I got this idea from a few minecraft stories. Call it my inspiration. I'm new to this, so please tell me what you think of the story.
<Chapter 1>
I wake up, lying down in a grassy area. I start to take in my surroundings, noticing trees, and off to the right, a few sheep. It is early morning. It seems to be a forest. I notice someone is also looking around next to me. We meet each other's eyes. I say,"Hello. Do you have any idea who I am?"
"No idea. Sorry. I'm guessing since you asked that, you don't know who I am either?"
"No. Sorry."
We sit in silence, waiting for one of us to come up with something to say or do.
"Hey." he says
"Ya?"
"You get the feeling we should build a shelter?"
"A little. What could we make it from? I suppose we could get some wood, but it wood be tedious to get enough wood for a house."
We decide to get some anyway. The oddest thing happens. We punch it, and it actually drops wood! We try to experiment with it. Eventually, he makes something. It looks like planks of wood put together.
"I got something."
"I see it. How much did you get?"
"Quite a bit, actually. I think we should also start to find a good place to build. Those mountains off in the distance look good."
"I agree. Let's head over there."
We set off in the direction. After walking quite a bit, we finally reach the destination. We find a good little spot to build, underneath an overhang of the mountain. He starts building the house, and I start experimenting with the remaining planks.
"I got something." I say.
"What is it?"
"It's a workbench. We can build better stuff, I think."
"Sweet! I think we should try to get something better for the house. The wood seems a little... unprotective, if indeed that is a word."
"Oh, good, I made a door. Now we won't have to punch our way out every time we want to leave the shelter."
By now, it is about afternoon, and we are both tired from the long walk to the mountain.
"I saw some stone underneath the mountain. We should get it in the morning."
"Alright. What do we do until then?"
"I'm going to sleep. I advise you to do the same."
Next thing I know is I'm on the floor, it's the middle of the night, and there's a weird groaning noise outside.
"What the heck is that?"
"I don't know. I'm surprised you've slept through it as long as you have. Go ahead and look out. I did. It's not too bad."
I go over to the door, and look outside.
"It's another person! My gosh, is he okay? He's all green and-"
The stench hit me. I could smell it through the walls. Whatever that was, it was NOT human. I reel away from the door, and this is all my ever-so-helpful friend can say:
"I thought it was pretty bad too."
"What is that thing?"
"I don't know. I think it used to be human. Look at his clothes. Same as ours. Looks like there are more of us somewhere. Possibly alive."
Well that gets me thinking and concentrating, I forget the groaning outside. There could be more of us! I don't know how long I'm like this, but I'm woken out of my trance by:
"The sun's rising, and the zombie's gone."
"Zombie?" I ask.
"Word just popped into my head."
I go outside, and sure enough the "zombie" is gone. I go to the mountain to get some stone and punch it. Once.
"Ouch!"
I go back inside and try to figure out how to get some stone. I mess around with some wood planks and I make sticks. I find this not too notable of an achievement, so I keep it to myself. I mess with some planks and make a... pickaxe! That's what it's called.
"I'm going to try something with the stone. I'll be right back."
I go over to the stone and hit it with the pickaxe. It drops once I break it, and I get more and more. Eventually the pickaxe breaks. I go back inside.
My friend says, "What was that weird thing you were carrying earlier? May I see it?"
"It broke, but I got a bunch of stone"
"Mkay. I'm going to build the house with it."
I experiment with some stone, and I decide I may as well make another pickaxe with it, and I succeed. I then think about the zombie last night. What if there are more creatures? I put a stick below some stone, and sharpen the stone into a... sword? That sounds right.
"I got something to defend myself with."
"Make me one."
I make him one, and he finishes the house. It's actually sundown, but I'm not tired.
"I think we should hunt some zombies."
"Why?"
"Well, there can't be an unlimited amount of them. They have to end sometime."
"I suppose."
We head out the door, and see a zombie. I go and stab it feeling very triumphant. It comes back at me, and my friend saves my life.
"You owe me."
I'm too scared to reply.
We keep going, hunting zombies like mad men. They drop these nasty little... fleshy things. I pocket them just in case, but my friend wants nothing to do with them.
I go up to a particularly nasty looking zombie, and starts rushing at me.
"Gah!"
He attacks me and start punching me and kicking me. My friend is to far to help, fighting a nasty looking breed himself. I triumph over the zombie. I stand shaken and hurt over the body. I feel a sharp pain in my back, and everything goes black.
I'm looking down at my body. What's going on? I'm carrying a weird stringed thing and a pack of sharp things on my back. My arms look too white, and as if they have no flesh on them... Bones! I'm only bones. But I'm also looking at my body... What's going on?
I'm only a skeleton. It seems I transform into whatever kills me.
<Chapter 2>
Well, that night, I looked for something to do. I went to my old shelter, and saw my friend sitting there, staring at the ground. He looked at me, and came at me with a sword, so I backed off and didn't go back.
I was wandering around, a group of skeleton's started herding me towards the mountain. I didn't want to go, so I yelled (which sounded just like bones clacking) and fought, but they kept pushing. We went into a large whole in the side of it. A... cavern, I believe. We went further and further down. "If I ever figure out how to turn into a human again, I need to explore in here." I though to myself.
After a while, we got to a weird whole in the wall, surrounded by mossy stone. I was wondering what was in there. One of the skeletons nudged me towards the entrance, so, I went in.
I looked around. I saw a weird little block with a skeleton on fire inside it. He did not seem to be getting hurt. As I was looking at the block, I heard a little movement and looked up. There, on a chair made of red sheep fur (wool?) and a black block I had never seen (it looked extremely tough) was a skeleton with a crown.
"Hello." I heard a snake-like voice say. I looked at the skeleton quizically.
"I learned to speak after many years. I cannot teach you how... but I can teach you to become human.
I looked at him in surprise and relief.
"Yes. You are unique. No one else has the ability you do. I want you to do something, in return for me telling you this information. This is a long story. Are you ready for it?" I looked at him expectantly.
This is the summary of the story, but I will not write it in the skeleton's words, because, frankly, his speech is a little weird.
Once, there was a man. I cannot tell you his name, for the skeleton did not tell me. He had the same ability I did. He went through Minecraftia (which is what the skeleton named the world) and looked for technological advances. He found out how to make fire (a hot substance) and found diamonds (a clear, blur rock.) When he found these, he formed a pickaxe. With this, he got obsidian (The tough-looking black substance the throne was made of.) Now, this man was obsessed with technology and other dimensions. In a dungeon, he found a book with a shape of obsidian into a door frame and a flint and steel (the thing that made fire) sign. It was labeled only "the nether" and said only:
"This information is a highly protected secret of the Empire. If they found out I had it, I would be killed, along with all my family. So I hide it in this chest in hopes that someday, someone will find a way to escape the empire into the Nether." The skeleton told me this was not important. So, this man built a "Nether Portal" and went in. He found that it was inhospitable, and continued his search. He found another book labeled "The Ender," but the only thing distuingishable other than that was "stronghold." This man had no idea what this was, but he knew that "enderman" (a beast from The Ender) was connected to this (These, he told me, wer different from the enderman we have today, tall black entities. He killed these and got "ender pearls" and fused them with the essence of an evil monster from the depths of the Nether a "blaze." He used these items to find a stronghold and go to The End.
This is where the man became evil. Finding The Ender (End for short) was hospitable, he lived there. He brought his village, and became leader. He did not know that The End did not have the same natural laws as Minecraftia, and the village corrupted. The village became the modern enderman, and the man became the Ender Dragon. Now he sends out these enderman to kill any humans, because he hates the reminder of what he used to be. Enderman pick up blocks to try to build, but they have no capability to.
"So," he says, "My task for you is to kill the Ender Dragon. I will teach you how to become human again, how to control when you become something that you have already become, and to control if you become something or not." To become human, I must die naturally, which for skeletons and zombies is to stand in daylight, and for creepers (green spotted creatures) I must detonate myself. To become something I simply picture it in my mind, and to choose not to become something, I just think of my human self.
"I have two more things to tell you. You have a choice when you go to The End. You can choose to become the Ender Dragon, and become the most powerful being in the three known dimensions, or you can kill him, and bring me the egg. It must be disposed of... personally. Last, you name is Padexin, and the man you came with is Rashir. You will meet someone named TreeMerp on your travels."
Thanks! I will definitley add more colors and paragraph structure. I thought I had already put it in, but I guess not. This is my first attempt at a story, ever, and I'm glad you like it. I will gladly accept any more suggestions as to what I should put in or add.
<Edit> Colors partially added, paragraph structure won't work, and chapter two released. (2/10/12)
