Working Mic?: I do have a working mic. Audio Technica 2020, I believe it is.
Can you use Skype/Teamspeak?: Yes!
About Yourself: I am an aspiring writer, I love to read, I like to be productive. I have participated in two novel writing competitions, where I have produced two work-in-progress novels. I like to work quickly and I enjoy meeting new people.
What do you plan to accomplish working for this server?: Of course, I'd love to write some lore and legends, as that's something I very much like to do. I enjoy building characters and their backgrounds, I love the character development process.
What can you provide to the team?: Besides my writing, I can provide a lot of positivity. There's never enough in the world, y'know? And friendship, I can provide friendship.
Why do you want to join our team?: I would like to meet new people as well as practice writing lore and legends. Fantasy has always been something that I've enjoyed writing, and I'd definitely like to strengthen my skills.
Position: Writer
What's your expertise in writing? (Narratives, Fantasy, Realism, Etc.): I can write narratives, I have written a fantasy novel, and I love character building!
What have you written in the past?: Two novels -- both for separate National Novel Writing Month competitions.
Do you have any examples of your previous work?:
Past the deserts of Arabia, the seas of Denmark, and the second star to the right of London lies rolling hills and a small provincial French town where our story is set. It is the year 1700. In this small town, Maurice, an inventor, lives in a small cottage on the outskirts of this provincial town. He is the father to three daughters -- all of which are beautiful and intellectual beings...some more than others. One daughter, the eldest of the pack, Corinne is married and lives a long ways away with her husband. Her two sisters frequently come to stay with her -- and when their father needs them the most, they’re always there to deliver.
This was one of the many times when Maurice needed his daughters. If he wasn’t so unable and immobilized, he may have been able to fix the problem himself, though this wasn’t the case. His daughters were at his every beckon -- polite and caring girls were they, never asking for anything from their father in return for the countless tasks he had them complete. Ever since his sudden immobilization, he was stuck in his small cottage, inventing -- creating machines and devices. Belle was quite familiar with the town, and although the villagers meant it in the most sincerest and joking way, Belle didn’t understand that they legitimately thought that her father was crazy. He might have been off his rockers at points in time, but he wasn’t crazy. Belle was going to stand by that. Corinne, on the other hand, understood but was not dazed by the villagers’ ludicrous words. Maurice, well, he didn’t mind the villagers’ remarks, and did his best to ignore the supposed joking words.
What is your favorite writing piece or author?: I have many favorite authors, but I completely fell in love with Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi, as well as Lexicon by Max Barry. I love the writing styles and the concepts.
Give us a short description of a semi-original Race you would create.
Scaly tails sprouting out of their derrieres with blunt spikes poking out. To the touch, harmless, but to be whacked with the uncommon thing would create lasting scars. The creatures are adorned with most of the human elements; however, there are a few exceptions. Scales line the arms, until forearm meets wrist, ending the segment with a fleshy, human hand. There's nothing special about the nails, they aren't sharp or lined with poison. But to make up for that, sharp teeth, teeth that could smash even metal to tiny fragments. A scaly neck, lacking an Adam's apple, and eyes that just aren't quite human.

About Yourself: I'm an avid writer and gamer who loves anything that mixes these two interests of mine. As a writer I love to create complex plotlines and characters with solid and believable personalities. As a person I'm friendly and trustworthy. I hope my lack of voicechat doesn't bother (reason being my horrible pronunciation of English (it's not my native language) and having no mic).
I have played Minecraft on and off since Spring 2013. I have also experience with building http://imgur.com/SjMooz3http://imgur.com/TciaKy2 Everything seen on the screenshots has been built from scratch.
What do you plan to accomplish working for this server?
Creating intricate lore and building immersion via narrative and characters. Also, I can help with building if need be.
What can you provide to the team?
My writing skills, general help, and support.
Why do you want to join our team?
I'm seeking new experiences as a writer. I happened to come across with this project and grew interested after reading about it. I'm interested in the possibilities of Minecraft multiplayer as a storytelling method, and would love to explore it as a part of a good team.
Position: Writer
What's your expertise in writing?(Narratives, Fantasy, Realism, Etc.)
I would describe myself as a rather versatile writer; no matter is it sci-fi or fantasy, first- or third-person narrative, I have experience.
What have you written in the past?
Short horror stories, various short works exploring some of my ideas (e.g. fantasy, science-fantasy, hardboiled/w fantasy elements), a lengthy science-fiction work (under works). Also a buttload of essays.
Do you have any examples of your previous work? (If not, write us a paragraph of a random dungeon, include setting, lore, etc.)
Link to a moderately recent sci-fi novella of mine: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10385286/1/Starbound-Shadows-from-the-Abyss (based on a game's universe in creation of which I have had no part in!!! characters, setting and events in the story are original work of mine.) Although complete understanding would require prior knowledge of said game, reading some parts should offer a general look to my prose.
Here's also a short excerpt of a fantasy narrative that is meant to be an introduction to a larger work.
The Tale of Eighteen Swords
A long time ago in a land far away, lived two brothers. The brothers were talented sword-smiths, rumoured to be able to imbue the elements of nature and magic to their creations. With the legendary skills, they helped the countrymen in their lives by giving them their skillfully crafted tools. Soon people all around the land spoke of the smith brothers.
Eventually, the rumour reached the ears of the mighty Knight Brotherhood. All nine members of highest council of the Brotherhood left for the land far away, to seek help of the brothers. The Realm of the Brotherhood was in turmoil; the Brotherhood had to find the most powerful weapons to ensure peace in their land. So they travelled through many dangers to the smith brothers' workshop.
One bright summer day, the knights arrived to the workshop and asked for nine swords, one for each member of the council. Though they were well-spoken, the brothers saw the greed and lust for power in the hearts of the nine knights. They knew the Knight Brotherhood would not settle for their own land, but wage war and use the power to enslave all worlds and realms. Thus, the brothers denied the knights' request.
The knights did not give up easily, not after how far they had travelled. They returned to the workshop the next day and pleaded the brothers to give them the power to protect their homes and families. Like the day before, the brothers denied.
The knights returned once again. On the third day, the knights returned and begged the brothers to grant them their wish. This time, younger of the brothers accepted the task. Without telling to the older brother, he crafted a sword for each of the knights. The Nine Swords of Ruin with unseen powers gave the knights the force to destroy every foe they would ever meet.
Older brother found out the grave mistake his brother had made. He couldn't stop his brother before the knights had obtained the Swords of Ruin and begun their reign of terror. The younger brother still had his faith on the knights' good intentions and denied to help his brother to stop them. It seemed all hope had been lost.
However, the older brother was clever and crafted a plan. From his brother he heard what powers he had given to the swords, and made nine more swords to counter each Sword of Ruin. Alone, he forged the Nine Swords of Valor. Alone, he travelled to the Realm of the Knight Brotherhood where the knights ruled with unimaginable cruelty. Alone, he sought nine virtuous heroes and gave the Swords of Valor to them, along with the duty of saving the world from the Brotherhood and the Swords of Ruin.
Many wars were fought after those days. Even after the smith brothers passed away, the swords remained powerful. Even after the Brotherhood was crushed, the indestructible swords laid on the bloodstained battlefields until the next wielder claimed it as their own. Even after the nine heroes faded away, the wars waged on. Kingdoms fell, the world became a desolation, and the Eighteen Swords of Power were lost and forgotten.
A legend was born: who would control both the Swords of Valor and Ruin, would have an access to an unlimited source of magical power. Many have tried, many have failed, many have never been heard of again. Some say: if the lands will ever be populated again, may the Swords of Power stay lost forever, for the good of all peoples.
What is your favorite writing piece or author?
Making me to do a choice is so cruel ;_; Well, I picked few from various fields of writing and storytelling.
Literature: J.R.R. Tolkien (Tolkien's legendarium), George Orwell (1984)
TV & Film: Joss Whedon (Firefly), Ridley Scott (Blade Runner)
Games: Pixel (Cave Story), Ken Levine (Bioshock)
Give us a short description of a semi-original Race you would create.
Gremlins
In the dark corners of the world lives a race with gleaming lizard eyes, long pointy ears and skin dark as seaweed of murky waters. Folklore describes these beings as mischievous rascals, but they are far more menacing than the people of the civilized lands would expect. Gremlins are a race of warriors that raid and burn villages in the darkness of night, appearing in large hordes from seemingly out of nowhere. For generations they have lived underground, told to have reached high skills of war in the endless fight against the creatures of the underworld. They have not formed a complex hierarchy or a wide union, instead having the small societies ruled by the strongest member around, dominating over the cave and treasure horde that is usually set under a large hill.

Damn, was going to apply yesterday for lore writing position but didn't have enough time to finish the application.
Here it is anyways if you want to take a look at it.
Applying to become a Lore Writer: Name:

I'm 15 Working Mic?:
I have a headset with an above average mic. Can you use Skype/Teamspeak?:
I use Skype all the time. About Yourself:
I'm currently a freshman in high school and working my ass off at a college prep school. I enjoy creative writing and creating fictional worlds to lose myself in if I am ever overly stressed. My favorite to date was a land called Chyrnia inhabited with all manner of magical creatures from elves to dragons. What do you plan to accomplish working for this server?
I have some free time now that I've finished my basketball season and would love to get some creative writing practice. What can you provide to the team?
I can provide above average writing skills and a unique and creative mind to craft your Minecraft world into a legend told throughout all of Minecraftia. Why do you want to join our team?
As stated above I would really like the practice with creative writing and would love to just sit down and get my creative juices flowing. Position:
I'm currently applying to become a Lore Writer. What's your expertise in writing? (Narratives, Fantasy, Realism, Etc.)
I really love creative writing, mainly fantasy oriented (your classic knight, dragon, princess, but sometimes I like to throw in a twist like maybe the princess has enslaved the dragon and the knight must overcome his bias to save the poor creature). I also am fairly decent at writing poetry, although I doubt much will be needed in terms of lore. What have you written in the past?
Here's an example of a sestina I wrote a while back: (if you are unfamiliar with what a sestina is then allow me to shed some light on the topic, a sestina is a vicious piece where you repeat the end word at the end of each line in each stanza once, but you must use the same words to end the lines in the next stanza however they cannot be in any place they had been before (for example if you ended with night on line 1 and then on line 3 it could not appear in either line 1 or line 3 again). On top of that there is generally some sort of syllable count that you need to stick with throughout the piece. The last stanza must use all the words you ended the lines with as well.)
The night was nothing, all horrible black.
Heavy rainfall and the cawing of crows.
Reaching out of the dark, a horrid hand.
Itís endless and yet living, my nightmare.
Of a kind which is unfathomable.
All I can do is wait, wait for the end.
It is near, I can feel it, itís the end.
All of this horrible and wretched black.
Itís evilness is unfathomable.
There are so many, still mocking me, the crows
Inducing terrible, endless nightmares.
And still it is reaching towards me, that hand.
It is almost here, I can feel the hand.
I am still waiting, waiting for the end
Of this horrible, disturbing nightmare.
All of it is blinding, all of this black.
Eating, ripping, and scavenging, those crows.
The horribleness, unfathomable.
All of my pain is unfathomable.
It reaches closer, that demon, that hand.
They are still ripping and gouging, the crows.
I feel it closing in, is this the end?
Still nothing but this black, only this black...
This horrendous, never ending nightmare.
All of this has gone too long, this nightmare.
Itís strenuousness, unfathomable.
Itís color was an insanely deep black.
Still waiting to close around me, that hand.
Will it bring the inevitable end?
Blood dripping from the long beaks of the crows.
Then they drop dead, the pain inducing crows.
Itís starting to lift away, the nightmare.
It is all starting to come to itís end.
All I have seen is unfathomable.
And now I see the owner of the hand.
And slowly, all of the black seeps away.
The black was white, and pigeons were the crows.
The hand, my momís, whoís unfathomable.
She brings this painful nightmare to an end. Do you have any examples of your previous work? (If not, write us a paragraph of a random dungeon, include setting, lore, etc.)
Well there was a poem I wrote a while ago, but here is something that could actually be used for the server:
You look back at your men, you have been walking for god knows how long in this torrential downpour, they have a clear sense of misery about them. Perhaps it was their families at home waiting for their safe return, a return that you can't ensure due to the nature of the task you had been assigned. You were to drive the demon hordes from the town of Kindra, and the way your men looked now, you weren't all to sure this task was possible. They looked like they hadn't seen the light of day in years, hope lost of every seeing the beautiful rays falling on their faces again. You trudge on your men sulking behind you as you continue your march through the dreary weather. Then all of a sudden, a wicked crackle and heat filled the air, a man behind you screaming and writhing in agony. Magic. A bolt of pure lightning had been brought down directly in the middle of your men and their dread turned to terror in an instant. All thought of the mission lost, survival their only foreseeable option at this point. But that didn't save them from the archers raining hell down upon them. They dropped one after another collapsing into the mud they had been trekking through just moments before, never to leave that spot and to see their families again. Laughter filled the air, the sound of a hundred monsters cackling. Whipping their heads back in laughter as they saw more and more men drop dead. A log cracked across your head and the world spun into blackness. What is your favorite writing piece or author?
I really loved reading the Odyssey. I also loved the Fablehaven series. The Odyssey you've undoubtedly heard of, but Fablehaven is much less known. Fablehaven is a fantasy story about two children Kendra and Seth who go to visit their grandparents on their property in the middle of no where. Little do they know that their grandparents are actually the guardians of a sacred treasure which is one of the keys used to unlock the great demon prison. Really a great book series and very easy to read. If you haven't read it I'd suggest picking it up. Give us a short description of a semi-original Race you would create.
The Lurkers. A small race found mainly in swampy areas or marshes. They take delight in ambushing unsuspecting travelers. Their brains are very weak, but they steal equipment from their victims making them all the more deadly. They are very easy to fend off, that is if they are alone, but they hunt in packs making them rather nasty creatures to deal with. Their main weakness is the bright light (hence why they live in swamps / marshes under the murky sludge) as their eyes are rather weak.

Would you be interested in writing random literature that we can store in books in libraries? It'll be mildly influenced by Lore however.

Name: Ruben Ign: megabeans500 Age: 16 Working Mic?: Yes. Can you use Skype/Teamspeak?: Only Skype at the moment, I'll be able to use TS as soon as I get batteries for my microphone. About Yourself: Avid builder and artist, writer, fluent speaker, writer, and reader of English, German, and Latin (for the most part), novice in French, Italian, and Spanish. Just a regular high school student living from Texas, from Germany. What do you plan to accomplish working for this server? To build whatever the server needs. What can you provide to the team?Architectural and cultural knowledge and history, ideas, lore, and general builds. Why do you want to join our team? I was recently working as head-builder, web-designer, and head of staff on another server that recently went under due to lack of funds and staff.
Position: Architect/Builder. How do you go about planning your builds? (Provide steps): Here is the basic layout I use when constructing builds:
Get a general idea of the thing I am trying to build.
Find images of real life buildings, or in game builds, to use for inspiration. (A great source of inspiration for me is the WoK server.)
Construct a layout out of the building.
Construct a loose foundation to leave room for later edits.
Construct the center of the building, and the build the rest of the structure from left to right and top to bottom. (It's also the style I use to do drawings)
Go around and add additional detail and fix mistakes.
Build the interior
Ask others for criticism.
Have you ever led a build team? No, but I have been a head architect/builder of various servers. What type of build styles are you proficient with?
Accepted, I will PM you my skype for further information
About Yourself: That’s…awfully broad. I like writing, Minecraft, RP, and RPG’s.
What do you plan to accomplish working for this server? I hope to have a chance to write for an audience and contribute to the server.
What can you provide to the team? I can provide a professional writing style and high-quality material.
Why do you want to join our team? It looks like a fun opportunity to test and refine my skills and be part of a larger project with other people.
Position: Lore Writer
What's your expertise in writing? (Narratives, Fantasy, Realism, Etc.) I’ve written a bit of everything, I suppose, but recently, mostly fantasy.
What have you written in the past? I’ve been writing for other MC servers recently.
Do you have any examples of your previous work? (If not, write us a paragraph of a random dungeon, include setting, lore, etc.) Here’s an excerpt from one of the last pieces of lore I wrote:
(A bit of background: this poem belongs to an ancient society of cryophilic creatures. They revere winter and everything associated with the season. The poem is written in a slightly archaic style to convey its age.)
The Dance of Winter
(Can be sung/chanted together, or with the first and third lines of each stanza read by only one man)
(Slow and dark)
Every day the air is colder;
All the leaves are gone.
Every night the wolves grow bolder;
Winter comes anon.
(Picking up speed and light)
Every day the sun sets quickly;
Longer stays the moon.
Every night the snow falls thickly;
Winter’s coming soon.
(Brightly and faster still)
Winter rapidly approaches;
We mere mortals have no choice.
Wind picks up and frost encroaches;
Winter’s coming, let’s rejoice!
(Dance begins)
What is your favorite writing piece or author? This is an awfully difficult question. I’ve read far too many authors and books that I loved to give you a complete answer. Off the top of my head, however, I suppose I’d say Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. He makes a powerful, moving point with impressive concision.
Give us a short description of a semi-original Race you would create. I notice your server has a rather draconic theme. In that spirit, I present to you the drakanai. Humanoids distantly related to dragons, the drakanai have mostly human facial features, except for their lack of hair. Spines run along their backs all the way to their scalps, where they spread out into scaly crests. The other feature that distinguishes the drakan from the human is its wings. Drakanai have an impressive wingspan, and in fact were mistaken for angels upon their first meeting with humans. However, they soon proved decisively that this first impression was a grave mistake. The drakanai are a warlike race and in fact almost overran all of human civilization before they were driven back. Today, drakanai live on the fringes of society, waiting for their chance to rise up once more.

Applying to become a Lore Writer:
Name:
My name is Jonah Campbell

Age:
I'm 15
Working Mic?:
I would love to.
