Hey everyone! Welcome to my journal. I was inspired by looking at some of the journals in the Collection of Minecraft Journals thread and decided to try one of my own. I've previously attempted some YouTube videos in the past, but my speaking ability isn't all that good, so I'd like to try this medium.
With a little twist.
This journal's going to be an actual story, told from the point of view of the character. Hopefully you guys enjoy it as much as I hope to love telling it!
Start Date: November 1, 2012
Difficulty: Easy
Texture pack: Dragon Dance
Completely randomized world, only thing I came up with was the name, which will be posted in a later entry.
Hey everyone, It's Ziuk. For those of you that have been reading this journal and commented on it, thank you so much for your support! Unfortunately, the computer with the original world was corrupted, and I was unable to retrieve it. In light of that development, I will be revamping this thread so that I can start over with the same story, only with a new world setup.
So keep an eye open for the new journal, and thanks again for reading!
Where am I? What is this place? I certainly don’t remember ever seeing a place like this.
Actually, I don’t remember much of anything.
The last thing I remember is a flash of light in my memories. Some faint voices as well.
I couldn’t have lost consciousness for long; I don’t feel as though much time has passed. So, by all logic, there should be others nearby, right?
But no, I hear nobody nearby. As I awakened in whatever place I happened to have made my way to, there are no voices. No people.
Everything is silence.
The jungle I’ve awakened in offers me a sense of comfort, however; where I have ended up, there are signs of life. Trees are alive, so therefore, there should be other living things in this world, yes?
I don’t recall if I had items with me when I passed out, but after I traveled a short distance, I found some strewn throughout the foliage:
A couple tools, possibly some sticks and clumps of wood. I could see no immediate use for them, but I decided to take them anyway. However, as I did, I suddenly had a feeling that I was being watched. However, when I looked around, I saw nobody. Nothing. And yet, I could not shake that feeling. A sense of survival came over me, and as I looked into the sky, I knew that something dreadful was going to happen if I didn’t find shelter.
I looked around. While there seemed to be nothing but deep jungle in one direction, I found what seemed to be a desert in the opposite direction.
Not my perfect idea for someplace to set up camp, but the feeling of dread reminded me that I could not afford to be picky if I wanted to live. I set off into the desert, where I quickly came across an interesting structure:
I made note of it and continued onward. It didn’t take me long to reach the far end of the desert, but I could see the jungle winding its way around the landscape to meet me on the far end of the desert as well. I decided to return to the structure I’d found. At least I could make a place to stay with the tools I picked up.
I climbed aboard to top of the structure to see if I could look around. It became apparent rather quickly; this desert was surrounded by trees. While jungle surrounded me from the east and circled southward around the desert to the west, the forest to the north, while snowy, was at least less dense. I decided that a journey into it at some point might prove more fruitful than getting lost in the jungle.
Weather patterns here sure are odd.
However, the day is growing late. I have decided to hollow out some of the structure to make a small room to shelter myself. At least here I could feel safe from any impeding danger.
To be safe, however, I planted some cactus that I found in the desert outside my door. I have no picture of it, though. Oh well.
Eventually, I was able to make a crafting table, as well as a storage chest. I feel both will be instrumental in helping me survive this place.
It seems I am limited in terms of being able to see outside, however. I will have to find a way to change that. The dread that has occupied my thoughts is making its presence more known as the sun goes down. It seems to whisper to me. However, I shall shake it off for tonight and try to sleep in the corner of my shelter. As I have no bed, I shall bar the door and see what tomorrow brings.

Retired StaffI'd recommend adding links to the posts detailing the updates in the OP, while including at least a few pictures to give us an idea of it all.
