What do you think about PokeMC?(50 words or more): I think it is a great server so far. There are lots of friendly players, and most are willing to help. I feel like it could use a better server though, as when lots of people are on it lags, and the spawn rates become low. Though that is not something that bothers me much.[/pre]

Review:
After searching far and wide for a decent server to play Pixelmon on, I found this one. There were several things that drew me, from the awesome spawn region to the fact that this is the first server I found that used the most recent version of Pixelmon. After playing for a while, I was amazed at the level of friendliness and camaraderie the players had among themselves. I highly recommend playing, even if you're not a Pokemon fan.

What do you think about PokeMC? (50 words or more): When i first got in the server i (of course) chose my starter pokemon. I then spawned in spawned and ran around town exploring. I found a path that leads out to other cities and when walking the path, i saw trainers (npc). Thats when i knew, that I was in pokemon, but in minecraft... Later i eventually built a base and searched for legendaries and shinys. No luck to this day...

I really enjoy playing the Kanto map, but what makes it great is having a wide open world outside of kanto to explore and look for pokemon. The community is great, friendly mods on all the time, just wish they would disable hunger. So far all is good on this server and it is by far my favorite.

What do you think about PokeMC? (50 words or more):
So far it has been everything I have been looking for. It has move tutors,
a great shop, events, a high playerbase, gyms, cities, a claim plugin,
and the ability to obtain /ivs and /evs free of charge (with some
effort). Everything looks and feels finished, unlike nearly every other
up-to-date server for Pixelmon. I have only just joined, but look
forward to joining the community.
PokeMC Kanto, in short, is the reason I play Pixelmon.
Pixelmon for me lost its novelty almost instantly in single player because of the wildly random levels of the Pokémon generated. PokeMC Kanto resolves this by giving you the clear direction of a pre-constructed region where Pokémon are dispersed in a more intuitive way, allowing you to build your Pokémon up as you travel like would in a normal Pokémon game without being bullied by randomly spawned high level Pokémon.
Many servers do this, however. What makes PokeMC Kanto great in my opinion is the adaptation of the Kanto region. Mind you, this is not a one-to-one recreation of the Kanto Region, and the server is better for it. Every town, every city, every route, every building is unique and beautiful. The server’s map was intelligently designed to support heavy traffic, and I see lots of features in the layouts of the towns that I expect in an MMO: Wide streets, spacious and sprawling buildings, vast, scenic spaces of wilderness between points of interest. Despite the clear liberal direction taken in redesign of the Kanto region, I still see all of the things I remember from those early days. All the buildings I remember are where I expect them to be and I find myself gleeful to see a modern and passionately detailed recreation of these landmarks. There are even nods to the Anime, in recreating landmarks made famous there which weren’t in the original games. I don’t need to be told that the build team took years to craft this masterpiece of a playing field - you can see it in every block; the dedication and time that went into this construction. This is by far the most appealing thing for me in this server.
Pros:
The server is beautiful. Simply the act of walking into a new area fills me with awe and wonder both at the scale and the attention to detail – it really does feel like one has been shrunk down and sucked into the real world that the original Pokémon games meant to depict. The community has been receptive, helpful, and kind. There is a vast wilderness outside of the pre-constructed Kanto region for people to create their own constructions for farming, storing, or pure creation. Legendary Spawns are disabled, but the server host Legendary Hunt games periodically, and rewards donators and participants with the ability to purchase rare or legendary Pokémon or items. Given the tools available to you, including a Pokémon Auction and Wonder Trade, you can still fill out your Pokédex despite Legendries being disabled. I dare say that training Pokémon on this server is almost as easy as and almost more satisfying than training them on the main games – and there are always people to play with.
Cons:
The server is beautifully constructed, but once you get far enough into it, you begin to feel as though there are a lot of loose ends. Small things, really, that you don’t exactly need but somehow miss anyway. There are areas that are either blocked off, or otherwise signaled as being incomplete. You can tell that there were bigger plans for this server that just hasn’t yet come to fruition. My biggest complaint is simply the lack of interaction. There are NPC trainers dispersed throughout the region, but other than personal interactions with players, and the training of Pokémon, this is the extent of the server’s playability. This server does not limit your ability to progress; everything is open to you immediately. Many might find this open-ended gameplay appealing, but I feel that the non-linear progression better suits Minecraft than it does Pokémon. Yes, you can visit every area in the Kanto region, which is great. But I just wish there was more to do in each place when I arrived there.
Regardless, I highly recommend this server, and encourage anyone who plays Pixelmon to see it for themselves.
