Not sure if you've found a server you're happy with yet. So I'll go ahead and tell you a little about mine, just in case...
We're called Raigate! We've got a bunch of neat features that enhance the Minecraft gameplay. We have Mo' Creatures, and I hope that's something you're looking for in a server, we can provide it. We function on a community feel, so we have an economy as well Towny and other nice economy/community related features. Of course these do not mean that you have to interact directly with other players if you do not wish to, but I assure you we're all very friendly and helpful!
Our community is very small at the moment as we're still a rather new server, but we're hoping to grow into something more here very soon!

Vanilla Valley sounds like something you'd like. We are a whitelisted, 18+ community. We are semi-vanilla and strive to keep it that way. We have a great community with great builders and farmers, you would fit right in. We don't have PVP so you won't have to worry about fighting other players but we are set on hard difficulty so the mobs may get to you at night. Survival No mods, spotted an epic jungle but never built in it, could make your home there, has some REALLY nice caves!

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW: High trust level since theres so little people who play on it, no griefing, It's a mindcrack style server with a nether hub, friendly, we already beat the enderdragon, we have an xp farm right at spawn (unless you preffer to find your own and start from absolute 0), if needed you can bring a friend if you find that it would make your experience funner!
As far as rules go:
No griefing, no stealing, build away from other people (not a rule, it's just a bit annoying, claim your own territory, that way u can build away with no cares in the world, that's why i suggested u bring your best friend)
