The Cat and the Creeper
Before I start telling my story, I should probably tell you where everything happens. I am on a different planet in a universe quite unlike the one you're in! In this universe, the worlds are made of blocks, none of which (except sand and gravel) are affected by gravity and at night, evil things come out and try to kill you.
The planet I live on is called CatzCraftia. It's called that because of the amount of ocelots that live here. CatzCraftia is home to many species, humans, creepers, endermen and even part-cats (humans that can transform into cats)!
Now for the story...
It was a normal Friday morning in at the CatzCraftia Academy. I woke up in my dorm and swiftly changed from my leopard-print pajamas into a white t-shirt with a diamond sword, a pair of jeans and my black running shoes. I grabbed my books and a piece of toast for breakfast, checked my class schedule and immediately raced out the door for first period: Blocks class. The night before, I made sure that I had completed all my homework, so none of the teachers had reason to put me in detention. The homework was pretty hard, since I'm halfway through sixth grade (It's Febuary here. Don't get much snow here). I walked into the class and as I approached my seat, I noticed Stevie was already there. "Morning Ali!" he said. I grinned and waved back. I saw a train ticket on his desk. Stevie saw me looking at it and held the ticket up, "I'm going home, to Sulphuria, for the weekend.". I recognized the name, but wasn't sure where I had heard it, "Sulphuria... the creeper city?" I asked. "That's the one!" he confirmed. "What are you doing this weekend, Ali?" he inquired. "I'm... probably staying here. Again." I sighed. When Stevie looked confused, I explained that I didn't have a home in the area. He looked surprised and then made an even more surprising offer, "You could come to my place for the weekend if you wanted.". I was speechless for a moment, but agreed.
Then the rest of the class and Mr. Trumple, our Blocks teacher, came in the room. The other students sat down at their desks and Mr. T went to his desk. He was wearing his usual, a black t-shirt with the Android logo, blue jeans and a ninja mask (I'm not sure about that, to be honest). "Morning class." he muttered. He's always grumpy and really dislikes his job as a teacher. He only stays because he gets paid well for it. "We will be taking up last night's homework, did anyone not comprehend it?" he said. Jenny, who was wearing a purple and pink striped long-sleeved shirt and light blue jogging pants, raised her hand, "I didn't understand the first question, sir." she said. Three of the boys snickered and Mr. Trumple looked at them, "What did you three get for question one?". Question one was "Which block is indestructible?". Alex gave his answer; Obsidian. "Wrong, Alex!" Mr. Trumple cried, launching a snowball of failure at Alex. The snowball hit his face and slid down into his lap. His face turned redder than red rose dye.
The other two boys gave the same answer and both got snowballs to the face. "Does anyone have the real answer to this question?" Mr. T asked. Half the class, including myself, raised their hands. "You." he pointed to me. "The indestructible block is bedrock, which is found very deep underground." I said confidently. "Correct... I guess." he groaned. We went through all the questions in about half an hour and Mr Trumple gave us a sheet of questions that were so simple, I had them finished in about five minutes. I handed in the sheet and was allowed to head to my second class for the day.
The day went by pretty quickly, I had Brewing class, then lunch (fish and milk) and after lunch I had Crafting and Mobs class. When the final bell went at the end of the day, I met Stevie outside the school doors. "Ready?" he asked. "Yup. I'm kinda curious about this 'creeper city', to be honest with you." I responded. We walked up to the train station and took a train to Main Station, which leads to four or five different stations. We got on the train to Sulphuria and it took a while to get there, so I nibbled on a piece of pork on the way.
When we arrived, Stevie told me I couldn't transform at all while we were there (I'm a part cat and can transform into an ocelot), since cats are creeper's worst enemy. I nodded and we left the station. Sulphuria is like a giant cave under a jungle, with vines, stalagmites and stalactites. There were a few floating 'islands' with houses on them. I saw a house made of obsidian, one made with mossy cobblestone and one made with cracked, mossy and regular stone bricks. There was a police station, made of stone bricks. Some of them were covered in moss and others were cracked too.
There was one house that had a wooden balcony, with windows. It was made of stone bricks as well, but none of them were cracked or mossy. Stevie led me over to that house and I saw a sign on it. If I squinted, I could just make out what it said, "Stevie's house". He took me inside to show me around. The living room had lime green carpet, a TV with a news-pig and a couch. The kitchen had wooden counters, two large cupboards and a fridge. There was also a few cakes on the counter, a sink and two stoves. The bathroom had an iron door, a shower and a toilet. There was a ladder up to the bedroom. The floor was made of oak planks with creeper faces imprinted within. It had a double bed and a chest with a few valuables.
Stevie took me to the police station to look around. It had an interrogation room with a villager inside. I looked at him, baffled. Stevie explained that the villager had been really cheap when making deals, so he had been locked up. Without thinking, I hissed at him (I keep a few cat abilities when I'm human). Immediately, I clamped my hands over my hands over my mouth. Stevie took out his diamond sword and murdered the villager. "Won't you get in trouble for that?" I asked when I had recovered enough to speak. He shrugged, "Not really. The officals here think that villagers are less than nothing.".
After that mishap, Stevie decided we better leave. He led me a different way, we had to climb up a few vines and cliffs. A few moments later, I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around and saw a very official-looking creeper. I immediately knew what was coming and groaned. "You are under arressst, ma'am. We do not tolerate catsss in our sssociety." he said, with a slight hiss. "Sssstevie, you ssshould have known betterm you are already in exile. Bringing her", the creeper indicates me, "Doesssn't help your casssse.". Stevie hung his head sadly.
The creeper handcuffed my hands behind my back and took me away. I struggled but he called two zombies to haul me away. We were just outside the jail when I transformed into a cat. I growled and tried to claw at the zombies but they managed to force me into a cell anyways. One of them took the handcuffs off me while the other shoved me inside and locked the door. I transformed back into a human afterwards. Either way, I was trapped.
I kept quiet for the first three days, but soon tried to break out. Just a note, ramming your head into a solid iron door is going to hurt someone and it won't be the door. I cut my forehead, but the gash wasn't too deep and it wasn't bleeding, so I was alright for now. One of the guards came to my cell and gave me a cake, "Someone sent you this." he grunted. I looked at it and pulled a chunk off. I bit into it and then tasted the bitter taste of paper. I spit it out and, luckily, was still able to read it. "Ali, don't try to break out. It will only make things worse. I have some friends coming and I'll be able to break you out soon. -Stevie". I wasn't sure what to do with the note, so I just slipped it in a crack in the floor. Hopefully, no one finds that. I slumped against the wall, whispering to myself. "Must....not....sleep...", my head drooped down onto my chest and I fell asleep for what seemed like a second. Next thing I knew, I had woken up and felt better than I had the day before.
Two days after the cake, I woke up at some point to hear the growls of zombies. I didn't move or anything, just stayed in the same position. Then, I heard clanking sounds and hard steel hitting rotten flesh. "Ali?" I heard a familiar voice whisper in the darkness. I jumped up, surprised and overjoyed at the same time, "Stevie? Is that you?" I said softly. He walked over and opened the door. I cautiously approached the door and smiled. It was Stevie and I was safe now. "Quickly, follow me. Reinforcements will be here soon." he told me. I obediently followed him out of the jail and up the cliffs and vines he directed me to. Suddenly, we heard fast approaching footsteps and Stevie slipped. "Keep climbing!" he called up. I continued, occasionally glancing back to see if Stevie was alright.
We made it out of the cave and into the jungle. It was very dark out, I could barely see. We climbed one of the trees and stopped for a moment. I transformed back into a cat, since I'd be able to climb faster. "We need to keep moving or they'll get us." he said. I agreed and we continued on. Climbing trees, leaping from tree to tree and stumbling through undergrowth. At one point, I tripped and hit my head where the gash was and felt something trickling down my face. I ignored it for a while. We made it to the edge, where an ocean connected to the jungle and there was a small island out a short distance from the tree we were in. The island had the most immense tree I have ever seen. "We need to leap, straight into the water and swim over there." he explained. I shuddered at the thought and Stevie said "I know, I don't like water either. But if we can get over there, we'll be safer.". I shut my eyes tight and hopped off the edge. There was the sensation of falling then a loud SPLASH! I went under and was immediately soaked. I swam up to the surface and paddled to the island as fast as I could.
When we reached the island, I thought we were safe and looked to Stevie. He shook his head and took me into the tree. "I designed the entrance a little tricky, so follow my lead." he told me. He climbed up a vine, leapt onto a fence and then climbed a ladder. I followed his example and got up to the top in no time at all. There were two beds and some glowstone (stone that produces light). "Ali, your head's bleeding." Stevie said quietly. I lifted a paw to my head and brought it down with red liquid on it. Stevie handed me a piece of wool to put on it for now. I changed back into a human, took the wool and put it over the gash. "Thanks." I muttered weakly. "No offence, but you look terrible. You should get some sleep." Stevie murmured. I opened my mouth to protest, then realized he was right. I laid down in the soft, comfortable bed and fell asleep instantly.
The next morning, I woke up and was confused for a few moments before realizing I was in a huge tree with Stevie. I looked to the left, where the other bed was, and saw that it was empty. He must have gone to get some food or something. I heard Stevie come in and sat up. "How're you doing?" he asked, looking concerned. "I'm fine." I immediately answered. He relaxed a bit and handed me a piece of pork. "Thanks." I said gratefully munching the pork.
All of a sudden, there was a knock on the door. I leapt up and Stevie put a finger to his lips. Leading me out onto the balcony, he showed me a place I could climb onto the top of the tree. "I'll meet you there in a few minutes, just stay up here and keep quiet if you can!" Stevie whispered nervously. "Got it." I whispered back. I clambered up onto the thick leaves and waited. I could hear the conversation between Stevie and someone or something else. "Hello good sssir, there is rumored to be a cat in this housssehold. Isss that true?" the mysterious thing inquired, I'm pretty sure it was another creeper. "No sir, but I did see a cat flee to the south, into the Tundra." Stevie lied. "Thank you sssir, I will be on my way now." the creeper hissed. Little did we know, but the creeper had a surprise planned.
Stevie climbed up onto the leaves with me. "Stevie, there are mobs surronding us. Skeletons, zombies and even endermen. What should we do?" I asked desperately. "I'm not sure. C'mon, let's go down into the trunk, there's a secret area we can go into." he responded. I followed him down into the base of the tree and into a hatch in the floor. Underneath it was a small room with a crafting table, a furnace and a chest. There was also a lever in the corner. "What does that do?" I asked curiouly. "I'm not sure..." he said, pulling the lever.
We grabbed the food out of the chest and went back to the top of the tree. "Our best bet is jumping into the water and swimming to the swamp over there." Stevie said, pointing to the left. Glancing down into the water, I see a light. "There's a light underwater!" I exclaim, pointing to the bright spot underwater. He looked into the water, where I was pointing and saw it. "That wasn't there before..." he said, confused. "Maybe that's what the lever does. It opens a passage or something underwater." I suggested. "Let's go check it out, maybe we can stay there for a while." he said. I went down first, sliding on a vine then bounding off into the water. Stevie dived off the top and landed in the water, splashing me. We swam under to the passage which was made of sandstone.
The passage wasn't very long and there was a lever at the back. Stevie and I walked down to it and Stevie pulled it. As soon as he hit the lever, we were falling. We weren't high up, so we weren't hurt. But we were trapped. The area we had fallen into had walls that were too steep to climb. I started to worry, "What if the mobs up there find this place and fall in here? We're trapped!". "Chill, Ali. We're safe for the moment and if they do fall in, we're both good fighters." he said, trying to calm me down. It worked, because I remembered that I had my bow and arrows on me. Nothing can get past me... Most of the time. I scouted out the cave area and it was pretty tiny. Stevie studied the walls. "The walls have hieroglyphics!" he cried excitedly. I walked over and took a look. "They all have one that looks like a creeper." I pointed out. "I think this translates to 'Temple of Creepers'." he said quietly.
"You know, I'm pretty sure we could dig out. I have a bit of wood on me." I suggested hopefully. Stevie looked at me, shocked. "We can't break any of this! This... is sacred." he exclaimed. "Alright, we could build our way out? That wouldn't break anything." I said. He thought about it for a moment. "Pass half the wood to me please." he asked. I had thirty-two pieces and tossed sixteen to him. In no time, we had each built a tower underneath ourselves and were in the passage again.
"Ok, here's the plan. You'll go out alone and if anything comes near, you shoot it with your bow. I'll come out right after you get to the surface. Then we'll figure out the rest from there." Stevie said. "A-alright." I replied, trying to sound confident. I pulled out my bow and started swimming upwards. A creeper noticed me and started paddling towards me. I loaded an arrow, took aim and fired at the creeper. I didn't wait for the arrow to hit it's mark and continued swimming as fast as I could. I reached the surface and took a deep breath of the cool air. Stevie was close behind, paddling hard. I continued to swim towards the swamp. We made it to the shore and sat there for a minute, in silence, trying to figure out our next move.
"I think we should start heading back to town." I said. "Do you know which way it is?" he asked. "I don't, but when I transform into a cat, I'll probably be able to get it's scent and find the way home." I replied. "Good idea!" he exclaimed. I transformed and sniffed the ground. With a flick of my tail, I indicated that Stevie should follow me. He understood immediately, and I took off. I bounded over bushes and ducked under low trees with Stevie following close behind. We entered a jungle, I wasn't sure if it was the same one or the one near the town. We continued on, crashing through undergrowth and occasionally tripping. I saw a light and ran towards it. By the time we emerged from the jungle it was sunset and we were exhausted and hungry. I saw the theatre and changed back into a human.
We went to Main Station and took a train back to the academy. We managed to get in and I went to my dorm and fell asleep peacefully. The next morning when I woke up, no one was at the academy. I assumed it was Saturday or Sunday. Being on the run for a while makes it hard to remember what day it is. There was a knock on the door and I opened it. There was Stevie, holding a newspaper. "Looks like we spent the week out there." he said. "Seriously?!" I almost started laughing. "Yeah, unbelievable, isn't it?" he responded. "Well, you can't say we didn't have an intresting week." I said, chuckling. Stevie started laughing too, and soon the two of us were joking about our journey. I went back in my room, still chortling, and found a stack of papers on my table with a note. "To be completed by Monday.". Of course. Homework. I wondered if Stevie had gotten the same thing. I picked up the stack of papers and went outside his room. Balancing the papers on one arm, I knocked on his door, "Wanna go through this homework together?" I asked. "Sure." he replied. I came in and sat on the floor next to him. We finished it all on Saturday. I went back to my room and got out one of my notebooks and wrote all this down so I could tell someone else my story. THEEND

We grabbed the food out of the chest and went back to the top of the tree. "Our best bet is jumping into the water and swimming to the swamp over there." Stevie said, pointing to the left.
