Hey, Farteh, I suppose you wouldn't mind changing the synopsis/description of Cubic Fire? I made a few minor major edits to it last night and think that the new one fits better.
"Minecraftia has been peaceful for thousands of years. Life progressed in its normal, unhindered fashion, and the few adventurous inhabitants were able to be free and happy. Then, after such a long time, the Lord of Chaos returns. Herobrine. He sets his feet into his place as the chaotic tyrant. At the same time, a strange new character washes up on a distant beach. Remembering nothing but his name, he sets off on a quest that leads him through each untold story of Minecraftia, challenging Herobrine himself."
EDIT: ooh, page 21 is now property of myself, dragontyron. Wait, if thread pages were the forum equivalent to years, does that mean that Minefic is now the legal drinking age?

I own the first post (OP) and the thread. I win :P. Anyway, I'm mulling over something right now.
What about the copyrights and intellectual property of our stories? I showed my dad the Chapter Four of 'Age of Anger' and he said not to post my stories here, 'cause they'd be easily copy-pasted, slapped with a copyright from some other guy and sue me money for "stealing" their story.
I kinda need a good solution for this. It'd make it easier to sleep at night knowing I didn't compile Minefic for some bad guy to take to his/her advantage.
And yes, you people will become evil if you take on this idea. I am talking to you, future thieves.
If an admin could tell me this info then I'd be even happier. I almost forgot the admins with their ban-hammers.
You got me worried. That is true. I have the version with me. I'll just have to make my story the (censored) story so no one will bother to copy/paste it! Mwahahahaha! No, no, no. I put effort into this. I'll ask Neil Gaiman. I follow him on Tumblr. Hehehe. Maybe he knows?

Lol.
Speaking of authors, one character coming in book two of NE is going to have the last name of Paolini, the last name of the greatest author of all time. If you don't know who Christopher Paolini is, you clearly hate dragons
LOL. On the very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, off chance that you are being serious, it's called Eragon.
Yes. I have seen many of his books pretty much in every bookstore. I haven't read his work though for some reason. Is it good? I don't even know what it is about. Being at this age, I might consider reading it.

From my limited understanding of copyright, I know that the moment a creative work is made, it has copyright. It is a common misconception that copyright is a license that you must seek out for in order to protect your work. Copyright also applies regardless of whether or not you write "Copyright so-and-so 20XX," although it is likely a useful deterrent from stealing as some people respect copyright but don't understand where it applies.
At least, that is how it works in the U.S. I imagine that copyright protection applies in a similar manner in other countries because it protects people's livelihoods, although the length of copyright and the extent that copyright can protect will probably vary.
The only thing to be worried about intellectual-property-lawsuit-wise would be if Mojang decided to sue for the use of the Minecraft brand, but they are pretty lenient about non-commercial stuff, according to what they say here:
The page doesn't go into much detail about fanfictions, so if you're thinking of selling your fanfiction, it would probably wise to e-mail them about it first.
...As for the issue of copying in and of itself, in an age of internet connections and photocopying machines, it's "easy" to copy something regardless of the medium it's in. Putting your fanfiction in a more accessible location makes it more probable that it will be copied, but it also means more people can see it and give feedback on it. In addition, more people will recognize you as the person who made the work, and therefore more people will recognize the copycats when they see them. Also, forum timestamps will make it pretty obvious you wrote it first.

It's a medieval-set book about dragons with the best plotline ever!
Your story is now added!
Aw, thanks!
P.S. I am a living embodiment of Rift. I even made a sweet new banner for the fanfiction. If you want it yourself, change the following text to black:
P.S.S. I hast made the 400th post on Minefic!

Also, expect chapter 5 of my story sometime today.
TT2000, you are genius.
Done.

...Did someone just try to have people click a Dragon Cave egg? Agh, It's a great site, but I wish people would stop making it look worse...
