Very sad news to hear that DevCore has come to an end.
Countless good times have been shared with a vast array of different characters, and many memories I will hold dear. As many of you may or may not know, I created DevCore along with my very skilled and enthusiastic administration, Sean (Neath) and Daniel (SgtStriker). As time went on I grew too busy and unable to tend to the server, so I "graciously" handed it over to my colleagues. They did a more than fantastic job of growing, maintaining, and flourishing the server. I am very thankful for having such excellent staff.
I presume as lives countinue and change, so do their schedules and priorities. Though, I am not shocked at the closing of DevCore, rather the sheer suddenness. The update to 1.4.6 was just a large enough break for mindsets to change and advance.
On a final note, I thank each and every one of you for playing, donating, and excercising your creativity; It was wonderful conversing and getting to know you.
I would also like to thank Sean, Daniel, and the many team members they hired in the recent days, you all have done a more than outstanding job and I look forward to the projects we may collaborate with in the future.
Through fallen kingdoms and rotted ruins, opportunity is presented for new doors to be opened, and new challenges to be embarked upon. Do not grieve from the past, only percieve failure as guidelines of actions not to take in the future. The past is unchangable, and the future is a result of what is accomplished today.
Devcore will be missed. My favourite server without a doubt. All good things must come to an end. Farewell.
Any chance of devcore coming back in the future? I still haven't played crown conquest yet.
I have talked to the staff and currently a new multiplayer server is the plan (as the forum says we'll be back) but this is not a guarantee more of something we hope to happen. But I was talking to rmb about CrownC to my knowledge the plugin was broken and by the time a server opens Crown will be old news.haha

Yessir, i may not have been there for the first survival world but if (hopefully when) a new server is opened i can say i've been there since the beginning. Not only to you Cidun, but check the forums every once and a while and once you see a thread like "DevCore Reopened!" Just come back haha I'll miss you all alot of you may have been noobs but you were MY noobs.
This sounds like a funeral... My biggest concern is us not staying in touch. I'm sure Devcore will reopen when Minecraft (and Bukkit) settles down and the staff aren't so busy. Anyways I know I ed a lot of people out sometimes because a bunch of the stuff the majority of the players did got on my nerves, but I honestly miss not having a player base since everyone immediately updated to the new version. We lost everyone in one day. I do not, and have not played on another server since I have started Minecraft. I now have no "occupation" in the gaming realm for now :/ . It's shocking that this happened so bluntly, but I saw it coming. Just knowing that the staff is either in colledge or preparing to go into colledge and becoming too busy with life threw up a red flag for me a long time ago. ANYWAYS don't be sad. Devcore will come back. It was on the brink of shutdown before, but the only reason we might as well shut down now (I'm guessing.. I'm probably totally wrong) is because the server costs a lot of money and obviously no more donations are coming in. Thank you everyone for playing. This was one of the best communities on minecraft that I happened to log in one day and get attached to. The actual devcore community (that played long after an update and when the server was survival only) will be missed. But lets keep a way to contact each other in case we come up with something big. Most of you have my Skype, and as long as I have a computer and internet, I will still have my Skype account.
I've blabbered enough.. Was nice playing with you all.
How many more days, until the server is .. gone for good. I can still see it on my servers list.

I can't wait for Devcore to be back up, by far one of my most favorite servers. It has done well . hope for Devcore to come back up but it is sad that it went down
Edit: will they keep the old Devcore map/ server, or make a new one/ restart the map? also, do you think Neath (Sean) will come back? I haven't seen him on the server for a long while, I doubt I ever saw him. D:
If the server is going to last a few more days before a wipe. I think everyone should downgrade and play a massive game of Walls or Obby defenders before it's gone.

+ I can't believe what we created from the start. I remember looking at those servers with 50+ people and I was amazed. We, created a server with 130+ people on at a time. I'm glad to see so many old players stuck around after the big arena transition, while maintaining the old map for you valued players! I want to thank all of you for playing, donating and building on DevCore, and making it one the best most successful servers out there! I won't forget this experience of administrating, as I will look back on MineCraft and remember DevCore. Thank you all again, and the staff team I worked with on this. You guys are' awesome, and I hope to play some games or host other servers. My sudden lost in Minecraft was why I quit from around 1.2 and didn't really return or help out, and I apologize for that.
Enjoy your lives! You all are fantastic people!

Will the server be updating any time soon to 1.4.6, I understand it is difficult due to the intricate plugins. Also is there a site to make an application for moderator?, thanks.
Allow me to clarify that the server is being shut down. I'm sorry.
The one thing i look forward to after a long day of school, on a lame weekend, over the summer, when theres nothing to do, the people i met, the people i hate, the people I love. Losing contact with them all most likely to never see eachother ever again all the resources gathered together, the betrayals the newly found bonds, all the elaborate machines built, all gone. Though, I can't say I didn't have fun throughout the journey of ours. Fare well all of you.
And once again, I've let myself get in too deep. I'd like to think the friendships I made here were real, despite the distance. But without a place for everyone to meet, I don't know how well contact will hold up. To all the people I hold dear, thank you for the good times. If we don't play together again, I want you to know I really do consider you a friend, despite any age, gender, or location differences we have. You guys brought me happiness, something I have trouble finding IRL. I'll get over this, but it may take some time. For any of my friends who have not added me on Skype, you can contact me at megan.dillenbeck and maybe we'll play together again someday. It will take some time to get over, but life will go on.

-Sean, Neath, signing off!
Its gone on the 31'st.
Sorry about your luck!
Unfortunately the plugin was custom-coded by rmb. So the plugins die with the server. Sorry.
