As you may know, my name is dragontyron. You may or may not have seen my other two fanfictions, but knowing how little people visit, you probably haven't. Anyways, many of you have probably heard of the music video "Fallen Kingdom", by Captainsparklez. I was listening to it on the bus home from school one day, and an alternate story began to form in my head.
(If you haven't seen it, you're missing out severely. The music video is included within the below spoiler tab. I take no credit.)
This takes place a while after (perhaps even in a different world than) Cubic Fire, but still has Tyron as the main character, even though he's changed a lot since then. (I have decided, after much pondering, that Fallen Kingdom will be completely independent of Cubic Fire, to avoid me having to keep storyline similarities that I no longer think are very great or easy to manage.) Hope you enjoy!
Also, disclaimer because necessary: Herobrine is not and never will be in the actual game.
Act I
I used to rule the world... chunks would load when I gave the word.
Now every night I go stow away.
From the mobs I used to slay...
King Barian:
What a wonderful morning! I thought, stepping into the fresh air outside the castle. It was bright and sunny, a good day for the Dragon Celebration. I told the guards I was going out for a walk around town, to see what was going around, have a friendly conversation with a friend here and there.
Maybe also to try and catch Tyron.
Tyron... the boy never ceased to amaze me and the kingdom. He had turned up here a long time ago, in the midst of some darker years. He had been the one to travel through the godly portals and put an end to Herobrine's scheme to rule the Overworld under his fist, creating as much chaos as he pleased. On the way, Tyron had also gone into the End, meeting the dragons and reintroducing them to the Overworld, though none of us have seen any. I walked from the castle doors, enjoying the wildlife and warm sunny weather, and a squirrel ran across my path, darting up a tree. I chuckled a little and headed down the path into town.
I went onto the main road, and a man and his wife talking there looked up at me. "Hail, King Barian!"
I smiled to him and replied, "there's no need for so much formality, sir. You may call me Barian. How go things today?"
"Very good! We're baking the most delicious things for the Dragon Celebration feast! Will you be there to enjoy it with your town, Barian?"
"Oh, I most certainly will. Are you willing to spoil the surprise?"
I could tell his wife was about to speak up, before the man rested a hand on her shoulder to interrupt. "Nah, we'll leave it to the king to figure that out, unless he really wants to know."
"Alright, a surprise it shall be! Have a nice rest of your day, sir and ma'am."
"We will, Barian! Thank you!"
Being king has so many aspects to enjoy, especially when your kingdom enjoys having you around.
Tyron:
I took a deep breath and looked into the mirror, a fancy thing I had formed of two polished iron blocks. Composure, check. I looked over my body, scanning for any loose fringes of silver and gold mesh on my clothes. Nope. My eyes still had their deep blue color, as did the void-gem set into my back.
I wondered if Rathina was this self-conscious getting ready for today.
We had planned a date tonight, after the Dragon Celebration. I half-hoped she wouldn't get too drunk. She should be fine, though. She was responsible enough. Myself, on the other hand... I grinned at my reflection. Maybe the foolishness people now seem to look past is why she fell for me. I can't say it was any sort of charm, considering every one of my attempts to show off to her had ended in a wide variety of embarrassments.
A very wide variety.
I made sure I still had my sword, though unpacking the rest of my gear into a storage chest. I wouldn't need to be ready for a war, after all. I looked at the sword, marveling once again at the diamond blade, interlaced with obsidian and redstone, and the lapis gem set into the pommel...
I put that back into the void-gem's inventory. I would never part with it for my life.
I spent a little time wandering about the town, waiting for the festival to start. My stomach started to growl at me as soon as I smelled the food coming from the windows of the many houses baking things to eat. Cookies included. My mouth started to water. Warm, chewy, delicious chocolate chip cookies...
I shook my head, clearing the thought. Later. I told my growling appetite. Later.
There had to be only a few hundred ticks left before the festival started when I saw her. Rathina was looking amazing. Possibly a little too tomboyish for most, but to me she looked absolutely beautiful. Though I didn't have time to consider telling her that before she spotted me and waved me over.
"Isn't this amazing? The first annual Dragon Celebration!" She smiled at me, nearly toppling me with that bright smile of hers. Again. "Funny to think we owe it all to you, Tyron."
This I could finally answer. "I know. I mean, all this, just because I brought a new creature into the world? Not like I'm calling off the celebration, but it almost seems overkill."
Rathina giggled a little and nodded. "I can see how you think that. But really, it was DRAGONS that you brought to the Overworld. Creatures only told of in mythology. Creatures described in legend as the only thing capable of rivaling the power of Notch or Herobrine!"
"Hey, what about me? I killed Herobrine, didn't I?"
"Hehe, I guess you did, dragon-boy."
She had taken to calling me that ever since I arrived with the dragons. She was the only one to have seen how much I enjoyed riding on the back of the dragon, Glowstar. I wonder what my old friend is up to now... I thought. Rathina tugged on my arm and pointed to the town center, where King Barian had just walked up and lit the celebration fire.
For once, dragons could come later.
King Barian:
The hours had flown by rather quickly. Too bad Tyron wasn't there for me to invite to the fire lighting. I thought. He's probably off with Rathina again... How in the world DID those two meet? It was a curious question, and I noticed I was right as to the boy's whereabouts as I lit the fire. Standing as the back of the crowd were he and Rathina, who slipped her hand into his as the fire spread over the odd green netherrack and the fire bursted to life in a shower of green sparks as it imitated the color of the material.
The crowd began to cheer and the celebration began, and I watched with amusement as Tyron looked around, spotted the nearest batch of fresh cookies, and pounced like a cat.
He was almost literally omnom'ing as the entire tray of cookies disappeared down his throat.
I left him to himself after noticing Rathina moving over to him and tapping his shoulder, trying not to laugh.
I wandered around the town, saying hello to one of the nose-people that was currently visiting. Strange people, those ones. Not that they did any harm. No, they were actually proving to be quite useful of themselves. I passed by an old friend's house, not too far from the castle, coincidentally, and the man's son Timmy leaned out of the window and called out to me. "King Barian! Hi there!"
I waved to him and went over to his window. "Hi, little Timmy. How are you doing this evening?"
"Oh, really well! Hey, I found this flower for you, would you want it?"
He held up a large yellow tulip, oddly uncommon for this area. I took it and nodded thanks to him. "Thank you, Timmy."
"You're welcome, Barian!"
I waved as I continued along the streets, enjoying the festivity of the day as the sky began to turn first a slightly darker blue, then yellow, then orange. I saw a small puppet theater going on, and the person behind the curtains saw me and motioned me over.
"Hey, do you think you could poke your head up and say a few words? I'm getting to a really good spot, and my puppet of you could never replace the real thing."
I nodded. "Sure. What do I do?"
"Improvise. You'll know what to do."
Truthfully, I didn't really know what to do. But he signaled me to join his play and I poked my head out into the puppet show, causing the children watching to gasp and laugh in delight. A zombie came up to me.
"Hey, I'm a zombie, I'm going to eat you!"
Now I saw what he meant by improvise. "No, you won't! For I am the great King Barian!"
The "zombie" recoiled in terror. "K-K-King Barian?"
"Yes, King Barian! And if you don't leave my kingdom alone, I'm going to have to cut you with my sword!"
"Noooooo!"
Behind the stage, the puppetmaster handed me a small replica of my diamond sword, and I raised it toward the zombie.
The little ones cheered as it fled the stage in fear. "Yaay, Barian!" "You're awesome!" "Yeah, the best king EVER!"
I got out of the stage and bowed to them, the puppetmaster bowing from the other side. "Hey, thanks for that."
I smiled and waved to him as I left. "No problem!"
Tyron:
The cookies were DELICIOUS. So was the cake, of which I gave some to Rathina. She enjoyed that. We went and got some steak as well, magically cooked to perfection by simply sticking it in a furnace and adding coal. We also got some drinks to go with it, odd enough that gunpowder mixed with water made a very good (and fizzy) soda. Apparently it was completely harmless. Well, the guy selling them had been here long enough. We all trusted him. It was fine.
The day started to give way to night, and the sun began to go down when Rathina said something that made my heart nearly skip a beat.
"You know, I bet you can see the sunset a lot better from the castle walls..."
I looked at her and saw her smiling at me, and I couldn't help but smile back.
On our way up to the castle (holding hands, as it were. I would be ready to call it the best day of my life...) we met up with Barian standing near the dungeon entrance with a caged creeper being pulled by two guards.
"Oh, hi Barian!" I called. He waved for the terrified creeper to be sent in, and turned to me and Rathina.
"Well, if it isn't the couple of the day...?" I blushed a little at that.
"That's one way to put it, I guess," she said. "What are you doing this evening, Barian?"
He shrugged and made a vague gesture to the prison, where a guard was being stationed outside of the gate. "Usual business, as you can see. Blasted creepers don't know to stay out, no pun intended."
I chuckled a little and Rathina stifled a giggle. "Hey, know a quick way up one of the towers, Barian?" I asked. He raised an eyebrow at me, and I rolled my eyes, knowing he was thinking something else entirely than what we had planned. "Well, you wouldn't want guards coming past you every five minutes, anyways... there's a hilltop with a good view off the east side of the castle not too far from here."
I nodded. "Great, thanks!"
Rathina almost dragged me off by my arm, and all I could do is grin a bit sheepishly and wave back at a chuckling Barian as we went.
The hilltop WAS pretty close. We got to it before the sun started to touch the horizon. The sun began to set as we sat there side by side, and I wondered for a moment if a dragon would fly across the square shape.
It started to get darker and a little colder, and out of Notch-knows-what instinct, I put an arm around Rathina. She smiled and rested her head on my shoulder.
If I was a dragon, I would have purred.
King Barian:
The sun set and I retired to my castle throne with my wife and child to watch some of the entertainers that were visiting. There were jugglers, dancers, singers... sometimes all at once, too.
There was even one singer that had an extraordinary song that we enjoyed rather much. The chorus line went:
I shoot my arrows in the air sometimes
Sayin' ayyyo, creepers KO'd
Loot his remains and now his sulfur's mine
Sayin' ayyyo, not todaaay, no.
And then I'll go to work
Under the birch tree.
And I'll make myself
Tons of TNT!
And I'll use these blocks to build a big city!
And I'll mine it up,
using TNT!
That particular entertainer got a bit
more gold than the others.
The rest of the night after that went smoothly as well- we had our dinner, more stories told to us of legends of old... some of which Tyron was the star of. I wonder what he would say if he heard them?
Suddenly, there was an explosion that rocked the castle.
Tyron:
We continued to sit like that for a while, and had eventually started chatting about random things. Like how the festival was. Or what it was like adventuring in the Nether. After a while I looked up at the stars, showing her constellations that Glowstar had told me while we flew.
"My favorite one there- draco."
"Geez, you really know your stars, Tyron..."
"It's fun to know them. It passes time, it's fun to teach people, it's fun to imagine..."
"Yeah. I wonder where Glowstar could have gone?"
"I have no idea. He was rather ambitious. Maybe he has a mate now..." For a reason I couldn't quite place, Rathina gave a little giggle and scooted closer to me.
"It's been really fun adventuring with you, you know."
I was genuinely curious about what she had to say about me. "How so?"
"Well, you're clever, strong, funny, kind... you make a great friend to have by your side in a tough time."
"That's very kind of you yourself, Rathina."
"Hehe, I try."
"You try?"
"Hey, we live in a world where anyone can punch down a tree, sure, but none of us are perfect."
I gave her a smile. "No, we're not. That's for certain."
Rathina smiled back and we looked right into each other's eyes. Hers green, mine that deep ocean blue that has become so famous.
We inched a little closer.
Our lips touched for a split second.
There was a loud boom from the direction of the castle, and we both looked in its direction.
"What was that?" I ask to probably nobody who can answer.
"I...I don't know. Come on, let's go see!" Blinking momentarily from what we had almost done, then up on her feet and dragging me up with her, was Rathina.
I took my sword from the void-gem and started running, keeping pace with the lightning-fast Rathina for once.
There was smoke coming from the wall of the prison, and to my horror I realized we were already far too late; the monsters were swarming everywhere. The man guarding the gate lay on his back with his axe nearby. Knowing it was in vain but trying anyways, I shook him by his shoulders. "HEY! Wake up!"
To my surprise and utter shock, he DID wake up. But not like normal. His eyes went completely white and began to glow, and he slowly turned to look me in the eye.
"I have come, Tyron."
I gasped and fell backwards as he dropped lifeless again. Unwillingly, a memory came to the front of my mind.
I roared and drove the sword straight through Him, then cut up and around, easily slicing Herobrine's body in half and his head cleanly separating from it. The head began to speak as it started to smoke. "I will come for you, Tyron."
So Herobrine had decided to show up again. I had killed Him. Yet He lives. Typical, after I thought about it.
I turned to Rathina, who had been watching with wide, scared eyes and her hands over her mouth. "You need to go. Now."
She tried to protest. "But Tyron-"
"No. This is what I need to do again. Listen, if I die here..." I trailed off. I couldn't say it.
Silence. Then, "You don't have to tell me, Dragon. Go. I'll return when I see it's safe, so you better not die!" I could see tears welling up in her eyes as flames started to burn and people began to scream in pain, terror, and death.
Rathina dashed off and away from the burning kingdom.
I watched her go, and turned to the castle, bitter rage lighting a fire behind my eyes.
I hurried up to the main gates, where I knew I could find Barian, and I killed as much monsters as I could.
I now regretted only bringing my sword, and not my armor.
My sword proved to be enough, though, and I cut down mob after mob before I saw another flash of diamond blue, and a zombie dropped in front of me. "Barian! Am I glad to see you! What the Nether is going on here!?"
We stood side by side, battling off hordes of mobs. "Someone blew a hole in the prison wall, and shortly afterwards even more started showing up around the edges of town. We're being crippled, Tyron."
There was a grim determination in his eyes I had never seen before. One that matched even my battle-rage.
Only then did I realize the queen and prince were still inside the castle.
The fire in town blazed, and the wave of mobs subsided, allowing me time to turn to the king. "Your wife and kid need you, Barian. I'll hold them off; I know what caused this and I'm determined to stop it."
Barian's eyes widedened and he backed away towards the castle. "T-Thank you, Tyron. No matter what happens, I won't forget you." And with that, he ran inside the castle as I prepared myself for another onslaught of monsters.
No matter how hard I fought, no matter how much I killed, I began to be forced back by their sheer number. I eventually decided they were at a good range from the blown-down main doors, and I sprinted into the main castle room.
There were few guards left.
"Everyone get some cobblestone and a bow, NOW!" I shouted. They quickly noticed what I had in mind and build a cobblestone barricade along the door, and we began to fire arrows out of it. I picked up a bow that---by some lucky streak---had infinity enchanted to it, and I fired with the other guards.
That's when He appeared. At first I thought He was an enderman, but he was far shorter than one. Wait. That was Herobr- boom!
The barricade was blasted down, and I was the only one with enough sense to duck before getting my head smashed by cobblestone.
So this is how It'll end... I thought grimly. Not before I take that ******* down with me.
I stood up...
And felt a sharp pain in my right shoulder. An arrow had finally struck home.
I growled in pain and rage, putting my left arm over the wound and advancing towards that evil face.
Another arrow hit. My left shoulder became another center of searing pain, and I gasped, dropping my sword in defeat, unable to move forward any longer.
Herobrine's face burned itself into my mind. That smirk He was wearing now.
He raised his arm a third time.
A third arrow flew.
A third arrow hit me square in the chest.
I finally fell down to my back, my vision going black and white.
Then He spoke, with that same voice that had cursed me to this fate what seemed such a short time ago. "I told you, Tyron, did I not? You would fall, just like the others. There is nothing in the universe that can stop me, and you are about to feel the pain of resistance."
I heard a distant explosion.
No...
I heard a second explosion.
No!
I heard the cry of a small child.
NO!!!
I closed my eyes as the tears began to come. I gripped the handle of my sword...
And blacked out.
Within that subconsciousness, it appeared as if I were watching from a short distance. I watched in horror as Barian, all alone, climbs to the edge of a tower, turns, salutes, and jumps.
I could see no more.
Sunlight in my eyes woke me. I groaned and sat up, suddenly realizing that I had not died, and was in the same spot I had been laying. The sun was up. I staggered to the door, trying to ignore the bodies around me, and looked out.
The town was in ruins. There had been nobody left alive. All because of Him.
A shape moved toward me.
Familiar, somehow.
Rathina.
She ran up to me and wrapped her arms around me. "Tyron! I saw the town in ruins, I... I thought you were dead!"
I pulled her off me a little and looked at her, happier than words would allow that she was still alive. "I thought I was, too. Come on, we have to leave here..."
Rathina nodded sadly, and we set off outside of town to start over.
And I would start planning my revenge.
Act II
I gaze off into the boundless skyline,
Noteblock choirs playing in the sunshine...
I turn around, pick up my sword, and wield
The blade that once forced evil mobs to yield.
If this battle should leave me slain...
I know Herobrine would call my name.
Better to take a stand...
That was when I ruled the land...
King Barian:
I opened my eyes. I was alive? I sat up and looked around, recounting what had happened last in my memory.
The kingdom had fallen. My kingdom had fallen.
As a final act of honor, I had jumped from the top of the tower, and by some miracle had landed in the river below, surviving long enough to be washed to shore.
Could I really say it was a miracle?
I could already see the ruins of the castle in the distance.
Fearing what I might find, but curious nevertheless, I set off upriver to where it flowed through the kingdom walls.
What awaited me there was horror redefined.
I climbed through a gaping hole in the wall, and nearly staggered back out when I saw what was left.
Every last one of the buildings was destroyed. Not a single one was left standing. I could already see the bodies strewn about like dolls in a child's messy room. Most were horribly mutilated, and already had flies buzzing around their corpses.
I vomited into a bush.
I began to walk the path I had taken the day of the festival, trying to relive the last fragments of happiness. There was the side of the road where I had met the couple... Pity I never found out what the man's surprise was.
Then little Timmy's house. I remember he had given me the flower, leaning out of the window.
The window only had a surviving bottom half.
I peeked into the house and almost vomited again.
Huddled in the corner was the torn body of Timmy, with an arrow spouting from his forehead.
I looked away, sickened to the core, and continued walking. I wondered vaguely where the nose-person I met here had went. I hoped he wasn't actually that charred blot in the middle of a crater.
I then found the puppet theater. Well, a half of it. Behind it were the same props I had used to defeat the "zombie" in that little play.
How ironic.
For the most part, the props were untouched, save for the replica of my sword, which was split in half. They were no normal monsters, to openly defy me in subtle ways like this, even while they methodically swamp my kingdom. I walked back up to the castle, fearing more what I may find there.
The number of dead citizens decreased, while the number of dead guards and soldiers increased. I even found the body of the jester who had entertained me and my wife and child with that song.
Again, entertainment based on killing monsters, directly before the attack in which they killed us.
How ironic.
I made it to the throne room, where I had seen Tyron making his final stand. There seemed to be a blown-down barricade of cobblestone over where the door was supposed to be, and several dead members of the elite guard. Tyron's body was nowhere to be found. I hoped this meant he survived, but for all I could think I found no way he actually could have. Knowing Herobrine's spite for the boy, his body was probably taken and desecrated somehow.
I stood grimly in front of the tunnel I ran through. I had to see, or my soul would never be at rest. I went down the hall.
There she was.
My wife, the queen. She had large scorches over her front and side, as well as several tears in her flesh where zombies had gotten her. And even like this, I thought she looked beautiful. Our son was nowhere to be found, though i found one small bone near my wife's head. My son was dead, there was a grim sort of mood that I could sense. I would be cursed to wonder how he died and how his body had disappeared. I continued down the tunnel, hopping over the hole the creepers had created, and made it to the stairwell of the tower. This had to be the most spared area of the entire kingdom. I climbed the stairs and looked out. The balcony had been blown away, probably as they tried to catch me with explosives after I jumped. I sighed and sat down there, with my legs dangling off the side of the tower. The battle was lost. My kingdom was lost.
But...
Tyron was still alive. Rathina was still alive. I was still alive. We could take vengeance. A rising hope appeared inside me, as bright and glorious as the morning sun. I had to prepare. I had to get ready. There was smoke on the horizon where Tyron and Rathina must surely have made their temporary home.
And I refuse to stay and sulk around! I will let them know I still fight! I will fight with them against Herobrine! I will stand and either avenge the people I lost, or join them in their graves knowing that I gave the chaos lord the fight of his life!!
Tyron:
In the few weeks since the attack, I was rather surprised at how far we got. We had already built a sizable shelter with easy defense and hard-to-breach walls, and had recently even struck diamonds! Rathina was happiest than I've ever seen her after she found them. I guess it was her first time finding the stuff. We found enough eventually to make our armor, and began constant duels with spare wooden swords, training our fighting skills.
After all, we would need them.
Herobrine was now in possession of the biggest castle possibly in all of Minecraftia, and he had never been an arrogant ruler. He knew what He was doing, and He wouldn't let his new stronghold fall easily. The whole time, I hoped that the dragons would come. I hoped that Glowstar would somehow sense his old friend's distress.
Somehow...
Rathina and I finished yet another duel with our swords snapping against each other, and we each backed away a step.
"This never gets old, does it?" she said, smiling and breathing heavily. She was getting really good at this.
"No, that it does not." I replied. My stomach even said something as well. It could have been "I'm hungry" if I actually spoke in stomach-growl. Rathina laughed and I couldn't suppress a chuckle.
Nevertheless, I still had to ask, "Are there porkchops ready in the furnace, or do we have to go hunting for them again?"
Rathina went into the house, and I followed. "No, but I have baked something extra special in celebration of completing our sets of diamond armor."
I watched curiously as she pressed a button (she was better than me with redstone mechanics) and pistons pulled down a piece of wall, revealing a fresh cake.
SHE MADE US A CAKE!? WEWT!!
Rathina noticed my wide-eyed stare and giggled. "Go ahead, take a piece!"
I gladly obliged, poking the cake and taking off one of the magical perfect slices that formed when I did. It had to be one of the most delicious cakes I ever ate.
"I added extra cocoa beans to this one. Like it?"
I was speechless with my mouth full of cake. So I simply replied with "MHMM!!" and a large nod.
Rathina took a piece for herself and ate as well.
The cake left us both in a good mood. Pity, I thought, that It couldn't last the rest of the day, at least. At around noon we were watching from the roof of the house, and from the ruins of the castle black smoke began to appear.
"Rathina...? What is that...?"
She came over to watch, almost dropping her bow in awe as the smoke covered the entire kingdom. When it cleared, the town was left untouched, but standing in place of the castle was the most demonic fortress I had ever seen. Herobrine seemed to have stepped it up slightly from the nether brick and glowwood and bloodstone that his earlier castle was composed of. This one had more soul sand, obsidian, and other Overworld materials. I even spotted a few clumps of the dark ore Bluestone.
"Great Notch and Jeb almighty..." Rathina breathed softly.
Then the ghasts came.
I heard them long before their floating white masses were visible above the treetops, and I had already drawn my bow to meet them. "Rathina, get ready. There's a lot of them..."
She nodded and drew her bow as well.
About twenty ghasts. Twenty.
Are you freaking serious, Herobrine?
They came within bowshot and we began to fire away, but as soon as either me or Rathina would shoot, a ghast would place a fireball in its path and move out of the way, effectively dodging the arrows.
And because we were outnumbered, they only needed two ghasts at a time to do this job.
"Tyron, this isn't working!" Rathina shouted.
"I know this. Time for my favorite sport..." I put away my bow and drew my sword, even though I knew I could do this with my bare hands if I wanted. Rathina did the same and the ghasts looked momentarily confused before one of them decided to be brave and fire at us.
I leaped into the air and hit the projectile with my sword, and it went flying back, straight into the ghast that had fired it. There was an explosion and the ghast let out a piercing death-screech as I landed back on the roof of the house.
One down, nineteen more to go... I thought grimly. This may not end well. "Rathina," I said quietly, glancing at her, "get our armor and spare food from the house and make sure none of it gets destroyed. I have the feeling we'll have to leave here sooner than we thought."
She nodded and hurried off as the other ghasts began to fire. First one fireball deflected, then another, then another, then... BOOM! I went sliding back as one of the fireballs exploded as I hit it. The thing didn't do much damage, thanks to the armor and some of the enchantments I had taken the time to put into it, but some of the protectiveness of the house had been destroyed and the hit gave the ghasts confidence.
They must be so ticked. Me and Lupi destroyed so many of them when we were in the Nether. The thought of Lupi and his valiant sacrifice hurt, but I wasn't about to show it. I roared and hit back another fireball, demolishing a second ghast.
A few more fireballs deflected and missed. "You guys are slippery little bastards, aren't you?"
Taunting them probably wasn't the best idea, but it had come before I realized what may happen. Fortunately this had made them a little clumsier in their desperation to kill me, and I deflected yet another fireball.
That's when they did something I never realized they could do.
The ghasts began to converge on me, reaching out with their tentacles to try and squeeze me to death, or worse. Now glad it was my special sword I had drawn, I began hacking away at the writhing mess of ghasts, killing them rapidly.
Twelve... Eleven... Ten... Nine... Eight... ACK!! One of them finally grabbed me and held me up to its face. I struggled against it, but I had no chance. The other ghasts backed away and the one holding me let out an earsplitting screech that I swear probably shook the entire house.
Well, shi- I didn't get the time to finish my curse. A bright light appeared around the ghast, and I realized that light was fire. But fire didn't hurt ghasts, did it? It certainly got the thing to drop me and turn around, though. The ghast whipped to its backside, only to be confronted by the slashing claws of a familiar black and green shape.
Glowstar!!
The dragon had come after all! He ripped through the ghast and its body (hardly made of anything, really) puffed into smoke, leaving the other ghasts furious at the newcomer. Glowstar stood over me protectively and roared at the seven remaining monsters, causing them to screech back and hurl their fireballs. Glowstar became a whirling torrent of black and green, throwing the projectiles with deadly accuracy back at the ghasts. One, then two, then three fell at a time, and there were none left at the attack.
The dragon turned to face me. "Looks like I got here just in time, kid! Managing to get yourself in trouble again, eh Tyron?"
I smiled at him. Same old Glowstar I once knew.
Rathina came up from below. "Tyron, did I just hear a... dragon...? Glowstar!" Rathina ran up beside me joyfully.
Glowstar chuckled, still a deep rumble. "Hello again to you as well, Rathina. I'm terribly sorry for being a bit late.
"So you WERE planning on visiting for the Dragon Celebration. Pity you didn't get here on that day, you would have changed a lot."
The dragon nodded. "I saw the castle. Herobrine seems to have risen from his hellish grave, has he?"
I grimaced. "Yeah. He's more bent on it now than ever. He obliterated the kingdom, and nearly killed me in the process. He would have killed me on his second attempt, if you hadn't shown up."
The dragon smiled and raised his head with a little bit of excess pride. "That's me for you! Always here to save the day!"
Rathina rolled her eyes and decided to change the subject slightly. "You said you were late. Is that just you being you as well, or is there something that kept you?"
"Nah, I would have been here if there wasn't something keeping me. It takes a while to find a proper storm of dragons, you know."
"You don't mean-"
"Yes, I mean. Just outside the border mountains of the kingdom is what I would fancy calling an army of dragons! It took me a while to find them all, but it seems as though they'll be well-needed!"
Glowstar. Always managing to do exactly what would save our lives...
Later that day (After a ride on Glowstar, of course. We had things to catch up on, if not all that much.) we all stood in front of a camp of dragons. Most of them were reds, native to Minecraftia, but there were also quite a few of Glowstar's kind that had come from The End as well. Their black, starry patterns were quite easy to pick out.
I gave a low whistle of awe. "This many dragons... We're sure to give Him the surprise of his life tonight."
"Yeah... everyone's ready? The sun is beginning to go down. If we're going to strike, we are going to strike then. He won't expect it. Surprise is going to outbalance the ability to spawn mobs. He would normally expect us to attack at sunrise, so we should attack at sunset."
Glowstar and a few of the other nearby dragons gave a growl of approval. "Sunset it is then. He has survived long enough. He shall end in the fire of the dragons He created, thinking they would be his simple tools, like the other monsters of the night."
I planned a few more things with Glowstar and the elite dragons, and the sun began to set.
Glowstar let out a great roar and took to the sky with me on his back, and Rathina riding another dragon close by.
The end of Herobrine had begun.
King Barian:
I had just finished enchanting my diamond armor when I heard the roar. I had set up my camp a good distance from the kingdom, but I was close enough to cry out in anger when He transformed it. I rushed outside and looked, noticing a gigantic cloud at the horizon.
I crept closer to the walls.
That was no cloud. That was an army. An army of dragons.
Tyron IS still alive! He brought the dragons! He's fighting too!
Hope flared even brighter in me, and I found it oddly easy to compare it to how a dragon's flame flares when it's angry. I started to rush through the kingdom toward the army, only stopping when I heard calls from Herobrine and his monsters. I turned to look.
They were flooding from the castle, all coming at me.
That was fine.
It was the things behind the monsters, lowering themselves from the castle, that froze me.
TNT cannons.
Tyron:
The monsters began to flood, and the dragons kept flying. Suddenly the flood turned back and went into the castle. Odd.
We chased them for a while, until Rathina spotted something and shouted frantically. "Tyron! Glowstar! Those are TNT cannons! He's gonna blast us out of the sky!!"
Glowstar and I looked and, to our horror, found that she was right.
"Oh, Notch. Bring the dragons down to land, NOW!!" I shouted, and Glowstar roared the command back as he dove into the town. We hid behind the ruins, and I peeked out behind one.
The monsters were beginning to flood down again.
"Dammit! He's got us pinned down! If we fly to get away from that swarm, he'll shoot us down with those cannons." I heard Glowstar curse under his breath. "That swarm is too massive for us to fight like this. It'll become a game of hide and seek if we wait too long."
He has us pinned down already... Why did I think I could do this so easily!?
King Barian:
I managed to run off to the side before the waves of monsters got to me, and they seemed to not notice me crouching at the side of the roads. No, their main goal was to hunt down and kill Tyron and his army.
And I was the only one who might be able to save them.
As I looked at the cannons, a grim plan formed in my head, and I knew by my heart that there would be no other way. I swore I would die defending my kingdom, and that was what I must do. I gathered as much dirt as I could, hoping there was one block for each cannon, and set off at a mad sprint toward the side of the fortress. I would only have one shot at this, and I would have to run faster than ever before. I prayed to Notch and Jeb above that I could do this.
My determination sharpened, and I saw with a focused, absolute clarity.
I began to climb and jump my way up the side of the fortress, to where the cannons where projecting from the wall.
Tyron:
I was saying my final prayers when Rathina gasped and called to me from across the street. "Tyron, look! Up on the fortress!"
I followed where she was pointing and gasped as well.
It was Barian. King Barian had survived.
He jumped up the wall of the fortress with amazing speed and grace, his diamond armor flashing in the starlight. He had dirt in his hand.
What is he doing?
I continued watching, and as I began to realize what his plan was, a sinking feeling of dread began to form in my gut. Barian jumped up onto the first TNT cannon.
He plugged the end with dirt, and continued on his way.
I jumped up and shouted, knowing what was going to happen. "NO, BARIAN!"
If he heard me, he showed no sign of it. Like a machine, he dashed from one cannon to another, plugging the barrel of each. I watched as Barian plugged the final cannon and stood on it...
King Barian:
I plugged the last cannon and, upon hearing the cries of dismay from the monsters inside the castle, stood and faced the army of dragons.
I noticed Tyron standing there. I heard him shouting. I raised my arm in simple salute to him as the cannon beneath my feet began to rumble.
Good luck, Tyron. I'm truly sorry I won't get to see what's in store for Herobrine, so kill him for me, will you? I've done all I can in this world, and I'm proud to have helped you in your journey. Be safe, and again, good luck...
I took a deep breath. So much clarity now...
And it'll all be over soon...
I could join my family in heaven.
Tyron:
I cried out again and reached my arm toward him as I saw him salute. As if I could somehow save him.
"NOO!!"
The cannons exploded in unison. The side of Herobrine's fortress was engulfed in a withering blaze of fire from the explosions of the cannons.
I sank to my knees as the world slowed around me. King Barian was most certainly entitled to that name.
He deserved his vengeance to be carried out. I stood up and drew my sword, wiping tears from my eyes as I did so.
The monsters flooded forward again.
I raised my sword in the air and the point gleamed with the combined light of final sunset and the blazing light of the cannon explosions.
"Dragons," I roared, sounding almost dragonlike myself, "Attack!" I lowered my sword, leveling it at the approaching monsters, and the army of dragons roared in unison, almost stopping the wave in its tracks. Dragons began taking off into the air, and I dashed forward with Rathina at my side and Glowstar directly above. After hardly any running, the two forces collided in a monstrous clash of dragonfire, flying arrows, bones, and flesh.
Rathina and I fought side-by-side, tearing a line straight through the masses of monsters. Barian's death had given us even more strength and resolve. Nothing would touch us until we got to Herobrine. Glowstar and the elite dragons followed not far behind us, bringing down monsters left and right. We fought our way through, and eventually came upon the front door of the fortress.
Monsters began to follow us, and Rathina turned her back to the door. "This is the hard part, Tyron. You better survive in there."
I took a deep breath and stepped toward the door. "I will. I'll make sure."
We stepped apart and I opened the door, glaring at the figure I knew would be sitting in his throne right at the end of the room.
Herobrine.
"So, Tyron... we meet again..." He drawled, getting up from his throne and walking slowly down to me.
"This time will be the last, Herobrine!" I countered back.
He laughed. "So you say. Do you not remember I brought you down so easily when I attacked this place?"
"Have YOU forgotten I wasn't wearing armor?"
"Still so sharp-witted, Tyron. Tsk, tsk... Arrogance such as that will get you killed. You of all people should know that."
"I'm not being arrogant."
"Possibly not. But I can guarantee you..." He smiled his ghastly smile and walked up to me. "...you won't survive this time."
I growled to him in defiance. "We'll just see!"
"Hahaha! You don't have it in you! You don't even know how to make me stay dead!!" He shoved me back with a surprising amount of force, and I raised my sword, meeting his challenge.
"I can prove you wrong!" I said to Him.
"Come and try, Tyron." He said back. "Come and try..." He raised his arm and a sword made of shadowy Bluestone materialized in His hand. The thing almost looked like darkness dripped off of it.
He gave a small chuckle, and without warning dashed forwards fast enough so that he became a sort of blur. I only just had time to raise my own sword and deflect his slash, which was aimed directly at my neck. I whirled in a lightning-fast counter, and my sword met his in a shower of sparks. He jumped back and I followed him, jumping over a slash aimed at my feet. I kicked him as he raised his sword over his head, and he stumbled backward with a bluish flash of electricity sparking when I had hit him.
He doesn't LOOK like he's wearing armor, but his powers give him enough strength that he can make his own... hmmph.
He charged at me, feinting to the left and slashing at my right, his sword ripping through the armor in my shoulder and only just scraping the skin beneath.
And because of that sword, MY armor is completely useless!
Realizing my armor was just dead weight now, I ducked under another slash and threw my helmet and chestplate in the air above me. Herobrine fell for the feint and slashed, cutting the newly-made diamond chestplate cleanly in half. I got up and made a brutal slash to his side, much like the one I had "killed" him with last time, and he was sent staggering with blue sparks once again. I pressed my advantage and advanced on him, the weight of my armor gone and my attacks more rapid because of it. Herobrine was forced onto the defensive, and I continued my relentless assault of slashes and stabs at him. He made one slip and my sword hit... and broke through his shield in a burst of blue light. We were both sent flying back, and Herobrine's sword dropped from his hand.
We caught our breath and stared at each other from only a few blocks away. Blood was dripping from Herobrine's forehead. It was the first time I've ever seen him bleed.
"Kill me then, Tyron. I'll be back for more in a year!" He went closer to me and spread his arms from his sides, inviting a simple stab to kill him. I wasn't about to fall for that.
"No," I said, lowering my sword to my side, "I know how to kill you, Herobrine. It has to be something you created to kill you."
His eyes widened. "What? How would you have found that out?"
I decided to not answer him. Let him die wondering.
I raised my sword straight up, the redstone infused in it glowing brightly. There was a mighty crash as the wall behind me collapsed, revealing Rathina standing under Glowstar and the elite dragons.
"Dragons!" I called again, leveling my glowing sword at Herobrine's chest. I could even see him breathing. Interesting for such a being to show fear.
"Loose fire!"
Great rivers of flame spewed from behind me, and engulfed Him.
He screamed as he burned, sounding almost ghast-like. He continued thrashing around in the fire for about a minute, before he finally laid still. The dragons stopped the flow of flames.
Finally.
I stepped up to Herobrine's now-charred body. He was finally dead. I had one more thing to do...
I touched the tip of my glowing sword to the bloody point on his forehead, and his dead body thrashed around as the redstone powered light through the cut into Herobrine's corpse. When it was finished, his eyes had dim pupils. He could now be buried, burned, or whatever else.
He could finally be erased from the world.
And we, the people and inhabitants of Minecraftia, would be at ease for the first time in the history of the universe.
That's it! I hope you enjoyed! Please leave a comment below and visit my other two fanfics if you want!
You know, I really hate it how good writers like us haven't been payed attention to. Right now its all just banners and signatures and stuff. Not meaning to insult, those are Art after all, but shouldn't writing have another Sub-forum. We are kinda getting neglected.
Anyway, I've skimmed through Act I and I can say it's a good read. Keep it up!

Thanks! Yeah, I've noticed that (correct me if I'm wrong) nobody ever goes after a fan fiction unless you have a shiny banner for it and/or you're famous enough that people see it when you post. Another sub-forum specifically for stories would be nice.

You know what, I'll create links to other stories in my thread, so that people can see stories. Us writers are artists too, and they should know. Can I add yours?

Long after Herobrine was supposedly killed, and the adventures of Tyron and his companions ended in a small valley-bound kingdom, the Dragon Celebration is about to begin. A festival based off of when Tyron had brought dragons into the world, and also the anniversary of Herobrine's death. And as the music video published by Captainsparklez says, all does not go well that night...

feel free to make any changes you want to that. im not the greatest ever with advertising my own stuff- im too humble for that

Do you have a story about the battle with Herobrine? (Not this battle with Herobrine, but the one before.) I would really like to read that.
Very interesting story, by the way.

technically, thats Cubic Fire. i have ideas on how that one ends, but currently im stuck at attempting to describe a book within a book, you could say.
I read the first paragraph and thought "This is pretty long" skip a couple of paragraphs and im finished
I suspect its good judging by your enderman fanfiction, i loved that! Keep up this good work!
haha, thanks! the "too long" reaction is something people i show my work to tend to get a lot. they see it and i watch them go so buggy-eyed at the length!
but everyone who's taken the time to read it has enjoyed it so far, and im happy with that for sure!
To my surprise i found this a heck of a good read. I read a lot of books in my spare time and I can assure you, this may be a small part of the story but the writing, tension and build-up are sublime!
+rep, you deserve it! My first time +repping anyone too
awsm........ Can't believe how good fan fic can be! +++++++rep for you

Herro. I have left these magnificent forums, if you as anyone I know have made a roleplaying website or are part of a smallish one please let me know by pm on the website www.roleplayerguild.com/ BYE BYE ROBBHUS AND FUNNIO
This takes place a while after (perhaps even in a different world than) Cubic Fire, but still has Tyron as the main character, even though he's changed a lot since then.(I have decided, after much pondering, that Fallen Kingdom will be completely independent of Cubic Fire, to avoid me having to keep storyline similarities that I no longer think are very great or easy to manage.) Hope you enjoy!Anyway, I've skimmed through Act I and I can say it's a good read. Keep it up!
This is awesome

Irony in the first degree.
