Hey guys this is my first Minecraft Story, It may not be professional writing type but I hope you like it. This book was inspired by Vagrants of the Mine and OHD2M. As you read this you will see how a couples survival can be so dramatic, conflicting, and difficult. But for there love, everlasting.
Chapter 1 - Grave
-BAAAAAA- -BAAAAAAA- There goes my alarm again, ugggh another school day today. I always hated school no matter what, I sorta liked it though but hated it at the same time too. I hate it how I have to get up early in the morning just to waste 8 hours at school. Today was Wednsday, halfway through the weekend, hoping that I would pull through. But as usual I got up, showered, and dressed, just like how I do every other day. Today was a bright and sunny day, I liked bright sunny days but I hated them too, ONLY if they were on a school day and in this case, its a school day.
Thinking of all the wonderful things I can do, I got distracted and found out that im 5 minutes late from my usual appearance at the bus stop, I knew that meant trouble. So I quickly raced over there to find that the bus has passed. "Aw crap!" I yelled. I have to walk to school now. Walking on a bright and SUNNY day to SCHOOL, just what I needed. Walking along the street with loud roaring cars driving by bullet speed. I walked slowly today and took my time, school wasn't as far as it seems but later on ill pick up the pace. After becoming partly deaf from the cars, I instead took a shortcut I used to take before whenever I missed the bus, but today was a little different.
As im walking through the shortcut I noticed at the corner of my eye these people with draggy pants pulled to bellow their waists, white hoodies over their heads, slowly approaching me. This was the BAP gang, Big Alpha Pack. I knew trouble was sneaking up on me. The BAP gang was the wannabe's who couldn't talk dope like a real gang, but they did kill a person once. "Eh Eric" they called my name. "Watcha do-en 'round hea?" Another gang member asked me. They slowly surrounded me with evil grins on their faces. "Just leave me alone you pricks." I told them. But then they stopped me "Ey, we don like 2 be cawlled pricks, u got dat?". My body turned into fear. They we're getting closer to me. "you betta not walk around hea pussyboy" one of them said to me. That made me furious, the phrase "pussyboy" refreshed alot of bad memories. I couldn't tell you right now. I grew steaming angry that I punched the gang member hard in his face. -Click- -Clock- out came the guns and -!!!!- .
............"Local Teenager, Eric Sanchez was found dead in a path along the streets of Cocanta, age 15, brunette hair, 5''3 as he was described by a local citizen passing by. The Police has informed us that he was walking on his way to school when according to his wounds, he was shot. Possibly by the local gang, the BAP's".
Chapter 2 - Isolated
I woke up in the motion of being twirled, like as if I was inside a tornado. I couldn't see anything but a darkness around me. I thought I was blind, that wasn't until I looked down to find a hole growing bigger and bigger, giving a clear image of some grass. Once I hit the ground, I grew unconcious and blacked out.
After a while of being unconcious, I woke up in a strange area. I was surrounded by trees, lakes, puddles, hills, grass, and from what I saw in the distance, A mountain. I finally stood up to find myself in a part of the wilderness. I was confused and scared. How the hell did I get here? Where am I? I was stranded in the middle of nowhere. I grew nervous, shocked, and scared then ever. I slowly walked around, as I walked around I heard a "snnort" and turned around to find a pinkish slob, on the ground, it was a pig. It wasn't a massive pig, but it seemed harmless. I stepped back away from it and continued. I was shaking in fear. Pretty soon I began to cry and shout "WHERE AM I?!?!?!?!?" I didn't know how I got here or where I was, I feel like Im stuck in a Maze with no End or Start. I had no choice but to keep walking around, killing myself was going to make me suffer more, and I didn't want to kill myself. Who knows, this could just be a forest near a town and that the Police dropped my body here thinking I was dead. That theory was wrong when I felt my head, no scar or bump. I was fully healed and healthy. I wasn't disabled or anything. Once I got my head straight, I kept walking.
After walking around alot, I found a goat\sheep, chicken, and cows. There were some nice looking hills and collosall and massive tall mountains. I felt like a baby wolf walking through the wilderness wondering what the heck to do. Thats what I felt like. I grew very tired after walking so I went to a tree to lay against it, but as soon as I was close to it, I triped on a root and hit my arm on the trunk of the tree, causing a massive piece of it to break off, causing the tree to completly collapse with pieces of wood.
With the pieces of wood on the floor, I had an idea. I knew I wasn't going to stay alive without surviving. Just then I knew what I had to do, I grabbed some wood one by one and made them in more cleaner wood. After awhile I had wood planks, but not enough, so what I did was I went around chopping down trees, making wood planks, and throwing them into the pile. After an hour or 2 of chopping wood, growing weak with my hands, I had to create a hatchet to chop wood with, so I grabbed a piece of wood and made them into strong sticks. Then I grabbed 3 pieces of wood and made a hatchet. After that I went up to a tree to give it a test, and somehow, it worked. I could chop a tree %15 percent faster now. But that wasn't until the light in the sky caught my eye. It was starting to become night, so quickly, I grabbed all my wood and carefully formed a massive house that was like 12-15 meters long and 15 meters wide. I could never have been more satisfied with it. Once I built the last piece, just before the crack of night, a sheep bumped into me, scaring the living nightmares out of me. It somehow bruised my waist. I looked down to check but only to find some wool at my feet. I knew then that without sleep, I would never survive. So I made my self a nice bed with a crafting box\table that I made and placed it in my house. After that, I went to sleep at night. And night in the wilderness is BAD without shelter. You never know what could be lurking in those shadows. At this moment everything is about survival, for some reason I had great knowledge that I thought I never had before on surviving. It was weird, but I didn't care.
Chapter 3 - Nothing is Alone, everything is together
I woke up to find sunlight beaming into my eye. For a second I didn't know where I was until the memory rushed into my head. Today would usually be a school morning, but this time, I woke up feeling wide awake. I got up and put my shirt on and walked down the hall of the house. Just as I was walking I felt a breeze colliding onto me. I turned to my right to find the door I made open. That was somewhat strange to me in a small way but then I thought that since the door wasn't as good as a house door, It might open sometimes. That was the thought of reality in my mind until I found my hatchet missing. I searched everywhere and I couldn't find it. I then thought that somebody was actually here, and it was true. Wanna know why its true? There is dirt-footprints of sneakers in my living room, and those were not my shoes. I checked to see if my wood was still there, and thankfully it was. But then an idea hit me to make a safe place to put my stuff, a chest. I grabbed a few pieces of wooden planks and went to my crafting table. After figuring out the form of a chest, I succesfully constructed a chest and placed it in my room. Then I went back to the crafting table and made myself another hatchet. While making the hatchet, I thought of different materials to make. So I brainstormed and made a sword and shovel. While brainstorming I looked out my window and saw a beautiful mountain with holes in it, looking to be like caves. Just then It hit me, I made a pickaxe just incase. My Great-Grandfather was a miner back in the Gold Rush, and Maybe I was born with some skills of mining, I thought.
After creating materials and storing them in my chest, I went outside, going back to the "Who was in my house" situation. I walked around near a hill. While I was walking I suddenly stumbled apon a deep hole, It was dark but as I looked closely, there was a sparkle of light in it. Light in a cave? Thats impossible. I scanned the hole with the light and got a closer look to find the light coming from a torch inplanted into the wall of the hole, or should I say, the cave. I wondered who was down there, so I called "Hello?" A few times, but with no reply. All I heard was the sound of "PA...PA....PA..." Someone was down there. So in full curiosity, I climbed down the hole into the cave. There was torches everywhere, I followed the lights until I reached a dead end. Then, the moment that scared the sh-t out of me. I heard a "Hello?" behind my back and I turned around to find the light shining in her face. I could see her clearly, a dark-brunette with green eyes wearing an orange shirt and a pear of jeans, along with a greyish pickaxe in her right hand and a pair of greenish-purple sneakers she was wearing that looked like the ones that were footprinted in my house. I scanned her for a split second. I replied "Who are you?" in a scared tone. She said "Im Anna".
"Im Eric" I told her. Right then she said "Oh my gosh, im not alone!" She cracked a smile on her face and hugged me with relief. "I thought I was the only one who was in this place!" she kept telling me over and over. After constricting me to death, she let me go. I told her "I knew you were in my house, you need to wash those sneakers". She said "Yeah... I know, I just finished mining this thing that Can light torches, this is the last of it in here" showing me a blackish rock in her hand. "Oh thats coal!" "I knew there was a name for it." She said. "Lets go back to my house, we have some things to do" I said without even thinking.
We carefully climbed out of the cave and walked safely back to my house. This was the first time Anna got a good look at it. "I really like this place" she said while looking around. "I hadn't got a chance to decorate it. But hey, do you have any torches with you? I asked. "Yeah here take a few and light up the house, it does seem a bit dark" She replied with a point. After lighting up the torches and placing them around the house, you couldn't be able to see 1 spot of darkness. "Looks real nice" Anna said. And she was right, the best thing to have while surviving in the wilderness is a massive lit up house. But that didn't solve everything.
Chapter 4 - Hunger
When mid-day struck, I started to grow a tingly feeling in my stomach that grew worse by the second. Just then my stomach roared and growled, and punched and kicked. I was seriously hungry. I wasn't feeling good, I knew then I had to get some food. I went up to Anna who was walking in through the door bringing in some cracked rocks the size of the wood I had and told her "Im going to be going out for a sec to find some food, stay here". Once I said that, without hesitating, I walked out the door in search for the solution to my hunger.
I walked around alot thinking of where I could get food in the wilderness. I thought of fishing, but then I realized i didn't have a rod and that I couldn't have time to make one. Just then I grew an idea, the day that I came here, I saw a pig... Then I kept repeating in my head "A pig! Thats it! A pig!". I pulled out my sword and started searching for a pig, after a while I found one around a viney forest and killed it. I had chunks of meat from it, but I knew I couldn't just eat it raw, I had to cook it. I knew there was a way how. I kept thinking "Cook it... Cook it.. Coal i- Cook it.. COAL!" That word that entered my head. Coal, when coal is lit up, it burns. I had the perfect idea to cook it, I grew excited for the first time and ran back to my house.
"Hey Anna!" I came in the house blurting out those words. She came out of the hall and said "Yeah?". I showed her the meat and told her my idea of cooking. "Hmm... my dad was a chef of Red Lobster.. before I came here.". Those words gave me full relief, Im pretty sure she knew how cooking works over there. "Alright so we gotta make some hard "stove" to cook this meat..- Wait you have some pieces of those rocks you brought in earlier, right?" I asked in a hyper way. "Sure hold on!" She said while running down the hall into a room... a room that I never saw before. I glanced at the door to find that she made herself a room but with wood and Rock. She came out with a few pieces and gave them to me.
I quickly ran to the crafting table and started brainstorming. After a few minutes of thinking I got to work. I formed a stone box with a small portion of it where the coal can burn and ontop of it where the food can cook. After I completed the invention, I placed it in the what was now to be planned on the spot as the kitchen. I grabbed some coal out of my pocket and put it at the coal section and placed the meat at the top. After a few tries of struggling to light the coal, a spark of fire started crackling on the coal, traveling across the rock causing it to burn up. "Its working!" I said excitely. I sat there while Anna went back to making her room and saw the meat cook. Just when the coal was fully burned. I carefully took the meat out, it was hot but cooked perfectly. I placed it carefully on the table and ran to the crafting table with the left over pieces of rocks and quickly tried to form 2 plates. I failed a few times but after 3 minutes I formed somewhat a half-bowl\Half plate form but it was good enough.
I called Anna to come to the kitchen with the words "Time to eat". As she came down the hall there was a cut on her arm, not a huge cut but a cut that didn't seem much. "Wow... it smells... weird but good at the same time" She said with a cute looking face. When the pork got closer to my mouth, my mouth began watering waterfalls. After I took the first bite, I felt like I just tasted a new sensation. Out of all those first bites of food I took. Out of all that chicken, meat, rice, corn, and other food I ate, they were never as good as this first bite. The pork was ACTUALLY good. I quietly said to myself "Thank you Mr.Pig-That-I-Killed" and continued eating the pork.
Chapter 5 - No such thing as "Always good"
After eating the pork I noticed Anna's cut that I saw earlier was now a scar. It was quiet odd but still it really didn't matter. It was possibly an hour before sunset. When Anna went back to making her room, I grew bored for some reason. And that was good, whenever Im bored, I always find something to do. And in this case I thought of the idea of starting to build the kitchen. A plain and simple kitchen. After thinking about it for a while I got to work. I carefully took the time to craft some chairs and tables, it took a whole entire hour. After placing them gently in the kitchen, I slowly moved the stove to a decent spot in the kitchen and placed a slab of stone ontop of it as part of the counter. After that was done, thats all I could do for now.
The kitchen was coming along a bit nice. I walked to my room to get some rest and said Good Night to Anna. The next morning I woke up on the floor next to my bed. I knew for sure I rolled over off the bed, but I didn't really care. After that I got up and while trying to put my shirt on I kept hearing a noise that started to slightly get annoying. I went to check what it was and heard that it was coming from Anna's room. Having to not see her room at all, I walked in the door to find a massive lit up room that looked nice a smooth with a bed and empty bookshelves along with a desk and some windows already. "Wow, this is Amazing" I said. "Yeah thanks I've been working like, all night on this" Anna said. "I've got most of everything I planned but there are just a few things we need to get. We need to go mining." Anna continued. "You need some rest Anna, I was planning to go mining already." I told her. She tried to convince me to come with her but I didn't let her. I grabbed my sword and my pickaxe (Which I now upgraded to a stone pickaxe) and walked out the door to the nearest cave.
I headed straight for the mountain, knowing that there was going to be some good caves in there. After finding a decent cave, I started mining. From what I could see, these caves were huge, and everytime you lit a torch, it would just get bigger and bigger. I did mine some Iron, probably had a few nuggets. After mining about 30 of them I felt humid in the cave. As I got closer to the bottom, I saw a light flickering. It turned out to be a puddle of lava. That moment was the first time I saw lava. I got close to it and it didn't seem SO hot if you placed your arm 3 feet above it. Just then at the tip of the lava pool there was a blue sparkle. I couldn't see what it was, but I knew it was valuable. We would have to mine anything good enough for us to survive. With all my courage, I carefully walked along the edges of the lava pool watching my step. As soon as I got close enough to it, I started mining it. It took me literally a few minutes to mine it all. When I felt it in my hand, it was somewhat hard and squishy and bluely at the same time. Just of out curiousity, I squezed it hard enough to make a blueish liquid pop out. I tried to wipe it off but it stained to my fingers. I figured of it as some type of paint or dye. After making my way slowly back I heard a noise. A noise that was different. It was somewhat weirdish. I looked around and then I heard it again. It was a moan. A moan.... thats not good. I had no idea what it was until I saw 2 eyes lurking from the dark spot in the cave and out came a greenish human with its arms out. It was a zombie! I took out my sword and tried to fight it, my sword wasn't strong enough to kill it quickly, but after cutting its arms off it stopped and dropped to the floor. But that wasn't the end, at the corner of my eye came 2 more along with 3 more behind them. I started running up the cave in fear, I was being chased by zombies, one of my biggest nightmares. They didn't stop chasing me, when I could see the sunlight I was growing in excitement of escaping an attack until I bumped into something. All I could make out from it was a greenish slob. Then it made a hissing sound and BOOM. I felt a strong force throwing me to the back off the wall making bone cracks in my body loud enough to be heard 10 feet away. I blacked out a few seconds later. But before fully blacking out, as my vision slowly turned black, from the last seconds I could make out was Zombies running away from the sunlight shining on them. But I remembered that I wasn't THAT close to the sunlight... something else was shining on them..
After being unconcious for a few hours I woke up, bruised and bleeding. I could barely walk. I slowly crawled my way out of the cave into the sunlight. The sun was almost about to set. I had to pick up the pace. I slowly stood up and started speed walking. The closer I got to my house the weaker I grew. When I saw the roof of it from the bush of a tree, I started walking faster but at the same time, I grew weaker. Luckily I got to the door and went inside. From my right all I could see was a jaw-dropped on Anna's face. She ran up to me before I passed out completly. I was bleeding and bruised everywhere, I was for sure dead. No doubt about it.
I'm Back. It's been 6 years since I've last worked on this story, but now the wait is over.
Chapter 6 - Resurrection
I woke up in bruising pain. Visions of another life before me passing through my eyes, flickering memories. Everything was white, until things took shape and form. I saw nothing, then a ceiling, then a corner of the wall, and instantly my vision came clear. "****," my first words uttered. I rolled to the side and fell onto the sharp wood floor. I heard her, gasping and running up to me. I felt her hands lift me up, but then a third one. I was able to stand to my feet and and see him. Above average height, damaged looking dirt mud hair, weird armor. "Are you okay?" he asked.
"Who are you?" it came clear to me that he was bleeding too. "I'm Steve."
I could notice that he had a look that he had seen this before. "You need to eat, otherwise you won't heal in time." Anna took attention to the chest I made and pulled out some meat. "Eat this Eric, now!" she worried. I did so, quite unpleasant but for some reason I felt better. I cleared my throat - "What happened?" He took off his armor and put removed a blueish heavy looking sword from his back. "You almost died. Creepers and zombies." I looked at him like he was joking, but my memory reminded me otherwise. I retorted "Yeah but there was some blast, what the hell was that?" He chuckled, "Creepers. They're suicide bombers basically and you were just unlucky." Whatever.
I noticed that there was a hole in the wall that looked outside, but I also saw that there was glass... How? It's so strange how it's only been 3 days and I'm starting to feel like I'm living 6 years of another life. Two strangers, practically. I kept my attention on Steve, for some reason I felt like he had answers to questions I have yet bothered to ponder on. So I asked him. "What is this place?" Clearing my throat, again. He looked up and said "The Overworld." The over-what? Flew over-my-head that's for sure. "Wait... you're new here right?" I got a sense of his voice for the first time. No fear in it. "Yeah, I don't know, one day I was walking on a street.. and then here I am. This wilderness." I told him. He smiled "Oh this isn't just the wilderness. I know what you're talking about. Earth, right? I haven't been on Earth since... well anyway. Long story short kid, you've slipped into a rare crack in the universe which would only happen if you die on Earth. Lucky for you, you can start a new life." He walked to the kitchen, punched a hole in the wooden wall. "But from rock bottom, haha." I gave him a look, and then suddenly he pulled out a sheet of glass and put it in the hole.
"He knows everything about this place Eric" Anna chimed in. "Basically, this is our resurrection - as he told me - after we died." I had to take this all in. After all, it's the only explanation that I was given. "But my life.. my family - I'M DEAD?!" I snapped. "No! You're dead to them, but you're still alive... just here."
I couldn't. I ran to my room and slammed the door. I only noticed that for some reason it was better than the one I knew I made. Muffled through my hearing "Let him... everyone reacts the same." Nothing makes sense, The Overworld? What, some fairy-tale sounding place? I'm in the middle of nowhere and I'm dying.. I wish I had.
She came in my room. "Hey" and sat next to me. For the first time I looked in her eyes and and explored her. Something started happening. Me and her both were in the same shoes, same fate, the same... I felt something, something that told me I could trust her and... no it couldn't be. "I'm happy here." She said. "Why?" it confused me, who could be happy like this? "We're both from.. Earth. You said you were on the street when you died, right?" I nodded. "I was in my bedroom." She scratched the back of her neck, and then felt it all around.
"What do you mean? What happened?"
"That place wasn't for me.. I fought and I tried and.."
It hit me.
"So I left," she said with eyebrows raised in reflective retrospective.
I'm sorry. But I didn't say that. For some reason, I didn't feel the need to.
"I'm not sad. I don't know why, I'm not. But I'm here, and I'm free."
She laid her head on me. Only then I realized, so was I. We had both fought for survival in our past lives. I remembered the days at school, shoved against a wall and being hit with lefts and rights. Coming home from a physical fight to an emotional fight. It was over for me, but now a new one has started. The fight for my survival in here. I couldn't think why this world existed, but it almost feels like I belonged here. My attention drew to her hair, her heartbeat, her breathing. She was real. Me and her against the world. I don't know why, but for some reason I didn't feel the need to fight it. I was being attracted to her. The idea that we depend on each other now and that we both come from what I would assume to be tough lives. I couldn't bare to ask her more of it, not yet. I could only assume. I mean, how different could we be coming from the same world, the same life, the same way of living? My thoughts faded to an end.
We woke up next to each other, the sun had risen by then. My eyes opened to hers, closed. Then she woke too, her sparkling green eyes like the color of the world I had fallen in. For a moment, there was absolute peace. Just me and her, our world. Not this one that we were in. It felt warm, like a comforting warm blanket. There was love, so we both took advantage of the moment and touched lips for the first time. For the first time in forever, I had given love to someone and I could feel it's return from her. She said "you're a noble guy" which I thought was kind of funny. Who says that after a first kiss? But just as quick as that moment, we both arose. There was work to be done and forces against us outside of these walls. I knew what I had to do. Make this world into my world. I think that's what Steve did, only now that he's gone but he put a note on the floor saying "We'll meet again." The house looked much better, he had crafted and built some supplies for us. Tools, and some food he had slayed from overnight.
We stepped out the house. Bright sunny day, with many things and places to go mine and craft. This was the start of one of our many voyages, a voyage of two loving and a noble you could say. The Overworld was ours, and we are to roam.
Well I've forgotten the rules of the forum. How silly of me!
No matter, no harmful intentions am I right? Don't mind this bump, this will perhaps maybe be my last post on here. Minecraft has been a big part of my childhood growing up and I've only begun revisiting the memories. This story is my closure. Thank you for reading. Also, if you read the first 5 chapters, please excuse my writing mistakes as I was only a 11-12 year old haha.
