underground. As we got further, noises of bone clattering grew louder. Herobrine looked like he had full trust in Steve, but I couldn't say the same. The noises worried me.
We finally reached a room, it was not very well lit, but a wooden hut sat in the middle with a single door. The only light came from there, but that's also where the noises seemed to come from. Before Steve opened the door, he looked as us and said "Please remain calm". When he opened the door my fear became reality. A tall skeleton stood in front of a odd purple block. What was more odd was the floating book above it he was... Reading? The whole hut seemed to consist of books, with floating symbols that all went to the odd purple block.
I was so confused, but Steve put a hand on my shoulder and smiled. "It's ok, this is Bob-" (Bob? The ****..?) "- he is our Mage you could say. Very intelligent." I was more confused, why would you name a skeleton Bob? Herobrine looked Bob In the eye and asked "Can you help us?" Bob looked to his left, and found a blue dusty book. He stretched his arm out, and the book floated to him, then to Steve.
I looked over his shoulder to read the title: "The End". Steve sighed, and muttered to himself. Herobrine saw the book, closed his eyes and said "I didn't even think of that, but I see now its far worse than I once thought..."
I was very tired of being confused, "Dammit what's going on? This is all so confusing." Steve looked up and said "Come with me and Herobrine back to my room, we will discus this there."

Thousands of enderman. A different dimension. A fate worse than the neither, and even a dragon. All this and more awaited everyone if we do not stop those people from competing this portal. It gave me a headache just thinking about it, and through out this whole conversation Jesse could only sit there and try to grasp the weight of all this.
I don't wish her to experience all this, I don't wish for anyone too. It was clear this would end in blood, but that wouldn't stop me from trying to prevent that. Steve had agreed on a signal system that reached towards my village, incase the portal was activated so his men could help fight. His men began construction on the fire pits immediately. I couldn't thank him enough, or shake the feeling that he still wished to kill me.
The book told us that it would still be a few months until the portal could work, and my villagers are not warriors, also it would take some time to for Steve and his men to reach us. After pondering this dilemma for awhile I went to inform Jesse of my plans.
"We must head back soon, but fist we should rest a bit." She looked sad, and quite worried as she held my gaze. "What are we going to do..?" "First is the village, preparation of our walls and equipment is needed. A celebration to, we don't know when we will get another chance, and at times like this fun is a rare and memorable thing."
She didn't look to pleased with the idea, "So that's it. We are just going to party to our deaths?" I wouldn't allow such talk, and I grabbed her shoulders. I saw all the fear and confusion in her eyes, and I had to remain calm. "Not us, we have a mission, we have to go see the princess." I couldn't fight back a smile thinking about seeing that little devil once again, I would need her help.
The glow of lusting for adventure started returning to her eyes, "The princess? Who is that?" "A very good friend that maybe able to help us. It's been quite awhile since I've seen her." Jesse looked more excited, and we agreed that at day break we would set off for our village.
