For one reason or another, you are here, wishing to head out into the unknown. The Braxian Crown has established a new colony in this alien land. You and many others, who are now to be considered your peers - some friends and some enemies, are among the first wave of colonists to explore, discover, and exploit this new land. You may seek riches, adventure, or perhaps a fresh start at life. Perhaps you are fleeing, perhaps you are courageously charging into the unknown. For yourself, for your loved ones, for the thrill, the riches, the glory, or perhaps even your King. Regardless, this is your story, and it has only just begun.
Who are we?
We are a community of roleplayers going on three years strong. Our community started back in late January of 2012 with God of Kings. The Silver Gaming community has since created multiple new servers after God of Kings - Silver Age, The Book of Halegron, Shrines of the Ancients, and The Anerian Chronicles - and we welcome you all to our latest server, The Wayward Ones.
If you don’t know what a “Roleplay server” is, it is simply a minecraft server in which you play the part of a character in our fantasy world. It’s like minecraft LARPing, but ten times more epic than that sounds.
Our server in particular is geared towards dedicated roleplayers, and a player-driven story. We want the players to be a part of major decisions going on with the server, as well as having ultimate control of where the story leads. We staff will be setting up some pretty cool events, hidden secrets and the like, but it’s up to the players to decide what to do about them. Unlike other servers, we don’t immediately assign the most powerful roles to our own staff. Rather, we let the players decide who they want to lead them. Revolts, wars and the like are a major possibility for switching leadership. Here, the players have the power, and more than they did in any of our previous servers (or other roleplaying servers throughout the minecraft community). With the setting of the server and how things are run, the players will have more liberty from staff interaction than ever, which you can read about later in this post.
Our community is one of the most tightly knit that I have ever seen. We are a caring and compassionate community, where we make sure that EVERYONE enjoys themselves on the server. We endeavor to be accepting to players of all descriptions, young and old, noobs and veterans, and work very hard to ensure that our server is a positive environment. That means that if you like griefing, being rude, making inappropriate jokes, or generally being an unfriendly person, this server is not for you.

Features
We have a code-wizard in our back pocket, named Baeshra. He's coded all sorts of Silvergaming-exclusives for us to use to help improve enjoyment and immersion. The information listed below ought to help give you a glimpse of what we have to offer!
Custom Chat System
We have two main channels, Local and Out of Character. You can switch between these two channels with "/ch o" and "/ch l". Out of Character chat is distinguished by grey type and is visible anywhere in the world and is used, as the name would imply, is used for purely OOC matters. Local chat has a set range measured in blocks within which you can clearly be heard in, and is reserved for in-character conversations. You can set your "volume" (Base distance your voice travels) with the command "/t #" replacing # with a distance from 1.5 to 30, or by using "s" for "Shout", "w" for "whisper" and "l" for "local". Our code-wizard Baeshra has coded us a custom chat system for "muffling" - when you are outside of someone's chat range while they're talking, you may still be able to catch snippets of what they're saying, while other bits of their sentences will be replaced with dashes. Move closer to hear more clearly, and make sure you're talking loud enough for the people you're talking to to hear you.
Production Point System
To add some realism and prevent players from building castles within a single in-game day, we have added a "Production Point System", or "PP" for short. You get 1 PP every 15 minutes, whether you are on or off the server, up to a max of 64 PP in reserve at any point in time. Different actions take different amounts of PP (Crafting items, placing/breaking blocks, breeding animals, and so forth). These costs are multiplied by 1/2 if you have a half-class relevant to the activity (See "Classes" below) and multiplied by 1/4 if you are a Specialist in that class.
Unique Items
We have a custom item system, where items are crafted in dispensers instead of crafting tables, allowing for all sorts of fun new toys! Depending on your class and your background, you'll start off knowing different recipes, and be able to learn more through play and experimentation. Just to give you a taste, we have items such as: daggers, shortswords, longswords, axes, leather armor, hard leather armor, studded leather armor, chainmail, full plate, and WAY MORE, in a variety of materials, such as iron, steel, argent and crystalline. Talk to Tsev92 if your character is a Craftsman and you'd like to work out what recipes to start with! New items being added every week!
Realistic Agriculture
Plants do not grow overnight. As a Farmer, you can expect to tend to your fields on a regular basis, and to harvest every real-life week or so to help support the community. Properly fertilizing your crops and feeding your livestock can help significantly speed up this process.
Revamped Hunger
You no longer lose hunger so quickly, but in turn there are greater penalties for being on the verge of starvation. When you are at low hunger (4/10 chops or below) you begin to Slowness and Weakness potion effects which increase to level II at 2/10 and level III at .5/10. In addition, all actions that require PP cost more based on how much hunger you are below 4/10, so make sure to stay well fed!
Custom Monsters
Zombie, skeleton, spider, creeper, enderman. It gets old, after a while, doesn't it? That's why we've devised over a hundred new monsters to be encountered! You'll encounter new and never-before-seen challenges. Make sure to be well-equipped and to bring friends!
Lore
Intro Lore
The year is 1314 in our home, the Motherland. The Age of Division has finally ended and with it comes the rise of several new powers through the dissolving of the once dominant Empiracle. One of these powers is the southern kingdom of Braxia. The Braxian Crown, the dominant colonial power in the Motherland and the eastern lands, is determined to establish a colony in the thriving terrain rumored to be to the west, over the Mighty Mounts and endless Great Waste. The famous Braxian explorer, Robert Ewarding, has just come forward with evidence that there is indeed a thriving paradise beyond the rough seas of the southern coast. The Braxian Overlord has extended his staff to Ewarding, officially giving his support for a small expedition through the rough seas of the Rocky Cape.
Overlord Rauric III of Braxia has called for all those wishing to take part in colonizing this new land to sign up and stake their claims, seek adventure, and start a new life. The far southwestern town of Roland's Field has been chosen as the rally point for all settlers. The main ships will leave within a month. Now all the settlers can do is prepare. The call has been made; new Lands, new Opportunities, a tip in Braxia’s favor - if in the colonist’s...

Recent History Lore
In the past 100 years, the face of the Motherland, the world in which we dwell, has changed drastically. An Empire has fallen and now many new-born powers contest for ultimate control of the Motherland and even for the land's that are rumored to be beyond the "Great Waste" to the west, past the Mighty Mounts.
The Empiracle, otherwise known as Llandican Empire, has continued its decline, choosing to cede or unable to hold much of it's former holdings. With the loss of its Empiracle heart city to the invading Grand Guyrese Army during the "Great Dividing War", the Llandican Empire is attempting to hold together what is left with strict government rule. Losing much of its holdings, including the Gart’nun Isles to the Guyrese and Braxians, much of the Splinter Isles to the Independent City-State of Vaerdezzio and the newly-born Alliance of the Isles, and many economically vital ports, the Empire is struggling to reestablish its economic independence with a failing currency and few industrial centres. Many Llandican citizens are departing the lands of their fathers for more prosperous ground amid the growing powers.
The Mountain Men of the north have risen up, forming their own Confederacy of Mountain Clans through the chaos. This Nordic nation of the north is always on the look for more land to conquer but is also struggling to establish it's government on stable, less barbaric, principles. While all powers recognize it, say but for the Llandican Empire, very few have any influence within it's borders. Originating from Mountain Clans, the Confederacy is not to be dealt with lightly as the heartiness of their meets and the loyalty of their citizens has well been proven even among their sometimes barbaric practices.
Constantly at war with the Llandican Empire, the nation of Guyre has established a militaristic aristocracy to defend its borders and maintain its independence. The rebellion within the Llandican Empire was all the fuel the Guyrese needed to begin it's invasion. With such grace and speed, the Guyrese army quickly and efficiently launched its invasion of the Llandican Empire, sparking what many today recognize as the "Great Dividing War". This speed and timing allowed the Grand Guyrese Army time to lay siege to and capture the Capital of the Llandican Empire with little confrontation with the main Llandican Army massed along the borders and battling the rebelling Confederate Clans. As one last bout of vengeance, the Guyrese government has chosen to move the Capitol to the former capital of the Llandican Empire. Militaristic in nature, all Guyrese citizens are required to serve in the army for a minimum of five years and Guyre continues to be the dominant military power on land.
Knowing the Llandican Empire's oncoming collapse, it's most prosperous city, Vaerdezzio, and the once fearful Merchant Lords that rule it, have established the city as an independent city-state, seceding itself from the Empire. The Empire's armies, unable to quell the rise of the Merchant Lord's rebellion, hear from the fronts as the last hope for Llandican power has separated itself from Llandican control. Many of the nearby Splinter Isles have sided with Vaerdezzio out of fear of the newly formed Alliance of the Isles and the still powerful Empiracle Navy. Now the most influential merchant port in the whole of the Motherland, Vaerdezzio has much influence over the economic stability of it's neighbors and ensures that it's neighbors know this full well.
The Kingdom of Ombria has recently fallen to religious zealots in a great half-century long civil war and a new Theocratic government has risen, proclaiming itself the Kingdom and Eternal Dominion of Kastelm. Under the new government, a council made up of twenty-one priests has been formed to "serve the Divine Kastelm’s will". With this drastic change of government and civil war, Ombria has lost many if not all of its overseas assets. Zealous in passion and undoubtedly fervent in faith, the citizens of the Eternal Dominion are a strong force both politically and influentially. A Cleric's Proverb sums up the influence of the Ombrians quite well with, "all men know an Ombrian man, but few have ever met him".
Braxia, it's origins unknown, has risen from it's humble nomadic settlements to be a main leader on the world stage. It's booming economy and expansive overseas territories fund its large military force, making it a military power that even the militaristic Guyrese would not wish to reckon with on their own. When the Great Dividing War began Braxia mobilized it’s navy to claim the closest prize: The Gart’nun Islands to the east. In return for their aid, the Braxian Government offered the Gart’nun natives independence with protection by the Braxian military, a deal which the islanders readily accepted. A war nearly began between the Braxian/Gart’nun Rebel force and the Grand Guyrese Army when the two forces met along the main Gart’nun island. A war was quickly avoided but an air of rivalry and uneasiness has always lingered between the two power’s. As promised, the Braxian military aided the establishment of the Government of the Territory of Free Gart’nun. On account of this act of moral honesty, Braxia is now regarded with much respect and praise from the other Motherland powers, with the exception of Guyre.
Braxia is beginning to run out of frontiers and new lands, and, with the help of new technology, is setting its eyes to the west, over the harsh mountains and past the expansive desert to see just what is out there and how they can exploit it.
Religion Lore:
Kastelmism is based on the belief that one god named Kastelm, who is all powerful, desires for his disciples to follow his chosen path of love and charity. It was originally founded by the Prophet Arthur in the year 347, after Arthur claimed he’d been spoken to by Kastelm for a straight week. Over the years, the religious practices have become a bit more complicated with more sacred rituals than were originally in the church at the time of Arthur. This has caused a few offshoot branches of Kastelmism that strive to return to their roots and interpret the teachings in their own way. Their sacred book is known as The Words of Kastelm, based on the week-long conversation between Kastelm and Arthur, where Kastelm tells Arthur that he desires for all to be kind and charitable. And he expects his disciples to lead the people on this path, by word or by sword in some cases, depending on the particular branch of Kastelmism and how Kastelm’s Words were interpreted.
There are also various Eastern religions, however, all are considered by the Western world to be infidelical and are not practiced publicly.
Server Rules
General Rules:
1. Be respectful of the server, other players, and the staff
2. Do not make offensive/racist remarks
3. Do not use profanities of any sort on the server or on our forums. In character, “Frak” may be used as a basic expletive.
4. While on the server, stay in character as much as possible
5. Do not advertise other servers
6. Do not troll/grief/spam etc.
7. Do not “Powergame”. This is where you force RP onto someone else, without giving them an opportunity to respond. An example would be “Chops off head” instead of “Swings axe at head”.
8. Do not landscar. This means don’t go making the map look less awesome. An example of what NOT to do would be digging random 1x2 tunnels in walls. Seriously man, not cool.
9. Do not “Metagame”. This means you should not use out-of-character (OOC) knowledge when playing as your character. An example would be having your guard character giving brewing advice to the local Herbalist. Even if OOC you know what ingredients make what potion, that doesn’t mean your character does.
10. Roleplay your character’s actions reasonably. No crazy running up walls, shooting fireballs, cloning yourself, turning into a werewolf or the like. You need Lore explanations for things like this. Currently the only supernatural/superhuman elements in the Lore are Mages and Drakes, which are carefully regulated. Don’t go pestering Admins or Loremasters about allowing your super-character. You may, however, reasonably suggest additional lore elements in the Suggestion Box.
11. When in the local chat channel, speak primarily in character. Any OOC things you must say should have double parentheses ((A)) put around them. There is also the OOC channel and private messaging to handle out of character conversations.
12. Not a rule, but HIGHLY SUGGESTED. Use proper spelling and grammar; in this thread, in your app, and on our site. This alone does a lot to shape how people perceive you. Roleplay is about communication, and you need to be able to do so effectively.
13. Do not use hacks, flymods, X-rays or the like.
14. Do not post anything of a sexual nature, or links to inappropriate sites. As a general rule of thumb, keep things PG-13 or below.
15. Do not use programs to scan our ports, or similar programs used in hacking. If you are found to be utilizing these programs, it can result in an immediate permaban.
Combat, Death and Injury Rules:
1. Do not randomly go around attacking people. This applies to both hitting them with actual swords, and RPing a fight. Only fight another character if you have an RP reason to do so.
2. All character vs. character (CvC) combat should begin with RP. During RP combat, you may describe your character’s actions and reactions, but not those of your opponent.
3. “The Law of CvC”: Be reasonable. Could you REALLY dodge 20 arrows in a row? Can you REALLY punch through iron armor?
4. Use private messages to communicate with whoever you’re fighting with to resolve any questions.
5. The use of actual, in-game weapons (PvP) may be used only if both players agree to it beforehand.
6. A character may only die if Their player assents, similar to them only being able to be injured if The Player assents. By this I mean that The defending player always gets to decide how Their character reacts to an attack, even a would-be fatal one, so they need to decide for Their character to die. But remember rule 3, here. BE REASONABLE. Don’t go saying your character came back from The dead, made a miraculous escape, dodged a thousand sword strokes or The like, just because you don’t want to lose your character. Man up and die. People will seriously respect you for it.
7. When you die due to a mob, falling, lava, etc., that isn’t an “RP-Death”. Your character didn’t REALLY die, unless you for some reason want to say they did (Want to change character?). Generally RP-Deaths only happen as a result of CvC.
8. Injuries. If you get injured in a CvC fight, or get injured by natural means and feel like it, RP IT! Play like you got injured, like you have a broken arm, like you’ve lost a lot of blood, etc. This isn’t really a rule, per se, so much as a guideline. As always, be reasonable. If you just CvC’d someone and barely won, you’ll be worn out (Injured) for your next fight.
Ban Appeals and Complaints:
1. If you have been banned and feel it was unfair, make a post in the Ban Appeal section of our forums, and we’ll look into it.
2. Similarly, there are sections of our forums designated for suggestions and abuse reports. If you feel there is something wrong with the server, let us know.
3. If nothing else, feel free to send an Admin a PM on our forums. We’re all friendly and reasonable people, and will do our best to help resolve any problems.

Classes
Our custom class plugin, dubbed by the staff as the ‘Half-Class System’, allows for players to pick two classes from the list below. It would be recommended that they choose one combat and one economy class, but this is not a rule. The same class could be chosen twice, making that player a “Specialist” in that class, granting buffs and greater effectiveness than if the player only had half of that class. While this can grant you greater abilities, it reduces your overall versatility, making this something you really ought to think about.
All characters can break/place signs, torches, ladders, dirt, gravel, clay, sand and grass. All characters can use all shovels, wear leather armor, and use up to stone swords. All characters can craft nuggets into gold ingots and blocks, and vice-versa. All characters can craft signs, torches and bonemeal.
Everyone can make and break anything, however players with the appropriate classes do so more efficiently. This all stands on our “point” system. Each player gets 64 points a day to break and place blocks, and craft items with the associated point costs. Each recipe will consume 8 points. If you have the class skilled in making that recipe, you will use up 4 points. If you double-up on classes skilled in that recipe, it will cost 2 points. Each recipe will have multiple steps. The same goes for blocks broken and placed.
Players may start only with Combat and Economy classes. They may trade out classes during play and learn Scholar classes in-game.
-Combat-
Swordsman: Use any sword, use ringmail, iron and diamond armor. Specialist: Gain a permanent Strength I and Resistance II
Archer: Use all bows and up to ringmail armor. Specialist: Arrows shot have a straighter arc and deal extra damage. An arrow is only consumed every other shot.
Berserker: Use up to ringmail armor, use any axe as a weapon (Still can't break wood), permanent Regen II, Speed I. Specialist: Increases to Regen III and Speed II.
Rogue: Use up to iron swords. "/h" command to Hide, granting invisibility to mobs for two minutes, has a one-minute cooldown. Can "Backstab" - attack a player or entity facing away from you for triple damage. Specialist: Hide duration changes to three minutes, cooldown to 30 seconds, backstab to x4 damage.
-Economy-
Miner: Can break/place all stone-type blocks and use up to an iron pick. Can craft stone-type blocks. Specialist: When you break smoothstone, there is a small chance that you get an iron ore or piece of coal, can use diamond pick.
Woodsman: Can break/place all wood-type blocks, can craft wood-type blocks, can use up to iron axe, can craft sticks, can use bonemeal on trees. Specialist: Can use up to diamond axe. When you craft a log into planks, you get two extra planks.
Craftsman: Can craft all items except for alchemy items and diamond items. Can use up one of an appropriate material to return a corresponding amount to an item's durability. Specialist: Can craft diamond items, repairing adds more durability.
Farmer: Can use up to iron hoe, can place/break/plant/fertilize any plant. Specialist: Planted crops grow twice as fast, can use diamond hoe (SO FANCY)
-Scholar-
Alchemist: Can craft alchemy items. Specialist: Do top-level alchemy stuff.
More scholar classes will be discovered as the server goes on.
Application
The Whitelisting Process: After you submit the application form below, one of our valiant whitelisters (Listed above) will review your application. It will be either A) Accepted, Deferred, or C) Rejected/Declined. If you’re accepted, you will be added to the whitelist and a staff member will help set your name when you log in. If you’re deferred (Being deferred on your first try is very normal) the Whitelister will tell you what you need to improve, and you will be allowed to reapply. Revised applications should be put in a new post so that our Whitelisters do not skip over them. If you are deferred, the same Whitelister is responsible for all resubmissions, so please don’t freak out if the next whitelister to review apps doesn’t review yours. If your application is Rejected, then you are not allowed to reapply. This is reserved for individuals who have had their application repeatedly deferred without progress, or for applications that we do not believe are salvageable. If accepted, you will be added to the whitelist within 24 hours.
Characters should:
Not be too powerful
Not start in a position of power (Unless given express permission)
Not use obvious cliches
Not originate in/on settlements besides those listed in the Location Lore. You could start in the wilds, I suppose, but please do not make up new towns.
Not use names from popular movies/books/TV shows
Not be villainous/evil, unless you get a Villain Application accepted. It is recommended that villainous characters begin non-villainous, and change during play, though this is not a requirement.
Be generally realistic
Below are three tests that you can consider taking to help you get a better feel for your character. Completion of these tests are not required. Just tools at your disposal. Myers-Briggs-Typology-Indicator

Character Linking
We at Silver Gaming pride ourselves on making every new player feel accepted and the giving them the impression that they fit in. If you hop on over to our forums, you’ll find a subforum labeled “Character Linking.” The purpose of this is to post a thread asking for people to be related to or know your character before you apply so you’ll have at least some concrete background in the world, as well as someone to help you start out.

Character Information
Name: Sarai Hollis
Age: 15 (born in 1299 A.D.)
Class: Farmer
Physical description: Sarai is an average-sized individual with long, straight brown hair that slightly covers her eyes. Due to her having Waardenburg Syndrome, she has a white patch of hair on the left side of her head. She has large, bright green eyes that often tell what she truly thinks, despite her best efforts to hide her feelings. Her lips and nose look a bit small for her face. She is 5' 1'' (155 cm) tall and about 160 lbs (72 kg).
Biography (Minimum 300 words. No clichés such as loved one being killed by robbers or the like.): Sarai was born in Braxia in 1299, seven years before the end of the Braxian/Empiracle War finally ended. She grew up on a farm, with her parents doing their best to keep her from having to experience the terrors of the war. For the most part, she grew up oblivious to the fact that there was discord not all that far from their little home.
The only person that gave any hint to what was happening was a lovely man that was once some sort of teacher. He never actually said where he taught at, or why he no longer did so, but he said he would teach Sarai to read and write if they would allow him to stay there and give him food. Though most of the food at the time was going towards war efforts, they agreed that Sarai should have a better education than they did. The teacher, whose name was Adam Steele, began teaching Sarai around the age of five how to read words that he would write in the dirt, and as she got older, books that he actually brought with him from his unclear past. Sarai took to writing fairly quickly, more because she liked drawing in the dirt than anything in her younger years.
All she heard about from the war came from when Adam and her parents would go into town to sell the wheat (their main crop, though they also grew potatoes and a few other things) they harvested. They would come back chattering about the current state of the Empiracle, though Sarai had no idea what that was, and so far still doesn't. She never went with them into the town to sell their crops. But when her parents heard that a group would be sent out to settle new lands, they saw it was an opportunity for Sarai.
So Sarai applied to go out to help colonize the new lands. Most of her life was dull and boring, tending the cows and wheat, reading the same books over and over again, and having no friends because she was kept on the farm. This was the most exciting, and frightening, time of her life. Her parents decided not to go with her in case she finds out about what they have hidden from her, and Adam has decided to wait until the colony was fully settled.
What is your character’s main goal? (Motivation): To finally see the world and be helpful to someone other than her parents. (And to stop being bored all the time.)
Strengths (Both physical and personality): She is actually rather strong, though she may not seem like it, mostly from loading wheat onto her parent's cart. She is a caring individual and extremely inquisitive, though her constant desire for knowledge can make her a bit annoying at times.
Weaknesses (Balance out yours character's strengths with suitable weaknesses. Not knowing how to do something that is outside of your class is not a weakness. I.E. Not knowing how to use a bow as a miner.):
She has Waardenburg Syndrome, which causes moderate hearing loss in her left ear, where the white patch of hair is. She can still hear out of that ear, but if a monster came up to her from that side, it may be a little late for her to run. Due to knowing only her parents and Adam (and a choice few of her parent's friends on rare occasions), she isn't always that great at starting conversations with strangers and is fairly awkward in social situations.

Due a recent accident, you wander the dark quiet streets of the town with a broken ankle trying to make your way home:
“Ugh,” Sarai groans, trying her best to keep her weight off her ankle. She had stepped into a small hole in the road and tripped, managing to twist her ankle in the process. Each step felt like a knife jamming itself deep into the muscles in and around her ankle. At first she had desperately looked around for a wooden plank or a sturdy stick, but had found none. “I'm almost home,” she whispered, seeing the tiny cottage on the horizon. “Just keep on going.” On some stroke of luck, she made it home without getting mugged, but it would be a while before she could farm again. ((I honestly hope to someday roleplay someone getting mugged on a dark street now.))
In a tavern, a stranger threatens you to fight him/her: “O-oh, no, no,” Sarai stammers, putting her hands up in front of her, palms toward the stranger. “I couldn't do that, I'm not a fighter, I don't like violence.” She steps backward to try to put some distance between her and this angry individual, but finds there is a table there. The table turns over and takes her with it. Her face turns red, she can just imagine how angry the tavern owner is going to be about this, and starting murmuring apologies as she shuts her eyes tight.
Your superior asks for a favour you would have problem doing:
Sarai bites her lip. This man is her superior, her parents had told her to always do as they say. But he was asking her to frame her friend, to make them out to be a traitor! A war raged inside her mind as he waited for her answer. Fear bit justice, courage slammed into anxiety. “No,” she said quietly, then louder, “No, I can't do that. I know you're my superior, but what you're asking is wrong, and I won't frame someone who is innocent.”
Lore Questions
List three causes for the fall of the Empiracle:
1) It lost its heart city to the Guyrese during the Great Dividing War. 2) The Alliance of Isles. 3) It no longer has many of its economically vital ports.
Conclusion: Between its lands being taken, this new alliance, and losing those ports... things aren't looking good for the Empiracle.
Who is proposing an expedition to the western lands?:
The Braxian Kingdom.
Where is the expedition to be launched from?:
If I'm reading correctly, the rally point is at Roland's Field, though they'll be leaving from Rocky Cape.
Questions or comments?: Mostly just hoping my lack of roleplaying over the past year or so hasn't made me too rusty. XD

Character Information Name:
Tristan Whitefield
Age:
20
Class:
Swordsman/craftsman
Physical description:
Tristan is a somewhat scrawny, thin average height young man. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He has a very serious demeanor usually. His facial features are very smooth and he is clean shaven. He keeps his face well groomed.Screen capture of your skin: Biography (Minimum 300 words. No clichés such as loved one being killed by robbers or the like.):
“*Scrawled in a Journal*
My Name is Tristan Whitefield. I am the son of Robert and Sarah Whitefield. I am writing this for the scholars who may come later in the future who desire to know the lives of us living now. I know how valuable such accounts can be. I grew up in a very wealthy family. We lived in the Capitol of Braxia. My father is still living there. My father and my mother both worked for the Braxian Academic Enclave, a private community of Scholars and Scientists, dedicated to bringing the light of knowledge upon the face of the planet.
They both started me along this path when I was very young. I had a natural aptitude for learning, and I quickly managed to take up much of what they taught me. Whether it was mathematics or history. My father also taught me some fencing, as he saw that it was a gentlemen’s sport. My parents cared for me as well as act as some of my private instructors. It all changed though during the winter after my seventh birthday. My mother Sarah left, and to this day I am unsure why.
I can say that there was a noticeable change in my father. He became much more reclusive and strict. He seemed to stop loving me as his son, and saw me more as another tool to be used. He started to have less time for me as well, so he hired a select group of tutors and mentors to teach me my academics and swordplay. I was unable to leave the house too, for fear that the other children my age would interfere with my studies. When we did have some time together, he would test me on all that I had learned, and when I got something wrong, he would beat me.
After a year of this, I asked him, “Father, do you love me anymore? And why can’t I play with the other children outside?” He responded in a most calm manner to this inquiry, as if he had had a lot of time to think about the answer. “Love is useless boy. It just gets in the way of work. You don’t need it. And you shouldn’t need to socialize with those simpletons. True value is in intelligence. Only people with that deserve your respect or time. I’ll teach that to you soon enough, then you can truly reach your potential.” And that he did. I soon saw how pointless love and friendship were. They were just distractions, meant to draw ones attention from what is truly important. And I saw how foolish much of the world really was.
A few years passed, and I left my luxurious home to go to a town that is known as Roland’s Field. There is a group of settlers there, and they are heading to a new land to colonize. I feel that this is what I was meant for. I am going to this new land for the Braxian Academic Enclave to record what happens, and what we find so that we may pass it on to future generations.”
What is your character’s main goal? (Motivation):
He wishes to keep an account of everything and make his way into history.
Strengths (Both physical and personality):
Tristan is an academic genius. He is proficient in many fields such as history, archaeology and anthropology, mathematics, language arts and some sciences. He is also a very proficient fencer.
Weaknesses (Balance out yours character's strengths with suitable weaknesses. Not knowing how to do something that is outside of your class is not a weakness. I.E. Not knowing how to use a bow as a miner.):
Tristan has absolutely no social skills. He does not know how to make friends, and he feels that friendship and love are next to useless. Only slightly above mosquitoes. He is tactlessly blunt and can come across as quite rude. He is also very used to living in a comfortable home. He is also very afraid of being wrong, as a result of his father beating him as a child. He also seems rather aloof at times, especially if he feels if you are less-intelligent than he is. And though he is a proficient fencer, he has no real combat experience

Due a recent accident, you wander the dark quiet streets of the town with a broken ankle trying to make your way home:
Tristan bit back a curse behind his teeth as he hobbled along the dark road. “Who leaves their stairs in such disrepair? I’ll have to have a few words with that librarian,” he muttered to himself while limping down the road. “I’ll probably have to get a doctor to look at my ankle. I can’t walk very well in these conditions.”
“Then I suppose that means you can’t run away very well either,” a voice called from a nearby alleyway. Tristan looked at the direction of the voice as a man stepped forward wielding a large rusty dagger. The man’s face was dirty and unkempt, and he looked like he was ready for a fight. “I want all your coin and jewelry, and you won’t be hurt. Understand pal?”
Tristan eyed the man for a moment and sighed loudly. “I do not have time for this. If you want coin, get it the way everyone else does.” He started to hobble away when he heard footsteps coming towards him. He reached down into his bag for a large tome he was borrowing from the Library.
The man put his hand on Tristan’s shoulder. “That was the wrong answer friend. Now you are going to have to pay wit-.” The man was quickly cut off by a book landing in his face. He staggered back and regained his wits in time to hear his intended victim shouting for the guards. He looked at the man and pointed an angry finger. “You haven’t seen the end of me pal. Next time you walk down here you are a dead man!” He turned and fled.
Tristan looked down at his book. “Great. Now I have to pay for that too.” He used the end of his sleeve to try to wipe off a few drops of blood on the cover. As he did so he almost completely forgot about his leg and tripped and landed on his face after his first step. Right as the guards arrived.
In a tavern, a stranger threatens you to fight him/her:
Tristan sat in the back corner of a tavern, away from all of the usual commotion and patrons, with a cup of water and a piece of warm bread, his face buried in a book. He didn’t notice the man approach, and if he had, he wouldn’t have paid him any attention. He did take notice of the man once the book was wrenched from his grasp and flung across the room.
“Hey buddy,” the man, who was obviously drunk slurred. “I, I-I’m going to fight, y-you.” He drunkenly pointed towards the bar, while trying to put his arm around Tristan’s shoulder in a friendly manner. “See my friend *hic* Tom over there? He, he says I, I can’t *hic* beat a l-little guy like y-*hic* you in a fight. I-I’m not one fo-for losing *hic*.”
Tristan slapped the man’s hand away before his arm went around his shoulder. “I don’t have time for fighting. I was doing some research, which, by the way, you interrupted. So, now if you will excuse me. . .” Tristan stood up and tried to shove his way past the man so that he may recover his reading material. He was not expecting a fist to be in his path, and the next thing he knew, he was on his back, his nose bleeding, the world spinning, and a voice saying: “See *hic* Tom? I-I told you I could *hic* take him.”
Your superior asks for a favour you would have problem doing:
Tristan walked into his superior’s office very slowly. A messenger had told Tristan that he was needed for something special. He sat down in front of his superior quietly and waited to be spoken too. His boss turned around and smiled a crooked smile before speaking.
“Tristan, you saw what happened in the market yesterday right? That nasty business with Harry?” He chuckled a bit when Tristan nodded his head in slight confusion. “And then you also know my involvement right?” Tristan once again nodded his head. “And you wrote everything in that little journal of yours right?” Tristan nodded a third time, starting to see where this was going. “Well I need you to give me that journal or burn it. It has some incriminating evidence that can damage my reputation if that information is ever released to the public. I can’t have that happen.” He stood and waited for Tristan’s response.
“I can’t do that sir. This journal is meant to be an account for future generations. I will not permit such a crime as you are suggesting. And besides,” Tristan stood up. “If you were foolish enough to be involved in such affairs in the first place, it is only deserving of one so lowly to face the proper punishment.” He turned and left the room, despite the protests of his Superior.

Second. Also, sorry if it's a tad hard to read, it wouldn't let me tab in the MC forum reply box and stuff.
Your Lore and OOC sections were almost perfect; the only problem I had was that you weren't very specific with one of the lore questions. But I'm sure you understand, though you should take another look. I thought you could've added a little more depth in your backstory, but I'm assuming it was on purpose to make Sarai an average farmer. Your ICR's weren't the most detailed either, but it fully expressed your character's personality and what she'd do in those situations. So, I think the first application review was a success! Welcome to The Wayward Ones by Silver Gaming! Catch up on the latest news on http://silvergaming.enjin.com ! Hope to see you at the launch!
Tankinator:
All your lore questions were wrong! Rejected! ... Nah, the lore and OOC sections were perfect. Your biography and ICRs also checked in well. Look forward to RPing with you again! Hopefully we won't have so much conflict this time around.

Character Information
Name: Serra Oakley
Age: 16
Class: Rogue/Craftsmen
Physical description: Serra is short for her age, standing around 5 and half feet tall. She has curly auburn hair that she keeps separated and braided. She has a tan complexion with a splash of freckles over her body. She wears a light green dress that's embroidered across the bottom of the skirt. She wears a yellow corset over the top, and the sleeves are loose around her arms.
Biography (Minimum 300 words. No clichés such as loved one being killed by robbers or the like.): Serra Oakley was born to Hershel and Emma Oakley, a quaint couple who married very young but have been together ever since. While Hershel did his mandatory time in the army, Emma cheated on and conceived Serra with another man. Hershel and Serra don't know about this knowledge till this day. Serra and her family lived in Cape Town. When the parties came that was moving west, Hershel decided to take his family west and support the country with his blacksmith skills. As the years went on, Serra grew up to be a sickly child, much unlike her older brother, who grew up very healthy and strong.
Because of Hershel's Blacksmith skills, and lack of a shop, her father decided to have Serra and her brother trained in the ways of crafting. The two work together with their father to produce items to sell.
At a very young age, Serra discovered her intense love for sweets, and all things candied. Her parents however knew how bad eating sweets all the time would be, and stopped giving her money right away. Serra learned how to trick people into thinking she was an orphan that tagged along with the group of settlers. She would dust herself down with dirt and wait near the campfires, begging for gold, and various other things that she could sell. The next morning, she would go down to the old woman's tent and pick up her sweets. It was a very smart idea for someone her age.
But as she grew up, Serra began to notice that it wasn't only sweets that she wanted. She started noticing better things than sweets, like blades and various different armors. It wasn't until one faithful night that Serra discovered the true extent of her greed. She had noticed a very fat, and rich man fall down in the street. It was dark, and not a soul was around, nay for her. Approaching slowly, She helped the man up while stealthily slipping his coin purse into her pocket. The man had thanked her and wobbled along. Serra didn't feel an ounce of guilt. Serra used the coins to begin training under a Rogue, learning the different ways she could slip some coins into her own hand.
What is your character’s main goal? (Motivation): Serra is very greedy, and wants to become filthy rich by any means necessary. (But not working ;3)
Strengths (Both physical and personality): Serra is sly, very sneaky, and knows how to play someone. She also knows how to hide very well, and is very charismatic.
Weaknesses: Serra is physically weak, and never seems to get enough sleep. She was a very sick child, constantly getting colds and flus.
In-Character-Responses (ICRs. For each scenario, write at least a paragraph describing entirely in-character how your character would respond to the situation. Your ICRs will be used to see how well you can RP. Please post them as if in IC chat. An example can be found after this form.)
Due a recent accident, you wander the dark quiet streets of the town with a broken ankle trying to make your way home:
Serra bit her lip and groaned. Looking down at her dark purple and swollen ankle she silently cursed herself for her latest endeavor. She had to try to steal a purse of a very agile man, and had ended up slipping off a roof. She laughed to herself as she realized how crazy that sounded. She limped along the side of a building, using it to support her weight. She kept an eye out for the man, or a guard.
In a tavern, a stranger threatens you to fight him/her:
Walking up behind a random stranger, Serra stealthily slit the strap holding the man's coin purse. As she turned away, the man grabbed for his money. He spotted her slinking away and grabbed her arm. "Did ye steal me coin purse? Aye, lass?" He asked, his accent nearly cloaking his words. Serra shook her head furiously and put on her prettiest eyes. "No, sir. Why would I do such a thing?" Batting her eyelashes, she pulled her arm out of his grip. Leaning close she whispered, "Between you and me, I think that guy over there did it." She pointed to someone completely random before slipping out of the tavern.
Your superior asks for a favor you would have problem doing:
Serra snored softly as she was shook awake by her brother. "Get up, it's time for your shift down in the shop." Serra groaned and coughed. "I can't, I feel terribly sick. Is there any way you could cover for me, dear brother?" Her brother gave her a look before promptly pulling her out of bed. "Alright, fine fine!" Serra muttered, angrily. Getting dressed into her uniform, she headed downstairs and convinced people to buy her father's wares.

Name: Laek Du’Fabre
Age: 34
Class: Berserker/Woodsman
Physical description:
5’9” Black hair, dark hazel eyes. Muscular build with a beard that gets all the ladies squealin’.
Screen capture of your skin:
Biography (Minimum 300 words. No clichés such as loved one being killed by robbers or the like.):
Everyone always talks about that moment… you know the one you have right before you die, where your life flashes before your eyes?
Guess that means this is my lucky day… or unlucky, depending entirely upon your mentality.
Anyways there I was an infant. Am I really even remembering this or is my mind trying to grant me some sort of peaceful death? There is my father, fainted and out cold on the floor, just like the story had always been told. The town physician wrapped me in a blanket and passed me to my mother. Great big tears filled her eyes; I knew how hard she had been trying to conceive me.
“Welcome to the world, baby boy. What a wonderful life you will have, my precious Laek.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now I am seven. A notion which nearly has me convinced that this is no flashback, and I am in fact in Hell. From my seat inside the window, I watch with envy as the other children run around and play on a bright spring afternoon.
From behind his desk, my father lowers his gaze upon me, eyes piercing from just above the rim of his thick bifocals
“Son, best get back to your studies.” He said as he set a piece of parchment down. I however responded with a groan as I slouched back into my chair, “None of the other parents make their kids study.”
Father remained calm even still as he signed away on another paper… he had a knack for staying calm. “Yes well you know we are too far out to get any formal education. You are lucky we can afford the tutoring we are able to give you. Resources are scares all around, with this bloody war.”
The year is now 1294. And on this particular rainy twilight, I am but a month past the age of 14. Gone are the smiles. Gone is the happiness that was once our quaint little town. My parents stood in front of me, and I stared at them. By now I stood nearly as tall as mother, though father still dwarfed me. She took one step forward, and pulling me in she hugged me close. I didn’ t know what to say… I should be the one comforting her, but instead she is trying to comfort me.
“Promise me something, Laek.” She muttered into my ear, it barely audible through the rain and the sobs, “Promise me you will be someone, someday.”
It would be years before those words had true meaning to me, but in that moment I would have promised the world. I remained in her embrace for a moment longer before she let go, giving me one kiss on the forehead.
My father walked up to me next. There in the cold dark of the morning we looked into each other’s eyes, a look that haunts me in the best way possible. He knows me so well, and it was as if everything he had to give me, all the legacies a father could leave his son, they were all pouring into me with that look.
Finally after what seemed like forever he reached up and placed a hand on my shoulder, turning me around. He stepped close, hand gripping me tight, and pointed. There from beyond the trees were the first rays of sunlight basking over our humble home. I couldn’t see his face, but I was sure he was smiling as he said, “There will always be another sunrise, son my son.”
The next bit went by in a blur. Place to place he traveled with various refugees from his home. The war between Braxia and the Empirical had robbed him of all he had ever known, and his parents along with several other of the adults had stayed behind to assist the war efforts.
And so there he was, just another part of a sea of faces. I knew I had an aunt somewhere along the southern coast, but I never really bothered to find out where. It was just a few years after I lost my home that I left the company of those I had grown up around. Off I went, taking odd jobs here and there, making due where I could.
All the time I spent in a local militia flashed by me. I had joined in hopes that I could find out something about my parents, about what happened that night. I fought and I bled but got no answers, and eventually I deserted that cause.
By the time the war drew to a close I had settled into working at a mill. In fact, I think I am there right now. On the floor… dying from a head wound somehow. And from behind my eyelids there is my mother’s sad sad face, her promise echoing repeatedly. She places her hand on my cheek and smiles. Then she slaps me. And she slaps me again. Aaaand she waylays my face for a third time as I gasp for breath, rushing back to reality. The crowd around me breathes a sigh of relief and boss steps back with a grin, “See? Nuthin’ a good ol’ slap can’t fix!”
I sigh and stare down at my hands, and a dark part of me half wishes it had really all been over. Her words are always haunting me… maybe because I don’t even know who I am. My mind wanders to the chatter I heard in the tavern a fortnight ago…. About that call for people to colonize a new land. What was the name of that place? Roland’s Basin? No… that town got wrecked…. Field! Roland’s Field!
One of my lovely coworkers then lets out a rather obnoxious fart right next to my face which sets the entire mill laughing. I sighed through the reeking stench… my mind is set, I deserve so much better than this.
What is your character’s main goal? (Motivation): To simply belong somewhere. To find his place in the world, carpe diem.
Strengths (Both physical and personality):
Smart and thoughtful, Laek’s biggest strength is his ability to outsmart; often resorting to physical altercations only after all other options are exhausted. Years of being on the move however have toned him into decent physical condition.
Weaknesses (Balance out yours character's strengths with suitable weaknesses. Not knowing how to do something that is outside of your class is not a weakness. I.E. Not knowing how to use a bow as a miner.):
His education is somewhat lacking, as it pretty much ended at the age of 14, he relies on streetsmarts and survival skills to make up for this.
While he has experience with the militia, and has been in a few brawls himself, he lacks any sort of formal training in combat, leaving his rather unorthodox combat methods something to occasionally be made fun of.
In-Character-Responses (ICRs. For each scenario, write at least a paragraph describing entirely in-character how your character would respond to the situation. Your ICRs will be used to see how well you can RP. Please post them as if in IC chat. An example can be found after this form.)
Due a recent accident, you wander the dark quiet streets of the town with a broken ankle trying to make your way home:
Laek didn’t need to check his pockets, he knew already he didn’t have the money to afford a room at the inn tonight. Instead he sets his eyes on a dimly lit bridge on the outskirts of town. Hoping down the bank he bit his lip to prevent crying out in pain.
“Damn it, Laek.” He thought to himself as he positioned himself directly under the bridge and slid to the ground, promising himself to never take work in the Melon Farms again. Looking at the cold stream of water before him, he aguishly stretched his leg out, submerging it in the water. The cold should help with the swelling at least, perhaps come the morning he could fashion a stint for it.
In a tavern, a stranger threatens you to fight him/her:
Not even Laek was sure of the words that he was speaking… all he was trying to do was borrow time. The inebriated man clearly was not open to logic, and it seemed that Laek himself was the target of tonight’s rampage. Spotting the perfect location he moved to it, the opposite side of the table. Place his hands atop of it Laek gave the guy one last chance to stand down. One vulgar insult about his unborn children later, and Laek was through playing the game.
Betting on the man’s inability to maintain balance, the fight was over nearly as soon as it began, seeing as how Laek grabbed the table and thrust upwards with all his might, bringing a slew of half empty mugs AND a table down upon the miserable drunk. Of course everyone grew silent but Laek was not one to stick around. With a hop and a skip he was out the door and hastily walking away… there was no work in this town anyways.
Your superior asks for a favor you would have problem doing:
“Look here Laek,” Tiz’rav began as he held out a satchel, “All you have to do is place this somewhere in the house and leave. Do that and I will double your pay for the day.”
Laek glanced down into the bag and back up at Tiz’rav, “You… really expect me to do this? This is just… just morbid!”
Tiz’rav looked annoyed as he took a step back, “It is harmless!”
“It is a severed head!” Exclaimed Laek as he pointed to the bag, “And the man’s hair is BLUE! Is that even a natural color?!”
“Alright, change of plans, do it or you can find a new Priest to serve as bodyguard for.”
Laek stood up, waving his hand, “Buzz off, I quit.” He walks to the door and stops… after a moment he turns around a small twinkle in his eye, “You really don’t think that this man…. This Olly P. Coves… do you think he won’t find it?”
Tiz’rav grinned back, “Trust me, he has not found them all yet…. Not in the least.”
Character Information
Name: Edmond Dumas (Aliases: Morell)
Age: 19
Class: Rogue/Swordsman
Physical Description: 5.5 inches tall, white skin, 130 pounds. Wears regular clothing and leather padding. Has short red hair, and dark blue eyes.
Biography:
Edmond was born to the Dumas Family; a noble family in the city-state of Vaerdezzio. His father, Maximillian Dumas was a prosecutor working for the 3 Courts, as well as a high-profile merchant. His mother, Heloise Dumas nee Alba was a socialite who mingled with the other ladies. When Edmond was five, Heloise gave birth to another son, whom she named Sebastian.
Edmond’s childhood was somewhat Victorian: safe and splendorous, but constrained and controlled. He was never allowed off the compound of the family estate, and he frequently wondered about the outside, and more importantly, the unrest between and Vaerdezzio As far as he was concerned, he knew nothing, only to be a good boy and let himself become an educated, respectable member of society fit to represent the Dumas Family and be married to whatever girl they picked. Any sign of disobedience was never tolerated, and for his part Edmond had to shoulder more expectations due to being the eldest child in his family. His education was the top quality, but economics and ciphers bored him to tears. It wasn’t long before he decided to start skipping lessons and faking illness. This would be the first of many acts of rebellion.
When he was twelve, Edmond snuck out of the estate while his parents were away and onto the streets of Vaerdezzio. Amazed by what he saw, he wandered around, only to have his handkerchief stolen by a boy his age. Furious, Edmond gave chase, only to run into another problem when he ran into an alley. Inside were a few lurking reprobates; who at the sight of Edmond in his fancy clothes decided to mug him. Edmond, however showed no fear, and dared them to “do their worst.” Just when it seemed like Edmond would meet a regretless end at the hands of the unknown he so wanted to see, the thief from earlier arrived, threw a handful of horse dung into one of the muggers’ faces, and helped Edmond escape. The thief introduced himself as Felonius, and Edmond likewise introduced himself. Felonius returned the stolen handkerchief, and for the first time, Edmond had a friend. Later, Edmond returned to his estate, and managed to slip into a fresh set of clothes to divert any suspicion. Edmond would continue sneaking out of the house to meet with Felonius, and the two of them would have many misadventures in the streets; learning how to fight, pick pockets, and lockpick, and even dress and talk like a commoner.
All of that came to a bitter and regretful end when Edmond was eighteen. He and Felonius had been out drinking when suddenly a captain burst into the bar announcing their intent to arrest Felonius for murder. Shocked, Edmond vehemently defended his friend, even going as far as to challenge the guard to a fight. Edmond and Felonius fought to the bitter end, but they were both badly beaten and arrested. The charges of resisting arrest were added, making Felonius’ case worse. As for Edmond, he had a criminal record for the first time. His parents were utterly furious, telling him he’d smeared the family name and that he no longer had a future, having so carelessly thrown it away. All Edmond cared about though, was what was going to happen to Felonius. His father informed Edmond that he would be the one prosecuting his friend, and gave him an ultimatum: Either he could be the good son and redeem himself by joining Vaerdezzio’s Militia, or he would watch Felonius die, as well as be charged for both assaulting a guard as well as being an accessory to murder for trying to help Felonius get away, even though he had nothing to do with it. His father told Edmond he could save his friend if he chose the former. Unwilling to sacrifice his friend, Edmond decided to enlist.
However, this proved to be for naught, as his father prosecuted Felonius to the maximum extent of Vaerdezzio Law for murder. He was found guilty, set to be executed in a year, and a distraught Edmond still had to go to serve in the army. Faced with no other option, and no longer finding anything worth staying for in his home or the whole of Vaerdezzio, Edmond decided to leave the City-State forever before he would be forcibly molded by the army into the "perfect son." He stole money from his father, snuck out of the estate yet again; although with Sebastian’s help this time, who sympathized with his feelings, bought a set of Commoner Clothes to pass as one, and smuggled himself out of the city. For the better part of half a year, Edmond tried looking for a place to settle down, but he couldn’t find anywhere, and he was now a deserter; returning home meant certain condemnation. Afraid of being captured and haunted by his old life, Edmond travelled using the alias “Edmond Morell.” As it happens, he was travelling the streets of Braxia when he saw a poster advertising Robert Ewarding’s expedition. Believing he could find a home there and leave his old life behind once and for all, Edmond set out to join and remove himself from all the turmoil in his life, as well as prove to himself that he can be his own man.
Main Goal: To reach the colonies, settle down, and leave his old life behind and resolve his self-doubts.
Strengths:
Best of Both Worlds: Edmond has received education from both upper and lower class mentors in their respective niches in society. As such, Edmond is able to communicate with both nobles and rogues without encountering otherwise awkward, and potentially dangerous situations. Skills learned from the Upper Class are Literacy, Etiquette, and Dancing. Lower class skills include Swordplay, Climbing, and Street-Smarts.
Weaknesses:
Anxious Heart: Edmond is outside of his comfort zone without any friends to guide him and is forced to take care of himself. On top of that, he is still haunted by the incident in Vaerdezzio, and as a result, he is anxious, apprehensive, and somewhat indecisive. Edmond will not engage himself in any trouble unless it’s absolutely necessary.
In-Character-Responses:
Due a recent accident, you wander the dark quiet streets of the town with a broken ankle trying to make your way home:
Edmond silently swore. Of all the times to break his ankle… Why didn’t he see that rotten rung in that ladder as he descended from that rooftop? Not worth a view of the night sky… However, his previous experiences doing what Felonius called “parkouring” had helped him find his way around the town better, and therefore where the local clinic was. Wincing at the pain and almost crying at the thought of having to limp all the way over there, he resolved never to parkour ever again, even if it meant he’d never see such a spectacular view again in his life.
In a tavern, a stranger threatens you to fight him/her:
“Fight me you cully! I’ll feed you your teeth!”
Edmond reluctantly turned in the direction of the voice; seeing an angry brute of a man looking as though he would knock Edmond’s head off with a single punch. He was drunk, no doubt about that on account of the whiskey bottle in his hands. He was angry; the look on his face said it all. And he was demanding a fistfight for no apparent reason whatsoever. There was only one thing to do.
“My god, what’s that over there?!” Edmond called out loudly.
The drunkard turned, and Edmond took his chance. He hauled **** out of the bar.
Your superior asks for a favor you would have problem doing:
Edmond’s eyes widened at the load of hay he was being asked to carry. “I… don’t know if I can carry that.”
His boss sniffed disapprovingly. “Y’know, back in my day, men your age did what they were told and liked it!” He sneered. “Unless of course you’re just some nancy rich-boy who’s never worked a day in his life!”
Edmond’s eyes narrowed slightly; did he somehow know? No, he told himself. No, that was impossible. Even so, his boss was right… Half-right anyways. Now that his cover was at stake, he decided it would be prudent to just do as he was told.
“Fine… I’ll do it.” Edmond grumbled.
“I said do it and like it!” The boss snapped, as Edmond heaved the hay. He was sure his back would be killing him when he was done, but it’d be better than having his cover blown.
Character Information
Name: Bennuck Croft
Age: 21
Class: Farmer/Woodsman
Physical description: Auburn hair that is no longer than his chin, parted on his right-hand side. He wears a simple tunic and work pants, for whenever he needs to work of course. He has a bit more muscular than average build, stands at 5'7", and weighs in at about 145 pounds. Bennuck has tan skin, and large eyes on his round face.
Screen capture of your skin:
Biography (Minimum 300 words. No clichés such as loved one being killed by robbers or the like.): Bennuck Croft was born into the kingdom of Braxia. His mother always had work as a miner, so he was hardly used to spending time with her. Instead he grew up more with his dad, and together they enjoyed the simple things in life. He had been a very curious boy, always watching and observing. However he was also shy, so he hardly spoke much to anyone he wasn't close enough with.
When Bennuck was 7, he began showing signs of interest in nature. He was fascinated with how things could be planted and grown, as well as with animals. There were many living things, which didn't talk or think, yet he found himself listening to their non-existent voices. He wasn't like the other boys who grew up around him, who all loved to play with stick-swords, and roughhouse.
In fact, by the age of 15, he still didn't know a lick of fighting or defense. He chose to continue his path of peace, working as a farmhand. He also became a vegetarian, outright refusing to eat anything that was meat. He didn't want to harm nature, seeing as it never harmed him. The only natural thing he wasn't comfortable with, was water, seeing as he never learned how to swim.
Once he turned 20, he was intrigued by the concept of building with wood. A tree would generously sacrifice itself for the use of it's lumber. From there it could be constructed into many things, such as a house or building of some sort. It was from there that Bennuck decided that he would use building, as well as farming as a career choice.
Now 21, and having heard of there being new land to colonize, Bennuck signed up to take part in the new opportunity. New land meant new buildings were to be made, as well as farms to feed the colonists. He saw this as a golden chance to start his own life, and hopefully it would be good.
What is your character’s main goal? (Motivation): To develop a good life. His ambitions are to have his own farm, and live in a safe, large community where his skills are needed.
Strengths (Both physical and personality): Bennuck is a tad muscular from his farm work, and even a bit of his building experience. He also knows how to move quickly if need be. As for personality, he is very understanding, curious, and is always observing.
Weaknesses (Balance out yours character's strengths with suitable weaknesses. Not knowing how to do something that is outside of your class is not a weakness. I.E. Not knowing how to use a bow as a miner.): Bennuck does not know how to fight or defend himself in the slightest, isn't the least bit stealthy, and can't swim, barely managing to even float. For personality, he keeps to himself and is quiet due to shyness, not bothering to make friends, or trust many people.
In-Character-Responses (ICRs. For each scenario, write at least a paragraph describing entirely in-character how your character would respond to the situation. Your ICRs will be used to see how well you can RP. Please post them as if in IC chat. An example can be found after this form.)
Due a recent accident, you wander the dark quiet streets of the town with a broken ankle trying to make your way home: Bennuck bit his lip to keep silent, slowly making his way through the town. His ankle was broken from tripping on a broken cobblestone path, and he was trying to get home to rest. He hobbled along, using a large stick as a makeshift cane, wincing every so often when he applied too much pressure to his ankle. He paused to let out a shaky sigh, knowing he wouldn't get home for quite some time. He then continued on his way, now watching his steps very carefully.
In a tavern, a stranger threatens you to fight him/her: He stared down at his glass, ignoring the harsh words of the stranger threatening him. He didn't do anything to set him off, so he assumed the man had too much to drink. Watching him from the corner of his eye, he saw the man getting angrier. Bennuck quickly stood up and left, not wanting to get into a fight and lose. He then went for a stroll, to avoid running into the man again that night.
Your superior asks for a favour you would have problem doing: The note was very clear in what it wanted done. A rather wealthy woman wanted Bennuck to sell his farm animals to the local butcher, which would fetch a high price. Naturally he refused, and wrote her back, making it obvious that his animals were not for sale. Especially to someone who would kill them. He continued about his day, knowing he made the right decision.
Great job on the application as always, Tsev! I've always wanted to RP with the infamous Laek. Can't wait to see you on the server!
Madame_Sukii:
It wasn't a bad application, per se. However, there were some mistakes that I couldn't overlook. The first big problem is that you didn't include a skin. I know you might be anxious for the new server, but you should wait until you have your skin at the very least. That was the first and biggest problem I saw, but I'll go over a few more.
- She mostly tricked people so she can buy sweets, but as she got older, she started to eye bigger, and better things. I'm not too sure what you meant by this. She is still only ten. Also, I think you could get away with her being 12, 13 or 14. She seems a /little/ too mature for her age, considering the circumstances.
- Who is proposing an expedition to the western lands? Braxia is running out of lands to discover and conquer, and have decided to move west. I think you might've misunderstood the question. It was /who/, not why.
-Perhaps Craftsman/Rogue will fit your character more? Not sure why she'd be a miner.
- Again, the ICRs seem to make your character a little too mature to be 10 years old. I think it'd be for the best if you make her a little bit older.
Fix those up and you'll be golden! Don't be afraid to contact me via Skype or PM if you ever need any help. Good luck!
Double-Defer
Bearblock:
A fair warning, please don't use hashtags or casual chat lingos on the app. Some of these answers were unacceptable and almost seemed like you were trolling. I did not appreciate some of the humor and attitude you had when answering these questions, and I'm sure none of the other staff do, either.
- Decent archer You should explain more as to how he was able to obtain the skills. Stuff like archery isn't developed overnight, you know.
- Speaking about the backstory, you should flesh out your character more. All I got from the biography was your character's skills and that he liked nobility. We need to know more of your personality and traits. Right now, he seems all too one-sided.
- None of your weaknesses are actual weaknesses. Not being as fit as a soldier or a laborer should be a given, considering you lived your life without much physical hardships. Being overly ambitious isn't much of a weakness either. We need a real weakness that would balance out your otherwise OP character. Also, I never got the notion that he'd lose temper quickly from your biography.
- The rulers of the Braxian thingy That does /not/ work.
- ur mum #rekt No.
- When? Idfk when you feel like it. Don't use it in crucial RP situations I guess because that would mess up immersion. These are all grounds for double-defer or even a rejection. Please be serious with your answers.
Fix those up, and you'll be good to go! If you need any help, contact me via Skype or PM. Good luck!
Name:
Edward "Eddie" Collins
Age:
28
Class:
Berserker-Woodsman
Physical description:
About 6'0'' (1.83 meters), lean muscle, curly brown hair, green eyes, missing top left front tooth, always wears a bowler hat. Wears a scarlet coat over a black undershirt with a white ascot draped around his neck along with brown, baggy pants and hiking boots in casual situations. Wears a black vest and white dress shirt when practicing law.
Screen capture of your skin:
Biography (Minimum 300 words. No clichés such as loved one being killed by robbers or the like.):
Eddie was born in a small cabin just outside of the Braxian capital. His mother and father were kind yet fair guardians, raising him with the morals that would instill him with the sense of justice that would drive him later in life. When he was five, Eddie's younger sister was born. Eddie adored his younger sister, playing with her at every opportunity. Eddie's father owned a lumber mill, and Eddie was trained from a young age to take over for his father. Eddie, though, went into town with his father one day and saw a young man being beaten by local thugs, with the guard nearby jingling a few coins in his hand and smirking. Eddie, furious that such a thing would be allowed to happen, asked the local bookkeeper what career he should go into should he want to actually protect the innocent. The man suggested going into practicing law, and young Eddie had decided what he was going to do; not only bring those who deserved it to justice, but force the guard to perform their jobs with far more regulations. From that day on, Eddie studied rigorously, eventually making his way to higher education and graduating with flying colors. He took a relatively well-paying job as a prosecutor in a smaller district of the capital, living in a small apartment with the bare minimum requirements for human inheritance. At this job, he relished the opportunity to put criminals away, but despised when he was forced to prosecute cases in which he believed the defendant innocent. His boss was a kind man, but a pushover, and allowed the more powerful of governmental officials to push him around. Eddie would have none of this, and attempted once to stand up to said officials. He was fired. Undeterred, Eddie began looking for new places to go, places where there were no major officials to be afraid of, a place where he could start his own law firm. When he heard of the opportunity to explore the frontier and start anew, he thought it a perfect way to re-try his crusade for justice. He bode farewell to his mother, father and sister and set out with little more than his law training and the clothes on his back to get him started. (Very sorry for low quality of bio, writing these is not my forte.)
What is your character’s main goal? (Motivation):
To end corruption and bring justice for the innocent.
Strengths (Both physical and personality):
Can wield an axe fairly well due to years of working with his father, kind, strong sense of justice, incredibly intelligent when it comes to law, able to problem solve, observant, optimistic
Weaknesses (Balance out yours character's strengths with suitable weaknesses. Not knowing how to do something that is outside of your class is not a weakness. I.E. Not knowing how to use a bow as a miner.):
Outside of the courtroom, Eddie is a bit of a scatterbrain, hotheaded, distrusts authority, often oblivious, could even be considered stupid when it comes to things outside of law. An idiot savant, if you will.
In-Character-Responses (ICRs. For each scenario, write at least a paragraph describing entirely in-character how your character would respond to the situation. Your ICRs will be used to see how well you can RP. Please post them as if in IC chat. An example can be found after this form.)
Due a recent accident, you wander the dark quiet streets of the town with a broken ankle trying to make your way home:
"Goshdang pit with its goshdang mud and goshdang dress shoes, goshdang it...ow...ow...ow..." Eddie mutters as he limps his way back to his house, wincing with every other step. "Why d'they gotta make these roads dirt, anyways? Not like nobody uses 'em...ow...ow....ow..." he continues to say, the road only dimly lit by the small match he is clutching and failing to light a cigar he had saved for winning today's case. "Gah...just ups and downs, today is..." Eddie rolls his eyes and pockets the cigar, the match having burned out. "Finally...home sweet home," he sighs with relief, swinging open his heavy oaken door. Eddie shuffles to his small feather bed and flops onto it heavily. Another case won by the wonderful Eddie Collins...heh. It'd be nice to come home to a warm house with a warm meal...nah...you're thinking too much, Eddie. You got your whole life ahead of you. Saving the world first, romance second. He rolls quietly onto his side, and without even taking his work clothes off, drifts into a dreamless sleep.
In a tavern, a stranger threatens you to fight him/her:
Eddie sighs, setting down his beverage. "Look, fella. This is my time of day t'just...relax. Unwind. Go zen. You gettin' this?" The swaying man nods slightly. "Now, what I want you to see here is-" Eddie cuts himself off by driving his fist into the other bar patron's nose. He hisses in pain, flapping his hand around like it's on fire, but manages to spit out, "THAT's fer makin' my sister cry when yew DUMPED her, yew *****!" to the now both dazed and drunk man. Now gripping his bloody hand, Eddie stalks out of the tavern, muttering about "the nerve of him wanting to fight ME..."
Your superior asks for a favour you would have problem doing:
"B-but, sir..." Eddie protests, pointing to the case file. "Th-the boy's innocent. I've looked over this file hundreds of times, an' he...he just couldn'ta dunnit! I can't prosecute this case!" The older lawyer and senior prosecutor for the city looks at Eddie with sympathy. "M'boy, I agree with you. But you know as well as I that trying the real culprit would get us both fired. I'm sorry, but you're going to have to prosecute him." "S-sir...I just...the boy's been known t' cause trouble...you know the jury'll convict him just cause'a that..." Eddie continues weakly, his shoulders dropping. The old man sighs, running a hand over his balding scalp. "Look. If we had another choice, I'd take it. But we don't, and if you don't want us both killed and thrown in a gutter by tomorrow, you'll get in there and try the case. I'm not saying you have to try to convict, just...just get in there and look like you're trying." Eddie nods slightly, adjusting his hat. "Yessir."
This app was just very well-written, overall. In my opinion, the backstory perhaps shied a bit too much away from Bennuck's personal life, but everything else was balanced and clearly well-thought-out. I'll see you server-side, April 19th!
While overall this was a good app, Edmond seems to have useful skills from both the upper and lower classes, but none of the weaknesses of either class. In fact, the only weakness that I could see was a fairly easy-to-overcome social one. If you can perhaps review his backstory and give him a suitable, tangible, physical weakness, then you should be good to go. It shouldn't be too hard, I doubt it will take you long.
Character Information
Name: Edmond Dumas (Aliases: Morell)
Age: 19
Class: Rogue/Swordsman
Physical Description: 5.5 inches tall, white skin, 130 pounds. Wears regular clothing and leather padding. Has short red hair, and dark blue eyes.
Edmond was born to the Dumas Family; a noble family in the city-state of Vaerdezzio. His father, Maximillian Dumas was a prosecutor working for the 3 Courts, as well as a high-profile merchant. His mother, Heloise Dumas nee Alba was a socialite who mingled with the other ladies. When Edmond was five, Heloise gave birth to another son, whom she named Sebastian.
Edmond’s childhood was somewhat Victorian: safe and splendorous, but constrained and controlled. He was never allowed off the compound of the family estate, and he frequently wondered about the outside, and more importantly, the unrest between and Vaerdezzio As far as he was concerned, he knew nothing, only to be a good boy and let himself become an educated, respectable member of society fit to represent the Dumas Family and be married to whatever girl they picked. Any sign of disobedience was never tolerated, and for his part Edmond had to shoulder more expectations due to being the eldest child in his family. His education was the top quality, but economics and ciphers bored him to tears. It wasn’t long before he decided to start skipping lessons and faking illness. This would be the first of many acts of rebellion.
When he was twelve, Edmond snuck out of the estate while his parents were away and onto the streets of Vaerdezzio. Amazed by what he saw, he wandered around, only to have his handkerchief stolen by a boy his age. Furious, Edmond gave chase, only to run into another problem when he ran into an alley. Inside were a few lurking reprobates; who at the sight of Edmond in his fancy clothes decided to mug him. Edmond, however showed no fear, and dared them to “do their worst.” Just when it seemed like Edmond would meet a regretless end at the hands of the unknown he so wanted to see, the thief from earlier arrived, threw a handful of horse dung into one of the muggers’ faces, and helped Edmond escape. The thief introduced himself as Felonius, and Edmond likewise introduced himself. Felonius returned the stolen handkerchief, and for the first time, Edmond had a friend. Later, Edmond returned to his estate, and managed to slip into a fresh set of clothes to divert any suspicion. Edmond would continue sneaking out of the house to meet with Felonius, and the two of them would have many misadventures in the streets; learning how to fight, pick pockets, and lockpick, and even dress and talk like a commoner.
All of that came to a tragic and explosive end when Edmond was eighteen. He and Felonius had been out drinking when suddenly a captain burst into the bar announcing their intent to arrest Felonius for murder. Shocked, Edmond vehemently defended his friend, even going as far as to challenge the guard to a fight. Edmond and Felonius fought to the bitter end, but they were both badly beaten and arrested. The charges of resisting arrest were added, making Felonius’ case worse. As for Edmond, he had a criminal record for the first time. His parents were utterly furious, telling him he’d smeared the family name and that he no longer had a future, having so carelessly thrown it away. All Edmond cared about though, was what was going to happen to Felonius. His father informed Edmond that he would be the one prosecuting his friend, and gave him an ultimatum: Either he could be the good son and redeem himself by joining Vaerdezzio’s Militia, or he would watch Felonius die, as well as be charged for both assaulting a guard as well as being an accessory to murder for trying to help Felonius get away, even though he had nothing to do with it. His father told Edmond he could save his friend if he chose the former. Unwilling to sacrifice his friend, Edmond decided to enlist.
However, this proved to be for naught, as his father prosecuted Felonius to the maximum extent of Vaerdezzio Law for murder. He was found guilty, set to be executed in a year, and a distraught Edmond still had to go to serve in the army. Faced with no other option, and no longer finding anything worth staying for in his home or the whole of Vaerdezzio, Edmond decided to leave the City-State forever. He stole money from his father, snuck out of the estate yet again; although with Sebastian’s help this time, who sympathized with his feelings, bought a set of Commoner Clothes to pass as one, and smuggled himself out of the city. For the better part of half a year, Edmond tried looking for a place to settle down, but he couldn’t find anywhere, and he was now a deserter; returning home meant certain condemnation. Afraid of being captured and haunted by his old life, Edmond travelled using the alias “Edmond Morell.” As it happens, he was travelling the streets of Braxia when he saw a poster advertising Robert Ewarding’s expedition. Believing he could find a home there and leave his old life behind once and for all, Edmond set out to join and remove himself from all the turmoil in his life.
Main Goal: To reach the colonies, settle down, and leave his old life behind.
Strengths:
Best of Both Worlds: Edmond has received education from both upper and lower class mentors in their respective niches in society. As such, Edmond is able to communicate with both nobles and rogues without encountering otherwise awkward, and potentially dangerous situations. Skills learned from the Upper Class are Literacy, Etiquette, and Dancing. Lower class skills include Swordplay, Climbing, and Street-Smarts.
Weaknesses:
Anxious Heart: Edmond is outside of his comfort zone without any friends to guide him and is forced to take care of himself. On top of that, he is still haunted by the incident in Vaerdezzio, and as a result, he is anxious, apprehensive, and somewhat indecisive. Edmond will not engage himself in any trouble unless it’s absolutely necessary.
Rich Boy with Survivor’s Guilt: Edmond, being born into an upper class family was raised with all the prejudices towards lower class people that come with such a lifestyle; specifically being that poor people are only poor because they choose to be, and that most lower-class people resort to at least one crime in their lives. This particular prejudice was reinforced by the fact that his father’s job was to punish criminals. He is also not used to doing hard labor as much as everyone else in his new environment. Adding to the confusion are his newfound discoveries he experienced while running with Felonius, which make him feel guilty for being unable to help Felonius and other suffering people. He blames himself for all the circumstances that led to his sad departure from a life he cannot return to.
Virtually Bankrupt: Edmond is no longer living a privileged life and is completely new to the idea of being without any fortune of any kind. While he has stolen for fun before, he has considered the possibility that he may have to beg, and even steal food for a living to keep himself alive. Seeing as how it goes against everything he was taught from birth to believe, Edmond is no more comfortable doing this than walking on hot coals. Add to the risk that if he were to be caught, he may very well lose his freedom. While Edmond will do whatever it takes to avoid that situation, it will never be as easy as it used to be, and when it comes to transition between social classes, adaptation can be difficult.
In-Character-Responses:
Due a recent accident, you wander the dark quiet streets of the town with a broken ankle trying to make your way home:
Edmond silently swore. Of all the times to break his ankle… Why didn’t he see that rotten rung in that ladder as he descended from that rooftop? Not worth a view of the night sky… However, his previous experiences doing what Felonius called “parkouring” had helped him find his way around the town better, and therefore where the local clinic was. Wincing at the pain and almost crying at the thought of having to limp all the way over there, he resolved never to parkour ever again, even if it meant he’d never see such a spectacular view again in his life.
In a tavern, a stranger threatens you to fight him/her:
“Fight me you cully! I’ll feed you your teeth!”
Edmond reluctantly turned in the direction of the voice; seeing an angry brute of a man looking as though he would knock Edmond’s head off with a single punch. He was drunk, no doubt about that on account of the whiskey bottle in his hands. He was angry; the look on his face said it all. And he was demanding a fistfight for no apparent reason whatsoever. There was only one thing to do.
“My god, what’s that over there?!” Edmond called out loudly.
The drunkard turned, and Edmond took his chance. He hauled **** out of the bar.
Your superior asks for a favor you would have problem doing:
Edmond’s eyes widened at the load of hay he was being asked to carry. “I… don’t know if I can carry that.”
His boss sniffed disapprovingly. “Y’know, back in my day, men your age did what they were told and liked it!” He sneered. “Unless of
course you’re just some nancy rich-boy who’s never worked a day in his life!”
Edmond’s eyes narrowed slightly; did he somehow know? No, he told himself. No, that was impossible. Even so, his boss was right… Half-right anyways. Now that his cover was at stake, he decided it would be prudent to just do as he was told.
“Fine… I’ll do it.” Edmond grumbled.
“I said do it and like it!” The boss snapped, as Edmond heaved the hay. He was sure his back would be killing him when he was done, but it’d be better than having his cover blown.
Character Information
Name: William Rold
Age: 25
Class: Rogue
Physical description: William is a little bit over average height. Is strong. Has dirty blonde slightly long hair. Has a beard. Blue eyes.
Biography (Minimum 300 words. No clichés such as loved one being killed by robbers or the like.): William was born in the Gart’nun Isles and lived there for most of his life. He was born into his family as an only child. His father, Garret, served in the Empiracle army and his mother stayed home to take care of him. During his time growing up, his father had taught him how to wield a sword which William turned out to be very good at after years of practice on his wooden dummy. William was a pretty normal child, played around outside a lot and enjoyed climbing trees, which he was very good at.
When he was around fifteen years old, his mother received a letter saying that his father had died in battle a week before. He and his mother cried most of the night, and then William began to get angry. The rest of the night he stood in his room smashing his sword into the wooden dummy until the sun rose and he was exhausted. Eventually, his mother began to run low on money, not having a job and with her husband dead, so William toke it into his own hands. Whenever he headed out he’d keep an eye out for anything that might be of value, then he would take it. For the first month or so of doing this he would be easily spotted but was quick enough to run away. Eventually he got the hang of it slowly and people began to not notice until he was long gone. His mother was always curious as to how he brought so much money in, but she never asked questions.
One day, about three years later, using the money William brought home she went out to buy some food from the local tavern when some drunken men started to harass her. She slapped one of them across the face after telling him to stop repeatedly. Then he hit her in the face. She headed home as quickly as possible, trying to hide the black eye that was quickly forming. When she stepped into the house William was there and he noticed her eye. He asked her if she was alright and what happened and who did this, but his mom wouldn’t say at first but after enough times of asking she told him it was two drunk men that were at the bar who harassed her so she slapped one and he hit her. William stormed into the kitchen and grabbed a knife, slipping it into his belt loop he stormed out of the house, his mother trying to stop him but he just kept walking towards the tavern.
When he got to the tavern he burst in through the door and yelled at everyone, asking who it was that hit his mother when one drunk man spoke up and said, “Oi, was that the pretty lady that slapped me?” obviously too drunk to notice his mistake. William pulled the knife out of the belt loop and stabbed it into the man’s gut. He continued to stab him until he was lying dead in a pool of his own blood. People were screaming and running from the tavern as William slipped the knife back into his belt loop and ran home. He quickly told his mom that they had to leave, now. But his mother refused so William ran upstairs packed his things, including his father’s sword, and ran downstairs. He hugged his mother good bye as he ran towards the docks. He quickly bought a ticket onto the next ship and headed away from the island. While on the boat he was fascinated by how it worked so he spoke to the captain to see if he could perhaps teach him how to sail. The captain welcomed him with open arms and took him under his wing. William sailed with the captain for a year until he got the hang of sailing once he did he got off and entered the capital of the Llandican Empire. William got a job on a merchant ship, and stayed there for a few months until it got attacked by pirates who killed most of the merchants, looted the ship and sunk it. But William was offered a spot aboard their crew as he showed significant fighting capabilities as he tried to defend the ship from the pirates. So, deciding it was better than dying on a sinking ship, he accepted. He quickly became accustomed to the pirate life, boarding ships, killing, looting, and getting a good portion of the loot. But then it came to an end one day when they were attacking a convoy when a military ship seemed to appear out of the blue. They put up a fight but were eventually overpowered. William, not wanting to get arrested grabbed a broken plank and jump into the ocean. Eventually he floated up on the side of a beach somewhere. He then, seeing the smoke of a settlement, headed in that direction. Once there he figured out he had ended up in a town in the far southwestern town of Roland’s Field. After he arrived he began to wear a hood a lot so people couldn’t see his face, or recognize him.
What is your character’s main goal? (Motivation): To get enough riches to live a desirable life and to get a boat of his very own.
Strengths (Both physical and personality): Roland is quite strong, but not so bulky as to slow him down when he wants to run. His height is average enough to not make him stand out in a crowd which makes his job a lot easier. Personality wise if you just met him and were talking to him, you wouldn’t think he’d stab a knife into your gut just to get a few coins out of your pocket. He is very good at climbing and is able to climb walls as long as there are enough foot holds and ledges to grab onto. He’s gotten good and blending into his surroundings and hiding. He is quite skilled with a sword.
Weaknesses (Balance out yours character's strengths with suitable weaknesses. Not knowing how to do something that is outside of your class is not a weakness. I.E. Not knowing how to use a bow as a miner.): He doesn’t tend to put his trust into anyone. He is often clouded by greed. He doesn’t know how to get money besides stealing it. He hasn’t been able to hold jobs for too long because he’s not very good at them.
In-Character-Responses (ICRs. For each scenario, write at least a paragraph describing entirely in-character how your character would respond to the situation. Your ICRs will be used to see how well you can RP. Please post them as if in IC chat. An example can be found after this form.)
Due a recent accident, you wander the dark quiet streets of the town with a broken ankle trying to make your way home:
“Frak, frak,” William curses under his breathe every time he puts his weight on the broken ankle.
He had just stole a fair bit of cash from a fellow on the street but a guard had noticed him and called some buds to chase him. He tried getting up onto the rooftops so he could escape, which he did but at the cost of jumping off the roof into a dark alley which he landed on his ankle the wrong way and broke it. He managed to use the shadows in the alleys to hobble further from the guards. Once he figured he was clear he stepped back out on the main road. He headed towards his hide out he called home while trying to keep the pain at bay. He finally made it a laid down on his bed.
He decided he’ll sleep now and go to a hospital in the morning.
In a tavern, a stranger threatens you to fight him/her:
“Well, yuh’ gunna’ figh’ me or are yuh’ jus’ gunna’ si’ ‘ere?” the drunken man asked as he swayed around in the middle of the tavern, obviously very drunk. William sighs as he stands up, his back facing the drunken man but knowing exactly where he is.
“Well, I suppose you asked for it,” and as he said that he pivoted on his left foot, stepping forward with his right and putting all his power into the hit, aiming for the man’s jaw. His fist connects and the man crumples to the floor, knocked out cold. William shakes out his hand as he kneels down next to the drunken man’s unconscious body and searches his pockets for some coins. He find a small pouch and takes it as he walks out of the tavern, whistling happily.
Your superior asks for a favour you would have problem doing:
“You want me to pull a hay cart across town when you have to perfectly able horses in a stable out back?” William asks, annoyed.
“Mhmm. Do you have a problem with that?” his boss asks snarkily. William thinks about how this man has quite a bit of money that he’s going to pay him for this job. Then he figures the jobs not worth it, but he stills wants the money. He walks up to his boss who is looking at a painting on his wall. William taps his shoulder.
“You’re still he-“ his boss turns around as he is cut off by Williams fist connecting with his jaw, making him stumble back. William then grabs his neck and smashes his head against the wall, knocking him unconscious. He searches his pockets and the room for any valuables then leaves.
Who is proposing an expedition to the western lands?:
The famous Braxian explorer, Robert Ewarding.
You did a good job in giving Edmond a more realistic set of weaknesses that pairs well with his backstory. Though the new weaknesses seem to mostly still be the same "fish out of water"-type, you mentioned his lack of raw physical power. Additionally, the rest of your app supports this enough to justify an accept, so, I can't wait to see you April 19th!
FOR FUTURE APPLICANTS: PLEASE REPOST YOUR APPLICATION IF YOU HAVE BEEN DEFERRED. Reposting your application makes it a lot easier for us whitelisters to navigate to your app and to compare and contrast your applications. Thank you for your cooperation!
Madame_Sukii:
Nice job fixing the application! However, you still got the lore question wrong. Please read it over one more time just to make sure. And, while I would normally defer anyone without a skin, I know you won't come on and roleplay with a batman skin or anything like that. Just make sure to message me your skin when you have it. Welcome back to Silver Gaming (Officially)! I'd tell you where to find our site, but I know you know that I know that you know. Can't wait to RP with you!
Wheatleylabs777:
Great job on the application, Wheats! I would, however, have liked to see something about Eddie's physique in both the Strengths and Weakness category. Other than that, though, it was great! I especially liked the ICRs. Looking forward to RP with you and remember, never drink two whole alcohols!
Deferred:
Chilli50:
Overall, the application was good. However, there are a couple major things that I just couldn't help but notice.
- Your skin is a character from Assassin's Creed. It's not really appropriate for the server, so try and find something less popular.
- Your strengths completely outweigh your weaknesses. It seems you were thinking too hard about making him a villain and forgot some of the human parts about your character. Try to balance him out a bit physically.
- Your character seems a little flat and cliche. I'm not saying you'll have to change your character, but maybe you could add some events that weren't mostly about vengeance, just to put a little bit more human into him.
Fix those up, and you'll be perfect! Feel free to contact me via Skype or PM if you ever need any help! Good luck!
Character Information
Name: Jacob Novedal
Age: 22
Class: Archer/Farmer
Physical description: Jacob stands at an average 5' 6", has long dark brown hair and despite being a farmer, is rather pale in complexion. He is physically strong and prefers to have a small, unkempt bit of facial hair. He wears a light brown tunic, with a leather undercloth and a pair of handed down boots.
Biography: Jacob was born to raised by Mary and John Novadal with his five siblings. He is the oldest of the Novedal children at 22, although not the tallest. He stands at an average 5' 6", has long dark brown hair and despite being a farmer, is rather pale in complexion. He is strong in both the physical and moral sense, but lacks conviction when it comes to making his own decisions. He can lead his siblings like a king at the farm, but is rather uncouth in public.
Jacob was slow to make friends while growing up, and never had a true friend except in the family's dog, Daisy. He tends to be indecisive at times, but once he's made up his mind, he sees his actions through, no matter the outcome. He can be fairly stubborn when it comes to his beliefs, or lack thereof as is the case. His family is a devout worshiper of Kastelmism, and thus has always been a bit of a black sheep.
During the winters on the farm, at the age of 15, Jacob was assigned the job of hunting to feed the family. He went with his father the first few times, but quickly mastered the bow and arrow, due to his solitary nature. His father took great pride in his sons skills and once entered him in the town archery contest. After getting extremely nervous in the first round and losing horribly, Jacobs father became upset with him. When he tried to explain himself, his father began to become more and more upset, causing Jacob to feel terrible about ever learning to use the bow. As he grew older, he began to clash more and more with his father. His mother understood his frustration but was unable to help him, as her husband would become upset with her as well.
Nowadays, he is constantly conflicting with his family, due to his solitary ways and disbelief in Kastelmism.
What is your character’s main goal?: Jacob has come of age and due to escalating differences between his family, he has decided to venture to the new land, for a farm of his own, a fresh start and maybe an adventure or two along the way.
Strengths: Strong both physically and morally. Capable of being a great leader of men and has exceptional archer skills, due to many years hunting for food during the cold, long winters.
Weaknesses: Jacob is painfully shy, and indecisive at times. His stubbornness can sometimes get him into trouble, especially when it comes to his core beliefs. He is a pacifist by nature and prefers to solve his problems through verbal means. He also cares more for others than himself, always making other people his first priority.
In-Character-Responses (ICRs. For each scenario, write at least a paragraph describing entirely in-character how your character would respond to the situation. Your ICRs will be used to see how well you can RP. Please post them as if in IC chat. An example can be found after this form.)
Due a recent accident, you wander the dark quiet streets of the town with a broken ankle trying to make your way home: Jacob limps to the nearest inn, and after offering to do some work for the stay, the innkeeper agrees to let him stay for the night while he splints his broken ankle.
In a tavern, a stranger threatens you to fight him/her: Rather than fighting, Jacob offers to buy the man/woman another drink. After getting them settled down, he would quietly slip from the tavern to find somewhere less social.
Your superior asks for a favor you would have problem doing: Jacob would decline respectively and explain why he would have a problem doing the favor.
Character Information
Name: Trevis Nowakowsky
Age: 37
Class: Miner/Woodsman
Physical description: Trevis is a very rugged looking man. While he isn’t at all bulky, the muscles he has are defined. He has a big scruffy beard to go with his long, dishevelled hair. His hair colour matches his brown eyes. He wears a simple cloth shirt and some aged dark pants. The footwear is also very old, being accompanied with faded colours and poorly sewn patches. His eyes are blue and empty as the sky on a clear day. The shiny ocean blue that he once had as a child has all but faded.
Screen capture of your skin
Biography (Minimum 300 words. No clichés such as loved one being killed by robbers or the like.):
Trevis was born in a simple farm town in Braxia, where politics and war never affected him during his childhood. His family relied entirely on the farm that they shared with a couple other families. One of those families had a child the same age as Trevis. Her name was Emilia, and with no other kids their age for miles, they became best friends.
As they grew older and became more rebellious, they became more intimate as well. One drunken night, the two of them made the biggest mistake of their lives. A couple months later, Emilia finds out she’s pregnant and tells Trevis about the news. Word spread and Trevis’s parents eventually found out about it. After a heated fight, Trevis was kicked out of the house. Not knowing what to do, he met with a shady businessman and stroke up a deal. Trevis was given 1000 gold coins and a secure job working in construction in a big city in return for Trevis’s child. Trevis asked Emilia to run away with him, that he had was hired by a contracting company and was guaranteed good pay. Emilia, oblivious to the fact that he had struck up a deal with the devil, took him on that offer.
The first couple of months went by quickly and joyfully, having moved to a small cabin just on the outskirts of the city. However, as the weeks carried on, Trevis became more and more paranoid. He started to talk less and came home to his pregnant partner late at night. One night, Trevis woke Emilia up and told her to pack her belongings. Within dawn, they would have arrived back a farmhouse with an old widower tending to it. He agreed to let the couple stay in the barn if he helped out with farm work. A couple weeks later, Emilia gave birth to a little girl. When Trevis first held his daughter, he started to cry. He knew the men would come looking for them. A week passed, and without anyone crossing by, or the widower gossiping about the news, things started to look up.
The fateful night came 8 months later. Trevis went out to the farm, carrying his daughter, Olivia, to show her what he was doing. His wife was helping out the widower with cooking and cleaning and everything seemed perfect. Trevis came back home a couple of hours later to the exact replica of the nightmares he had. Emilia and the widower’s dead bodies were on the ground, and a note was left on the table. He trembled as he went to pick up the note, but then he heard Olivia’s first words. “Momma?” Trevis collapsed on the floor, holding Olivia as tight as he can. Tears ran down his cheeks as he said “I’m so sorry.” Over and over again.
Three months later, Trevis managed to get in contact with an orphanage and sneaked into town. Trevis cried and held Olivia as tight as he could. He handed her over, and Olivia started to cry in confusion. “I’m so sorry baby, I’m so sorry!” He stood there, crying. He came back to the orphanage the very night, only to find out everyone had died, including Olivia. As he kneeled there, dumbfounded, he heard footsteps behind him. He turned around and charged at the man, screaming. There, a shoe met his face and Trevis fell on the ground, unconscious.
He woke up on a prison wagon. No. There were more wagons around him. It was a slave trade and he was secretly being traded to the then Llandican Empire for the war. Defeated, he sat there and awaited his fate. He was bought by the army and was mentally abused for weeks. He was then set up with other soldiers in the front lines of the war. Basically acting as a human shield, he spent what he thought was his last days with the other slaves. The next morning, he was going to die. As they charged onto the battlefield, he was immediately met with a sword hilt to the nose. He was knocked on the ground, and a Braxian soldier stood above him, his blade ready. “P-please…” Trevis choked out, tears in his eyes. He awaited his fate. The soldier shouted and shoved the blade into the ground. “Run. Run into the woods. And keep running.” Trevis wasted no time in running, making his way from the battlefield.
He took up a job at an unfair workshop, where he was forced to carry lumber and stone for 16 hours a day. He barely received money to stay alive, and he kept wondering why he was trying so hard to live. He considered suicide many times, but just couldn’t bring himself to do it. One day, Trevis saw a flier. It advertised new life and guaranteed food and shelter. He was sold on new life. He left his work without saying anything to his supervisors and set out to Roland’s Field.
What is your character’s main goal? (Motivation):
As a man who has gone through so much, he still asks for so little. He only wishes to live a simple life –a life that has eluded him for far too long.
Strengths (Both physical and personality):
Trevis is very perceptive of the world around him. He has a tremendous amount of determination and perseverance. While most won’t see it, he has goodness in his heart that has survived all the hardships and evil he has managed to survive through. He genuinely cares about the people he’s met. Physically, Trevis has lost most of the athleticism he once had as a youth. While he is still able to sprint during times of need, he will only last a short amount of time as he easily becomes short of breath. He prefers to walk around and uses his social invisibility to blend with the crowd. Has worked in labour for a while and with the help of his innate perception, he’s become very adept at building.
Weaknesses (Balance out yours character's strengths with suitable weaknesses. Not knowing how to do something that is outside of your class is not a weakness. I.E. Not knowing how to use a bow as a miner.):
Having lived a life full of running away, his combat abilities is average at best. He is kind to a fault, leaving him very vulnerable if someone were to target him. His voice and tone has always managed to keep people away, forcing him to become very quiet, and hardly starts a conversation himself– even to his friends. He hasn’t had much formal education, and really only knows the basics of reading and writing. Mathematics and sciences are something he can only dream to understand. While he can detect a lot of things in the streets that the average person cannot, he is often oblivious when it comes to his personal life.
In-Character-Responses (ICRs. For each scenario, write at least a paragraph describing entirely in-character how your character would respond to the situation. Your ICRs will be used to see how well you can RP. Please post them as if in IC chat. An example can be found after this form.)
Due a recent accident, you wander the dark quiet streets of the town with a broken ankle.
Trevis limps around, trying to make his way home from work. The supervisor merely put some bandages on the ankle, telling him there’s nothing he could do about it.
“Hah… This is troubleso-“ He winces as he steps on uneven ground. With all the exhaustion from work, he quickly starts to lose consciousness and eventually collapses onto the stone.
“Oh good! You’re awake!” Trevis bats his eye in confusion. There was a man standing above him, smiling. “Wh-where am I..?” Trevis manages to squeak out. He feels around. It’s comfy. The bed here is nothing like the blanket he sleeps on. He tries to move his feet off the bed, but quickly regrets the decision as a piercing pain goes through his right ankle. “Whoa there, fella! Don’t want you to be moving right now.” The man carefully rests Trevis’s legs onto the bed again. “I’m Doctor Riengo Zak, but you can just call me Riengo.” Trevis nods. “So… how did I end up here?” “Well, I was walkin’ home from work when I saw yah. You seemed to be limpin’ so I tried to get to ya to help. Seems like I didn’t make it fast enough.” Riengo scratches his head, smiling. Trevis reaches for Riengo’s hand and shakes it firmly. “Thank you so much, sir. You’ve saved my life.” Trevis smiles, enjoying life, even for a minute.
In a tavern, a stranger threatens you to fight him/her.
Trevis shakes his head. “Ma’am, please… I don’t want to cause any tr-“ Trevis is interrupted with a punch to the bridge of his nose. Trevis flinches back and holds his nose, to make sure it isn’t broken. Shaken up by the sudden aggressiveness, he realises it’s best for him to leave. “I-I’ll be making my way now…” Trevis, still protecting his nose, stands up. “You ain’t goin’ nowhere, dammit!” The woman swings at Trevis’s head and knocks him down. Trevis looks at the woman. Comparing both of their physiques, Trevis would easily have the upper hand, but sits there, looking at the woman. “Wh-what did I even do?!” “Shut your mouth!” The woman starts to kick at him, and everyone else watches, not doing anything about it.
“Hey! You stop that!” A muscular figure appears and separates the woman from Trevis. He reaches his hand out for Trevis. Trevis grabs onto it firmly and is helped back up. “You should leave now, I’ll handle this.” Without hesitation, Trevis nods and quickly leaves the scene.
Your superior asks for a favour you have problems with.
“Trevis, I’m not asking you! Go do it! NOW!” He shoves Trevis out of his office. Trevis was assigned to test the steaming hot stone to see if it was properly polished or not. Trevis looks around again. ‘There has to be gloves somewhere!’ After a few minutes of desperately looking for gloves, he gives up and looks at the piles of stone. He looks at his hand. “Here goes nothing…”
Who is proposing an expedition to the western lands?:
Overlord Rauric’s Ear and Robert Ewarding.
Where is the expedition to be launched from?:
Roland’s Field through the Rocky Cape
For one reason or another, you are here, wishing to head out into the unknown. The Braxian Crown has established a new colony in this alien land. You and many others, who are now to be considered your peers - some friends and some enemies, are among the first wave of colonists to explore, discover, and exploit this new land. You may seek riches, adventure, or perhaps a fresh start at life. Perhaps you are fleeing, perhaps you are courageously charging into the unknown. For yourself, for your loved ones, for the thrill, the riches, the glory, or perhaps even your King. Regardless, this is your story, and it has only just begun.
We are a community of roleplayers going on three years strong. Our community started back in late January of 2012 with God of Kings. The Silver Gaming community has since created multiple new servers after God of Kings - Silver Age, The Book of Halegron, Shrines of the Ancients, and The Anerian Chronicles - and we welcome you all to our latest server, The Wayward Ones.
If you don’t know what a “Roleplay server” is, it is simply a minecraft server in which you play the part of a character in our fantasy world. It’s like minecraft LARPing, but ten times more epic than that sounds.
Our server in particular is geared towards dedicated roleplayers, and a player-driven story. We want the players to be a part of major decisions going on with the server, as well as having ultimate control of where the story leads. We staff will be setting up some pretty cool events, hidden secrets and the like, but it’s up to the players to decide what to do about them. Unlike other servers, we don’t immediately assign the most powerful roles to our own staff. Rather, we let the players decide who they want to lead them. Revolts, wars and the like are a major possibility for switching leadership. Here, the players have the power, and more than they did in any of our previous servers (or other roleplaying servers throughout the minecraft community). With the setting of the server and how things are run, the players will have more liberty from staff interaction than ever, which you can read about later in this post.
Our community is one of the most tightly knit that I have ever seen. We are a caring and compassionate community, where we make sure that EVERYONE enjoys themselves on the server. We endeavor to be accepting to players of all descriptions, young and old, noobs and veterans, and work very hard to ensure that our server is a positive environment. That means that if you like griefing, being rude, making inappropriate jokes, or generally being an unfriendly person, this server is not for you.
We have a code-wizard in our back pocket, named Baeshra. He's coded all sorts of Silvergaming-exclusives for us to use to help improve enjoyment and immersion. The information listed below ought to help give you a glimpse of what we have to offer!
Custom Chat System
We have two main channels, Local and Out of Character. You can switch between these two channels with "/ch o" and "/ch l". Out of Character chat is distinguished by grey type and is visible anywhere in the world and is used, as the name would imply, is used for purely OOC matters. Local chat has a set range measured in blocks within which you can clearly be heard in, and is reserved for in-character conversations. You can set your "volume" (Base distance your voice travels) with the command "/t #" replacing # with a distance from 1.5 to 30, or by using "s" for "Shout", "w" for "whisper" and "l" for "local". Our code-wizard Baeshra has coded us a custom chat system for "muffling" - when you are outside of someone's chat range while they're talking, you may still be able to catch snippets of what they're saying, while other bits of their sentences will be replaced with dashes. Move closer to hear more clearly, and make sure you're talking loud enough for the people you're talking to to hear you.
Production Point System
To add some realism and prevent players from building castles within a single in-game day, we have added a "Production Point System", or "PP" for short. You get 1 PP every 15 minutes, whether you are on or off the server, up to a max of 64 PP in reserve at any point in time. Different actions take different amounts of PP (Crafting items, placing/breaking blocks, breeding animals, and so forth). These costs are multiplied by 1/2 if you have a half-class relevant to the activity (See "Classes" below) and multiplied by 1/4 if you are a Specialist in that class.
Unique Items
We have a custom item system, where items are crafted in dispensers instead of crafting tables, allowing for all sorts of fun new toys! Depending on your class and your background, you'll start off knowing different recipes, and be able to learn more through play and experimentation. Just to give you a taste, we have items such as: daggers, shortswords, longswords, axes, leather armor, hard leather armor, studded leather armor, chainmail, full plate, and WAY MORE, in a variety of materials, such as iron, steel, argent and crystalline. Talk to Tsev92 if your character is a Craftsman and you'd like to work out what recipes to start with! New items being added every week!
Realistic Agriculture
Plants do not grow overnight. As a Farmer, you can expect to tend to your fields on a regular basis, and to harvest every real-life week or so to help support the community. Properly fertilizing your crops and feeding your livestock can help significantly speed up this process.
Revamped Hunger
You no longer lose hunger so quickly, but in turn there are greater penalties for being on the verge of starvation. When you are at low hunger (4/10 chops or below) you begin to Slowness and Weakness potion effects which increase to level II at 2/10 and level III at .5/10. In addition, all actions that require PP cost more based on how much hunger you are below 4/10, so make sure to stay well fed!
Custom Monsters
Zombie, skeleton, spider, creeper, enderman. It gets old, after a while, doesn't it? That's why we've devised over a hundred new monsters to be encountered! You'll encounter new and never-before-seen challenges. Make sure to be well-equipped and to bring friends!
Intro Lore
Overlord Rauric III of Braxia has called for all those wishing to take part in colonizing this new land to sign up and stake their claims, seek adventure, and start a new life. The far southwestern town of Roland's Field has been chosen as the rally point for all settlers. The main ships will leave within a month. Now all the settlers can do is prepare. The call has been made; new Lands, new Opportunities, a tip in Braxia’s favor - if in the colonist’s...
The Empiracle, otherwise known as Llandican Empire, has continued its decline, choosing to cede or unable to hold much of it's former holdings. With the loss of its Empiracle heart city to the invading Grand Guyrese Army during the "Great Dividing War", the Llandican Empire is attempting to hold together what is left with strict government rule. Losing much of its holdings, including the Gart’nun Isles to the Guyrese and Braxians, much of the Splinter Isles to the Independent City-State of Vaerdezzio and the newly-born Alliance of the Isles, and many economically vital ports, the Empire is struggling to reestablish its economic independence with a failing currency and few industrial centres. Many Llandican citizens are departing the lands of their fathers for more prosperous ground amid the growing powers.
The Mountain Men of the north have risen up, forming their own Confederacy of Mountain Clans through the chaos. This Nordic nation of the north is always on the look for more land to conquer but is also struggling to establish it's government on stable, less barbaric, principles. While all powers recognize it, say but for the Llandican Empire, very few have any influence within it's borders. Originating from Mountain Clans, the Confederacy is not to be dealt with lightly as the heartiness of their meets and the loyalty of their citizens has well been proven even among their sometimes barbaric practices.
Constantly at war with the Llandican Empire, the nation of Guyre has established a militaristic aristocracy to defend its borders and maintain its independence. The rebellion within the Llandican Empire was all the fuel the Guyrese needed to begin it's invasion. With such grace and speed, the Guyrese army quickly and efficiently launched its invasion of the Llandican Empire, sparking what many today recognize as the "Great Dividing War". This speed and timing allowed the Grand Guyrese Army time to lay siege to and capture the Capital of the Llandican Empire with little confrontation with the main Llandican Army massed along the borders and battling the rebelling Confederate Clans. As one last bout of vengeance, the Guyrese government has chosen to move the Capitol to the former capital of the Llandican Empire. Militaristic in nature, all Guyrese citizens are required to serve in the army for a minimum of five years and Guyre continues to be the dominant military power on land.
Knowing the Llandican Empire's oncoming collapse, it's most prosperous city, Vaerdezzio, and the once fearful Merchant Lords that rule it, have established the city as an independent city-state, seceding itself from the Empire. The Empire's armies, unable to quell the rise of the Merchant Lord's rebellion, hear from the fronts as the last hope for Llandican power has separated itself from Llandican control. Many of the nearby Splinter Isles have sided with Vaerdezzio out of fear of the newly formed Alliance of the Isles and the still powerful Empiracle Navy. Now the most influential merchant port in the whole of the Motherland, Vaerdezzio has much influence over the economic stability of it's neighbors and ensures that it's neighbors know this full well.
The Kingdom of Ombria has recently fallen to religious zealots in a great half-century long civil war and a new Theocratic government has risen, proclaiming itself the Kingdom and Eternal Dominion of Kastelm. Under the new government, a council made up of twenty-one priests has been formed to "serve the Divine Kastelm’s will". With this drastic change of government and civil war, Ombria has lost many if not all of its overseas assets. Zealous in passion and undoubtedly fervent in faith, the citizens of the Eternal Dominion are a strong force both politically and influentially. A Cleric's Proverb sums up the influence of the Ombrians quite well with, "all men know an Ombrian man, but few have ever met him".
Braxia, it's origins unknown, has risen from it's humble nomadic settlements to be a main leader on the world stage. It's booming economy and expansive overseas territories fund its large military force, making it a military power that even the militaristic Guyrese would not wish to reckon with on their own. When the Great Dividing War began Braxia mobilized it’s navy to claim the closest prize: The Gart’nun Islands to the east. In return for their aid, the Braxian Government offered the Gart’nun natives independence with protection by the Braxian military, a deal which the islanders readily accepted. A war nearly began between the Braxian/Gart’nun Rebel force and the Grand Guyrese Army when the two forces met along the main Gart’nun island. A war was quickly avoided but an air of rivalry and uneasiness has always lingered between the two power’s. As promised, the Braxian military aided the establishment of the Government of the Territory of Free Gart’nun. On account of this act of moral honesty, Braxia is now regarded with much respect and praise from the other Motherland powers, with the exception of Guyre.
Braxia is beginning to run out of frontiers and new lands, and, with the help of new technology, is setting its eyes to the west, over the harsh mountains and past the expansive desert to see just what is out there and how they can exploit it.
Kastelmism is based on the belief that one god named Kastelm, who is all powerful, desires for his disciples to follow his chosen path of love and charity. It was originally founded by the Prophet Arthur in the year 347, after Arthur claimed he’d been spoken to by Kastelm for a straight week. Over the years, the religious practices have become a bit more complicated with more sacred rituals than were originally in the church at the time of Arthur. This has caused a few offshoot branches of Kastelmism that strive to return to their roots and interpret the teachings in their own way. Their sacred book is known as The Words of Kastelm, based on the week-long conversation between Kastelm and Arthur, where Kastelm tells Arthur that he desires for all to be kind and charitable. And he expects his disciples to lead the people on this path, by word or by sword in some cases, depending on the particular branch of Kastelmism and how Kastelm’s Words were interpreted.
There are also various Eastern religions, however, all are considered by the Western world to be infidelical and are not practiced publicly.
General Rules:
2. Do not make offensive/racist remarks
3. Do not use profanities of any sort on the server or on our forums. In character, “Frak” may be used as a basic expletive.
4. While on the server, stay in character as much as possible
5. Do not advertise other servers
6. Do not troll/grief/spam etc.
7. Do not “Powergame”. This is where you force RP onto someone else, without giving them an opportunity to respond. An example would be “Chops off head” instead of “Swings axe at head”.
8. Do not landscar. This means don’t go making the map look less awesome. An example of what NOT to do would be digging random 1x2 tunnels in walls. Seriously man, not cool.
9. Do not “Metagame”. This means you should not use out-of-character (OOC) knowledge when playing as your character. An example would be having your guard character giving brewing advice to the local Herbalist. Even if OOC you know what ingredients make what potion, that doesn’t mean your character does.
10. Roleplay your character’s actions reasonably. No crazy running up walls, shooting fireballs, cloning yourself, turning into a werewolf or the like. You need Lore explanations for things like this. Currently the only supernatural/superhuman elements in the Lore are Mages and Drakes, which are carefully regulated. Don’t go pestering Admins or Loremasters about allowing your super-character. You may, however, reasonably suggest additional lore elements in the Suggestion Box.
11. When in the local chat channel, speak primarily in character. Any OOC things you must say should have double parentheses ((A)) put around them. There is also the OOC channel and private messaging to handle out of character conversations.
12. Not a rule, but HIGHLY SUGGESTED. Use proper spelling and grammar; in this thread, in your app, and on our site. This alone does a lot to shape how people perceive you. Roleplay is about communication, and you need to be able to do so effectively.
13. Do not use hacks, flymods, X-rays or the like.
14. Do not post anything of a sexual nature, or links to inappropriate sites. As a general rule of thumb, keep things PG-13 or below.
15. Do not use programs to scan our ports, or similar programs used in hacking. If you are found to be utilizing these programs, it can result in an immediate permaban.
2. All character vs. character (CvC) combat should begin with RP. During RP combat, you may describe your character’s actions and reactions, but not those of your opponent.
3. “The Law of CvC”: Be reasonable. Could you REALLY dodge 20 arrows in a row? Can you REALLY punch through iron armor?
4. Use private messages to communicate with whoever you’re fighting with to resolve any questions.
5. The use of actual, in-game weapons (PvP) may be used only if both players agree to it beforehand.
6. A character may only die if Their player assents, similar to them only being able to be injured if The Player assents. By this I mean that The defending player always gets to decide how Their character reacts to an attack, even a would-be fatal one, so they need to decide for Their character to die. But remember rule 3, here. BE REASONABLE. Don’t go saying your character came back from The dead, made a miraculous escape, dodged a thousand sword strokes or The like, just because you don’t want to lose your character. Man up and die. People will seriously respect you for it.
7. When you die due to a mob, falling, lava, etc., that isn’t an “RP-Death”. Your character didn’t REALLY die, unless you for some reason want to say they did (Want to change character?). Generally RP-Deaths only happen as a result of CvC.
8. Injuries. If you get injured in a CvC fight, or get injured by natural means and feel like it, RP IT! Play like you got injured, like you have a broken arm, like you’ve lost a lot of blood, etc. This isn’t really a rule, per se, so much as a guideline. As always, be reasonable. If you just CvC’d someone and barely won, you’ll be worn out (Injured) for your next fight.
2. Similarly, there are sections of our forums designated for suggestions and abuse reports. If you feel there is something wrong with the server, let us know.
3. If nothing else, feel free to send an Admin a PM on our forums. We’re all friendly and reasonable people, and will do our best to help resolve any problems.
Our custom class plugin, dubbed by the staff as the ‘Half-Class System’, allows for players to pick two classes from the list below. It would be recommended that they choose one combat and one economy class, but this is not a rule. The same class could be chosen twice, making that player a “Specialist” in that class, granting buffs and greater effectiveness than if the player only had half of that class. While this can grant you greater abilities, it reduces your overall versatility, making this something you really ought to think about.
All characters can break/place signs, torches, ladders, dirt, gravel, clay, sand and grass. All characters can use all shovels, wear leather armor, and use up to stone swords. All characters can craft nuggets into gold ingots and blocks, and vice-versa. All characters can craft signs, torches and bonemeal.
Everyone can make and break anything, however players with the appropriate classes do so more efficiently. This all stands on our “point” system. Each player gets 64 points a day to break and place blocks, and craft items with the associated point costs. Each recipe will consume 8 points. If you have the class skilled in making that recipe, you will use up 4 points. If you double-up on classes skilled in that recipe, it will cost 2 points. Each recipe will have multiple steps. The same goes for blocks broken and placed.
Players may start only with Combat and Economy classes. They may trade out classes during play and learn Scholar classes in-game.
Swordsman: Use any sword, use ringmail, iron and diamond armor. Specialist: Gain a permanent Strength I and Resistance II
Archer: Use all bows and up to ringmail armor. Specialist: Arrows shot have a straighter arc and deal extra damage. An arrow is only consumed every other shot.
Berserker: Use up to ringmail armor, use any axe as a weapon (Still can't break wood), permanent Regen II, Speed I. Specialist: Increases to Regen III and Speed II.
Rogue: Use up to iron swords. "/h" command to Hide, granting invisibility to mobs for two minutes, has a one-minute cooldown. Can "Backstab" - attack a player or entity facing away from you for triple damage. Specialist: Hide duration changes to three minutes, cooldown to 30 seconds, backstab to x4 damage.
-Economy-
Miner: Can break/place all stone-type blocks and use up to an iron pick. Can craft stone-type blocks. Specialist: When you break smoothstone, there is a small chance that you get an iron ore or piece of coal, can use diamond pick.
Woodsman: Can break/place all wood-type blocks, can craft wood-type blocks, can use up to iron axe, can craft sticks, can use bonemeal on trees. Specialist: Can use up to diamond axe. When you craft a log into planks, you get two extra planks.
Craftsman: Can craft all items except for alchemy items and diamond items. Can use up one of an appropriate material to return a corresponding amount to an item's durability. Specialist: Can craft diamond items, repairing adds more durability.
Farmer: Can use up to iron hoe, can place/break/plant/fertilize any plant. Specialist: Planted crops grow twice as fast, can use diamond hoe (SO FANCY)
-Scholar-
Alchemist: Can craft alchemy items. Specialist: Do top-level alchemy stuff.
More scholar classes will be discovered as the server goes on.
The Whitelisting Process: After you submit the application form below, one of our valiant whitelisters (Listed above) will review your application. It will be either A) Accepted, Deferred, or C) Rejected/Declined. If you’re accepted, you will be added to the whitelist and a staff member will help set your name when you log in. If you’re deferred (Being deferred on your first try is very normal) the Whitelister will tell you what you need to improve, and you will be allowed to reapply. Revised applications should be put in a new post so that our Whitelisters do not skip over them. If you are deferred, the same Whitelister is responsible for all resubmissions, so please don’t freak out if the next whitelister to review apps doesn’t review yours. If your application is Rejected, then you are not allowed to reapply. This is reserved for individuals who have had their application repeatedly deferred without progress, or for applications that we do not believe are salvageable. If accepted, you will be added to the whitelist within 24 hours.
Characters should:
Not be too powerful
Not start in a position of power (Unless given express permission)
Not use obvious cliches
Not originate in/on settlements besides those listed in the Location Lore. You could start in the wilds, I suppose, but please do not make up new towns.
Not use names from popular movies/books/TV shows
Not be villainous/evil, unless you get a Villain Application accepted. It is recommended that villainous characters begin non-villainous, and change during play, though this is not a requirement.
Be generally realistic
Below are three tests that you can consider taking to help you get a better feel for your character. Completion of these tests are not required. Just tools at your disposal.
Character Linking
We at Silver Gaming pride ourselves on making every new player feel accepted and the giving them the impression that they fit in. If you hop on over to our forums, you’ll find a subforum labeled “Character Linking.” The purpose of this is to post a thread asking for people to be related to or know your character before you apply so you’ll have at least some concrete background in the world, as well as someone to help you start out.
Character Information
Name: Sarai Hollis
Age: 15 (born in 1299 A.D.)
Class: Farmer
Physical description: Sarai is an average-sized individual with long, straight brown hair that slightly covers her eyes. Due to her having Waardenburg Syndrome, she has a white patch of hair on the left side of her head. She has large, bright green eyes that often tell what she truly thinks, despite her best efforts to hide her feelings. Her lips and nose look a bit small for her face. She is 5' 1'' (155 cm) tall and about 160 lbs (72 kg).
Screen capture of your skin: http://i60.tinypic.com/29psxht.jpg
Biography (Minimum 300 words. No clichés such as loved one being killed by robbers or the like.):
Sarai was born in Braxia in 1299, seven years before the end of the Braxian/Empiracle War finally ended. She grew up on a farm, with her parents doing their best to keep her from having to experience the terrors of the war. For the most part, she grew up oblivious to the fact that there was discord not all that far from their little home.
The only person that gave any hint to what was happening was a lovely man that was once some sort of teacher. He never actually said where he taught at, or why he no longer did so, but he said he would teach Sarai to read and write if they would allow him to stay there and give him food. Though most of the food at the time was going towards war efforts, they agreed that Sarai should have a better education than they did. The teacher, whose name was Adam Steele, began teaching Sarai around the age of five how to read words that he would write in the dirt, and as she got older, books that he actually brought with him from his unclear past. Sarai took to writing fairly quickly, more because she liked drawing in the dirt than anything in her younger years.
All she heard about from the war came from when Adam and her parents would go into town to sell the wheat (their main crop, though they also grew potatoes and a few other things) they harvested. They would come back chattering about the current state of the Empiracle, though Sarai had no idea what that was, and so far still doesn't. She never went with them into the town to sell their crops. But when her parents heard that a group would be sent out to settle new lands, they saw it was an opportunity for Sarai.
So Sarai applied to go out to help colonize the new lands. Most of her life was dull and boring, tending the cows and wheat, reading the same books over and over again, and having no friends because she was kept on the farm. This was the most exciting, and frightening, time of her life. Her parents decided not to go with her in case she finds out about what they have hidden from her, and Adam has decided to wait until the colony was fully settled.
What is your character’s main goal? (Motivation): To finally see the world and be helpful to someone other than her parents. (And to stop being bored all the time.)
Strengths (Both physical and personality): She is actually rather strong, though she may not seem like it, mostly from loading wheat onto her parent's cart. She is a caring individual and extremely inquisitive, though her constant desire for knowledge can make her a bit annoying at times.
Weaknesses (Balance out yours character's strengths with suitable weaknesses. Not knowing how to do something that is outside of your class is not a weakness. I.E. Not knowing how to use a bow as a miner.):
She has Waardenburg Syndrome, which causes moderate hearing loss in her left ear, where the white patch of hair is. She can still hear out of that ear, but if a monster came up to her from that side, it may be a little late for her to run. Due to knowing only her parents and Adam (and a choice few of her parent's friends on rare occasions), she isn't always that great at starting conversations with strangers and is fairly awkward in social situations.
In-Character-Responses (ICRs. For each scenario, write at least a paragraph describing entirely in-character how your character would respond to the situation. Your ICRs will be used to see how well you can RP. Please post them as if in IC chat. An example can be found after this form.)
Due a recent accident, you wander the dark quiet streets of the town with a broken ankle trying to make your way home:
“Ugh,” Sarai groans, trying her best to keep her weight off her ankle. She had stepped into a small hole in the road and tripped, managing to twist her ankle in the process. Each step felt like a knife jamming itself deep into the muscles in and around her ankle. At first she had desperately looked around for a wooden plank or a sturdy stick, but had found none. “I'm almost home,” she whispered, seeing the tiny cottage on the horizon. “Just keep on going.” On some stroke of luck, she made it home without getting mugged, but it would be a while before she could farm again. ((I honestly hope to someday roleplay someone getting mugged on a dark street now.))
In a tavern, a stranger threatens you to fight him/her:
“O-oh, no, no,” Sarai stammers, putting her hands up in front of her, palms toward the stranger. “I couldn't do that, I'm not a fighter, I don't like violence.” She steps backward to try to put some distance between her and this angry individual, but finds there is a table there. The table turns over and takes her with it. Her face turns red, she can just imagine how angry the tavern owner is going to be about this, and starting murmuring apologies as she shuts her eyes tight.
Your superior asks for a favour you would have problem doing:
Sarai bites her lip. This man is her superior, her parents had told her to always do as they say. But he was asking her to frame her friend, to make them out to be a traitor! A war raged inside her mind as he waited for her answer. Fear bit justice, courage slammed into anxiety. “No,” she said quietly, then louder, “No, I can't do that. I know you're my superior, but what you're asking is wrong, and I won't frame someone who is innocent.”
Lore Questions
List three causes for the fall of the Empiracle:
1) It lost its heart city to the Guyrese during the Great Dividing War.
2) The Alliance of Isles.
3) It no longer has many of its economically vital ports.
Conclusion: Between its lands being taken, this new alliance, and losing those ports... things aren't looking good for the Empiracle.
Who is proposing an expedition to the western lands?:
The Braxian Kingdom.
Where is the expedition to be launched from?:
If I'm reading correctly, the rally point is at Roland's Field, though they'll be leaving from Rocky Cape.
Questions or comments?: Mostly just hoping my lack of roleplaying over the past year or so hasn't made me too rusty. XD
Character Information
Name:
Tristan Whitefield
Age:
20
Class:
Swordsman/craftsman
Physical description:
Tristan is a somewhat scrawny, thin average height young man. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He has a very serious demeanor usually. His facial features are very smooth and he is clean shaven. He keeps his face well groomed.Screen capture of your skin: Biography (Minimum 300 words. No clichés such as loved one being killed by robbers or the like.):
“*Scrawled in a Journal*
My Name is Tristan Whitefield. I am the son of Robert and Sarah Whitefield. I am writing this for the scholars who may come later in the future who desire to know the lives of us living now. I know how valuable such accounts can be. I grew up in a very wealthy family. We lived in the Capitol of Braxia. My father is still living there. My father and my mother both worked for the Braxian Academic Enclave, a private community of Scholars and Scientists, dedicated to bringing the light of knowledge upon the face of the planet.
They both started me along this path when I was very young. I had a natural aptitude for learning, and I quickly managed to take up much of what they taught me. Whether it was mathematics or history. My father also taught me some fencing, as he saw that it was a gentlemen’s sport. My parents cared for me as well as act as some of my private instructors. It all changed though during the winter after my seventh birthday. My mother Sarah left, and to this day I am unsure why.
I can say that there was a noticeable change in my father. He became much more reclusive and strict. He seemed to stop loving me as his son, and saw me more as another tool to be used. He started to have less time for me as well, so he hired a select group of tutors and mentors to teach me my academics and swordplay. I was unable to leave the house too, for fear that the other children my age would interfere with my studies. When we did have some time together, he would test me on all that I had learned, and when I got something wrong, he would beat me.
After a year of this, I asked him, “Father, do you love me anymore? And why can’t I play with the other children outside?” He responded in a most calm manner to this inquiry, as if he had had a lot of time to think about the answer. “Love is useless boy. It just gets in the way of work. You don’t need it. And you shouldn’t need to socialize with those simpletons. True value is in intelligence. Only people with that deserve your respect or time. I’ll teach that to you soon enough, then you can truly reach your potential.” And that he did. I soon saw how pointless love and friendship were. They were just distractions, meant to draw ones attention from what is truly important. And I saw how foolish much of the world really was.
A few years passed, and I left my luxurious home to go to a town that is known as Roland’s Field. There is a group of settlers there, and they are heading to a new land to colonize. I feel that this is what I was meant for. I am going to this new land for the Braxian Academic Enclave to record what happens, and what we find so that we may pass it on to future generations.”
What is your character’s main goal? (Motivation):
He wishes to keep an account of everything and make his way into history.
Strengths (Both physical and personality):
Tristan is an academic genius. He is proficient in many fields such as history, archaeology and anthropology, mathematics, language arts and some sciences. He is also a very proficient fencer.
Weaknesses (Balance out yours character's strengths with suitable weaknesses. Not knowing how to do something that is outside of your class is not a weakness. I.E. Not knowing how to use a bow as a miner.):
Tristan has absolutely no social skills. He does not know how to make friends, and he feels that friendship and love are next to useless. Only slightly above mosquitoes. He is tactlessly blunt and can come across as quite rude. He is also very used to living in a comfortable home. He is also very afraid of being wrong, as a result of his father beating him as a child. He also seems rather aloof at times, especially if he feels if you are less-intelligent than he is. And though he is a proficient fencer, he has no real combat experience
Due a recent accident, you wander the dark quiet streets of the town with a broken ankle trying to make your way home:
Tristan bit back a curse behind his teeth as he hobbled along the dark road. “Who leaves their stairs in such disrepair? I’ll have to have a few words with that librarian,” he muttered to himself while limping down the road. “I’ll probably have to get a doctor to look at my ankle. I can’t walk very well in these conditions.”
“Then I suppose that means you can’t run away very well either,” a voice called from a nearby alleyway. Tristan looked at the direction of the voice as a man stepped forward wielding a large rusty dagger. The man’s face was dirty and unkempt, and he looked like he was ready for a fight. “I want all your coin and jewelry, and you won’t be hurt. Understand pal?”
Tristan eyed the man for a moment and sighed loudly. “I do not have time for this. If you want coin, get it the way everyone else does.” He started to hobble away when he heard footsteps coming towards him. He reached down into his bag for a large tome he was borrowing from the Library.
The man put his hand on Tristan’s shoulder. “That was the wrong answer friend. Now you are going to have to pay wit-.” The man was quickly cut off by a book landing in his face. He staggered back and regained his wits in time to hear his intended victim shouting for the guards. He looked at the man and pointed an angry finger. “You haven’t seen the end of me pal. Next time you walk down here you are a dead man!” He turned and fled.
Tristan looked down at his book. “Great. Now I have to pay for that too.” He used the end of his sleeve to try to wipe off a few drops of blood on the cover. As he did so he almost completely forgot about his leg and tripped and landed on his face after his first step. Right as the guards arrived.
In a tavern, a stranger threatens you to fight him/her:
Tristan sat in the back corner of a tavern, away from all of the usual commotion and patrons, with a cup of water and a piece of warm bread, his face buried in a book. He didn’t notice the man approach, and if he had, he wouldn’t have paid him any attention. He did take notice of the man once the book was wrenched from his grasp and flung across the room.
“Hey buddy,” the man, who was obviously drunk slurred. “I, I-I’m going to fight, y-you.” He drunkenly pointed towards the bar, while trying to put his arm around Tristan’s shoulder in a friendly manner. “See my friend *hic* Tom over there? He, he says I, I can’t *hic* beat a l-little guy like y-*hic* you in a fight. I-I’m not one fo-for losing *hic*.”
Tristan slapped the man’s hand away before his arm went around his shoulder. “I don’t have time for fighting. I was doing some research, which, by the way, you interrupted. So, now if you will excuse me. . .” Tristan stood up and tried to shove his way past the man so that he may recover his reading material. He was not expecting a fist to be in his path, and the next thing he knew, he was on his back, his nose bleeding, the world spinning, and a voice saying: “See *hic* Tom? I-I told you I could *hic* take him.”
Your superior asks for a favour you would have problem doing:
Tristan walked into his superior’s office very slowly. A messenger had told Tristan that he was needed for something special. He sat down in front of his superior quietly and waited to be spoken too. His boss turned around and smiled a crooked smile before speaking.
“Tristan, you saw what happened in the market yesterday right? That nasty business with Harry?” He chuckled a bit when Tristan nodded his head in slight confusion. “And then you also know my involvement right?” Tristan once again nodded his head. “And you wrote everything in that little journal of yours right?” Tristan nodded a third time, starting to see where this was going. “Well I need you to give me that journal or burn it. It has some incriminating evidence that can damage my reputation if that information is ever released to the public. I can’t have that happen.” He stood and waited for Tristan’s response.
“I can’t do that sir. This journal is meant to be an account for future generations. I will not permit such a crime as you are suggesting. And besides,” Tristan stood up. “If you were foolish enough to be involved in such affairs in the first place, it is only deserving of one so lowly to face the proper punishment.” He turned and left the room, despite the protests of his Superior.
Vistasin:
Your Lore and OOC sections were almost perfect; the only problem I had was that you weren't very specific with one of the lore questions. But I'm sure you understand, though you should take another look. I thought you could've added a little more depth in your backstory, but I'm assuming it was on purpose to make Sarai an average farmer. Your ICR's weren't the most detailed either, but it fully expressed your character's personality and what she'd do in those situations. So, I think the first application review was a success! Welcome to The Wayward Ones by Silver Gaming! Catch up on the latest news on http://silvergaming.enjin.com ! Hope to see you at the launch!
Tankinator:
All your lore questions were wrong! Rejected! ... Nah, the lore and OOC sections were perfect. Your biography and ICRs also checked in well. Look forward to RPing with you again! Hopefully we won't have so much conflict this time around.
So far, we're 2/2 on the applications!
Name: Serra Oakley
Age: 16
Class: Rogue/Craftsmen
Physical description: Serra is short for her age, standing around 5 and half feet tall. She has curly auburn hair that she keeps separated and braided. She has a tan complexion with a splash of freckles over her body. She wears a light green dress that's embroidered across the bottom of the skirt. She wears a yellow corset over the top, and the sleeves are loose around her arms.
Screen capture of your skin: http://i.imgur.com/VhLJrkm.png
Biography (Minimum 300 words. No clichés such as loved one being killed by robbers or the like.): Serra Oakley was born to Hershel and Emma Oakley, a quaint couple who married very young but have been together ever since. While Hershel did his mandatory time in the army, Emma cheated on and conceived Serra with another man. Hershel and Serra don't know about this knowledge till this day. Serra and her family lived in Cape Town. When the parties came that was moving west, Hershel decided to take his family west and support the country with his blacksmith skills. As the years went on, Serra grew up to be a sickly child, much unlike her older brother, who grew up very healthy and strong.
Because of Hershel's Blacksmith skills, and lack of a shop, her father decided to have Serra and her brother trained in the ways of crafting. The two work together with their father to produce items to sell.
At a very young age, Serra discovered her intense love for sweets, and all things candied. Her parents however knew how bad eating sweets all the time would be, and stopped giving her money right away. Serra learned how to trick people into thinking she was an orphan that tagged along with the group of settlers. She would dust herself down with dirt and wait near the campfires, begging for gold, and various other things that she could sell. The next morning, she would go down to the old woman's tent and pick up her sweets. It was a very smart idea for someone her age.
But as she grew up, Serra began to notice that it wasn't only sweets that she wanted. She started noticing better things than sweets, like blades and various different armors. It wasn't until one faithful night that Serra discovered the true extent of her greed. She had noticed a very fat, and rich man fall down in the street. It was dark, and not a soul was around, nay for her. Approaching slowly, She helped the man up while stealthily slipping his coin purse into her pocket. The man had thanked her and wobbled along. Serra didn't feel an ounce of guilt. Serra used the coins to begin training under a Rogue, learning the different ways she could slip some coins into her own hand.
What is your character’s main goal? (Motivation): Serra is very greedy, and wants to become filthy rich by any means necessary. (But not working ;3)
Strengths (Both physical and personality): Serra is sly, very sneaky, and knows how to play someone. She also knows how to hide very well, and is very charismatic.
Weaknesses: Serra is physically weak, and never seems to get enough sleep. She was a very sick child, constantly getting colds and flus.
In-Character-Responses (ICRs. For each scenario, write at least a paragraph describing entirely in-character how your character would respond to the situation. Your ICRs will be used to see how well you can RP. Please post them as if in IC chat. An example can be found after this form.)
Due a recent accident, you wander the dark quiet streets of the town with a broken ankle trying to make your way home:
Serra bit her lip and groaned. Looking down at her dark purple and swollen ankle she silently cursed herself for her latest endeavor. She had to try to steal a purse of a very agile man, and had ended up slipping off a roof. She laughed to herself as she realized how crazy that sounded. She limped along the side of a building, using it to support her weight. She kept an eye out for the man, or a guard.
In a tavern, a stranger threatens you to fight him/her:
Walking up behind a random stranger, Serra stealthily slit the strap holding the man's coin purse. As she turned away, the man grabbed for his money. He spotted her slinking away and grabbed her arm. "Did ye steal me coin purse? Aye, lass?" He asked, his accent nearly cloaking his words. Serra shook her head furiously and put on her prettiest eyes. "No, sir. Why would I do such a thing?" Batting her eyelashes, she pulled her arm out of his grip. Leaning close she whispered, "Between you and me, I think that guy over there did it." She pointed to someone completely random before slipping out of the tavern.
Your superior asks for a favor you would have problem doing:
Serra snored softly as she was shook awake by her brother. "Get up, it's time for your shift down in the shop." Serra groaned and coughed. "I can't, I feel terribly sick. Is there any way you could cover for me, dear brother?" Her brother gave her a look before promptly pulling her out of bed. "Alright, fine fine!" Serra muttered, angrily. Getting dressed into her uniform, she headed downstairs and convinced people to buy her father's wares.
Age: 34
Class: Berserker/Woodsman
Physical description:
5’9” Black hair, dark hazel eyes. Muscular build with a beard that gets all the ladies squealin’.
Screen capture of your skin:
Biography (Minimum 300 words. No clichés such as loved one being killed by robbers or the like.):
Everyone always talks about that moment… you know the one you have right before you die, where your life flashes before your eyes?
Guess that means this is my lucky day… or unlucky, depending entirely upon your mentality.
Anyways there I was an infant. Am I really even remembering this or is my mind trying to grant me some sort of peaceful death? There is my father, fainted and out cold on the floor, just like the story had always been told. The town physician wrapped me in a blanket and passed me to my mother. Great big tears filled her eyes; I knew how hard she had been trying to conceive me.
“Welcome to the world, baby boy. What a wonderful life you will have, my precious Laek.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now I am seven. A notion which nearly has me convinced that this is no flashback, and I am in fact in Hell. From my seat inside the window, I watch with envy as the other children run around and play on a bright spring afternoon.
From behind his desk, my father lowers his gaze upon me, eyes piercing from just above the rim of his thick bifocals
“Son, best get back to your studies.” He said as he set a piece of parchment down. I however responded with a groan as I slouched back into my chair, “None of the other parents make their kids study.”
Father remained calm even still as he signed away on another paper… he had a knack for staying calm. “Yes well you know we are too far out to get any formal education. You are lucky we can afford the tutoring we are able to give you. Resources are scares all around, with this bloody war.”
The year is now 1294. And on this particular rainy twilight, I am but a month past the age of 14. Gone are the smiles. Gone is the happiness that was once our quaint little town. My parents stood in front of me, and I stared at them. By now I stood nearly as tall as mother, though father still dwarfed me. She took one step forward, and pulling me in she hugged me close. I didn’ t know what to say… I should be the one comforting her, but instead she is trying to comfort me.
“Promise me something, Laek.” She muttered into my ear, it barely audible through the rain and the sobs, “Promise me you will be someone, someday.”
It would be years before those words had true meaning to me, but in that moment I would have promised the world. I remained in her embrace for a moment longer before she let go, giving me one kiss on the forehead.
My father walked up to me next. There in the cold dark of the morning we looked into each other’s eyes, a look that haunts me in the best way possible. He knows me so well, and it was as if everything he had to give me, all the legacies a father could leave his son, they were all pouring into me with that look.
Finally after what seemed like forever he reached up and placed a hand on my shoulder, turning me around. He stepped close, hand gripping me tight, and pointed. There from beyond the trees were the first rays of sunlight basking over our humble home. I couldn’t see his face, but I was sure he was smiling as he said, “There will always be another sunrise, son my son.”
The next bit went by in a blur. Place to place he traveled with various refugees from his home. The war between Braxia and the Empirical had robbed him of all he had ever known, and his parents along with several other of the adults had stayed behind to assist the war efforts.
And so there he was, just another part of a sea of faces. I knew I had an aunt somewhere along the southern coast, but I never really bothered to find out where. It was just a few years after I lost my home that I left the company of those I had grown up around. Off I went, taking odd jobs here and there, making due where I could.
All the time I spent in a local militia flashed by me. I had joined in hopes that I could find out something about my parents, about what happened that night. I fought and I bled but got no answers, and eventually I deserted that cause.
By the time the war drew to a close I had settled into working at a mill. In fact, I think I am there right now. On the floor… dying from a head wound somehow. And from behind my eyelids there is my mother’s sad sad face, her promise echoing repeatedly. She places her hand on my cheek and smiles. Then she slaps me. And she slaps me again. Aaaand she waylays my face for a third time as I gasp for breath, rushing back to reality. The crowd around me breathes a sigh of relief and boss steps back with a grin, “See? Nuthin’ a good ol’ slap can’t fix!”
I sigh and stare down at my hands, and a dark part of me half wishes it had really all been over. Her words are always haunting me… maybe because I don’t even know who I am. My mind wanders to the chatter I heard in the tavern a fortnight ago…. About that call for people to colonize a new land. What was the name of that place? Roland’s Basin? No… that town got wrecked…. Field! Roland’s Field!
One of my lovely coworkers then lets out a rather obnoxious fart right next to my face which sets the entire mill laughing. I sighed through the reeking stench… my mind is set, I deserve so much better than this.
What is your character’s main goal? (Motivation): To simply belong somewhere. To find his place in the world, carpe diem.
Strengths (Both physical and personality):
Smart and thoughtful, Laek’s biggest strength is his ability to outsmart; often resorting to physical altercations only after all other options are exhausted. Years of being on the move however have toned him into decent physical condition.
Weaknesses (Balance out yours character's strengths with suitable weaknesses. Not knowing how to do something that is outside of your class is not a weakness. I.E. Not knowing how to use a bow as a miner.):
His education is somewhat lacking, as it pretty much ended at the age of 14, he relies on streetsmarts and survival skills to make up for this.
While he has experience with the militia, and has been in a few brawls himself, he lacks any sort of formal training in combat, leaving his rather unorthodox combat methods something to occasionally be made fun of.
Laek didn’t need to check his pockets, he knew already he didn’t have the money to afford a room at the inn tonight. Instead he sets his eyes on a dimly lit bridge on the outskirts of town. Hoping down the bank he bit his lip to prevent crying out in pain.
“Damn it, Laek.” He thought to himself as he positioned himself directly under the bridge and slid to the ground, promising himself to never take work in the Melon Farms again. Looking at the cold stream of water before him, he aguishly stretched his leg out, submerging it in the water. The cold should help with the swelling at least, perhaps come the morning he could fashion a stint for it.
In a tavern, a stranger threatens you to fight him/her:
Not even Laek was sure of the words that he was speaking… all he was trying to do was borrow time. The inebriated man clearly was not open to logic, and it seemed that Laek himself was the target of tonight’s rampage. Spotting the perfect location he moved to it, the opposite side of the table. Place his hands atop of it Laek gave the guy one last chance to stand down. One vulgar insult about his unborn children later, and Laek was through playing the game.
Betting on the man’s inability to maintain balance, the fight was over nearly as soon as it began, seeing as how Laek grabbed the table and thrust upwards with all his might, bringing a slew of half empty mugs AND a table down upon the miserable drunk. Of course everyone grew silent but Laek was not one to stick around. With a hop and a skip he was out the door and hastily walking away… there was no work in this town anyways.
Your superior asks for a favor you would have problem doing:
“Look here Laek,” Tiz’rav began as he held out a satchel, “All you have to do is place this somewhere in the house and leave. Do that and I will double your pay for the day.”
Laek glanced down into the bag and back up at Tiz’rav, “You… really expect me to do this? This is just… just morbid!”
Tiz’rav looked annoyed as he took a step back, “It is harmless!”
“It is a severed head!” Exclaimed Laek as he pointed to the bag, “And the man’s hair is BLUE! Is that even a natural color?!”
“Alright, change of plans, do it or you can find a new Priest to serve as bodyguard for.”
Laek stood up, waving his hand, “Buzz off, I quit.” He walks to the door and stops… after a moment he turns around a small twinkle in his eye, “You really don’t think that this man…. This Olly P. Coves… do you think he won’t find it?”
Tiz’rav grinned back, “Trust me, he has not found them all yet…. Not in the least.”

Biography:
Edmond was born to the Dumas Family; a noble family in the city-state of Vaerdezzio. His father, Maximillian Dumas was a prosecutor working for the 3 Courts, as well as a high-profile merchant. His mother, Heloise Dumas nee Alba was a socialite who mingled with the other ladies. When Edmond was five, Heloise gave birth to another son, whom she named Sebastian.
Edmond’s childhood was somewhat Victorian: safe and splendorous, but constrained and controlled. He was never allowed off the compound of the family estate, and he frequently wondered about the outside, and more importantly, the unrest between and Vaerdezzio As far as he was concerned, he knew nothing, only to be a good boy and let himself become an educated, respectable member of society fit to represent the Dumas Family and be married to whatever girl they picked. Any sign of disobedience was never tolerated, and for his part Edmond had to shoulder more expectations due to being the eldest child in his family. His education was the top quality, but economics and ciphers bored him to tears. It wasn’t long before he decided to start skipping lessons and faking illness. This would be the first of many acts of rebellion.
When he was twelve, Edmond snuck out of the estate while his parents were away and onto the streets of Vaerdezzio. Amazed by what he saw, he wandered around, only to have his handkerchief stolen by a boy his age. Furious, Edmond gave chase, only to run into another problem when he ran into an alley. Inside were a few lurking reprobates; who at the sight of Edmond in his fancy clothes decided to mug him. Edmond, however showed no fear, and dared them to “do their worst.” Just when it seemed like Edmond would meet a regretless end at the hands of the unknown he so wanted to see, the thief from earlier arrived, threw a handful of horse dung into one of the muggers’ faces, and helped Edmond escape. The thief introduced himself as Felonius, and Edmond likewise introduced himself. Felonius returned the stolen handkerchief, and for the first time, Edmond had a friend. Later, Edmond returned to his estate, and managed to slip into a fresh set of clothes to divert any suspicion. Edmond would continue sneaking out of the house to meet with Felonius, and the two of them would have many misadventures in the streets; learning how to fight, pick pockets, and lockpick, and even dress and talk like a commoner.
All of that came to a bitter and regretful end when Edmond was eighteen. He and Felonius had been out drinking when suddenly a captain burst into the bar announcing their intent to arrest Felonius for murder. Shocked, Edmond vehemently defended his friend, even going as far as to challenge the guard to a fight. Edmond and Felonius fought to the bitter end, but they were both badly beaten and arrested. The charges of resisting arrest were added, making Felonius’ case worse. As for Edmond, he had a criminal record for the first time. His parents were utterly furious, telling him he’d smeared the family name and that he no longer had a future, having so carelessly thrown it away. All Edmond cared about though, was what was going to happen to Felonius. His father informed Edmond that he would be the one prosecuting his friend, and gave him an ultimatum: Either he could be the good son and redeem himself by joining Vaerdezzio’s Militia, or he would watch Felonius die, as well as be charged for both assaulting a guard as well as being an accessory to murder for trying to help Felonius get away, even though he had nothing to do with it. His father told Edmond he could save his friend if he chose the former. Unwilling to sacrifice his friend, Edmond decided to enlist.
However, this proved to be for naught, as his father prosecuted Felonius to the maximum extent of Vaerdezzio Law for murder. He was found guilty, set to be executed in a year, and a distraught Edmond still had to go to serve in the army. Faced with no other option, and no longer finding anything worth staying for in his home or the whole of Vaerdezzio, Edmond decided to leave the City-State forever before he would be forcibly molded by the army into the "perfect son." He stole money from his father, snuck out of the estate yet again; although with Sebastian’s help this time, who sympathized with his feelings, bought a set of Commoner Clothes to pass as one, and smuggled himself out of the city. For the better part of half a year, Edmond tried looking for a place to settle down, but he couldn’t find anywhere, and he was now a deserter; returning home meant certain condemnation. Afraid of being captured and haunted by his old life, Edmond travelled using the alias “Edmond Morell.” As it happens, he was travelling the streets of Braxia when he saw a poster advertising Robert Ewarding’s expedition. Believing he could find a home there and leave his old life behind once and for all, Edmond set out to join and remove himself from all the turmoil in his life, as well as prove to himself that he can be his own man.
Main Goal: To reach the colonies, settle down, and leave his old life behind and resolve his self-doubts.

In-Character-Responses:
Due a recent accident, you wander the dark quiet streets of the town with a broken ankle trying to make your way home:
Edmond silently swore. Of all the times to break his ankle… Why didn’t he see that rotten rung in that ladder as he descended from that rooftop? Not worth a view of the night sky… However, his previous experiences doing what Felonius called “parkouring” had helped him find his way around the town better, and therefore where the local clinic was. Wincing at the pain and almost crying at the thought of having to limp all the way over there, he resolved never to parkour ever again, even if it meant he’d never see such a spectacular view again in his life.
In a tavern, a stranger threatens you to fight him/her:
“Fight me you cully! I’ll feed you your teeth!”
Edmond reluctantly turned in the direction of the voice; seeing an angry brute of a man looking as though he would knock Edmond’s head off with a single punch. He was drunk, no doubt about that on account of the whiskey bottle in his hands. He was angry; the look on his face said it all. And he was demanding a fistfight for no apparent reason whatsoever. There was only one thing to do.
“My god, what’s that over there?!” Edmond called out loudly.
The drunkard turned, and Edmond took his chance. He hauled **** out of the bar.
Your superior asks for a favor you would have problem doing:
Edmond’s eyes widened at the load of hay he was being asked to carry. “I… don’t know if I can carry that.”
His boss sniffed disapprovingly. “Y’know, back in my day, men your age did what they were told and liked it!” He sneered. “Unless of course you’re just some nancy rich-boy who’s never worked a day in his life!”
Edmond’s eyes narrowed slightly; did he somehow know? No, he told himself. No, that was impossible. Even so, his boss was right… Half-right anyways. Now that his cover was at stake, he decided it would be prudent to just do as he was told.
“Fine… I’ll do it.” Edmond grumbled.
“I said do it and like it!” The boss snapped, as Edmond heaved the hay. He was sure his back would be killing him when he was done, but it’d be better than having his cover blown.

Character Information
Name: Bennuck Croft
Age: 21
Class: Farmer/Woodsman
Physical description: Auburn hair that is no longer than his chin, parted on his right-hand side. He wears a simple tunic and work pants, for whenever he needs to work of course. He has a bit more muscular than average build, stands at 5'7", and weighs in at about 145 pounds. Bennuck has tan skin, and large eyes on his round face.
Screen capture of your skin:
Biography (Minimum 300 words. No clichés such as loved one being killed by robbers or the like.):
Bennuck Croft was born into the kingdom of Braxia. His mother always had work as a miner, so he was hardly used to spending time with her. Instead he grew up more with his dad, and together they enjoyed the simple things in life. He had been a very curious boy, always watching and observing. However he was also shy, so he hardly spoke much to anyone he wasn't close enough with.
When Bennuck was 7, he began showing signs of interest in nature. He was fascinated with how things could be planted and grown, as well as with animals. There were many living things, which didn't talk or think, yet he found himself listening to their non-existent voices. He wasn't like the other boys who grew up around him, who all loved to play with stick-swords, and roughhouse.
In fact, by the age of 15, he still didn't know a lick of fighting or defense. He chose to continue his path of peace, working as a farmhand. He also became a vegetarian, outright refusing to eat anything that was meat. He didn't want to harm nature, seeing as it never harmed him. The only natural thing he wasn't comfortable with, was water, seeing as he never learned how to swim.
Once he turned 20, he was intrigued by the concept of building with wood. A tree would generously sacrifice itself for the use of it's lumber. From there it could be constructed into many things, such as a house or building of some sort. It was from there that Bennuck decided that he would use building, as well as farming as a career choice.
Now 21, and having heard of there being new land to colonize, Bennuck signed up to take part in the new opportunity. New land meant new buildings were to be made, as well as farms to feed the colonists. He saw this as a golden chance to start his own life, and hopefully it would be good.
What is your character’s main goal? (Motivation): To develop a good life. His ambitions are to have his own farm, and live in a safe, large community where his skills are needed.
Strengths (Both physical and personality): Bennuck is a tad muscular from his farm work, and even a bit of his building experience. He also knows how to move quickly if need be. As for personality, he is very understanding, curious, and is always observing.
Weaknesses (Balance out yours character's strengths with suitable weaknesses. Not knowing how to do something that is outside of your class is not a weakness. I.E. Not knowing how to use a bow as a miner.): Bennuck does not know how to fight or defend himself in the slightest, isn't the least bit stealthy, and can't swim, barely managing to even float. For personality, he keeps to himself and is quiet due to shyness, not bothering to make friends, or trust many people.
In-Character-Responses (ICRs. For each scenario, write at least a paragraph describing entirely in-character how your character would respond to the situation. Your ICRs will be used to see how well you can RP. Please post them as if in IC chat. An example can be found after this form.)
Due a recent accident, you wander the dark quiet streets of the town with a broken ankle trying to make your way home: Bennuck bit his lip to keep silent, slowly making his way through the town. His ankle was broken from tripping on a broken cobblestone path, and he was trying to get home to rest. He hobbled along, using a large stick as a makeshift cane, wincing every so often when he applied too much pressure to his ankle. He paused to let out a shaky sigh, knowing he wouldn't get home for quite some time. He then continued on his way, now watching his steps very carefully.
In a tavern, a stranger threatens you to fight him/her: He stared down at his glass, ignoring the harsh words of the stranger threatening him. He didn't do anything to set him off, so he assumed the man had too much to drink. Watching him from the corner of his eye, he saw the man getting angrier. Bennuck quickly stood up and left, not wanting to get into a fight and lose. He then went for a stroll, to avoid running into the man again that night.
Your superior asks for a favour you would have problem doing: The note was very clear in what it wanted done. A rather wealthy woman wanted Bennuck to sell his farm animals to the local butcher, which would fetch a high price. Naturally he refused, and wrote her back, making it obvious that his animals were not for sale. Especially to someone who would kill them. He continued about his day, knowing he made the right decision.

Madame_Sukii:
It wasn't a bad application, per se. However, there were some mistakes that I couldn't overlook. The first big problem is that you didn't include a skin. I know you might be anxious for the new server, but you should wait until you have your skin at the very least. That was the first and biggest problem I saw, but I'll go over a few more.
- She mostly tricked people so she can buy sweets, but as she got older, she started to eye bigger, and better things. I'm not too sure what you meant by this. She is still only ten. Also, I think you could get away with her being 12, 13 or 14. She seems a /little/ too mature for her age, considering the circumstances.
- Who is proposing an expedition to the western lands? Braxia is running out of lands to discover and conquer, and have decided to move west. I think you might've misunderstood the question. It was /who/, not why.
-Perhaps Craftsman/Rogue will fit your character more? Not sure why she'd be a miner.
- Again, the ICRs seem to make your character a little too mature to be 10 years old. I think it'd be for the best if you make her a little bit older.
Fix those up and you'll be golden! Don't be afraid to contact me via Skype or PM if you ever need any help. Good luck!
Double-Defer
Bearblock:
A fair warning, please don't use hashtags or casual chat lingos on the app. Some of these answers were unacceptable and almost seemed like you were trolling. I did not appreciate some of the humor and attitude you had when answering these questions, and I'm sure none of the other staff do, either.
- Decent archer You should explain more as to how he was able to obtain the skills. Stuff like archery isn't developed overnight, you know.
- Speaking about the backstory, you should flesh out your character more. All I got from the biography was your character's skills and that he liked nobility. We need to know more of your personality and traits. Right now, he seems all too one-sided.
- None of your weaknesses are actual weaknesses. Not being as fit as a soldier or a laborer should be a given, considering you lived your life without much physical hardships. Being overly ambitious isn't much of a weakness either. We need a real weakness that would balance out your otherwise OP character. Also, I never got the notion that he'd lose temper quickly from your biography.
- The rulers of the Braxian thingy That does /not/ work.
- ur mum #rekt No.
- When? Idfk when you feel like it. Don't use it in crucial RP situations I guess because that would mess up immersion. These are all grounds for double-defer or even a rejection. Please be serious with your answers.
Fix those up, and you'll be good to go! If you need any help, contact me via Skype or PM. Good luck!

Name:
Edward "Eddie" Collins
Age:
28
Class:
Berserker-Woodsman
Physical description:
About 6'0'' (1.83 meters), lean muscle, curly brown hair, green eyes, missing top left front tooth, always wears a bowler hat. Wears a scarlet coat over a black undershirt with a white ascot draped around his neck along with brown, baggy pants and hiking boots in casual situations. Wears a black vest and white dress shirt when practicing law.
Screen capture of your skin:
Biography (Minimum 300 words. No clichés such as loved one being killed by robbers or the like.):
Eddie was born in a small cabin just outside of the Braxian capital. His mother and father were kind yet fair guardians, raising him with the morals that would instill him with the sense of justice that would drive him later in life. When he was five, Eddie's younger sister was born. Eddie adored his younger sister, playing with her at every opportunity. Eddie's father owned a lumber mill, and Eddie was trained from a young age to take over for his father. Eddie, though, went into town with his father one day and saw a young man being beaten by local thugs, with the guard nearby jingling a few coins in his hand and smirking. Eddie, furious that such a thing would be allowed to happen, asked the local bookkeeper what career he should go into should he want to actually protect the innocent. The man suggested going into practicing law, and young Eddie had decided what he was going to do; not only bring those who deserved it to justice, but force the guard to perform their jobs with far more regulations. From that day on, Eddie studied rigorously, eventually making his way to higher education and graduating with flying colors. He took a relatively well-paying job as a prosecutor in a smaller district of the capital, living in a small apartment with the bare minimum requirements for human inheritance. At this job, he relished the opportunity to put criminals away, but despised when he was forced to prosecute cases in which he believed the defendant innocent. His boss was a kind man, but a pushover, and allowed the more powerful of governmental officials to push him around. Eddie would have none of this, and attempted once to stand up to said officials. He was fired. Undeterred, Eddie began looking for new places to go, places where there were no major officials to be afraid of, a place where he could start his own law firm. When he heard of the opportunity to explore the frontier and start anew, he thought it a perfect way to re-try his crusade for justice. He bode farewell to his mother, father and sister and set out with little more than his law training and the clothes on his back to get him started. (Very sorry for low quality of bio, writing these is not my forte.)
What is your character’s main goal? (Motivation):
To end corruption and bring justice for the innocent.
Strengths (Both physical and personality):
Can wield an axe fairly well due to years of working with his father, kind, strong sense of justice, incredibly intelligent when it comes to law, able to problem solve, observant, optimistic
Weaknesses (Balance out yours character's strengths with suitable weaknesses. Not knowing how to do something that is outside of your class is not a weakness. I.E. Not knowing how to use a bow as a miner.):
Outside of the courtroom, Eddie is a bit of a scatterbrain, hotheaded, distrusts authority, often oblivious, could even be considered stupid when it comes to things outside of law. An idiot savant, if you will.
"Goshdang pit with its goshdang mud and goshdang dress shoes, goshdang it...ow...ow...ow..." Eddie mutters as he limps his way back to his house, wincing with every other step. "Why d'they gotta make these roads dirt, anyways? Not like nobody uses 'em...ow...ow....ow..." he continues to say, the road only dimly lit by the small match he is clutching and failing to light a cigar he had saved for winning today's case. "Gah...just ups and downs, today is..." Eddie rolls his eyes and pockets the cigar, the match having burned out. "Finally...home sweet home," he sighs with relief, swinging open his heavy oaken door. Eddie shuffles to his small feather bed and flops onto it heavily. Another case won by the wonderful Eddie Collins...heh. It'd be nice to come home to a warm house with a warm meal...nah...you're thinking too much, Eddie. You got your whole life ahead of you. Saving the world first, romance second. He rolls quietly onto his side, and without even taking his work clothes off, drifts into a dreamless sleep.
In a tavern, a stranger threatens you to fight him/her:
Eddie sighs, setting down his beverage. "Look, fella. This is my time of day t'just...relax. Unwind. Go zen. You gettin' this?" The swaying man nods slightly. "Now, what I want you to see here is-" Eddie cuts himself off by driving his fist into the other bar patron's nose. He hisses in pain, flapping his hand around like it's on fire, but manages to spit out, "THAT's fer makin' my sister cry when yew DUMPED her, yew *****!" to the now both dazed and drunk man. Now gripping his bloody hand, Eddie stalks out of the tavern, muttering about "the nerve of him wanting to fight ME..."
Your superior asks for a favour you would have problem doing:
"B-but, sir..." Eddie protests, pointing to the case file. "Th-the boy's innocent. I've looked over this file hundreds of times, an' he...he just couldn'ta dunnit! I can't prosecute this case!" The older lawyer and senior prosecutor for the city looks at Eddie with sympathy. "M'boy, I agree with you. But you know as well as I that trying the real culprit would get us both fired. I'm sorry, but you're going to have to prosecute him." "S-sir...I just...the boy's been known t' cause trouble...you know the jury'll convict him just cause'a that..." Eddie continues weakly, his shoulders dropping. The old man sighs, running a hand over his balding scalp. "Look. If we had another choice, I'd take it. But we don't, and if you don't want us both killed and thrown in a gutter by tomorrow, you'll get in there and try the case. I'm not saying you have to try to convict, just...just get in there and look like you're trying." Eddie nods slightly, adjusting his hat. "Yessir."

This app was just very well-written, overall. In my opinion, the backstory perhaps shied a bit too much away from Bennuck's personal life, but everything else was balanced and clearly well-thought-out. I'll see you server-side, April 19th!

While overall this was a good app, Edmond seems to have useful skills from both the upper and lower classes, but none of the weaknesses of either class. In fact, the only weakness that I could see was a fairly easy-to-overcome social one. If you can perhaps review his backstory and give him a suitable, tangible, physical weakness, then you should be good to go. It shouldn't be too hard, I doubt it will take you long.

“Unless of
course you’re just some nancy rich-boy who’s never worked a day in his life!”

Name: William Rold
Age: 25
Class: Rogue
Physical description: William is a little bit over average height. Is strong. Has dirty blonde slightly long hair. Has a beard. Blue eyes.
Screen capture of your skin: http://www.planetminecraft.com/skin/edward-kenway-pirate-cloak/
Biography (Minimum 300 words. No clichés such as loved one being killed by robbers or the like.): William was born in the Gart’nun Isles and lived there for most of his life. He was born into his family as an only child. His father, Garret, served in the Empiracle army and his mother stayed home to take care of him. During his time growing up, his father had taught him how to wield a sword which William turned out to be very good at after years of practice on his wooden dummy. William was a pretty normal child, played around outside a lot and enjoyed climbing trees, which he was very good at.
When he was around fifteen years old, his mother received a letter saying that his father had died in battle a week before. He and his mother cried most of the night, and then William began to get angry. The rest of the night he stood in his room smashing his sword into the wooden dummy until the sun rose and he was exhausted. Eventually, his mother began to run low on money, not having a job and with her husband dead, so William toke it into his own hands. Whenever he headed out he’d keep an eye out for anything that might be of value, then he would take it. For the first month or so of doing this he would be easily spotted but was quick enough to run away. Eventually he got the hang of it slowly and people began to not notice until he was long gone. His mother was always curious as to how he brought so much money in, but she never asked questions.
One day, about three years later, using the money William brought home she went out to buy some food from the local tavern when some drunken men started to harass her. She slapped one of them across the face after telling him to stop repeatedly. Then he hit her in the face. She headed home as quickly as possible, trying to hide the black eye that was quickly forming. When she stepped into the house William was there and he noticed her eye. He asked her if she was alright and what happened and who did this, but his mom wouldn’t say at first but after enough times of asking she told him it was two drunk men that were at the bar who harassed her so she slapped one and he hit her. William stormed into the kitchen and grabbed a knife, slipping it into his belt loop he stormed out of the house, his mother trying to stop him but he just kept walking towards the tavern.
When he got to the tavern he burst in through the door and yelled at everyone, asking who it was that hit his mother when one drunk man spoke up and said, “Oi, was that the pretty lady that slapped me?” obviously too drunk to notice his mistake. William pulled the knife out of the belt loop and stabbed it into the man’s gut. He continued to stab him until he was lying dead in a pool of his own blood. People were screaming and running from the tavern as William slipped the knife back into his belt loop and ran home. He quickly told his mom that they had to leave, now. But his mother refused so William ran upstairs packed his things, including his father’s sword, and ran downstairs. He hugged his mother good bye as he ran towards the docks. He quickly bought a ticket onto the next ship and headed away from the island. While on the boat he was fascinated by how it worked so he spoke to the captain to see if he could perhaps teach him how to sail. The captain welcomed him with open arms and took him under his wing. William sailed with the captain for a year until he got the hang of sailing once he did he got off and entered the capital of the Llandican Empire. William got a job on a merchant ship, and stayed there for a few months until it got attacked by pirates who killed most of the merchants, looted the ship and sunk it. But William was offered a spot aboard their crew as he showed significant fighting capabilities as he tried to defend the ship from the pirates. So, deciding it was better than dying on a sinking ship, he accepted. He quickly became accustomed to the pirate life, boarding ships, killing, looting, and getting a good portion of the loot. But then it came to an end one day when they were attacking a convoy when a military ship seemed to appear out of the blue. They put up a fight but were eventually overpowered. William, not wanting to get arrested grabbed a broken plank and jump into the ocean. Eventually he floated up on the side of a beach somewhere. He then, seeing the smoke of a settlement, headed in that direction. Once there he figured out he had ended up in a town in the far southwestern town of Roland’s Field. After he arrived he began to wear a hood a lot so people couldn’t see his face, or recognize him.
What is your character’s main goal? (Motivation): To get enough riches to live a desirable life and to get a boat of his very own.
Strengths (Both physical and personality): Roland is quite strong, but not so bulky as to slow him down when he wants to run. His height is average enough to not make him stand out in a crowd which makes his job a lot easier. Personality wise if you just met him and were talking to him, you wouldn’t think he’d stab a knife into your gut just to get a few coins out of your pocket. He is very good at climbing and is able to climb walls as long as there are enough foot holds and ledges to grab onto. He’s gotten good and blending into his surroundings and hiding. He is quite skilled with a sword.
Weaknesses (Balance out yours character's strengths with suitable weaknesses. Not knowing how to do something that is outside of your class is not a weakness. I.E. Not knowing how to use a bow as a miner.): He doesn’t tend to put his trust into anyone. He is often clouded by greed. He doesn’t know how to get money besides stealing it. He hasn’t been able to hold jobs for too long because he’s not very good at them.
“Frak, frak,” William curses under his breathe every time he puts his weight on the broken ankle.
He had just stole a fair bit of cash from a fellow on the street but a guard had noticed him and called some buds to chase him. He tried getting up onto the rooftops so he could escape, which he did but at the cost of jumping off the roof into a dark alley which he landed on his ankle the wrong way and broke it. He managed to use the shadows in the alleys to hobble further from the guards. Once he figured he was clear he stepped back out on the main road. He headed towards his hide out he called home while trying to keep the pain at bay. He finally made it a laid down on his bed.
He decided he’ll sleep now and go to a hospital in the morning.
In a tavern, a stranger threatens you to fight him/her:
“Well, yuh’ gunna’ figh’ me or are yuh’ jus’ gunna’ si’ ‘ere?” the drunken man asked as he swayed around in the middle of the tavern, obviously very drunk. William sighs as he stands up, his back facing the drunken man but knowing exactly where he is.
“Well, I suppose you asked for it,” and as he said that he pivoted on his left foot, stepping forward with his right and putting all his power into the hit, aiming for the man’s jaw. His fist connects and the man crumples to the floor, knocked out cold. William shakes out his hand as he kneels down next to the drunken man’s unconscious body and searches his pockets for some coins. He find a small pouch and takes it as he walks out of the tavern, whistling happily.
Your superior asks for a favour you would have problem doing:
“You want me to pull a hay cart across town when you have to perfectly able horses in a stable out back?” William asks, annoyed.
“Mhmm. Do you have a problem with that?” his boss asks snarkily. William thinks about how this man has quite a bit of money that he’s going to pay him for this job. Then he figures the jobs not worth it, but he stills wants the money. He walks up to his boss who is looking at a painting on his wall. William taps his shoulder.
“You’re still he-“ his boss turns around as he is cut off by Williams fist connecting with his jaw, making him stumble back. William then grabs his neck and smashes his head against the wall, knocking him unconscious. He searches his pockets and the room for any valuables then leaves.

You did a good job in giving Edmond a more realistic set of weaknesses that pairs well with his backstory. Though the new weaknesses seem to mostly still be the same "fish out of water"-type, you mentioned his lack of raw physical power. Additionally, the rest of your app supports this enough to justify an accept, so, I can't wait to see you April 19th!
Accepted:
Madame_Sukii:
Nice job fixing the application! However, you still got the lore question wrong. Please read it over one more time just to make sure. And, while I would normally defer anyone without a skin, I know you won't come on and roleplay with a batman skin or anything like that. Just make sure to message me your skin when you have it. Welcome back to Silver Gaming (Officially)! I'd tell you where to find our site, but I know you know that I know that you know. Can't wait to RP with you!
Wheatleylabs777:
Great job on the application, Wheats! I would, however, have liked to see something about Eddie's physique in both the Strengths and Weakness category. Other than that, though, it was great! I especially liked the ICRs. Looking forward to RP with you and remember, never drink two whole alcohols!
Deferred:
Chilli50:
Overall, the application was good. However, there are a couple major things that I just couldn't help but notice.
- Your skin is a character from Assassin's Creed. It's not really appropriate for the server, so try and find something less popular.
- Your strengths completely outweigh your weaknesses. It seems you were thinking too hard about making him a villain and forgot some of the human parts about your character. Try to balance him out a bit physically.
- Your character seems a little flat and cliche. I'm not saying you'll have to change your character, but maybe you could add some events that weren't mostly about vengeance, just to put a little bit more human into him.
Fix those up, and you'll be perfect! Feel free to contact me via Skype or PM if you ever need any help! Good luck!

Character Information
Name: Jacob Novedal
Age: 22
Class: Archer/Farmer
Physical description: Jacob stands at an average 5' 6", has long dark brown hair and despite being a farmer, is rather pale in complexion. He is physically strong and prefers to have a small, unkempt bit of facial hair. He wears a light brown tunic, with a leather undercloth and a pair of handed down boots.
Screen capture of your skin: http://tinypic.com/v...=8#.U0OWdPldXME
Biography: Jacob was born to raised by Mary and John Novadal with his five siblings. He is the oldest of the Novedal children at 22, although not the tallest. He stands at an average 5' 6", has long dark brown hair and despite being a farmer, is rather pale in complexion. He is strong in both the physical and moral sense, but lacks conviction when it comes to making his own decisions. He can lead his siblings like a king at the farm, but is rather uncouth in public.
Jacob was slow to make friends while growing up, and never had a true friend except in the family's dog, Daisy. He tends to be indecisive at times, but once he's made up his mind, he sees his actions through, no matter the outcome. He can be fairly stubborn when it comes to his beliefs, or lack thereof as is the case. His family is a devout worshiper of Kastelmism, and thus has always been a bit of a black sheep.
During the winters on the farm, at the age of 15, Jacob was assigned the job of hunting to feed the family. He went with his father the first few times, but quickly mastered the bow and arrow, due to his solitary nature. His father took great pride in his sons skills and once entered him in the town archery contest. After getting extremely nervous in the first round and losing horribly, Jacobs father became upset with him. When he tried to explain himself, his father began to become more and more upset, causing Jacob to feel terrible about ever learning to use the bow. As he grew older, he began to clash more and more with his father. His mother understood his frustration but was unable to help him, as her husband would become upset with her as well.
Nowadays, he is constantly conflicting with his family, due to his solitary ways and disbelief in Kastelmism.
What is your character’s main goal?: Jacob has come of age and due to escalating differences between his family, he has decided to venture to the new land, for a farm of his own, a fresh start and maybe an adventure or two along the way.
Strengths: Strong both physically and morally. Capable of being a great leader of men and has exceptional archer skills, due to many years hunting for food during the cold, long winters.
Weaknesses: Jacob is painfully shy, and indecisive at times. His stubbornness can sometimes get him into trouble, especially when it comes to his core beliefs. He is a pacifist by nature and prefers to solve his problems through verbal means. He also cares more for others than himself, always making other people his first priority.
In-Character-Responses (ICRs. For each scenario, write at least a paragraph describing entirely in-character how your character would respond to the situation. Your ICRs will be used to see how well you can RP. Please post them as if in IC chat. An example can be found after this form.)
Due a recent accident, you wander the dark quiet streets of the town with a broken ankle trying to make your way home: Jacob limps to the nearest inn, and after offering to do some work for the stay, the innkeeper agrees to let him stay for the night while he splints his broken ankle.
In a tavern, a stranger threatens you to fight him/her: Rather than fighting, Jacob offers to buy the man/woman another drink. After getting them settled down, he would quietly slip from the tavern to find somewhere less social.
Your superior asks for a favor you would have problem doing: Jacob would decline respectively and explain why he would have a problem doing the favor.

What is the definition of “Metagaming”?: Metagaming is when a person uses knowledge they gained OOC and use it IC for their benefits. Ex: Ra’s Al Ghul: ((I heard Bruce Wayne is Batman)) Commissioner Gordon: *Walks over to Bruce Wayne* “I never expected you to be the Batman, Bruce!” Bruce Wayne: “Whaaaaa?”
What is the definition of “Roleplay”?: Roleplay is to put yourself in a character, usually fictional, with traits and personality unique to itself and ‘bring it to life’.

Character Information
Name: Trevis Nowakowsky
Age: 37
Class: Miner/Woodsman
Physical description: Trevis is a very rugged looking man. While he isn’t at all bulky, the muscles he has are defined. He has a big scruffy beard to go with his long, dishevelled hair. His hair colour matches his brown eyes. He wears a simple cloth shirt and some aged dark pants. The footwear is also very old, being accompanied with faded colours and poorly sewn patches. His eyes are blue and empty as the sky on a clear day. The shiny ocean blue that he once had as a child has all but faded.
Screen capture of your skin
Biography (Minimum 300 words. No clichés such as loved one being killed by robbers or the like.):
Trevis was born in a simple farm town in Braxia, where politics and war never affected him during his childhood. His family relied entirely on the farm that they shared with a couple other families. One of those families had a child the same age as Trevis. Her name was Emilia, and with no other kids their age for miles, they became best friends.
As they grew older and became more rebellious, they became more intimate as well. One drunken night, the two of them made the biggest mistake of their lives. A couple months later, Emilia finds out she’s pregnant and tells Trevis about the news. Word spread and Trevis’s parents eventually found out about it. After a heated fight, Trevis was kicked out of the house. Not knowing what to do, he met with a shady businessman and stroke up a deal. Trevis was given 1000 gold coins and a secure job working in construction in a big city in return for Trevis’s child. Trevis asked Emilia to run away with him, that he had was hired by a contracting company and was guaranteed good pay. Emilia, oblivious to the fact that he had struck up a deal with the devil, took him on that offer.
The first couple of months went by quickly and joyfully, having moved to a small cabin just on the outskirts of the city. However, as the weeks carried on, Trevis became more and more paranoid. He started to talk less and came home to his pregnant partner late at night. One night, Trevis woke Emilia up and told her to pack her belongings. Within dawn, they would have arrived back a farmhouse with an old widower tending to it. He agreed to let the couple stay in the barn if he helped out with farm work. A couple weeks later, Emilia gave birth to a little girl. When Trevis first held his daughter, he started to cry. He knew the men would come looking for them. A week passed, and without anyone crossing by, or the widower gossiping about the news, things started to look up.
The fateful night came 8 months later. Trevis went out to the farm, carrying his daughter, Olivia, to show her what he was doing. His wife was helping out the widower with cooking and cleaning and everything seemed perfect. Trevis came back home a couple of hours later to the exact replica of the nightmares he had. Emilia and the widower’s dead bodies were on the ground, and a note was left on the table. He trembled as he went to pick up the note, but then he heard Olivia’s first words. “Momma?” Trevis collapsed on the floor, holding Olivia as tight as he can. Tears ran down his cheeks as he said “I’m so sorry.” Over and over again.
Three months later, Trevis managed to get in contact with an orphanage and sneaked into town. Trevis cried and held Olivia as tight as he could. He handed her over, and Olivia started to cry in confusion. “I’m so sorry baby, I’m so sorry!” He stood there, crying. He came back to the orphanage the very night, only to find out everyone had died, including Olivia. As he kneeled there, dumbfounded, he heard footsteps behind him. He turned around and charged at the man, screaming. There, a shoe met his face and Trevis fell on the ground, unconscious.
He woke up on a prison wagon. No. There were more wagons around him. It was a slave trade and he was secretly being traded to the then Llandican Empire for the war. Defeated, he sat there and awaited his fate. He was bought by the army and was mentally abused for weeks. He was then set up with other soldiers in the front lines of the war. Basically acting as a human shield, he spent what he thought was his last days with the other slaves. The next morning, he was going to die. As they charged onto the battlefield, he was immediately met with a sword hilt to the nose. He was knocked on the ground, and a Braxian soldier stood above him, his blade ready. “P-please…” Trevis choked out, tears in his eyes. He awaited his fate. The soldier shouted and shoved the blade into the ground. “Run. Run into the woods. And keep running.” Trevis wasted no time in running, making his way from the battlefield.
He took up a job at an unfair workshop, where he was forced to carry lumber and stone for 16 hours a day. He barely received money to stay alive, and he kept wondering why he was trying so hard to live. He considered suicide many times, but just couldn’t bring himself to do it. One day, Trevis saw a flier. It advertised new life and guaranteed food and shelter. He was sold on new life. He left his work without saying anything to his supervisors and set out to Roland’s Field.
What is your character’s main goal? (Motivation):
As a man who has gone through so much, he still asks for so little. He only wishes to live a simple life –a life that has eluded him for far too long.
Strengths (Both physical and personality):
Trevis is very perceptive of the world around him. He has a tremendous amount of determination and perseverance. While most won’t see it, he has goodness in his heart that has survived all the hardships and evil he has managed to survive through. He genuinely cares about the people he’s met. Physically, Trevis has lost most of the athleticism he once had as a youth. While he is still able to sprint during times of need, he will only last a short amount of time as he easily becomes short of breath. He prefers to walk around and uses his social invisibility to blend with the crowd. Has worked in labour for a while and with the help of his innate perception, he’s become very adept at building.
Weaknesses (Balance out yours character's strengths with suitable weaknesses. Not knowing how to do something that is outside of your class is not a weakness. I.E. Not knowing how to use a bow as a miner.):
Having lived a life full of running away, his combat abilities is average at best. He is kind to a fault, leaving him very vulnerable if someone were to target him. His voice and tone has always managed to keep people away, forcing him to become very quiet, and hardly starts a conversation himself– even to his friends. He hasn’t had much formal education, and really only knows the basics of reading and writing. Mathematics and sciences are something he can only dream to understand. While he can detect a lot of things in the streets that the average person cannot, he is often oblivious when it comes to his personal life.
In-Character-Responses (ICRs. For each scenario, write at least a paragraph describing entirely in-character how your character would respond to the situation. Your ICRs will be used to see how well you can RP. Please post them as if in IC chat. An example can be found after this form.)
Due a recent accident, you wander the dark quiet streets of the town with a broken ankle.
Trevis limps around, trying to make his way home from work. The supervisor merely put some bandages on the ankle, telling him there’s nothing he could do about it.
“Hah… This is troubleso-“ He winces as he steps on uneven ground. With all the exhaustion from work, he quickly starts to lose consciousness and eventually collapses onto the stone.
“Oh good! You’re awake!” Trevis bats his eye in confusion. There was a man standing above him, smiling. “Wh-where am I..?” Trevis manages to squeak out. He feels around. It’s comfy. The bed here is nothing like the blanket he sleeps on. He tries to move his feet off the bed, but quickly regrets the decision as a piercing pain goes through his right ankle. “Whoa there, fella! Don’t want you to be moving right now.” The man carefully rests Trevis’s legs onto the bed again. “I’m Doctor Riengo Zak, but you can just call me Riengo.” Trevis nods. “So… how did I end up here?” “Well, I was walkin’ home from work when I saw yah. You seemed to be limpin’ so I tried to get to ya to help. Seems like I didn’t make it fast enough.” Riengo scratches his head, smiling. Trevis reaches for Riengo’s hand and shakes it firmly. “Thank you so much, sir. You’ve saved my life.” Trevis smiles, enjoying life, even for a minute.
In a tavern, a stranger threatens you to fight him/her.
Trevis shakes his head. “Ma’am, please… I don’t want to cause any tr-“ Trevis is interrupted with a punch to the bridge of his nose. Trevis flinches back and holds his nose, to make sure it isn’t broken. Shaken up by the sudden aggressiveness, he realises it’s best for him to leave. “I-I’ll be making my way now…” Trevis, still protecting his nose, stands up. “You ain’t goin’ nowhere, dammit!” The woman swings at Trevis’s head and knocks him down. Trevis looks at the woman. Comparing both of their physiques, Trevis would easily have the upper hand, but sits there, looking at the woman. “Wh-what did I even do?!” “Shut your mouth!” The woman starts to kick at him, and everyone else watches, not doing anything about it.
“Hey! You stop that!” A muscular figure appears and separates the woman from Trevis. He reaches his hand out for Trevis. Trevis grabs onto it firmly and is helped back up. “You should leave now, I’ll handle this.” Without hesitation, Trevis nods and quickly leaves the scene.
Your superior asks for a favour you have problems with.
“Trevis, I’m not asking you! Go do it! NOW!” He shoves Trevis out of his office. Trevis was assigned to test the steaming hot stone to see if it was properly polished or not. Trevis looks around again. ‘There has to be gloves somewhere!’ After a few minutes of desperately looking for gloves, he gives up and looks at the piles of stone. He looks at his hand. “Here goes nothing…”
