Chilly winds in Minecraft.
Day 1:
I spawned in cold snow. Looking around I quickly understood where I was. I cut down three trees with my fists and got 19 wood. I then made a 64 stack and 12 planks. I found a HUGE gaping hole of a cave, went in it, made a workbench, a pickaxe, then a sword. I killed 3 spiders then mined coal in the wall. I made torches to light the cave and provide me warmth in this freezing tundra. I saw more more coal and went to mine it, I broke into an adjoining cave with a magma pool.
"That solves my temperature problem..." I noted.
I quickly mined the rest of the coal and ended up with 27. Then I gazed up at the sky...
Night 1:
I sat carefully in my 'warmth room' as I called it. Making sure I don't fall in the lava. Night fell so quick I was unsure of what to do... I left the lava and stared up at the stars.
" Oink! "
I stared hard at a pig. Poor thing was probably scared of the dark. I walked up to it casually and brought my sword down. It met it's mark. I had killed it. I sliced the meat off of it and threw the body in the magma. I couldn't have the body stinking up the place. I quickly eat the raw meat. I was hungry and didn't have a furnace. Furnace. The thought came to mind.
"Let's make a furnace." I thought out loud.
I already had 13 cobblestone. So moving the workbench into the warmth room I made a furnace and set it on top. I left my cave and standing on the ice I saw a skeleton in the distance. It shot an arrow threw the night sky. I listened to the phhhhhhhhht as I let it stick into my sword. The impact broke my sword in half and I walked back into my cave, tossed the junk into magma and made a stone sword. I sharpened it on some stone and ran out to kill the skeletal archer. When I got outside it wasn't there... I went back inside and waited out the boring night. Instead of just walking back inside I fell inside and hurt myself. But I have a remarkable sense of regeneration and the pain slowly subsided. Getting bored I cleared out the snow out of my cave.
Day 2:
After clearing half of the snow I saw it was day. Getting out of my home -Home?- is this home to me?- whatever the case it was hard. I made some cobble steps, not stairs, to make it easier to come and go. I came across a herd of sheep and killed them all and taking the wool. I gathered ( I swear this is true ) 4 light gray wool, 4 regular wool, and 4 dark gray wool. I also came across a pig and managed two chops from it. Heading home I saw a zombie in my house and I chopped off one arm, it swung, I sidestepped and chopped off it's other arm, it tried to bite and I backed up and it fell. I chopped off it's head and then threw its parts outside and they burnt. It started snowing which made me mad as I was clearing up snow. I went in my warmth room to keep warm when a flame leaped at me catching me on fire. It hurt like the Nether. Witch is to say like fire. I went and dropped and rolled in the snow. My shirt completely gone and my pants getting there. My body was numb from the cold but hurt to badly for me to feel it. I didnt feel safe in that darned room. I made more of the lava gone by placing cobble so I'd be warm but a safe distance from the magma.
Night 2:
I was just about to make a bed when a spider attacked me. Still hurt from the fire I died instantly... I awoke where I started and in the snow I ran to my cave. I gathered my stuff and made a bed. I quickly and eagerly went to sleep.
Day 3:
The feeling was amazing. Not only was I warm, I was comfortable and I woke well rested and energized. I made a chest and sat it next to my bed. And then I started cooking my pork from yesterday's hunt. I threw my 2 cooked pork, 4 light gray wool, 4 dark gray wool, 1 regular white wool, 1 seed, 2 saplings, 25 coal, 49 wooden planks and 1 cobble in the chest. I kept my sword, pickaxe, and 3 torches. I closed the chest and guess what. I caught on freaking fire. I survived it but once again my clothes was destroyed. I went out to hunt again but was greeted by -4 degree weather and the wind made it cooler. I needed warmer clothes though. I saw some cows- about 30 or so- and killed them all taking their meat and leather. I also killed more sheep and went home and created a cloth shirt, pants, and shoes, then identical ones from leather and sewed the leather together with string from the wool and my sword. I then sewed the cloth clothes inside the leather and had some pretty warm clothes. It even acted as a form of weak armor. I looked out of my well lit and really warm cave to see it was night time. I went to sleep in my bed. I would have work to do in the morning.
Night 3:
I awoke in the middle of the night by an unusual sound. I heard a gasp, a stumble, a grunt then it sounded like someone payed on the floor in my warmth room, which I'm starting to call my bedroom. I decided I'll check it out in the morning.
Day 4:
I awoke to see a boy, my age, thirteen laying on the cobble floor. He was not shivering because of the heat of the lava but he was probably still a little cold. His skin
blue from being outside last night. He had black hair that wasn't slick but hung loosely down and was medium length for a guy. He was wearing a red shirt and blue jeans. I noticed something to his right... A girl. A girl, our age, looked like the guy, probably his sibling. I set to work from what I had planned the night before, but first I lay one cooked pork chop next to each of their sleeping forms. The plan I had in mind was to make my cave a perfect square of a room, same with my bedroom, then put up stone walls outside of the cave. I had finished my bedroom and the walls and I was working on the very, very much larger main room when the guy woke up. When he turned to me and I saw his face he looked scared, then really happy.
"Jake!!!" I yelled in recognition.
"Nethaniel? Neth! It's really you?!" Jake exclaimed.
"Yeah it's me! Is that Rachel?" I asked.
"Sure is..."
"Well, want to help me with my plans?"
"Yeah! So is this going to be our house?"
"Sure. I don't see why not. Anyway I just want the curved parts of this cavern squared off." And with that we set to work. We finished the main room and decided to go hunting. We were both hungry and needed to eat after all that working. Wile hunting we killed more sheep and some pigs. When we got home we both realized we'd only been up an hour and decided not to rush as much. I also realized we had a lot of uncooked steak. Oh well, it doesn't hurt to have more food than needed. I'll take our resting time to brief you up. I have a normal life on earth. But once a month when I go to sleep at night I dream... I'm not sure if I'm dreaming... No. I know it's not a dream. Anyway, me Jake and Rachel appear in minecraft for a whole year... Maybe time stops in the real world... What ever the case I live a full year in another universe in one night on earth. This has happened 2 times already and me, Jake, and Rachel are real good friends. Rachel is also Jake's sister.
"So... Uhh... How did you two find me...?" I asked.
"We spawned last night and saw the torch path from spawn to this cave... Tell me how we couldn't have found you!" Then we both burst out laughing.
Hearing the laughter Rachel awoke and stumbled into the warmth room to see Jake and another familiar figure putting meat and wool in a chest.
"Hey Jake and... Oh my Notch! Neth! Is it really, really you!?" Rachel asked excitedly, putting extra emphasis on the second 'really'.
"Neth? Who's Neth...? I'm... Uhhhh....,. I'm-" I said before getting slugged in the arm. "Ow!" Then we all started laughing again.
I decided it would be a good idea to start a mine. So we all three went underground on a spiral staircase I started making and we started a strip mine and, hallowing out a huge room, the went back up and together counted the ores. About 4 stacks of coal, 3 stacks of iron ores, 10 lapis lazuli dye, 2 stacks of red stone dust, but sadly no diamonds. After stuffing the stuff in a newly created double chest and making two more beds it was night and they all went to sleep after the exhausting day, hungry but warm.
Day 5:
So, reader, as you may know I am using this as a journal. I record most of the things that happen each day. But to cut things shorter I am not going to tell you every second of each day. A year in this land is 100 days. So I will not write all 100 days and nights. Anyway, on with this story. Right now, it isn't a story to me. But after this year and we de spawn and I go back to earth I leave this here in the case that you will spawn here and follow the path of torches, open the chest and... Read this. Read this. Read.
Rachel came to me wile I was making her room. We all decided we would take the lava from the warmth room and split it in buckets so we each have our own room with some lava.
Rachel looked pretty good compared to me. She had brown hair and eyes. Her hair came down to her elbows. She wore most of it behind her back but had two strands at the shoulders that came at the front. She wore a white hoodie with a creeper face on the back. She also wore black shorts. Under her hoodie was a black short sleeved tee shirt. She looked pretty good-even stylish. I just wore my leather cloth armor and burnt khakis and a burnt red shirt underneath. My eyes turned blue. That's something that happens to me. My irises are green normally. When I'm calm. But when I'm angered they turn red, black when sad, blue when exited, purple when confused, yellow when shocked or scared...
"Your exited about making my room? You're just weird!" she giggled.
"Yeah. That's it." I managed.
"So guess what I tried..."
"What?"
"I tried making a chest... But then I covered it with cloth... And used a bunch of string to make rope and..."
"What? Rope? That's something that can come in handy."
"Then I dyed the cloth covered chest and the rope blue... And made a backpack. It's really cool! It allows us to carry more things!"
"You..." I mumbled, still thinking. "Are a freaking GENIUS!!!" I exclaimed while she had a grin that looked as if someone tried to cut her face in half.
"Thanks!"
"That could help us! Like a lot!"
"Yeah."
"Well, what's Jake up to?" I asked her.
"Mining. The reason I haven't showed you the backpack is he's using it down there."
"Oh. Ok" I said, trying not to sound disappointed that I was the last to hear about it. But as I went to pick up my iron pickaxe we both heard a scream. Yeah I'm sure I know what your thinking-'Yay! Another person!'- well let me finish. The scream was the sound of pain, but it was animal like. We both went outside to find a wolf laying on the ground. Obviously all broken legs, and maybe some broken ribs. But it's neck wasn't NEAR anything pretty. It was disfigured and it was a wonder the thing was alive. Much less that it could make any sound. So yeah. Sorry to disappoint you. But when Rachel saw it she stifled a scream. She turned around and, sobbing through gritted teeth, walked back in. I knew the sad truth. It had walked off the top of our cave, probably noticing the warmth inside, to get inside. I was going to have to... No. I hate thinking about it. I won't, WILL NOT, describe it. The only thing I will say is I put it down...
Day 6:
When I walked out of my room Jake looked at me and, apon seeing my black irises, turned away without word. I was still grieving over the wolf. It was still a
Puppy. Not very durable. Young.
No.
Don't think about it. But in truth, I couldn't stop. But my grief had to end. I willed myself to forget and I felt my irises turn green. I let my mind wonder, to keep the thought away. My life on earth was... Different. I was in junior high. As you may have guessed. Because I told you already, I'm 13. In high school I was feared. I don't understand it... Partially because of my eyes and... Well when I got mad people around me would get wide-eyed and stare in shock. Like... Well I don't know... Like they saw something I didn't. Its weird. Anyway, I was snapped back into reality when I noticed Jake staring me in the eyes.
"What?" I asked rhetorically.
"Your eyes... Are red, black, and... Definitely hot pink."
"Hot pink?" I asked.
"Yeah, your losing the red. They are getting pinker, but the black isn't retreating."
I thought hard. I was angry. I'm still sad and... Something I've never felt before... Embarrassment. That's it. Wow new color. My eyes can now match my cheeks if I blush. "I don't know... New color I guess..," but I did know. I... Need time alone, I realized. So I gave an excuse that would change my life. "Jake I'm going to my room..." that wasn't it. But it leads to it.
Night 6:
As I was in my room I took wooden planks and made a sign. At night I would write...
'Rachel. Jake. I'm going to go explore. I will travel many biomes and see if anyone els lives in this world.' then on the back I wrote 'Rachel just remember. Each and every day will lead into tomorrow. But tomorrow is just one less day without you. But don't try to catch up. Because all the roads I might take will all one day lead back to you.'
I sighed. It was depressing. The sadness was... Overwhelming. I bet my eyes were darker than the void. I dyed my clothes black with ink. Then I made a backpack, judging by how Rachel told me. It was black. I put three stacks of sticks, same amount of coal, five flint and steels, three iron swords and picks, a stack of steak, then I made a diamond sword and pick out of my secret stash of diamonds. I took the rest of the diamonds, 12 in all, and made an enchantment table, took it with me, made another bed; it was more like a sleeping bag because I didn't use wood, and made a crafting table. I put on my super warm leather armor, set the sign on our breakfast table and silently walked out.
About three hours later I knew I had done the right thing. I might have ended up killing Jake and Rachel. I knew because when I was walking through the pine forest in the dark, holding my diamond sword; Fire Aspect, and my torch in the other hand, a skeleton walked from behind a tree. When it saw me it's jaw dropped and it rasped as if it tried to scream, then... Shot itself. Strait through the skull.
After hours of monotonous walking I was in a huge field. Plains presumably. And it became dawn.
Day 8:
Sorry I didn't write anything for day 7. Nothing happen though. Anyway this will be a brief entry. I just left the grassy plains to a desert. It was hilly... Well duney I suppose. Either way I had to take off my armor and realize I didn't bring a bucket. Wow... Just hope the desert isn't too long.
Day 10:
Yes. I survived the desert to find mountains. Atop one was a spring. I will not put my armor on unless it's cold or in a case of very long combat.
Day 45:
I forgot about the journal. I am spending the night in a village. We aren't alone in this accused world...
Day 46:
I awoke in a crater. I was taken to town hall by some very, very scared guards. Apparently while I was greiving over leaving Rachel I had caused the destruction of the poor half of the village... We'll the poorer half...
Heh. Thanks I appreciate it very much. You should stick around because- unlike other authors I'm not lazy and in fact I've finished a coulple more days on the story already. I'd also like for people to know that I'm typing this on my iPhone and this story Wasserstein actually written on the notes... App... Is that what it is? Anyway the notes app that the iPhone comes with, that you use for groceries lists and stuff... Yeah. Anyway just letting you know what I wrote this on.
Day 4 finished and part of day 5 is out... Sorry for the slow progress but I'd really, really (putting extra enphasis on the second 'really') would like suggestions. It'd help and I'll give credit.
