Life of a Creeper This story was originally started by jediknightkrazy, and has been passed on to me. All credits for original idea and all writing inside the quotes is due to him.
Apparently, Ive shaded all exploding moments in Turquoise text to help you find them, and noted out other creeper-deaths in red text.
I may put up my battle between Steve and me for download once we get far.
So I head out of my dirt-covered den, expecting to see some other creepers in our local forest. I quietly walk on over - being the creeper I am. I find my friend, Creepie. I ask him how his day is so far, and go on. I hear chopping in the woods. It sounds like a Steve is nearby. I'm puzzled, they're not that common. I sneak up over to him, and see him cutting down our forest! I'm outraged. I go over to him and hiss. He shouts and mumbles out some weird words. Something along the lines of "...Crazy..Face, TNT..". I continue on him, and get ready to explode. He beats me on the head with his puny wooden axe, and I'm distracted. I slowly walk away, hissing loudly. "I'll get him next time.." I mutter. I head back to my den, re-equip and head back out. I see the Steve has made progress - He has leather armour, and some stone tools.
I'm outraged on his clearing of our forest. I gather some friend creepers, including Creepie, and tell them to seek out this Steve. "He has a cow skin clothes, and stone tools" I announce. They agree, and we head out to find this Steve. He spots us from his watchtower - he has a watchtower? I think to myself. I warn the others he has made great progress - a house, watchtower and a mine. We continue on, and an arrow hits one of my creepers. "Yeah!" I hear a loud voice scream. It's Steve.
I walk over to the tower, telling the Creepers to stay on the edge of the woods. I run over to the tower, and look up. A critical-hit arrow near misses me. I climb up this staircase, and get ready to explode. Steve hits me with an arrow, and knocks me back almost a death-fall. I limp back bruised and unable to explode strong. I tell the Creepers to retreat, and I go rest in my den. I rest up, and re-stock my heart of TNT. I head back out. I hear much more fierce, faster chopping. "Oh no, it's Steve!" I say loudly. Of course, Steve hears me, but it only comes out as a hiss to him. Steve must have been practising chopping. He's using his new, stone axe. He heard my hiss earlier and set out to kill me. I spot him with his stone sword, and quite normally - I RUN! But wait. I could end all of this now. I could be a great friend the to Creeper Community. I could stop him from almost wiping us out in the near future. I could only respawn once - and help all creepers out.
I could explode. I decide to, after almost sweating from all that running with a flash-forward. I stop, and Steve gets a slice on me with his sword. I expand... And all too soon, I explode. Somehow, Steve survives. I don't, but I respawn in my den. Steve is right outside. I can help it all end now - If I hadn't been so weak. Steve runs away, collecting debris - probably to build bigger and better. If building with dirt is better. Probably, you'd be saying right now, for me to get him while he's weak from the last BOOM. In my opinion, no. I need bigger booms, stronger booms, BETTER.
So, I gather some of my Creeper friends. We head out to find and kill Steve once and for all. We walk through the forest. No creepers out, they're all hiding in dens it seems. Not even a single chicken clucks or a pig snorts. I'm worried I'll lose my life today. Suddenly I hear banging on loads of stone all around us. A big indent in a cliff face just outside the forest. It's Steve! He has found Iron, and made Iron Tools. We creepers, though, like to team up. I send Cweepie to find a daylight spider to help us. He comes back on one, and brings back some more for me and my friends to get on. We all hiss. And charge. One creeper gets killed by Steve, and our spiders are scared. That leaves me and 4 others. One creeper explodes, and kills two others. That leaves me and Creepie. We retreat in fear. I thought we could do it.
We head back towards the den to find three of the creepers from our attack there. But... weren't there four?
"What happened to the other creeper?" I ask.
Creepy slowly walks up beside me. "He... he won't be coming back. When one of us is killed by unnatural causes, like a Steve..."
I feel a look of ashen horror cross my face. "You mean... I led him to his death?"
"No." Creepie says firmly. "We all decided to attack Steve. He is just too strong."
I block out Creepie's words. I know it's my fault. If I had just been able to kill Steve...
I need to train. Blow up stronger, better. Maybe even get... a transplant.
"Creepie!" I call. "Find Doctor Crumpy."
Now it's Creepie's turn to have a look of horror. "Creepy...! You're not thinking of..."
"Yes." I say firmly "I'm getting a transplant."
"We don't have the supplies!" Creepie says fervently. "We can't have a transplant."
"Maybe we don't. But we will soon."
"The only person who will have something advanced like that would be..."
"Steve." I finish Creepie's sentence for him. "That's why we're going to train. We're going to beat him... for the creeper we've lost."
Cweepie comes up behind me. "Crenpy. His name was Crenpy."
"For Crenpy, then." I gaze out into the sunset. "One day, one night. That's how long we have to train. We have to beat Steve. We will beat Steve!"
I don't notice the other creepers coming up behind me until there was a loud cheer. I realize that something has changed in me. I've become a leader. "Let's do it!"
I feel my skin tense as Creepie brings me the Steve dummy.
"Are you sure about this?" He asks me. "We don't know how many times we can respawn."
"I'll be fine," I assure him. "I've only ever blown up once. I need experience. Look out!"
Creepie dashes away as my skin swells and prepares to burst. I feel myself starting to glow white with explosive power, and then I stop expanding in shock.
A steady tapping catches all of our attention, and we all stand in dead silence as the tapping continues.
All of a sudden, one of the blocks of stone on the walls starts to crack. The cracks spiral outward until, with a thump, the stone shatters into cobble. I stare in shock as I realize who the shadowy figure is before everyone else, and I struggle to regain movement of my numb feet. Steve is in our den!
I dash forward and let my heart rage against Steve's evils. He must be stopped. I have to stop him! I reach him and swell up, my skin tearing and releasing micro pockets of highly concentrated light. As quickly as I charge, I explode in a large blast. I respawn instantly, barely a few feet from where I detonated, and I see creepers that had been all around me hurtle into the walls and lay there. Steve flies bakwards into his own tunnel, and I see him laying against the start of his tunnel, dazed. If there is a dead end there, then how did he get in?
There's no time for questions like that. I quickly gather enough energy to hiss loudly at the other creepers. "Now's our chance! Attack!"
Creepie stumbles away. "He... he's coming back!"
As the dust clears, I see that Steve has already gotten back to his feet. His skin seems to glow, until I realize that he is wearing a full suit of gleaming iron armor.
"Already?!" I hiss in shock. I realize that Creepie is pushing at me.
"Come on! We can't win this fight."
"But... our den!"
"Hurry!" I hear desperation enter Creepie's hiss. "He'll kill us all if we don't hurry. We'll just have to be cautious not to blow up, that's all."
I stumble out of our den an into what's left of the forest. As I move through the trees, a feel a deep hollowness take over something inside of me. Our den is gone. Steve has control of it now. He's won yet another battle in our seemingly hopeless war.
I come to a sudden, dead stop. “No,” I hiss. “I will not give up our den!”
Creepie manages to hold me back from dashing off. “If you go there now and end up blowing up, you will respawn right there! Steve will kill you!”
“I won’t be going alone...” I say grimly. “I am going to find some allies, even if you won’t be one of them.”
Creepie nearly stumbles back in shock, and I realize that I’ve changed even more. My hatred for Steve has become something dark, and I know it will not go away until he does. I have to kill Steve. He must die for what he has done.
I pace back towards the den. “Steve...” I hiss. “You will die.”
As I walk into the den, I see Steve whirl around from the workbench he is crouched over. He pulls out a brand new, shining iron sword and charges at me. I completely disregard the mortal danger I am putting myself in and swell up as I begin to glow with a harsh white light.
I release all of my pent-up hate and anger in one massive blast. With my last vestiges of sight, I see Steve flying backwards. I respawn instantly barely a foot from where I exploded. I’m not even shocked that the explosion devastated the walls and floor. My first thought is to see if Steve is dead. As I move towards his limp figure at the wall of the den, I see his armour shatter into pieces as he stirs. I feel my hate begin to well up again as he gets shakily to his feet. He glances up and his eyes unconsciously widen as I swell up without even bother to hiss. My explosion is slightly smaller than usual, but as I explode at point-blank range, I respawn in time to see Steve get blasted into ashes. As the smoke of the explosion fades away, I watch his ashes float away. I feel all of the darkness inside of me blow away with it.
I head back to the temporary camp. I need to apologize to Creepie.
As I walk back into the camp, I bump into Creepie.
“So,” he says, “you decided not to do it alone after all?”
“No...” I say slowly. “I did it alone, and I’ve come back to apologize to you. I honestly don’t know what made me say things like that.”
“Accepted.” Creepie smiles, then looks confused. “But if you went, why are you back here?”
I feel a massive grin well up on my face. “Because I won.”
Creepie looks shocked. “You mean...”
“Yes,” I say, my pride welling up on my face. “I killed Steve! We’ve won, Creepie! We’ve finally won!”
Creepie looks doubtful. “Are you sure!”
“Of course!” I say. “I respawned right there, I saw him fade away with my own eyes!”
Creepie looks like he’s been slapped and then slapped a second time. “He faded away? Oh, no...”
“What?” I say suddenly, worry beginning to show. “What do you mean, ‘oh no’? Is there a problem with Steve fading away?”
Creepie hesitates. “Well, you know how I study a lot... right?”
“Of course!” I respond. “I’ve known you practically since we were born!”
“Well, something I read up...”
“What?” I nudge Creepie. “If it’s something important to do with Steve, it can’t wait!”
Creepie hesitates for almost a minute, and then bursts out, “He’s respawned! Steve respawns just like us!”
I feel my skin tense as Creepie brings me the Steve dummy.

I'm not exactly feeling encouraged by the number of responses. For those people actually checking back every now and then for updates, I will be updating once every few days with 2-5 paragraphs.
So, I've been really busy lately, sorry for not updating.
As consolation, bonus paragraph (or two xD). I should have the proper update up tomorrow.

This is amazing. I would like to add this to the Minefic story list. If you agree, I would like you to pm me or Farteh16 with the proper format which I will show below.
Story Name: Author: Description: Status (Completed or in progress):
This is a very well done, and a very well told story! It just, I don't know, the fact that the creepers almost have a childish sense of thinking, but know what they are, and being able to portray that is amazing, at least, in my opinion. And the fact you are able to mimic the OP so well, it goes without saying that's hard to do.
Sorry everyone for not updating this in almost two weeks, I have been absolutely overloaded with work. I'll try and update in the next day or so, and I'll make sure it's a larger one, too. Thanks everyone for the feedback!
A little holdover update until I get the proper one out!

As consolation, bonus paragraph (or two xD). I should have the proper update up tomorrow.
