I. Races Echoes of the Ancients currently allows three races: Humans, Elves, and Dwarfs. Throughout this thread you will find how one of our major goals for EotA is to concentrate the roleplay for the maximum amount of enjoyment. Our race selection is part of that. We wish to keep the amount of races at a relatively small number to allow each to possess a large community in their own right, while hopefully providing a satisfying amount of racial variety overall. We view these three races as a staple for fantasy servers, and as roleplayers have some of our fondest memories roleplaying them; we believe that many other roleplayers do as well. Also, while there are no set subraces, you may roleplay as something akin to one (EX: A Darkelf or Northerner). However, you may not create your own lore for it.
Here are the average lifespans of each race:
Human:70 years Dwarf:120 years Elf:160 years
Human/Dwarf:95 years Human/Elf:115 years Dwarf/Elf: 140 years
II. Factions EotA has one major faction - Redania. This is to concentrate the roleplay in one general area. We personally do not believe in racial factions, as we have witnessed them time and time again to be fundamentally flawed. Therefore, Redania is set to be a sprawling empire including all three races. We are adopting an aggressive post-launch expansion schedule, so it is likely we will add another faction sometime soon after launch.
III. Map We are extremely proud of the high quality of our map and are excited to present it to the minecraft roleplaying community at large. It is completely, one-hundred-percent custom-made. At launch, we will feature one major city (Kurgan's Hold) and several small villages and holdings. The city will act as the major roleplay hub for the time being; another effort to concentrate the roleplay on EotA. An emphasis on exploration was one of our major goals while creating the map, so there are many things to discover. Old ruins, elaborate dungeons, mysterious landmarks, and dozens of secrets can all be found within.
IV. Rules Here are the current rules of EotA:
-No powergaming (forcing someone to do something without giving them any choice in the matter) -No metagaming, or provoking metagaming (using information gained out of character while in character, or giving people the opportunity to do so) -Use a skin relevant to your character and the roleplay. -Stay in character at all times. If you need to say something out of character, preferably use the appropriate chat channel, or use (), [], {}. -Cybering and all types of sexual roleplay (consensual or not) are not allowed under any circumstance. -Racism is allowed in-character, but it is not allowed out of character. -Respect your fellow players and the staff of the server. -If you are defeated in RP-PVP, the victor may choose what to do with you. That being said, we ask that these decisions are made with the roleplay in mind. To kill someone, you must have a good reason to do so. If you are killed in RP-PVP, it is a character death. -Conflicts are RP-PVP default up until ten people are involved. At ten people, PVP is the default. Players may choose to use non-default methods as long as at least 3/4 (Minimum of one on each side of the conflict) of the people involved agree to. -To kill without provocation, be psychotic or otherwise mentally ill, and commit any extreme criminal acts (such as mass arson), you need to have an accepted Evils Application. -Please be as realistic as possible when roleplaying. This includes roleplaying your character’s job correctly, any skill/ability your character may possess, and obtaining items. Players that are not roleplaying realistically may be banned. -You may not use any glitches. -You may not use any third-party applications that give you an advantage over other players. -To own any land outside a village/town/city, you must purchase it from the landowner. -Anything you construct MUST make sense according to the era (medieval/dark ages). For example, you may not have an underground farm.
-To steal from a container which does not belong to you, you must have a lockpick (An iron ingot specially named and created for that purpose) and your actions must be overseen by a moderator
-Multiple characters are allowed, but item sharing between them is strictly forbidden, you must play the characters with parity (No throwaways except under special circumstances), and your characters may not have any direct or indirect interaction.
- You may not lock any container which you do not own.
- Armor and equipment on the players skin may only be possessed in character if you have correctly and realistically obtained that item through roleplay, have had it approved by a moderator, and possess the item in your inventory.
- In order to fire or throw a projectile (Arrow, Bolt, Rock, Potion, anything which is thrown or shot), you must follow the proper procedure. The shooter must roll out of 100. The person being shot at must also roll out of 100. If the individual being shot at rolls higher than the shooter, the shooter misses. If the shooter does not miss and roll 80 or higher, the hit is critical.
- Magic is nonexistent in the mind and culture of this world. No character is allowed to have magic in it's lore, or possess any magical characteristics.
- Editing signs which do not belong to you, without the permission of the owner, or outside of proper circumstances is against the rules
- Placing an excessive amount of signs is against the rules
-Pens for keeping animals, which are any sort of enclosed or walled in area, no matter how big, must follow the following specifications:
All pens must have a source of food and water
There must be sufficient floor space in the pen to match the number and type of animals
Cows and Horses take up four blocks each
Pigs and Sheep take up two blocks each
Chickens take up one block each
If you have more than the allowed number or animals in a pen, the animals will die.
-The staff of EotA reserves the right to take action against any players whose actions we deem harmful to the server or it's community, whether or not they expressly break any of the rules listed above.
-Following one month of inactivity (Not logging on) your property may be seized, and your chests unlocks
-Soul stones may not be used to get out of IC situations. For instance, if someone catches you in a trap, using your soul stone to escape is a breach of the rules.

Herblore
We have specific lore for plants and medical remedies. The effects of these plants are not common knowledge, so if you want to be able to use them you'll have to find out their effects in character. Each plant has a specific effect, and making up your own effects or plants is not allowed.
Actual Herbs (Detailed):
Lowland Arabithae (Poppy):
A small, red flower that grows in temperate valleys and forests. It flourishes in the shade of trees or bushes, growing in small groups.
Each plant has a single flower, which grows 7 inches above the ground-hugging leaves. Small thorns line it, far enough apart to allow for easy picking. The flower’s petals splay outwards when bloomed, displaying the center.
Upon consumption, it has a unique blend of a sweet and spicy taste (Imagine apple cider, or something like that)
Magisence (Blue Orchid):
A large blue flower that thrives in direct light. It thrives in grasslands. Each plant has many flowers, anywhere from 30-48. The flowers are attached to long stems that tilt over from the weight. The thin leaves crowd around most of the stems, though not attached.
Eating it provides a bitter taste.
Pokatium (Poppy):
A small, red flower. Each plant has multiple flowers, though they grow with some distance between each one. They are similar to the Lowland Arabithae, the only difference being the lack of thorns. The plants grow in temperate valleys and forests, like the Arabithae. The plant has a horrid smell and a foul taste.
Quail-Egg Kish (Azure Bluet):
A medium-sized plant with plentiful, low-growing flowers. They are found in colder plains and steppes. They are dull in color, a light grey. The flowers are small, but tangled and many. The flower has little taste at all, but large amounts can provide a faint, rich taste.
Niko Beans (Seeds):
Small, black beans found in tall-growing, grass-like plants found in grasslands and plains. The beans can be consumed, but have a bland, unfavorable flavor.
Korosh Tri (Allium)
A single, tall flower standing high above its leaves. The Korosh Tri is generally found in temperate rainforests, thriving with large amounts of water. The stem has small hairs that cause it to be sticky to the touch. The flower itself is purple and spherical in shape. The smell is sickly sweet. Eating it provides a foul taste, like spoiled food.
Fyshtum (Lily pad)
An aquatic plant with one large, flat, white or pink flower that floats on the surface. They are generally found in the shallow, stagnant water of ponds. The flower and leaves are tasteless, but the nectar in the flower is sweet.
Danken (Dandelion)
A small plant with a cluster of yellow flowers. The spiked leaves cluster around the bottom of the plant. The flowers, small and with no fragrance, stand 3-5 inches above the ground. The plant itself is found as a weed in most areas, particularly in civilized areas where other plants are unable to compete. They grow and spread quickly.
The plant tastes bland when consumed.
Fancy Istan (White or Pink Tulip)
A medium-sized plant that stands with a single white or pink flower. The plant is usually found in meadows and forests. The flower is never completely open, instead having a small opening for pollination. The closed flower holds a nectar within the bulb. The nectar is sweet tasting.
Cortail (Seeds):
Yellowish-tan seeds from a type of grain common in grasslands. Spicy taste, not unlike pepper.
Common Istan (Red or Orange Tulip)
Like the Fancy Istan, only red or orange.
Sunflower:
Distinctive tall yellow-and-brown flower. Constantly faces east. Normal sunflower taste
Mitzen (Dandelion)
Similar in shape to the Danken. The only difference is that the plant grows much larger, and has small thorns on each stem. Has a bland flavor.
Rose (Rose Bush):
A rose bush. Normal rose taste.
Vimir’s Touch (Oxeye Daisy):
A tall, white flower with a yellow center. The plant has a single flower which stands far above the leaves. It can be found in grasslands and meadows. The plant has large thorns along the stem. The taste is unknown.
Luriian Lumon (Lilac):
A tall, purple-flowered plant, unique in its properties. It has a strong smell, though generally a pleasant one. It’s taste is also strong, similar to the smell.
Penti-jin (Peony):
A tall bush with large, pink flowers. It is found in warm, rainy areas, and often is found growing up rocks or tree trunks. The flowers emit a calming aroma. It is flavorless.
Aikun Reed (Sugar Cane):
A tall-growing reed that is often present next to ponds. It thrives in loose sand, though it can grow in dirt. Upon eating, it tastes sweet (like irl sugar cane).
Regiea (Poppy):
A low growing plant with a cluster of round, red-colored flowers. They are commonly found in rocky areas, growing in areas of little soil. It is often considered a weed. It has a strong smell, but does not spread far from the flower. Smelling closely, it clouds the mind. No flavor.
Ancient Folklore and Legends
The Races: Through the ages, the races which were once quite distinct have mixed a great deal. Race, while still around, is no longer a prominent facet of society. Nevertheless, race still exists, and while it would be foolish to try to put each in a box, there are certain physical characteristics which traditional specimens of each race still possess
Elves have always been the tallest of the three races. (5’10”-6’10”ft) They have long pointed ears which are their most obvious indicator. Traditionally, they have longer, narrow faces with pronounced cheekbones. Their hair, eyes, and skin tone vary a great deal, reaching nearly every corner of the normal spectrum. It is known that elves have had brown, blonde, red, grey, black, and in rare cases, white hair. Elven eyes, unlike all other eyes, can be particularly vibrant and colorful, occurring as nearly every shade, and hue. As for skin tone, elves can be anywhere on the spectrum of pigment, from the pale elves of the snow, to the varying browns of the Jarr’al race.
Dwarves are the shortest of the races. (4-5ft) Usually, they are quite muscular, though they might not look it, due to their tendency to be pudgy. They often have bulbous noses, and tall foreheads. It is common for dwarves to have facial hair, with older dwarves wearing the longest beards. Traditionally, their skin tone is fairly consistent, with fair skin and rubicund faces. Their hair varies from the darkest blacks, to medium browns, to the most fiery reds. Dwarven eyes tend to be darker in color; browns, hazels, and sometimes green.
Humans are in the middle in terms of height. (5’2”-6’4”ft) They vary a great deal in skin and hair color. Their skin, like the elves, is capable of being on any point of the spectrum of dark to light. Their hair, all shades of black, brown, blonde, and red. Human eyes can be brown, green, hazel, grey, and most notable, blue.
Dwarfen Folklore Once, over a millennium ago, a Dwarfen kingdom ruled over and under the mountains. Their mines were filled with all manner of ore and gleaming gems which they used to craft wondrous masterpieces in the grand forges of old. The glory of the Dwarfs was best displayed in their great cities. King Ganrik ruled with great generosity and overwhelming kindness. All Dwarfs prospered and their empire grew ever further into the deep. An age of peace had reigned, and no struggle could be found between the Dwarfs and either of the other two races. The Dwarfs dug deeper and deeper into the mountains, finding continuously larger, shinier and harder rocks. So deeper they dug and harder they worked. Their cities grew and so did their people.
Until Ganrik began to grow old and tired. One day, he announced that his last wish was to see the most beautiful gem in existence. So his loving subjects charged down into the mines, thousands upon thousands in number. They dug and dug for days. The further they went into the ground, the less they remembered of the sunlight of the upper world. The longer they journeyed, the less they recalled of their homes above. Until at last, they found it! In a cave filled with gems, with walls lined with crystal, sat a lone pedestal. Atop it lay a dark blue orb, shining of a magical brilliance. Swirling mists of gold clouded it's surface. Immediately, word was sent to King Ganrik, and he was carried down on his death bed.
In the cave the Dwarfs watched their great king humbled at the sight of the orb. The orb was placed into his hands, and for two days did King Ganrik gaze into it's depths. On the third day he broke from his reverie. Every breath was a strain for him at this point, yet he said to his subjects in as strong a voice as ever, "This orb contains unthinkable horrors. Never let it fall into the wrong hands. Hide this orb, and hide it well. Let it forever be kept a secret, and let it forever remain unknown to the outside world." It was after that short speech did King Ganrik finally let out his final breath.
Sadly his subjects did not heed his warning. Shortly after his death, a new king was chosen. That king commanded for the orb to be brought to him. As King Ganrik had warned, the orb contained a horrible darkness; a darkness which infected the new king's mind. Within weeks his subjects had noticed a change in him. He often seemed to speak to others despite being the only one in the room. The new king began rambling about cities and landmarks from the old world, of which none should remember. As time passed his condition grew worse. He began having terrible mood swings, and he let out bloodcurdling screams frequently. The new king was not known to be able to use magic, yet practically overnight he seemed to become a master. Old magic, magic which had not seen the light of day for hundreds of years, was brought to life at the new king's fingertips. A permanent darkness seemed to surround the new king after he demonstrated his magical prowess. Dragons started to become attracted to the mountain, and spiders began to swarm the caverns. The new King refused to acknowledge what was occurring. Eventually, his subjects succumbed to the same madness their King did. All were drawn to the chaos of the orb.
Arguments began to break out among the Dwarfs of the mountain, heated altercations which started to result in fights. It was not long after these fights broke out that the first death occurred; two Dwarfs slew each other over a petty feud. After that, Dwarfs fighting and murdering their brethren became commonplace. The new King laughed and watched, the orb always at his side. Some records say in the final days of the kingdom, the orb would roll around on its own. It would produce thumping noises and the whirlwind inside it would stabilize to show images. One Dwarf saw these images. He had slain two of his brethren to get to the orb, and within it he saw all the ways he would die. The Dwarf was struck with a terrible, primal fear, and he fled the mountain, caving in the entrance after he left. Never should the orb be found again, he thought. The Dwarf warned Dwarfs from different mountains of the horrors of the orb, and they left their mountain homes together, roaming the forests unchecked for many years until the Redanian Empire finally rose.
The Titans, The Golems, The Ancients The Ancients, as the Scribes of Redania often say, are beings of legend and myth. Many tales exist around the kingdom about these enormous golems, but no-one knows where they originated from. Preachers and pilgrims say that they walked the earth before the time of elven and dwarfen kingdoms and even created the entirety of the world. The titans are often considered godlike beings and there are temples and shrines devoted to them spread all over the kingdom. Many Redanian children are raised on stories of the Ancients.
The Narrow War Temina was once a proud nation of Ylvania, but in it’s hubris it decided to stand against Redania, believing somehow they could prevail against all odds. Redania was considered a threat by many Teminan’s to their entire way of living. Had Temina had their way, the orcs would have run Redania down, so great was their fear and hatred of the empire. Thus, King Ergho of Redania ordered that Temina be preemptively struck down.
The two nations were almost equal in power. Since Temina had not faced the orc threat they had been able to prosper, while Redania remained weakened by the orcish hordes. Nevertheless, they were not prepared for full scale war with Redania. While Redania had a fleet of dozens of warships, Temina possessed only merchant ships. It’s army was mostly made of conscripts, the majority peasants with no formal training. The odds were against Temina from the outset.
The war began with several Redanian victories. It continued that way for some time before Temina was able to raise a professional army. By that time the Redanians were deep within the Teminan homeland, their supply lines stretching far and wide. The lust for blood and plunder was less so than it had been when the war started. Temina was able to push back the Redanians from their land through a series of decisive battles. Redania was pushed back to the straits between Dunncrest and Ylvania. There was a naval stalemate there for years, the Teminans launching hit and run attacks against the Redanian fleets. Redania had to call out all its able men and even some women to crew their ships. The fire that burned within Redania was strong and they were able to endure attack upon attack, until a brilliant manuever by the Teminans around Wetrock forced the Redanians to fall back to Kurgan’s Hold itself. There, the last stores of Dragonfire were fed to the mighty Dragon war machines, firing ferociously into any Teminans that advanced on the city.
With luck, desperate but clever tactics and immense bravery, the Redanians managed to defeat the Teminans at their doorsteps. The Teminans were sent into disarray, and retreated all the way back to Ylvania. Eventually, the Redanians were able to march on the city of Temina itself, but by that time only King Ylgrath and his personal legion remained of the once great Redanian forces. They besieged the city, eventually breaking down the gates and storming into the streets. The Teminan forces were routed, and fell back to the keep where Ylgrath and his legion followed them. Details after are very controversial, and no one truly knows exactly what happened next. Some say Ylgrath, the lone survivor of the army, marched into the King’s Hall himself, slaying any that came near, including the Teminan King. Others say that the legion overwhelmed the much-depleted Teminan forces, and Ylgrath struck the killing blow to Temina by slaying it’s king. Regardless, Temina was razed to the ground.
The Man on the Coldflow River One of the darker tales in Redania speak of the man on the Coldflow river. The story goes that there once lived a nobleman who had his home on the river. One day his daughter fell into the river, and even after diving into the river himself, he was unable to save her. He nearly died from the chill, but managed to reach his hearth and warm himself.
The days passed and slowly the grief began to consume him. He stayed in his mansion all day telling anyone who visited that the river was going to come for him, too. He often yelled at children that they should get inside before the river consumed them as well. The nobleman quickly was dubbed a madman.
Soon, he fell completely into his madness. Months after the incident, his daughter’s body was found pale and decaying upon the rocks. He demanded that her remains be returned to the river, where he said they belonged. The river would come for them too, if they didn’t. The people were disgusted and outraged, and disobeyed him by burying his daughter.
A week after, a merchant ship began to sail down Coldflow river, it’s destination Kurgan’s Hold. When they approached Coldflow Manor, the home of the nobleman, they found him sitting on a rock nearby, muttering to himself. It was then the sailors noticed that the river was turned crimson with blood and littered with bodies.
It is said that the mad nobleman still is there besides the river to this day, and that he drags anyone that comes near into the Coldflow river to sate it’s bloodlust. For if he doesn’t, the river will take him as well.
The Legend of King Athan Athan the Audacious. Athan the Archer. Athan the Angel.
Many names and titles exist for the greatest Redanian king, Athan, who first began the push against the orcs, who reclaimed all the islands and lands lost to them, and who stood alone against horde after horde.
The orcs had begun using the small town of Wetrock, and had taken the residing peoples hostage while they used the village as a staging point for their troops. Redania suffered defeat after defeat to the orcish hordes, and little remained of the Redanian armies. Only a handful of the King's rangers and five legions of men remained. King Athan’s greatest general had fallen protecting farmers who were fleeing to the city, where Athan had ordered all humans to retreat to for protection.
It is said that Athan realized the impending doom of Redania, and left the city with a dozen rangers, his council of advisors and heir in charge of the city. Athan rode with his party towards Wetrock, all thirteen grim-faced and of the conviction that none of them would return. Athan and his rangers managed to reach the shores of the island, unbeknownst to the orcs. There, Athan and his party spied on the orcish army for many days, counting six hundred orcs living in dozens of barracks. The prisoners were kept by the orcs in the town hall.
Many plans were made on how to deal with the orc forces on Wetrock. They contemplated setting fire to them as they slept, but orcs are very resilient to flame. They thought of somehow luring them onto the boats, of which would have been sabotaged before hand. Ultimately, the plan was set to bottleneck the orcish hordes in a canyon with the five Redanian legions. Numbers would not count there.First, however, Athan demanded that the prisoners on Wetrock be rescued. So it was done; six rangers snuck into the town in the dead of the night, climbing onto the rooftops and entering the town hall from the chimneys. Meanwhile Athan sent the six remaining rangers back to Redania to gather the legions. Athan, alone, provided a distraction for prisoners to escape. He climbed atop an orcish vessel, tying his feet to the top of the mast. From there, he rained arrow after arrow into the orc camps. The rangers had given him all their spare quivers.
A prominent Redanian poet wrote a piece about Athan's last stand after the battle:
Arrow after arrow he took Arrow after arrow he delivered The day that death shook Waiting for his soul to be delivered
When at last Athan lay dead and the orcs surrounded the mast, the boat burst into flames. Athan had lined it with firewood before he began his stand, and had ignited the pile with his last arrow. It is said that he alone butchered over two hundred orcs that one night. The remaining orcs marched after the rangers, who led them to the narrowest point of a valley nearby, where the Redanian legions lay in waiting. The orcish forces were massacred, unable to bring their numbers to play and weakened by the heroism of Athan. And thus, Redania was saved.
The Manflayer One cold autumn morning, back when Wetrock was still a small fishing village, a group of fishermen set sail off the coast of the island on a daily fishing trip. They did not return that night, nor the next one. This worried the villagers, for the men were known to return each night only to set out again in the morning.
“Perhaps it was a storm,” they said. “They will return tomorrow.
”Return “they” did, but it was not thirty fishermen that docked in the harbor, but instead one. And it was not the same fishing boat that had left, but instead a small rowboat. The man that returned babbled and whimpered, and the villagers could not make out anything that he said. Except, however, that they had caught a blade as dark as midnight in their fishing net. The villagers pressed him for more information, and as if a dam burst, he told them the entire story in one great rush.
One of his fellow fishermen had gripped the hilt of the blade, and immediately a sudden rage seemed to fill him. His eyes became vacant, and he started speaking about the sins of mankind in a voice that was not his own. Next the survivor knew, the fisherman started brutally murdering everyone around him. Like a scythe through wheat, the fisherman cut down each and every one of his fellows aboard. After slaying each man, he skinned them and made a ghastly cape from it all. Then the man carved a strange rune on his head, and plunged the blade into the deck of the ship. It was immediately split in two. While the ship sank, the fisherman threw the black blade into the ocean where it had come from. His eyes returned to normal then, and he soon realized what he had done. Struck by a terrible grief, the fisherman tied himself to one of the masts of the doomed vessel and disappeared beneath the waves.
The only survivor of the terrible event did not know how, exactly, he had survived. Only a few hours later it was said he passed away. The details are unclear of how or why, but some claim that the survivor had exploded from the inside, strange runes appearing on his chest moments before. The survivor’s body was burned and his ashes stored in a jar.
Some say that the dead fishermen, whose bodies were never recovered, still roam the waters nearby Wetrock, visiting coastal settlements and killing any they find before they return to their watery graves.
Jarr’al The Jarr were a race of dark skinned elves accustomed to the desert and all it's difficulties. Grand cities of sandstone did they construct, only to be driven from them by a terrible plague. The disease was as much an affectation of the body as of the mind; those unfortunate enough to catch the plague would be overcome by a blood rage, which always ended in their abrupt death. The Jarr became wanderers, a nomadic people forever shadowed by the plague. Eventually, they were found by the Redanians, who lead the Jarr back to Redania. Over thousands of years, the Jarr began to blend in with the Redanians from generations of interbreeding, until they bore almost no differences besides the dark pigment of the Jarr's skin.
The Jarr’al civilization is the one of the most revered of all the ancient cultures. They are said to have lived amongst the dragons of old. Their own folktales, spread orally after their excursion from their homeland, tell of Jarr who communicated with the dragons, learning their wisdom.
Chasing the wings we came. Over seas the soaring flame. Warm winds were met. Sands and sweat
Fear we reaped, furious fangs. Fleeing dunes, overhead it hangs. To the ground, where it wont search. To the ground, where it can’t burn.
An old Jarr poem said to have originated in Jarr'al. It tells the story of a people fascinated by dragons to a degree where they followed them across oceans. The dragons were angered by this, and threatened to wipe out the Jarr. The Jarr were then forced underground, where they created massive structures and other feats of engineering and architecture. How they survived under the ground is still unknown to this day, but their civilization flourished and continued to worship the dragons. It is speculated that this may have been done out of fear, or as a way to please the dragons
Places in Redania
Fort Dracholt In a time of despair and war, a Redanian king known as Grundr commanded a fort to be made. This fort was to be able to withstand any siege, even one lead by dragons. To this day, the fort has never been taken, the massive walls and impressive defenses sometimes enough of a deterrent to their foes alone. The fort has since become a symbol of Redanian strength, power and pride.
Fort Rayne The House of Rayne rose to power and prominence in the years leading up to the Third Orc Invasion. Mundus Rayne, the first head of the household, convinced the King of Redania to fund the construction of a great castle on an island just outside Kurgan’s Hold; the castle’s tactical position barring the Orcs from marching directly into the city. And thus Fort Rayne was born, and Mundus Rayne lived in luxury off of the King’s funds until the day he died. Before he passed, however, he hid his vast wealth in a secret passageway to Fort Dracholt.
Since Mundus’ time, the House of Rayne has fallen on hard times, losing much of it’s former glory and high reputation. Loreth Rayne was accused by the King to be a leech on his treasury, and the gold sent to the Raynes to maintain their Fort was used for other purposes. Loreth Rayne and his house became impoverished. Loreth’s son, Uther, decided to not follow his father’s footsteps. He found his fame through his many clashes with the Orcs, and eventually earned enough trust to become Captain of the Guard. He became a close friend of the King, and Uther’s knowledge of tactics and combat prowess left an impression on him. Soon afterwards, Uther was promoted to General, and House Rayne has since then regained much of it’s former reputation. Because of this, Fort Rayne has become a worthy castle once more.
The Arena In the old days of Redania, there was a time when work was scarce and overpopulation a growing problem. The city was on the brink of insurrection and the people's spirits low. They longed for entertainment. The King at the time was very cruel, and his resolution to the problem was throwing citizens into the arena to fight to the death. In this way were the overpopulation and lack of entertainment issues solved. The arena has since fallen into disrepair, the war with the orcs causing all the would-be fighters to join the army. Recently a prominent member of the Order of the Keepers bought the arena and has been attempting to reestablish the glory that could once be found there.
Temple of Knowledge The temple of knowledge was built by the early Redanians. While fear of the unknown drove other human peoples into caves, Redanians would record everything until there was no longer any unknown phenomenon to them in our world. The “priests” of Redania ar no more than scribes of the temple who devote their lives to knowledge. The scribes have been the minds behind most of Redania’s proudest constructions, such as the many statues, the great gates and the warship called the King's Breath. The scribes have no real power in Redanian society other than their vast knowledge. They are respected by some while others would like to see their organization crumble.
The temple was renovated by king Jyndal. After reading myths about great magical powers he had the temple constructed once more. The priests were reemployed with the sole mission of filling it with knowledge. It is said he ordered secret chambers filled with all the books on magic. He intended to prolong his life and reign with magic but died before getting his hands on any useful books. Some say the librarians kept the books for themselves..
Hinterstoder Farthest north and into the snow-capped mountains out of all the Redanian settlements lies Hinterstoder. It was founded by one of the greatest Redanian knights to have ever lived, Sir Arnald. He believed that the ice-covered settlement might soon become humanity’s last hope against the orc menace. It is said that the castle goes deep into the earth and beneath its humble appearance there is an unbreakable stronghold of which is filled with arms and armor, and even the legendary dragonfire once used by Redania in its many wars. Dragonfire was said to burn through anything and never stop, unless a ritual was performed over it. The value of dragonfire today is incalculable. The secret entrance to the stronghold has never been found and is considered by some as an excuse for the town to still exist.
The Slums The slums were made after an old retired Knight decided to build his mansion in the center of Kurgan's Hold. The building was massive, and it created a sinkhole in the ground. The mansion destroyed, the sinkhole began to be covered up until people began living in it. The less fortunate of Redania have made the sinkhole their home, and the area is said to be ruled by crimelords and drug traffickers. Many of the upper class citizens are afraid of it and none who care for their safety would wander it at night.
Temple of Harmony After the death of the Titans all the humans were struck with grief. They sought for a way to ensure that the Titans would be remembered. The humans looked to Bergthor, the Titan who never wanted any part in the struggle, for guidance. To honor him and his deeds, the Humans constructed a wondrous temple inside of Bergthor, a temple devoted to peace. They hoped it would be everlasting.
Fort Kern Before the first orc invasion, when the last of the dragons roamed the earth and the Redanians still possessed dragonfire, a fort stood tall. It was filled with Mages who, day and night, would create dragonfire for the great Redanian war machines. Each recipe was recorded in their minds rather than on paper to preserve their secrecy. Then the came the orcish hordes. The first wave wiped out the fort with ease and most of it's stores of dragonfire. Since no record of how to make the dragonfire remained and all the mages of the fort were slaughtered by orcs, the remaining stores of dragonfire found their home in the King's personal armory. The last of the empire’s stores were said to have been used against Temina.
Wetrock Wetrock was once a bustling fisherman’s village, which was then turned into a miner’s rest, which was then turned into a military fortification, and finally a trader's checkpoint. The village was first founded by a group of fishermen from Kurgan’s Reach who found waters near the Reach crowded and the fish scarce. They moved with their families and a few companions to an island far away from Kurgan's Reach. The town flourished and grew until it was discovered that the hills behind it were filled with ores of all kind. Miners soon came in waves, emptying the hills in but a few years and forcing the fisherman to relocate once more, as they tossed the remains from their excavating into the waters driving many of the fish away. Then the war against Temina started. King Ylgrath commanded that a tower to be constructed in Wetrock to lure an attack by Temina. The surrounding trees and houses were filled with soldiers, ready to jump at any sight of Teminan soldiers. But little did they know, Temina would start its assault on the little island by erecting a great castle at the center to protect the landing of a much larger force. Sadly their plans never came into fruition. In those days Redania still possessed its great Dragons, huge machines of war designed to let loose gouts of dragonfire far into the air. Within a few days the entire Teminan force was reduced to ashes and the castle torn down.
Kings of Redania
1. Kurgan D'Arco. He journeyed through the island of Dunncrest bringing “fire through the great storm”. He unified the small towns under his leadership and brought them to Kurgan’s Hold; a village shielded by surrounding mountains. Kurgan has become somewhat of a legend and a symbol of Redania’s strength. It is said that the people of Redania were once assaulted by a dragon, which Kurgan was able to defeat with fire and steel, the husk he then fed to his starving people. It is also said that the fire that burned within the dragon, now burns in the heart of the people of Redania, giving them the grace of a soaring dragon, the pride of the magnificent beast that single-handedly destroyed countless villages, the ferocity of the raging drake. Famous quotes: My name is Kurgan, and I am a Legion of One. Reign remembered for: Glory and foundation.
2. Holmer He led the Redanians out of the great winter. Holmer organized the people into a city, made jobs for his people and supplied food. He created the city and society we know today. Famous quotes: As a farmer’s field feeds his family, so shall my field feed my nation. Reign remembered for: Rebuilding and expansions.
3. Athan The first King to face an orc invasion. At the time his army was frail but it stood long enough to get most of the people of Redania into Kurgan’s hold. Athan gave his life to save his people from ruin, heading out with a few of his most trusted men to sabotage the orc invasion and lead them into a trap in a valley. Famous quotes: Pain and death are illusions of the weak mind Reign remembered for: Victory.
4. Grundr After Athan’s death his young son Grundr swore he would prevent an invasion like the orcish one ever happening again. He ordered walls to be built and also constructed Dracholt. Grundr reformed the military into a professional army. Many workers died during the mass construction but Grundr believed that the end justified the means. Famous quotes: A fortress is built with blood and toil. Only by blood and toil may it be taken. Reign remembered for: Dracholt and sacrifice
5. Ergho The first King to face Temina. He built the largest Redanian fleet ever known to counter the orc menace. Upon hearing of Temina, he spoke one of the most famous quotes in Redanian history: “Victory needs no explanation; defeat allows none.” It is generally accepted that he meant that if they strike now, they need not worry about explaining their actions since they are still alive, whereas if they were defeated, they will not be asked to explain their actions. Better to be victorious now than be defeated later, in sum. Ergho began major war preparations, and his actions during the time he was King secured the survival of Redania against Temina. Famous quotes: Victory needs no explanation; defeat allows none Reign remembered for: Fear and oppression.
6. Ylgrath The King who finished the war against Temina. After his father Ergho started the war, he soon passed away peacefully. This was, at the time, considered the most severe form of cowardice. His son had to prove to his people his bravery and the quality of his leadership to save the honor and integrity of his family. Ylgrath was able to push back the Teminan assault with his Dragon war machines, legions and a degree of luck. He personally fought on the field and in the final battle it is said that he alone marched into the castle of Temina, killing the king’s guards and the king himself. In his late rule Ylgrath became as harsh, oppressive and tyrannical as his cowardly father. With fire in their hearts the people rebelled, bringing down the oppressive line of Kurgan, but leaving the young son of Ylgrath alive for pity's sake. Ylgrath is suspected to have used magic to prolong his life, he ruled for over a hundred years. His rule and oppression grew worse and more extreme as he grew older. Famous quotes: None Reign remembered for: Victory, glory and nationalism.
7. Markan The first King to not be of the D'arco line. His rule was considered a golden age for Redania. He brought the people out of the oppression of the D'arcos. During his reign the second orcish invasion of Redania occurred, and it is through his leadership that the orcs were once again defeated. Famous quotes: Burn you filthy orcs, burn! Add fuel to the flames and let nothing remain! Reign remembered for: Struggle and hope.
8. Hrogan Hrogan was voted into power after the death of Markan. He was the only King to be voted into place in Redanian history. Hrogan was considered unfit to rule by many and his people suffered as a result. His actions cause many to think of him as the worst of the Redanian Kings. Famous quotes: None Reign remembered for: Anger and disappointment
9. Belander After the reign of Hrogan, few wished for Belander, Hrogan's son, to rule. Belander was angered by this, and called for an election; in the midst of which he accused his adversary of treason, claiming that he had sabotaged the gates. Belander then declared himself military leader of Kurgan’s Hold to root out the rest of the traitors. Once the army was his and the threat his adversary posed was eliminated, he used the army to climb to the throne. He abused his power to extreme limits, decorating Dracholt with gold and his tables with silver. Belander ordered the construction of the ship King’s Breath, named after his glory. He left the people to fend off cold winters and harsh droughts on their own. Famous quotes: While the enemies of Redania still draw breath, there can be no peace. Reign remembered for: Betrayal of the people. Abandoning the nation.
Since Belander’s rule there have been many, less notable Kings. Few did better than Belander or Hrogan, and Redania’s golden age is long past. Most recently was King Elric, a young king who died of fever, who was then followed by his distant relative King Alric. Alric reigned only a short while before he was assasinated. He had not taken a wife, nor had any children, save for one adopted girl named Isrii. Once Isrii came of age, she was crowned queen, and is the current ruler.

IC
Character Name: Philiph Salavenor
Character Age:24
Character Gender:Male
Character Race, human/elf/dwarf (or a mix): Human
Character Appearance (Facial features, build, clothing, etc): He does not have a build of a normal knight, Philiph could be considered physically average to weak, bellow the expectations of a normal knight, he usually wears his expensive armor, decorated by the figure of a sun, passed through generations of Salavenors, Philiph, even young, has a fully grow beard.
Character Personality (How your character acts): A very educated knight, but that does not mean he is always gentle. Usually tries to use reason rather than force. Values honor, but not entirely. (Far from a Samurai`s sense of honor, but he still values honor.) In heart, Philiph is not an entirely good man, like mostly of the knights, but he is still far from being someone with evil intentions.
Character Strengths/Weaknesses (include skills/abilities in strengths): Philiph is a slightly above average swordsman, to the knight standards, he still has a lot to learn, but to compensate his weakness in the art of fighting, he wins even before the fight has even started. Philiph is an excellent strategist and good in dealing with people, but very often slips one offense or another in form of sarcasm.
Character Biography (Must be at least three paragraphs in length, include any memorable events):
Philiph was born in a simple village in the kingdom of Redenia, his father was a retired knight of Redenia from an old and respected family, the Salavenors. Philiph was the youngest of three brothers and two sisters, his father always enjoyed to teach their sons how to fight, but most importantly, when to fight and what`s worth of fighting for. Philiph had a harsh childhood, he was the weakest brother, but for some reason, his mother seems to favor him for his intellect. One day, she decided to teach him how to read and write. Instead of training to be a warrior, Philiph was educated to become a knight. He never wanted to be a knight; he always wanted to be strong like his brothers.
After some years, Philiph was 15, he learned a lot about all kinds of subjects and grew intellectually, while his brothers seemed to think like a 6 years old boy. Obviously, Philiph improved his skills with the sword, but he was still unskilled in comparison to his brothers, who were already in the Redenian army. One day, his father decided to send him away from the village to the Capital of Redania, where one of his friends would train him in the ways of the knight. It wasn`t a long journey, Philiph traveled with a caravan of merchants who were heavily guarded by professional troops. When Philiph reached the capital, his jaw dropped, but he had no time to gaze at the city, for he was already in constant training and didn`t even had time to breathe. The training was too harsh for a boy who was raised in a small farming village.
Philiph somehow managed to endure the years training and barely made it alive out of the constant training sessions, but before he could be considered a knight, his master decided to make Philiph as his own squire. Philiph followed his master for two years until a small group of bandits ambushed them in the roads of Redania. Philiph and his master fought side by side but the odds were stacked against them, realizing that Philiph wasn`t skilled with the sword, his master yelled at him to grab a key in his pocket and run back to the Capital. Instead of doing what a knight would do, Philiph ran like a scared peasant back to the Capital, leaving his master behind to death. He walked across the streets with his face fulfilled with regrets and gone back to the barracks, where his friends that endured with him the years of harsh training awaited good news, Philiph walked ashamed into the barracks and explained the situation to his friends.
He had lost all his honor and respect in just one day, he was humiliated by almost the entire city, locked in a cage for days, he would never forget that day. The one thing that he had left was the key. After a week or so, he was released from his cage and sneaked into the barracks into his master`s room. The key opened a small chest where he found his family`s signature armor decorated by an image of the sun. Philiph dressed his armor, grabbed a sword from the barracks and went back into the exact same place where his master died. His body was still there, no one bothered to recover to body for a decent burial. As expected by Philiph, the bandits assaulted him brutally, but in the end of the day, in the gates of the Capital, a man walks back carrying a rotten body with several heads tied to his belt. And falls exhausted, but happy, for he had redeemed himself.
Scenarios:
1. You are traveling along the roads of Redania when a bandit jumps out in front of you. He claims several of his fellows are hiding in the brush beside the road, and if you value your life, to drop all the valuables you possess.
What do you do? (Enact roleplay; conversation, actions, etc)
“Yes, I do value my life, thank you for asking, but my good sir, what makes you think that you and your friends with rusty swords can beat a fully armed group of knights?” Philiph held the hilt of his sword.
“Oh, really, a group? I don`t see it.” The bandit looks around, mocking Philiph.
“Hm…Interesting…Perhaps we might come to an agreement. Let`s supposed I am alone, right?”
“Speak quickly.”
“Even if I am alone, I could easily take down two of you. Do you think it is worth it?”
“For your armor, yes.”
“One: This armor is heavier than any of you. Two: If a fight starts, you are going to be the first. You know if I am going to die in this road, you are coming with me.”
The bandit realized he could not actually beat a fully armored knight, he might been fooled or saved by Philiph`s words. After some seconds, he moves aside, Philiph slowly walks down the road, staring at the bandit and ready for any kind of combat, but fortunately, they decided to not take risks.
2. You are inside a small inn enjoying a tankard of ale when an obviously intoxicated ( -drunk) man stumbles into you. He gestures at you rudely and tells you to watch where you’re going.
What do you do? (Enact roleplay; conversation, actions, etc)
“Sorry, it is hard to distinguish you dirt from the ground.” Philiph looks around and decides to calmly walk away from the man, but he stills insists into an argument and is determined to fight Philiph.
“You…you what, mate? Did you called me dirty?”
“Not dirty, I have already seen worse, but, you are not on your best condition. Hun?”
“Uh…What?”
“Do you realize the airspeed velocity of a Redanian swallow is faster than the swallows from the south?” Philiph turned his head around and seemed to talk into nothing
“Uh…What…mate?”
Philiph turns his head back to the drunk man. “I was not talking to you. Go grab another beer or something liked.”
The extremely drunk and confused man slowly walks away from Philiph, forgetting everything that just happened like magic.
3. You are at the market when you come upon a stall selling some particularly interesting wares. You decide to buy one, and the owner of the stall names a rather outrageous price.
What do you do? (Enact roleplay; conversation, actions, etc)
“Seriously, good sir? Do you think you can fool me like you do with these plebs? This is not even worth twenty five coins.”
“I gave you a price, it`s up to you to accept it or not, my good Knight.”
“Hm…I don`t really need your business, you know, you need mine. And are you honestly selling books in the plebian market? You don`t really seem to be a really reliable source of trade.”
“Sir, how much are you willing to pay for it then?”
“Let me think…Look my friend, I think I might know the reason why your specific business is not going well as expected, I can see a lot of other products that the plebs might be interested, but instead of showing them what they want, you give them books at unfair prices. I will pay fifty for all those books.”
The merchants thinks for seconds, but agrees on Philiph`s price, there`s not a lot that could go wrong by following the advice of a knight.

Character Name: Hogan Tolrin Character Age: 33 Character Gender: male Character Race, human/elf/dwarf (or a mix): Human Character Appearance (Facial features, build, clothing, etc): Brown messy hair and matching thin beard. His eyes are the same color but his build is not as hard as his face. He has a slimmer but muscular build that makes him more quick than strong. He has a green over coat and a blue tee shirt under, his tan pants are dirty and worn but his brown boots look rather new. Character Personality (How your character acts): Hogan has a thirst for knowledge, nothing quite gets him as excited than finding out some piece of knowledge never heard or treasure so lost that time had forgotten it. He is the kind of guy that will take a long, hard, brutal journeys pay, and waste it all buying the tavern rounds and drinking the night away. While Hogan is at the quest for knowledge on the top, with a little digging you would see that he is the very essence of, "It's not about the destination, but the journey." Character Strengths/Weaknesses (include skills/abilities in strengths): Strengths would be mobility, not needing much as he usually is on the move for some new quest/dig. He also has learned how to survive out in the wild, knowing of wildlife and how to truly use his surroundings. Weaknesses would be his strength, he is not the strongest man in the club by a far shot, but he knows how to use what he has. He has a very big tendency of getting into trouble and forgetting about it, usually someone will call him out on something bad he did in the past and he will have no idea. Character Biography (Must be at least three paragraphs in length, include any memorable events): At a young age Hogan was a explorer. At the ripe age of 7 he wandered away from his parents while they shopped at a market. He wandered so far away that he was lost for 2 whole weeks. After the first 2 days alone, Hogan started to learn that he could find vegetation to eat from the trees and bushes. He learned how to make a nice bed out of the tops of trees. He took to surviving in nature like any of the other animals.
Soon he found a cave, something in him screamed that he had to explore, so he did. Climbing deeper into the cave he would jump from ledge to ledge, sneak his way past the spiders. To any other 7 year old it would be terrifying, to Hogan though, he lived for this. The feeling of adreniline pumping and the thought that there could be something worth wile at the end of all this, it made him feel alive. Sadly at the end of the tunnel was nothing more than a rock, still it was his treasure and he keeps that rock on him still to this day. After making his way out of the cave he could hear his mother and father calling his name, he was scolded for running away but he knew that this would be his life from now on. As he grew up he spent a lot of his time either trying to get history books or exploring. He would get into a lot of trouble as he would be found in places he wouldn't be.
When he finally came of age to leave his home he took up a job as a bartender at a local pub. He told himself that it would be a temp job, that this place would be nothing but a stop to get him some money and send him out to his dream. Days turned into weeks, weeks to months. Soon he was 25 and still working at the bar, he hated his life, serving ale and hearing people laugh and seeing them smile. It killed him to see that he threw his life away cause he needed a little money. One day though he realized how wrong this all was, he was working to rent a room so he could get to his work, but no more. He spent two weeks as a child living in trees and off the life of the land. If he could do it back then, then why not now. So without another word he jumped the bar and walked out the doors. Without another word he took off to live his life.
Scenarios:
1. You are traveling along the roads of Redania when a bandit jumps out in front of you. He claims several of his fellows are hiding in the brush beside the road, and if you value your life, to drop all the valuables you possess.
What do you do? (Enact roleplay; conversation, actions, etc) When the bandit jumps out I trip out of suprise. Grabbing a handful of dirt as I slowly stand. "Drop what I got?" I dig in my pockets and pull out a ragged apple. "That's about it friend, but you should come grab it as I'm sure you don't want me to drop it." I say handing the apple out. I carefully watch the bandit inch closer, as soon as he gets within reaching distance I throw the dirt at his eyes. with the bottom of my fist I knock the sword out of his hand. Coming closer my knee meets his groin, knocking him to the ground. I reach over and pick up the sword, holding it to his throat. "If you had people in the bushes, you wouldn't confront me alone. Try range next time." I say as I kick him in the head, knocking him out. Dropping the sword I start to walk off, but quickly turn back as I hustle over to his stomach, grabbing the apple. "My apple.."
2. You are inside a small inn enjoying a tankard of ale when an obviously intoxicated ( -drunk) man stumbles into you. He gestures at you rudely and tells you to watch where you’re going.
What do you do? (Enact roleplay; conversation, actions, etc) Hogan looks up from his mug to see that the man is obviously bigger and stronger and drunker than him. With a sip of his ale Hogan wraps his arm around the mans shoulder. "My appoligies my friend! You're right I'm all over the place, but you know what, that means that you aren't as drunk as me, and you should be!" Hogan turns to the bartender, "Bar Keep, a whole round for these wonderful people, get them as drunk as me! YAHHHH!!"
3. You are at the market when you come upon a stall selling some particularly interesting wares. You decide to buy one, and the owner of the stall names a rather outrageous price.
What do you do? (Enact roleplay; conversation, actions, etc)"Come now friend, I'm a traveling man, I've been from the east to the west and back again and I've never seen a price for such a item like that." Hogan looks around. "Tell you what friend, I know that this piece will be here in the morn with a price like that, so I'll see you at sunrise, maybe you'll have a change of heart then." With a wink Hogan turns to start the other way, waiting for the shop keep to yell him back.
How long have you been a part of our community?: For a few weeks, I'd have joined the site and been active by now but alas - I couldn't find one.
How often can you be online?: Usually available if needed from 3:30 PM - 10:30 PM. However, 3:30 - 5:30 is often a bit rocky depending on my schedule, during the summer however - I gain an increase in time.
What experience do you have in roleplaying?: I have roleplayed for around five and a half years now - and I have simply fallen in love with it. I began on Halo Custom Edition - the unlikeliest of platforms. However, the platform was failing and it faltered in a year and a half. After this I left for Starcraft II - in which I continued roleplay for around another year and a half. Afterwards - I floated from game to game for a year, until I began roleplay on Minecraft. I have been roleplaying for about a year and a half on Minecraft. Starting on the server Eurasia - going through not two, but three versions of the server. And just recently left/took a break from one of my favorites - Uthrandir. I have no outstanding bans in any Roleplay server to my knowledge and plan to keep it that way.
What experience do you have in administering/moderating?: I have moderated on two small servers owned by Avamansui - both have since closed. Along with being a moderator on two towny servers.
Why should you be an RP moderator?: Simply because I have some skill in roleplay, writing, and show the possibility to become a good moderator.
Define powergaming: Powergaming - The dictating of another character's actions; often to benefit ones self.
Define metagaming: Metagaming - Using out of character information that your character does not know in character. Also often used for ones benefit.
List, in your view, the five most important rules:
No Powergaming - By far the most important rule established in a roleplay server. Un-Moderated roleplay is often terribly scoured by powergaming.
No Metagaming - Second to powergaming, this brings OOC conflict IC, and causes major problems.
Conflicts are RP PvP Default - Limitation of PvP prevents tedious PvP reports and issues.
Respect your fellow players and staff members - Respect is one of the biggest issues on a roleplay server; without respect there cannot be roleplay.
Killing without provocation - This would allow characters to be mercilessly slaughtered by other, more powerful ones without a second thought. Or just generate problems in general out of characterly.
Scenarios:
1. Two players are having an altercation over an IC action. What are your steps to resolve it?:
First, I would talk to other observers and see if there is any logical proof. If neither are available - I'd talk to both individuals.
Second, I'd review both of their cases; and maybe present it to a few others whilst checking my memory to see if there was past incidents with the players.
Third, I'd resolve the issue; either letting the players off with warnings or finding out whom is responsible for the mess.
2. A player is clearly powergaming, but no one seems to mind. What do you do?:
I approach the player, calmly stating what he is doing, and how he should properly roleplay. If I see him repeat those actions I correct him again. If he continues - I would kick him; with a warning. If he further continues to do so - a ban must happen. Temporary or full.
3. Several players claim they are from another land not included in the lore and begin roleplaying. What do you do?:
I tell them to hold off roleplaying such land until it is cleared by staff or until apropriate lore is written. I'd also ask that their characters do not have the strengths they have in their past continent. If they cannot be inducted into the server - I ask that they remake their characters in this server.
4. Several players form a House without permission. What do you do?:
Initially ask that the House disband without any staff interaction needed. If they do not disperse then I bring in staff to assist dispersing. Actions would be taken to prevent the House from reforming until they obtained permission.
5. A player is confused on several aspects of roleplay. What do you do to help him?:
Initially, I find a guide to roleplaying - or teach him a few things about it myself. I'd then show him proper grammar and how to roleplay. I'd also have him re-look at our original post; as it gives many good ideas with what roleplay is about.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Evil cannot see good, but good can always see evil.
What experience do you have in roleplaying?: Well over five years of experience playing Dungeons and Dragons, Minecraft RP, forum and Skype RP, etc.
Have you read and accepted the rules?: Yes
What is the rule you agree with the most? The rule regarding realistic roleplay, and roleplaying your job and character realistically. Many Minecraft RP servers do not do this.
How did you find the server?: Recommended to it by Zealot.
Why should you be whitelisted? I absolutely love to RP! I'm a very serious RPer and a friendly guy. Furthermore, my experience with RP and my excellent writing skills (not to brag ) will be an asset to the server.
Define powergaming:
Two different definitions. I don't know which one the server follows, so I'll put both.
1. Performing actions that are overpowered in order to gain an edge in RP. For example, performing multiple actions on one turn without the necessary emotes.
2. Maximizing how powerful your player is while minimizing all of their negative traits, in order to be deliberately overpowered (eg min-maxing)
Define metagaming: The failure to divide in-character knowledge from out-of-character knowledge. For example, something you read on the forums should not be known in-character (unless there was a reason they should, for example, if it was a flier or letter.)
Who was the first king of Redania?: Kurgan D'Arco
Why did the great dwarven kingdom collapse?: The Dwarves lusted over the "Orb of Chaos", causing in-fighting, murder and general mutiny in the kingdom.
Who are the Jarr?: Nomadic dark Elves from a nation that they called Jar'ral. They revered dragons and became wanderers who searched for them.
IC
Character Name: Wolfric Rainon
Character Age: 21
Character Gender: Male
Character Race, human/elf/dwarf (or a mix): Human
Character Appearance (Facial features, build, clothing, etc): A tall man who wears a beige-coloured tunic fitting of a hunter. He has blonde hair and blue eyes. If you look very closely, you can see a scar under his right eye.
Character Personality (How your character acts): Wolfric is frequently bold and to the point: he is a no-nonsense guy. Though people close to him see him as a nice guy, it would be easy to see him as a selfish, stuck-up man who wants money more than anything else. Ultimately, Wolfric wants goodness in the world, so long as nobody tells him what to do. In DND terms, he would likely be either True Neutral or Chaotic Good (though I'll let the RP dictate where he goes with that).
Character Strengths/Weaknesses (include skills/abilities in strengths):
STRENGTHS
-Excellent bowman.
-Is trained in tracking both humans and animals.
-Excellent sense of direction.
-Some training in herbology.
-First aid training.
WEAKNESSES
-Cowardly: will run from a challenge that is too great for him.
-Extremely Greedy: Money will get you far, when it comes to Wolfric...perhaps even out of a killing.--Injured easily: Due to Wolfric being a human, he is injured more easily than others, and tends to stay that way.
-No sword training: Wolfric knows how to use a sword, but he is more likely to hurt himself than the enemy.
-Poor: Perhaps Wolfric's biggest concern is money. As a hunter, he is constantly out of money, which make anything more than a nomadic or "survival-based" existence very difficult for him.
Character Biography (Must be at least three paragraphs in length, include any memorable events):
Wolfric was born just outside of Redania, in a farm near the woods. His father was a woodcutter, and his mother was a potter in the city. The boy’s early life, for the most part, was simple. He would help his father out with the woodcutting and general work around the small farm, and would have dinner with his mother when she returned. He had a brother and sister, Marcus and Sophia, to keep him company. He was the youngest of his family. Wolfric attended school long enough to learn how to read and write properly, but was pulled out due to his family needing him to help around the farm.
Wolfric decided to become a hunter when, one day, a large black bear attacked the Rainon farmhouse. His father, who was once an axeman for the militia, was off cutting trees, leaving Wolfric, his mother and his brother Marcus to fend for themselves. With help from his brother Marcus, the two young men fought off the bear and prevented any harm to the farmhouse. It was during this attack that Wolfric obtained a huge scar over his left eye, which has stayed with him for many years. This incident inspired Wolfric and Marcus both to become hunters. It was also around this time that Marcus (the oldest brother of the Rainon household) began to teach Wolfric how to use a bow-and-arrow. The rest of the skills that Wolfric learned, such as herbalism, were learned from practice out in the wilds.
Wolfric and Marcus left the farmstead shortly after Wolfric’s seventeenth birthday. The two traveled the countryside, taking bounties for not only animals, but also for people who had broken the law. Wolfric and his brother became very well known. However, with this renown came enemies. Wolfric’s brother, Marcus, was severely wounded in a bandit attack and later died of his wounds. With his brother dead, Wolfric is willing to do whatever it takes to take down bandits, orc and pirates…even if it means breaking the law himself.
Scenarios:
(Note that in these scenarios, I pretended that I was both parts. Me speaking as the bandit, drunk and/or merchant should not be interpreted as me godmodding or powergaming, but rather as how I would react if I were those characters.)
1. You are traveling along the roads of Redania when a bandit jumps out in front of you. He claims several of his fellows are hiding in the brush beside the road, and if you value your life, to drop all the valuables you possess. What do you do? (Enact roleplay; conversation, actions, etc):
"Gimme all yer money, lad, or me 'an me mates 'er gonna spill yer guts all over the road!" The bandit sneers at Wolfric, his axe raised aloft.
Wolfric looks all around, and gestures to the half-empty road.
"Mates? What mates?"
"Thar righ' thar, near the bushes!" The bandit said, pointing.
"HA!", Wolfric says, a huge smile on his face. He brushed his gorgeous blonde lashes aside and gives a curt nod to the bandit. "You seem very confident, but your lies will be the end of you. Look to the ground."
"Wha'?" the bandit says, narrowing his eyes at Wolfric. "This ain' onna yer tricks, is i'?"
"Oh no, sir, no!" Wolfric said in a sincere voice, chuckling slightly. "I just wanted to point out your mistake, so you don't make it next time."
With a great grumble, the bandit looked to the ground, concentrating very hard on it. After a moment or two, he looked up and into Wolfric's eyes.
"BLOODY 'ELL, wha' am I s'pposed to be lookin' at?!"
"The footsteps, my good man! The footsteps! Don't you see them?"
The bandit rolls his eyes, scoffing. "Well why didn' yeh--YES I SEE THE FOOTSTEPS!
"Wolfric tried extremely hard not to laugh, but a smirk grew on his face nonetheless. While the bandit was concentrated on the ground, he circled around the bandit, trying to look as if he's getting a closer look at the footsteps. "How many pairs of footsteps are leading into the bushes?"
"Well thar ain' no footsteps, yeh sod."
"Yes, lad, yes. See, this is something I would notice as a tracker, that you wouldn't notice as a bandit. You ought to be giving me coin for the advice I'm giving you."
"Hmph."
"Look closer...do you see the big mark in the middle of the footprint?"
"Yeh, yeh I see", the bandit said earnestly, rubbing the back of his head.
"Do you know what it means?"
"Well, I--"
Wolfric gives the bandit a hard kick on the back, trying to kick him down and onto his face. He begins to run as fast as he can, cackling the whole way. He shouts over his shoulder, "Never turn your back on your prey!"
2.You are inside a small inn enjoying a tankard of ale when an obviously intoxicated ( -drunk) man stumbles into you. He gestures at you rudely and tells you to watch where you’re going. What do you do? (Enact roleplay; conversation, actions, etc)
Wolfric's drink is spilled out of his hands and all over his brand new wolf pelt as a drunk stumbles past him, bumping into his arm.
"Watch where you're going, you stupid piece of dragon dung!", the drunk shouted loudly. He took another swig of his half-finished pint glass full of mead.
Wolfric grits his teeth and rises to face the man, seeing that he was drunk. He always hated dealing with these types of men: no matter what you said to them, they always had some half-assed response to give. Well, this particular drunk had ruined Wolfric's day, and he was going to show this drunk exactly what he thought of it.
Wolfric, in a show of quick submissive ability that comes from years of getting into bar fights, grabs the man's arm. The drunk squeals in pain just as Wolfric slams him face-first onto the table, twisting his arm with a fair bit of pressure. The few inhabitants of the small tavern look on, some giving disapproving stares to Wolfric.
Wolfric gives the drunk's arm a slight twist and leans over. He speaks to the drunk in a low, but firm voice...
"You owe me twenty gold for the wolf pelt and two gold for the drink."
The drunk winces and nods quickly. He tries not to move too much, as each move makes his arm hurt more and more. "Alright! Alright! Just let go of my arm!"
Wolfric complies, giving the drink a smile. The drunk reaches into his coinpurse and slaps some coins on the table. Before the drunk can leave, Wolfric snatches his half-finished drink out of his hands. The drunk is too intoxicated to notice it slide out of his hands. He goes to take a drink, and finally realizes the glass is missing.
"Oh, for me?!" the blonde-haired man says, taking a huge swig out of the pint glass. "Oh, you shouldn't have!"
The drunk mutters angrily to himself before heading to a different part of the bar, staying as far away from Wolfric as possible. Wolfric sits back down with a victorious smile, drinking out of the pint glass.
3. You are at the market when you come upon a stall selling some particularly interesting wares. You decide to buy one, and the owner of the stall names a rather outrageous price. What do you do? (Enact roleplay; conversation, actions, etc)
Wolfric sets his eyes on something special being sold at a stall in the marketplace: a yew bow that would be just perfect for hunting game. Wolfric walks confidently up to the owner of the general store.
"Pardon me", he says to the stall owner, a tall dark-skinned elf.The man gives him a half-hearted nod in return. The shop owner looks like he doesn’t want to be there. "I wish to buy that yew bow you have there, in that display."
The shop owner crosses his arms, thinking for a moment. He breathes in and exhales deeply. "Not for sale."
"...but it's on display", Wolfric says with a frown.
"It is special piece. Not for sale” the elf repeats, looking somewhat frustrated.
"Would one hundred gold change your mind?” Wolfric says, starting to gather all of the money in his coinpurse.
The stall owner sighs irritably, and finally makes an offer. “One thousand.” The man makes the offer without a single change in his expression. He taps his foot impatiently.
“O-one thousand? Gold?” Wolfric says incredulously. He makes a great effort to close his mouth, which was held agape with shock.
“You got other currency?” the man said sarcastically. “We only take gold.”
“What makes this piece soooo special, enough to warrant a price like that? It looks like an ordinary bow!”
The shop owner scoffs. “It is regular bow. Just don’t wanna give you it...human." The shop owner smirks. "One thousand gold. You pay, right?”
“That is outrageous! That is highway robbery!” Wolfric says.
“Fine, then! Nine hundred ninety nine. I am busy man: I cannot stand around all day arguing.”
Wolfric leans in close towards the stall owner. “Maybe the guards ought to know about your fraud.”
“Maybe. Maybe not. Guards busy, too. You buying, or leaving? Make choice.”
Wolfric growled at the man, pointing accusingly. “You, sir, are a common charlatan!” The stall owner simply shrugged. Wolfric made a mental note to return to the man’s stall in the dead of night to steal the yew bow.

What is your age: 15
What is your timezone:MDT (Mountain Daylight Time)
What experience do you have in roleplaying?: Old school D&D from age 9 on-wards, began role-playing 3 years ago, could not really settle on a server until hitting Eurasia, and playing through 3 versions of the server, than playing on Uthrandir until recently.
Have you read and accepted the rules?: Yes
What is the rule you agree with the most?: The rule I most agree with would most likely be that the victor of the battle decides what happens to whoever lost. This is more realistic than having Death-consenting or the loser deciding, which is what many servers do.
How did you find the server?: A friend of mine who has recently applied to join the server.
Why should you be whitelisted?: I have been on a hunt for a new roleplay server to join, and have plenty of experience in roleplay. I am good at keeping groups together- or putting them back together- should i feel a need to do so. This can be a very useful skill in a starting out roleplay server as it helps create a steady player base.
Define powergaming: Powergaming is forcing actions against another player. As so if in real life you would not instantly kill someone.. take their money and walk away /grammarfail. Here is an example of powergame. /me slices you in half, obviously you can not instantly slice someone in half. If they have a weapon they could parry it, if they have HEAVY armor they wouldn't be sliced in half, probably just cut or so.
Define metagaming: The act of using outside or previously gained knowledge within a gaming universe for personal gain or advantage.
Who was the first king of Redania?: Kurgan D'Arco
Why did the great dwarven kingdom collapse?: The Dwarven kingdom collapsed due to the strange orb that was found when the dwarves had mined too far down. The King who was on his deathbed as the orb was found warned against looking into it, claiming that it contained evil. The next king ignored this warning and had the orb brought to him at once. The king began acting insane, talking to people when no-one was there. He began learning old magics, and became masters. The dwarves began fighting, and destroyed themselves.
Who are the Jarr?: The Jarr were a race of desert elves with dark skin who built grand desert cities, only to be driven out by a terrible plague, which altered them. They were nomads until they were found by the Redanians and led back to the main continent, where they interbred until the darkness was gone from their skin.

Character Name: Isanii Minikoo
Character Age: 37
Character Gender: Male
Character Race, human/elf/dwarf (or a mix): Elf
Character Appearance (Facial features, build, clothing, etc): Sharp nose, sly eyes with a slight smirk. He is fairy tall, but he is by no means a weakling, looking like he is made of wire. He wears plain leather clothes, with tight fitting pants, hunting boots, and a leather jerkin.
Character Personality (How your character acts): Isanii acts smug and is a bit of an , but is very open-minded. He sees all people as a way of amusement, but does not discriminate against any group.
Character Strengths/Weaknesses (include skills/abilities in strengths): Great with a bow and moderately good with a sword, agile and moves very fast.
Character Biography (Must be at least three paragraphs in length, include any memorable events):
Isanii starts his story in the kingdom. He had no parents, and refused to enter an orphanage. He lived out on the streets, and learned that he had to be strong to survive. He had to be fast to run from those too strong, and that it was easier to shoot someone with a bow than it was to fight them with fists or a sword. He lived by this, and became stronger, making people fear him through an overly-confident attitude, and lots of bluffing. He could not fight large groups, but could hold his own against most thugs wandering the streets.
Isanii could not help but be drawn back out of the streets, as he realized, that he had a talent for bluffing, and could use it to be part of regular -or semi-regular- society. He started out simply going around inns and making a reputation for himself, claiming all sorts of feats of agility and killing. He had figured he would see if he had a talent for an assassin, or simply as a spy. It worked, but this was not a good thing. Organizations saw him as a threat and an asset both. He had to run, lest people would start sending assassins of their own to make sure he could not help their competitors.
He ran in order to survive the onslaught of the other assassins, and realized, he would have to be more discreet. He would have to take on an honest job in order to seem innocent, and so he could provide for himself should his plans fail. He decided on becoming a hunter. He had an excuse to travel, He could gather food, and he could have a steady source of money. He decided He would only do business, if he was guaranteed anonymity in writing, and a well written contract being signed. This gave him protection from any who wished to harm him, and let him move freely in the open daylight when not on a contract.
Scenarios:
1. You are traveling along the roads of Redania when a bandit jumps out in front of you. He claims several of his fellows are hiding in the brush beside the road, and if you value your life, to drop all the valuables you possess.
What do you do? (Enact roleplay; conversation, actions, etc) “So, you have friends waiting in the bushes? I wonder if my friends have taken care of them yet. Isanii looks around and seems to listed a little to the bushes. “No noise then, I guess your “friends” weren’t as tough as you may have thought. I suggest you begin running now, lest the bow on my back lose an arrow to the blood in your heart.”
2. You are inside a small inn enjoying a tankard of ale when an obviously intoxicated ( -drunk) man stumbles into you. He gestures at you rudely and tells you to watch where you’re going.
What do you do? (Enact roleplay; conversation, actions, etc)
” Well, I should watch where –I- am going? I think I will, so that idiotic drunks like you don’t dirty me. Go sober up you great drunken fool.”
3. You are at the market when you come upon a stall selling some particularly interesting wares. You decide to buy one and the owner of the stall names a rather outrageous price. “Hmm, that much, for this little trinket? I think you best lower your price, as if you don’t, you should be wary of the quality of your good comes into question with the guard.” Isanii smiles slyly, “If you just lower yourself down to say… 20 gold, I might not let word of it reach the rest of the citizens in the market.”
Minecraft username: SpiritedMelody What is your age: 13 What is your timezone: CST { U.S. } What experience do you have in roleplaying?: I've roleplayed a few times on other forums, tumblr, and another wonderful MC RP server that is still running. Have you read and accepted the rules?: Absolutely ~ What is the rule you agree with the most?: I want to say all of them, haha. I'll go with using a skin that matches your character, because I think it would be kind of annoying to have, say, a knight with a Nyan Cat skin. How did you find the server?: Just browsing through the forums here, and your pretty title caught my eye. Why should you be whitelisted?: I like to think that I'm not a bad person, so I wouldn't be any trouble, though I can sometimes be kinda snarky and weird, hehe. Combining Minecraft and roleplaying would make for possible friends, definitely some fun times, and good experience in rping. :3 Define powergaming: Not being fair in IC actions, ex: winning a battle without even giving the opponent a chance to react. Define metagaming: Using OOC knowledge to gain an advantage IC. Who are the Jarr?: An ancient civilization of dark-skinned elves who were, at one point, attacked by an awful plague, forcing them to become wanderers. However, they are soon taken under the wing of the Redanian. With the time of a thousand years, after interbreeding, the Jarr and Redanian were soon almost exactly alike, the only notable difference being the dark skin of the former.

Character Name: Raine Aurelia Lupus Character Age: 10 years old Character Gender: Female Character Race, human/elf/dwarf (or a mix): Human / Elf Character Appearance (Facial features, build, clothing, etc.):
Raine is a simple young girl with long, wavy, raven colored hair that reaches down to her waist. Because of her age, she might be easily underestimated for her strength, as most of it seems to be physically ‘hidden.’ She is quite thin with classic elf ears, a creamy complexion, and striking azure eyes. A smile seems to be rare to show up on rosy lips, but they are usually warm and genuine.
The 10-year-old is almost always wearing a comfortable green tunic layered on top of what seems to be a simple dress that is a light auburn color, all of it held together by a sturdy silver belt. Her boots are a matching green and brown that bear no designs either, only allowing the girl to hold her ground, if need be. Her fingers are slender with hands adorned with gloves that only help her strong grip.
Character Personality (How your character acts):
Raine is a quiet, yet kind child who is easygoing and eager to please. While she may be seen as reserved or solemn, this is only because she thinks the phrase ‘children should be seen and not heard’ applies at all times. However, she is not only curious and sweet, but loyal and patient, topped off with a sense of adventure. A lover of music, the girl proves her elf ancestry true with her passion for instruments and the like. Raine is well-mannered and trusting to anyone who she crosses paths with, making her an easy target to manipulate.
However, despite her optimistic and naive attitude on almost everything, Raine can be quite reckless and can be known for setting her mind to something and not backing down without a good fight, no matter the odds. Independent (being offered help seems to strike a sensitive point), reckless (this doesn’t seem like it’s going to change any time soon), and topped by the occasional case of envy (have you heard of the power the heroes in stories have?), the 10-year-old strives to be the best warrior, explorer, and companion she can be, while still trying to be the polite little miss she always has
Character Strengths/Weaknesses (include skills/abilities in strengths):
WEAKNESSES: ·Reckless ·Gullible ·Stubborn ·Damaging pride ·Envious
Character Biography (Must be at least three paragraphs in length, include any memorable events):
Raine Aurelia Lupus is the daughter of a human and an elf - but that’s all she is able to remember*. At a young age, something drastic had happened to her parents that caused them to give her away to a close friend, who would become her mentor, guardian, and the one person she looked up to. The friend’s name was Aenith, and, for as long as Raine could remember, he never really took a liking to the girl, viewing her solely as wasted potential, with a simple plan on changing that.
Raine and Aenith lived on the outskirts of Hinterstoder, where it was relatively warmer than the town itself, but still brutal. While the older elf was used to it, Raine found that she was not a fan of the cold, and Aenith would use this information to his advantage. At a young age, the elf had the girl bringing in piles of wood needed to make a fire for the cottage in which the two lived in, while he watched her with amusement from the warm indoors.
He had her start the fire herself, he had her prepare some of the meals they ate, he had her clean his weapons. Aenith called it training, and when asked ‘for what’, it was for the real world. So Raine never had the nerve to complain, and slowly accustomed herself to harsh weather and chores (which included cooking lessons, survival tips, going shopping, and learning to become a respectful young 5-year-old).
It wasn’t long before those chores turned into sparring lessons. At the age of 7, on a relatively sunny day, Aenith had called her down to the basement, where she found that the elf had created dummies - and handed her a wooden sword, expecting her to rip them apart by the end of the next month. And so it went, the older man mercilessly training the little girl in sword arts lessons that she secretly enjoyed. In three year’s time, the ravenette soon knew how to stab, swing, dodge - you name it, and it was more than likely she had been taught it.
As time progressed and Raine’s enjoyment and skills in the lessons increased, the elf soon trusted her to do practice on her own while he left to the nearby Hinterstoder for who knows what. All of these events had sparked a dream in Raine, and she would typically pretend that she was the greatest swordsman (woman?) alive, swinging her weapon and slicing the target dummy in half with brute force. She wanted to be the best, the very best, better than Aenith himself - and she could only do so by practicing every single day.
The next three years passed peacefully, despite the child having no actual friends or the like, although she was friendly with the townspeople. The somewhat strict teacher/student relationship between Aenith and Raine had loosened, and on the day before her 10th birthday, Aenith had even promised to buy her a present, deliberately refusing to tell on what he was giving, chuckling ever so slightly at Raine’s pouts and pleadings. “Hey.” he had spoken lightly, offering the young girl a small smile. “I keep promises, alright? You don’t have to worry about it.” Raine had paused before laughing cheerily, her mood considerably brightening. A second later, she had realized that she heard the tea whistling from the nearby kitchen and bolted away, leaving Aenith with a tinier, more forceful smile.
Raine had been unable to fall asleep in anticipation of what the present would be, as Aenith had never done these kinds of things before - and willingly. Different scenarios ran through the child's mind. Perhaps it was a joke.. Maybe he was just trying to mess with her head (again). But what if he really meant it? Would she truly be getting something, just for her? The ravenette had tossed and turned, falling asleep only during the wee hours of the morning. Yet, her guardian and mentor had not come to wake her up at the time he normally did, so the greatest-warrior-in-training slept in, waking up during mid afternoon quite confused. Somewhat excited that she was now of 10 years, she had slept in for the possible first time in her short life, and a present was waiting for her, the girl threw on her favorite outfit, slipped on her boots and gloves, and bolted downstairs, but still found no sign of Aenith.
Bewildered, Raine began to scout around the house, calling the elf’s name, but to no avail. After more minutes of searching and still not even a note, the girl began to panic. Where was he? What happened? Was he okay? Was this the present, him leaving her all alone forever and ever? “No..” the 10-year-old had murmured to herself, half trying to convince herself, “he wouldn’t leave me.” Perhaps he had just went for a walk. Yeah. All she would need to do is wait.
Time progressed, but Aenith never returned home. The ravenette, out of stubbornness, debated with herself on whether or not to go out and look for him before finally choosing to do so. Bittersweetly slipping on the most comfortable outfit she had, along with a few coins and a snack or two. Raine had decided on bringing a small knifes along, just to be safe - and Aenith could get mad if she bolted off with one of his swords, anyway. So she set off on the road to nowhere, always looking around for any sign of her beloved and trusted guardian. He couldn't just leave her.. right?
Scenarios:
1. You are traveling along the roads of Redania when a bandit jumps out in front of you. He claims several of his fellows are hiding in the brush beside the road, and if you value your life, to drop all the valuables you possess.
What do you do? (Enact roleplay; conversation, actions, etc.)
Raine felt her face go blank as she stared intently at the man in front of her. “Hey, kid, I said I got me s’m men, y’hear?!” The bandit barked, tightening his fists and an eyebrow twitch. The ravenette absently looked around before meeting eyes with the thief again. “Are you.. robbing me?” she asked suddenly, her voice laced with innocence. “Wh - yes, y’brat! Hand over everythin' y'got, right now!” the bandit barked out again, more frustrated than before. A sarcastic smile instantly appears on the girl’s face. “Ohhh.” Raine murmured after a moment’s pause, her hand instantly moving to the helm of her knife before freezing.
She couldn’t waste the knife’s durability on something so silly as this. This man wasn't worth her time. He wasn't worth it, he wasn't worth it - and hesitantly, the ravenette let go of her weapon before swiftly turning around and starting to walk.
“Where the hell d’you THINK you’re going?!” the thief growled at once, but Raine was able to tell that he was becoming a bit confused. “M - My crew and I’ll beat the outta you, y’hear me?!” he yelled even louder, making the 10-year-old grimace and instinctively reach for her knife yet again. “It was nice meeting you.” Raine answered dully, feeling somewhat remorse at her own actions. Preparing to fight and then backing out.. tsk, tsk. Before the bandit was able to do anything else, the little warrior bolted off without another word.
Raine gave a nod of self-praise to herself as she continued at a slower pace through the woods in which she was in. Best not to get herself in bloodshed.. not yet, at least. Not yet.
2. You are inside a small inn enjoying a tankard of ale when an obviously intoxicated ( -drunk) man stumbles into you. He gestures at you rudely and tells you to watch where you’re going.
What do you do? (Enact roleplay; conversation, actions, etc.)
Raine glanced at the man with curiosity, raising a brow. “Oh.” she stated simply, simply taking another sip of the drink she had received (whatever it was, it was good). “‘Oh’?! Whaddya mean, ‘oh’!?” the drunkard pointed a stubby finger to the ravenette, but the 10-year-old simply continued paying him no mind and stared at her reflection in her drink. “I’ll have y’know that you can get - hic! - in biiiig trouble with me, missie!” the drunk man babbled, only then taking notice that the girl was having none of it. “Mhm.” Another sip of her drink - pinkie up, back straight.. gulp!
“Yer not even listenin’ to the great ma - hic! - man that is me! How rudeee.” the drunkard drawled before starting to ramble about everything aggravating on his mind, this time his turn to pay no mind to the frustrated child seated next to him. In an attempt to be polite, Raine forced herself to sit still, holding back small, catlike yawns at almost everything the man was saying.
This would be a long night.
3. You are at the market when you come upon a stall selling some particularly interesting wares. You decide to buy one, and the owner of the stall names a rather outrageous price.
What do you do? (Enact roleplay; conversation, actions, etc.)
“Oh..”
The ravenette gazed at the pendant in her hands, azure eyes filled with longing. “That much?” the child glanced towards the shopkeeper, unable to hide the disappointment in her tone. The shop owner gave a huff before nodding. “Tha’s the price, miss. Y’want it? It’s one-of-a-kind. Worth the money.” the older woman pointed out, looking at Raine as she would to her troublesome son.
“I haven’t got that kind of money.” the little warrior sighed after a moment's hesitation, placing the pendant back on the table.
Now it was the shopkeeper’s turn to look disappointed. “Oh.” Raine took notice almost immediately and gave a small cough. “It’s pretty, though.. I’m sure it will sell.” the girl spoke, her voice hopeful. “Guess so, huh?” the shopkeeper replied, throwing a stern glance at the jewelry piece. “Let’s hope you’re right, girlie.”
Raine shifted a bit uncomfortably before simply heading off without another word. This town was weird. She’d have to get used to that.

Lucian was born to a family of pure females. His father was killed in an mining accident and his mother took care of him solely. He also had plenty of sisters, 5 to be exact. All those who he considered to be his best friends. He picked flowers and read with them every day of his life, well until their money ran low. When he was 10 years old his mother could no longer support the family and him and his sisters had to pitch in and help. He decided to go into lumber jacking with a group of older men. They treated Lucian poorly but that only made him stronger, which is what he tried to make himself believe. He had a talent with the axe and the men envied him. He would chop down ten trees before the rest of them put together could. Because of this one of his colleagues suggested he go into the arena to earn some extra money. Lucian, at first was hesitant but he noticed it was a great way to make a extra buck for his mother.
He began as a trainee when he was only 15, but the mentors were flabbergasted to see the strength he possessed. Unlike the other trainees, Lucian could wield the giant war axe. A feat some adult Gladiators struggled with. Because of his strength he was quickly in the action when he turned 17. Due to his enormous strength no other Gladiator posed any real threat unless they ganged up on him. his axe would always smash their weapons into pieces. Although he wasn't indestructible. He had gotten sick with an illness that would weaken him a bit, something the doctors could not diagnose. Because of this Lucian had become weaker. He now coughs alot, sometime even blood comes out. However he was still able to fight, and even wield the war axe.
However doctors suggest he quit the job, as it was starting to take a small toll on his heart. Because of this he began to look after a sick orphan he had found. The orphan was just as sick as he was. Every day Lucian would visit him and bring him food, hoping he would recover. He even got one of his sisters; who was now a doctor, to check up on him. The boy seemed hopeless and he soon drowned in his own blood. From that day on Lucian swore he would do all what was in his power to help kids in need, that is when he met Raine. She was an abandoned young girl that Lucian just couldn't refuse and felt obligated to look after. Lucian now trails Raine, to make sure doesn't die. (Dorky approved)

What do you do? (Enact roleplay; conversation, actions, etc)
"There's that many of you!? Jesus, well come get it, you'll have to fight me for it." Lucian slowly brings out his axe taunting to begin a fight. As the thieves attack he stands there awaiting their moves, waiting for the moment to strike. One comes near him and Lucian flinches throwing one of his tomahawks right toward his face. The thief dodges it and returns with a stabbing motion to his heart. Lucian sidesteps to the left, avoiding the attack. He hears rustling noise behind him and quickly reacts ducking and sliding beneath his feet. The thief tries to dodge but is caught in the trip and falls. The last two thievs began to strike at the same time but stopped. Guards had discovered the incident and had bows aimed at them.

What do you do? (Enact roleplay; conversation, actions, etc)

His mother always said intoxicated men were bad news. Although the man kept coming back, rubbing on him; asking for money. Lucian began to loose his temper a bit, and pushed the man off and exited the Inn.
3. You are at the market when you come upon a stall selling some particularly interesting wares. You decide to buy one, and the owner of the stall names a rather outrageous price.
What do you do? (Enact roleplay; conversation, actions, etc)
"What! such an outrageous price aw man I really wanted it." Lucian puts it away and strolls out of the store, with his tail between his knees. However he is stopped when he hears a calling voice. "Wait sir" the man ran up to Lucian, huffing and puffing. "No one will ever buy it." The man sighed and handed him the object. "Thanks mister!" Lucian's face lightened up, he had got the beautiful vase for his flowers.

Minecraft username: Chrosmatic
What is your age: 14
What is your timezone: CST
What experience do you have in roleplaying: Plenty, I've roleplayed on various Minecraft servers and aswell SAMP servers.
Have you read, understood, and accepted the rules?: Of course. What is the rule you agree with the most?: To kill without provocation, be psychotic or otherwise mentally ill, and commit any extreme criminal acts (such as mass arson), you need to have an accepted Evils Application. How did you find the server?: I had noticed it around December, but just an hour ago I had been invited by SpiritedMelody.
Why should you be whitelisted?: I'm a good roleplayer, at least in my opinion. I've got lots of experience, despite my age. I'm able to put on a better show than lots of people during RP situations. I'm able to abide the rules, and assist in technical issues regarding Minecraft or general computing problems.
Define powergaming: Doing things/actions that are impossible, or breaking roleplay. Ex; *Joe pulls out a lightsaber and instantly kills Tom.
Define metagaming: Integrating OOC information into IC situations. Ex; Tom tells Joe that his character will have a child soon, then Joe logs on and asks "Hey, when are you getting the kid?" but Tom's character hadn't told Joe's about it.
Who was the first king of Redania?: Kurgan D'Arco..
Why did the great dwarven kingdom collapse?: Majestic blue orb.
Who are the Jarr?: The Jarr were a race of dark skinned elves accustomed to the desert and all it's difficulties, and they died of a plague. Pretty sad.
IC
Character Name: Sabre; Last name unknown.
Character Age: Age is unknown, however it appears as he's around his early twenties or late teen years.
Character Gender: He's a male.
Character Race, human/elf/dwarf (or a mix): He's a pure bred Human.
Character Appearance (Facial features, build, clothing, etc): Sabre is a sly person, having a slick build. His facial appearance is known by his signature red face cloth, which is there to prevent dangerous chemicals or even bugs out from his mouth. He has a case of heterochromia, appearing that he has two separate colored eyes, one being sky blue and the other a sea green. He rolls with a standard outfit, almost appearing he has wealth, however the trinkets on his shirt and pantaloons are just brass. He has a small hat concealing his hair, and a set of goggles resting upon his forehead, in which he'll drop down towards his heterochromic eyes to ensure that whoever, and wherever he goes people wont be as alarmed and cease to him as a threat. (If the skin is a issue, I'm willing to change it, though it's a huge hassle with other servers)
Character Personality (How your character acts): Saber doesn't speak. He's often to roll with the flow of the current events. He's awfully laid back and will do what he's asked of him. The only times one will find that Saber will speak, is if it's incredibly urgent. His emotions are drained out from him, appearing that his past had been something that had changed him. He's almost a robot, doing as his master tells him to do. (I've included an evil app at the bottom of this, as his "Master" or "Leader" might ask for him to do evil things.
Character Strengths/Weaknesses (include skills/abilities in strengths):
Strengths Loyalty: He's told to do as he's told, by one certain individual chosen by him. He won't divert or listen to anything else from anyone else. Positively Emotionless: He isn't able to be sob storied, from anyone that isn't his master, or bent to do as their will through emotion. Physical Strength: His past has brought him peaked physical strength. He's very strong and agile.
Weaknesses
Manipulation: He's only to do what he's told by one person, possibly more if the one person makes him follow more. He does what he's told regardless of the circumstance. Loyalty: His loyalty will be his death. It's both strength and weakness, as he follows only one person. If that one person dies he moves onto the next. He only acts on what the chosen says. Outnumbered: He'll know his defeat and fight at a less capacity compared to an evener fight. He doesn't want to die weak, as it's disgrace. Agitation: As he does have his own set of emotions just for himself, which are limited. He gets angry when people tamper with his stuff or bother him repetitively. Certain Defeat: It damages his pride to know he's going to die weak, or outnumbered without a chance.
Character Biography (Must be at least three paragraphs in length, include any memorable events): Sabre was only a young lad, when he had been brought into a certain family service. His family had specified on assassin work, as well as mercenary work. He was trained through torture and obedience. He lived alone, with two brothers and a set of parents, they lived remotely, away from the rest of the population of Redania. They had clients which would pay them to do certain work, not necessarily killing, if that's what you had in mind. Sabre had taken obedience to his head, at such a young age and followed it throughout the duration of his life. With his family. He'd had served his mother, and equal to his father which he did as well, serve under. They had him beaten to a pulp various times, to get him accustomed to torture, or being sheerly outnumbered. They had torture done on him, where they beat him constantly, and caused bodily damage which would prove fatal by his two elder brothers to accustom him to not spill specified information. Sabre is also the youngest of the family, if not mentioned. He'd had practiced throughout his childhood as a bodyguard for clients with bounties or the such on their heads. He'd had an encounter with a certain group of individuals which would've liked to take out this certain client for whichever reason, that remains unknown. Sabre had been pit against this group, not alone but with another bodyguard from another family or guild.Sabre had been instructed to do as this client says by the behalf of his parents, and he'd killed this group with the help of the other with him. They had continued on the journey to their destination, where the client gave thanks and released Sabre from his command. He had returned home, from his first little quest. He had been around 14-15 at this time. Word had spread quickly about Sabre's family, where townsmen and other had mobbed up to forcefully retire Sabre's family, and himself. There had been a large commotion, a mob verse this family. During the confusion, he had lost his family, not quite in front of him as cliche as most are, but however fighting along side of him. He had watched the vulgar display of blood and sweat go on before him, draining of him his previous emotion of love, desire, lust, compassion to just be replaced with hate, death and pain. He had no reason longer to enjoy the presence of others, as the only ones he had is now gone. Sabre slipped away, as his second eldest brother had made sure the name carries on, by sacrificing himself. Sabre had left, leaving as instructed by his brother. There were some resistance from doing so, but more less just old farmers with forks. Sabre had fled, into a nearby wheat field where he would simply lie down, ignoring or being bothered by the perish of his name. Thanks to this, he has no reason to speak to anybody, it's simply been taken out from him from watching his kin die. He doesn't need to speak to get the job done. It's been a while. He hadn't eaten for a bit, knowing that he has nowhere to stay, with the ruins of his home, he would set forth, looking for a new residence or area to reside in. Sabre had picked up on some contracts in the area of the Slums, where notorious crimelords and the like had inhabited. He'd had left that, and began to search for a new master or leader to work under, as that's how his prior life had operated. He no longer has desire to murder at will, as he noticed it doesn't do him any good. He's only to do his own crime on the word of his master, which will never be revealed unless seen with him. He doesn't speak to anyone, in case of him bringing them his old, past demise, which he decided on, and is useless unless desperately needed. He doesn't need companionship, except for animals which seem to have been the only ones who'd have understood Sabre as he traveled. Specifically dogs. Sabre had picked up a contract to erase a child from the planet. It isn't fair, or noble. He isn't ever going to kill children or animals, as both aren't capable as compared to a full grown adult. He'll just wait, for the specific's adulthood. Sabre had reflected upon his past, knowing that if he were to die, there would be the end of his family name, which sets him in a mood to not die, and if anything is a known certain defeat, it damages his own pride and well being.
Scenarios:
1. You are traveling along the roads of Redania when a bandit jumps out in front of you. He claims several of his fellows are hiding in the brush beside the road, and if you value your life, to drop all the valuables you possess.
*Sabre nods, at what the bandit has to say to him, and simply shakes his head in denial that he won't drop anything off. *The bandit is outraged "The ya' mean, use ur' voice son!" *Sabre remains standing in his prior position, showing no emotion or gesture *The bandit approaches him, unknowing of the events to be unfolded, and reaches out with the tip of his blade to tap on his shoulder "Goods, now! ya' hear!?" *Sabre nods once more, awaiting for that golden opportunity to gut the bandit at will. *The bandit approaches, an arms length away, appearing that he has the upper hand in this situation, though him being a pesky highwayman leads to his demise *Sabre unsheathes his blade, which the sheathe was behind him, and brings it up to thunder into the opposites blade, letting it fly out into the creek *The bandit stutters "H-how, di-did you even..?" *Sabre remains neutral under his face cloth, and brings the sword up into his chest up into his ribcage to finish up with him *The bandit chokes on something, though not knowing what. To his surprise he looks down to a blade sticking out from him, and stutters a few last words and falls onto the road. *Sabre pulls the red, stained blade out from his chest, sheathing it back into his sheath, just to step over the body ignoring the problem of having allies, as they'd have popped out as well.
2. You are inside a small inn enjoying a tankard of ale when an obviously intoxicated ( -drunk) man stumbles into you. He gestures at you rudely and tells you to watch where you’re going.
*Sabre wouldn't acknowledge what the man has to say and simply stares up into the drunks eyes *The drunk repeats himself "Wa-tch where ur' goin' ass!" *Sabre has a shiny, metallic dagger resting on the side of his seat, under his thigh and brings it up to set it onto the table, whilst still staring at the mans drunken face. *The drunk notices this action, and slowly backs away and laughs "I'll be a-ar-ound, son, then you'll be *burps* d-dead!" *Sabre continues to look at the drunk, as he loops around to play around with the other men and women of the tavern.
3. You are at the market when you come upon a stall selling some particularly interesting wares. You decide to buy one, and the owner of the stall names a rather outrageous price.
*Sabre picks up this blade, appearing beautifully forged and gestures to the man how much it is, by holding it in front of him *The clerk raises a brow "Ya' want me tuh' sell you it?" *Sabre nods in agreement, to the clerks question*The clerk takes a look at the blade, in Sabres hand "Yeah, that'll be about 100, if ya' got it." *Sabre drops the blade into the dirt, not currently having that amount of currency on him and walks off, ignoring any complaints from the clerk *The clerk shouts and complains to the departing Sabre "You filthy pig! You..!"
Evils Application: Minecraft Name: Chrosmatic Character Name: Sabre
Are you aware that having an accepted Evils application does not make you above any of the rules, particularly powergaming and realistic roleplay?: Of course, don't see how not.
Clearly define the abilities/traits you are applying for and explain why you need them: I'm looking for the majority of the crimes/things to be done as my character. He does what he's told by a certain someone. He doesn't kill unless he's told to. He'll only do what he's told to do, which could range from arson, theft up to murder. Reason being for the need of these is to make my character more logical. How does he do what the master asks for if he isn't able to murder a said person?
Describe your character’s personality: Saber doesn't speak. What are your character's strengths/weaknesses?:
Strengths
Loyalty: He's told to do as he's told, by one certain individual chosen by him.
Certain Defeat: It damages his pride to know he's going to die weak, or outnumbered without a chance
What will your character do on a daily basis?: Typically roam or follow/accompany a certain someone who he servers under. Possibly do as they ask if that's the case.
What moral boundaries does your character have, if any? He refrains from killing dogs, and children. All other animals are live. If it's an absolute must, he will, however on first demand/request he'll sort of shake his head in refusal, which means it's something that he very strongly doesn't want to do.
Please provide your character’s biography: Sabre was only a young lad, when he had been brought into a certain family service. His family had specified on assassin work, as well as mercenary work. Had to edit this so much. RIP freetime.
Alrighty. 2nd time edited.
Sadly I have to deny you because there were a few problems with your EA.
I'm afraid I can't tell you what was wrong with it, but due to the evil nature of your character,
I suggest reapplying with a new one, or changing his story a bit to fit his evil nature.
It's taken me three hours just for that, even to come up with a backup skin. He isn't evil, he does as he's told. I already had plans to serve someone who wasn't evil, I had the EA just in case something did come up. He doesn't speak, he just does as he's told. He also doesn't murder unless he's provoked, he's like any other character. The EA is just for his job/service. Infact, I would love to edit some of it but I really cant without messing the entire post up.
tldr; He isn't necessarily evil. We had plans to have him serve a good person.
The EA is just in case something happens to this good person, like they're harmed since they cant really protect themselves and he has to protect them. He acts like any other person, until he's asked to deal with something. Of course murdering will be pretty much never done through him, just more or less arson or petty theft will be done. Also, I sort of had to do the EA as he will do anything, and if he's asked to actually kill
someone, he cant just say "no."
If this cant be made to work, ignore the EA application and focus on towards my actual app.

When she went to the orphanage the other kids teased her because she was an elf and not human. She also had a much older brother, whom she adored. He taught Lucilia everything she knew about fighting and combat. When her parents put her in the orphanage she knew that she would never see her beloved brother again.
Lucilia always kept to herself, mainly because no one liked her. When she was ten she snuck out at night, silently taking her belt and array of daggers. She went to the nearest town and stayed there for a while. She then moved on. Occasionally, she stayed for a few days. She stayed in one town for a week. Finally, she stayed in Wetrock. The peace lasted for a month or so. As she was hunting, she was approached by two bandits. They tried to rob her and kill her, but she ran.
Lucilia is now on the road again, hoping to find another place to stay. Her main goal is to find her half-sister and her brother. Lucilia loves to play around with people and threaten them. She has made many enemies over the years. Secretly, she also wants to find someone to take care of her, like a father would.

Lucilia looks to the bushes judging the situation. "Mister, I hope you know that you are robbing the wrong person." Lucilia laughs, "Fool! you should have taken my advice." She pulls out her curved dagger and throws it at the man. The bandit sees the dagger fly past his head and looks wide-eyed at the young, seemingly innocent, girl. "Feisty, eh? Well, I guess I will save the pleasure of your death for myself!" Lucilia waits for him to walk over with a small smirk on her face. As he reaches for her she quickly pulls out a sharp dagger and stabs him in the arm wide-eyed. "Go away!" she yells, honestly scared. While the man is distracted, she turns and runs.

As she is walking out, she mutters a few things a lady should not say.
3. You are at the market when you come upon a stall selling some particularly interesting wares. You decide to buy one, and the owner of the stall names a rather outrageous price.
What do you do? (Enact roleplay; conversation, actions, etc)

The merchant thinks for a second, "No, ma'am, you can't find this anywhere else!" Lucilia slowly turns around and sees the same item for a much lower price, "Then what is that?" The merchant sighs, "Alright ma'am 12 coins." Lucilia smiles and hands the man the coins, "Thank you!" She walks away proudly with the item in hand.

Character Biography (Must be at least three paragraphs in length, include any memorable events):
Malik, always a simple man. From youth to his currency. From birth he was born into a family of four. His parents, a lovely couple, and his eldest brother and his sister, only a couple years older than him. Born into the life of poverty, living a life within the Slums within Kurgan’s Hold, Malik has only known these places for most of his young life. His father, a carpenter, and his mother, a servant to a local guard of the Hold, have always been very busy, so he was stuck with his eldest brother, who was an apprentice of a local fisherman. His sister stayed with their mom, as an apprentice to her, one day taking her job as a servant. The brother, however, is not a patient boy, and is often found slacking off when cleaning the fisherman’s nets. Malik always found this disappointing, and could not understand why he did not have the patience to stay on task. The fisherman took notice to this very quickly, and weaned Malik’s way into being an apprentice, as well. Now, although his brother did not like the job, he did not like being beaten out of it even more, and for a few weeks would treat Malik badly and often give him bruises from punches on the chest. Eventually, after many years, his brother learned to no longer despise his brother anymore and decided to enroll in the military system, and a few days later, Malik never saw him again.
Malik, himself, did very well as an apprentice from his youth. His master, the local fisherman, could only teach him so much, as he was not the best fisherman there was. After much years the fisherman decided to transfer the boy to another fisherman, someone a little bit farther north who the fisherman knew through personal means. His parents were ecstatic that Malik would break the barrier of poverty and be able to start a new life. Malik was hesitant.
The new master fisherman was a quiet man who had a house near Hinterstoder, so it resided slightly elevated on a cliffs plateau. There the two, plus a loyal servant to the fisherman, fished for years, the master enriching Malik with much fulfillment.
The day of Malik’s birthday was a bitter one. Or in a rephrase, it was a sweet one. When Malik woke up on his 33rd birthday, he woke up at the usual time to prepare the nets for the morning catch. He made his way to the master’s shack where he would work on said nets. When he stepped in the master was there sitting, a large fish on a table, the servant lighting a few candles at the time. The two looking at Malik with welcoming smiles. They chatted through the morning, enjoying the lovely fish that the master had caught for them. After it all was over, the master had the servant prepare him a bag with some of his worn tools from which he had used over their years. They walked him out the entrance, the master handing him a piece of paper with information of a man located near Wetrock who would find Malik work there. He started to walk out the door, waving back at the two after thanking them for all that they have done for him. He turned and made his way down the path, the rest of his life ahead of him. Malik was hesitant.
Scenarios:
1. You are traveling along the roads of Redania when a bandit jumps out in front of you. He claims several of his fellows are hiding in the brush beside the road, and if you value your life, to drop all the valuables you possess.
What do you do? (Enact roleplay; conversation, actions, etc)
*Malik stands there, facing the bandit, noticing the bandits secure stance*
“Alright sir, I will do as you say…”
*Malik sets down his bucket filled with fishing tools. He bends down to set the bucket on the ground and as he lifted himself up he was violently kicked in the chest, pushing him onto his butt, the bandit taking the bucket and running off.*
“Well, I suppose he wasn’t a very clever bandit, as he would have searched me first.”
*He stood up, dusting his legs and his bottom off, walking along the path once more, jingling the coins within his pockets.*
2. You are inside a small inn enjoying a tankard of ale when an obviously intoxicated ( -drunk) man stumbles into you. He gestures at you rudely and tells you to watch where you’re going.
What do you do? (Enact roleplay; conversation, actions, etc)
“Oh, I’m sorry sir.”
*Malik stands up and moves over to a farther away area within the inn, taking his drink with him.*
“Oi!” Said the drunkard. “Get ya ass back here! I ain’t dun finished *hic* speakin’ to ya jus’ yet!”
*The drunkard stumbles over to Malik, bumping through people, causing a ruckus within the pub, finally gets over to Malik, looking down at him sitting there, a stain of beer on his shirt.*
“Listen, I don’t want any troub-“ *Malik gets cut off as the man throws a punch towards his face, knocking Malik back in his seat.*
*A large man walks over to the two, picks up the drunk and carries him out the pub, the drunk yelling obscenities at everyone, spilling his beer over the floor. The large man then comes back to Malik, just now recuperating from the punch.*
“You alright, bub?” *The man sits down across from him, looking at him.*
“Yeah, I’m alright. That guy got in a quick shot on me. Thank you so much for getting him out of here.”
*The two converse a bit more, enjoying each other’s company, occasionally hearing obscenities of the drunk yelling outside, sulking in his own filth.*
3. You are at the market when you come upon a stall selling some particularly interesting wares. You decide to buy one, and the owner of the stall names a rather outrageous price.
What do you do? (Enact roleplay; conversation, actions, etc)
*Malik steps up to the stand, a bit ticked off at the price*
“You’re kidding right? Just a city over a store was selling the same thing, but three times /less/ this price!”
*The merchant just shrugs with a grin on his face, exchanging money with another person.*
*Malik pulls out a sack of coin and counts them gently in his palm, looking up at the ware. “It would certainly be of good use,” he thinks to himself.*
*The two converse a bit longer, Malik begins to haggle the price, offering to catch the merchant some fish in return for the discount. After a few minutes the negotiation and the merchant complies, however the benefits still leeward his way. Malik takes the item and asks where the nearest dock is.*
“It’s just about a half a mile down. You can come back at the end of the day with your catch for me.”
“Thank you very much.” *Malik takes the ware and directs himself in that direction, calling back on his way.*
“You won’t regret this. I’m an honest man!”
Oh that's what you mean't. I thought the scenarios were just to check to see how the character would react in some situations, so I didn't play it like a roleplay rather a short story like thing. Edited.
Echoes of the Ancients currently allows three races: Humans, Elves, and Dwarfs.
Human: 70 years
Dwarf: 120 years
Elf: 160 years
Human/Dwarf: 95 years
Human/Elf: 115 years
Dwarf/Elf: 140 years
II. Factions
EotA has one major faction - Redania.
III. Map
We are extremely proud of the high quality of our map and are excited to present it to the minecraft roleplaying community at large.
IV. Rules
Here are the current rules of EotA:
-No powergaming (forcing someone to do something without giving them any choice in the matter)
-No metagaming, or provoking metagaming (using information gained out of character while in character, or giving people the opportunity to do so)
-Use a skin relevant to your character and the roleplay.

Herblore
We have specific lore for plants and medical remedies. The effects of these plants are not common knowledge, so if you want to be able to use them you'll have to find out their effects in character. Each plant has a specific effect, and making up your own effects or plants is not allowed.
Actual Herbs (Detailed):
Each plant has a single flower, which grows 7 inches above the ground-hugging leaves. Small thorns line it, far enough apart to allow for easy picking. The flower’s petals splay outwards when bloomed, displaying the center.
Upon consumption, it has a unique blend of a sweet and spicy taste (Imagine apple cider, or something like that)
Eating it provides a bitter taste.
The plant tastes bland when consumed.
Ancient Folklore and Legends
The Races:
Through the ages, the races which were once quite distinct have mixed a great deal.
Dwarfen Folklore
Once, over a millennium ago, a Dwarfen kingdom ruled over and under the mountains.
The Titans, The Golems, The Ancients
The Ancients, as the Scribes of Redania often say, are beings of legend and myth.
The Narrow War
Temina was once a proud nation of Ylvania, but in it’s hubris it decided to stand against Redania, believing somehow they could prevail against all odds.
The Man on the Coldflow River
One of the darker tales in Redania speak of the man on the Coldflow river.
The Legend of King Athan
Athan the Audacious.
Arrow after arrow he took
Arrow after arrow he delivered
The day that death shook
Waiting for his soul to be delivered
When at last Athan lay dead and the orcs surrounded the mast, the boat burst into flames. Athan had lined it with firewood before he began his stand, and had ignited the pile with his last arrow. It is said that he alone butchered over two hundred orcs that one night. The remaining orcs marched after the rangers, who led them to the narrowest point of a valley nearby, where the Redanian legions lay in waiting. The orcish forces were massacred, unable to bring their numbers to play and weakened by the heroism of Athan. And thus, Redania was saved.
The Manflayer
One cold autumn morning, back when Wetrock was still a small fishing village, a group of fishermen set sail off the coast of the island on a daily fishing trip.
Jarr’al
The Jarr were a race of dark skinned elves accustomed to the desert and all it's difficulties.
Fort Dracholt
In a time of despair and war, a Redanian king known as Grundr commanded a fort to be made. This fort was to be able to withstand any siege, even one lead by dragons. To this day, the fort has never been taken, the massive walls and impressive defenses sometimes enough of a deterrent to their foes alone. The fort has since become a symbol of Redanian strength, power and pride.
Fort Rayne
The House of Rayne rose to power and prominence in the years leading up to the Third Orc Invasion.
The Arena
In the old days of Redania, there was a time when work was scarce and overpopulation a growing problem.
Temple of Knowledge
The temple of knowledge was built by the early Redanians.
Hinterstoder
Farthest north and into the snow-capped mountains out of all the Redanian settlements lies Hinterstoder.
The Slums
The slums were made after an old retired Knight decided to build his mansion in the center of Kurgan's Hold.
Temple of Harmony
After the death of the Titans all the humans were struck with grief.
Fort Kern
Before the first orc invasion, when the last of the dragons roamed the earth and the Redanians still possessed dragonfire, a fort stood tall.
Wetrock
Wetrock was once a bustling fisherman’s village, which was then turned into a miner’s rest, which was then turned into a military fortification, and finally a trader's checkpoint.
2. Holmer
He led the Redanians out of the great winter. Holmer organized the people into a city, made jobs for his people and supplied food. He created the city and society we know today.
Famous quotes: As a farmer’s field feeds his family, so shall my field feed my nation.
Reign remembered for: Rebuilding and expansions.
3. Athan
The first King to face an orc invasion. At the time his army was frail but it stood long enough to get most of the people of Redania into Kurgan’s hold. Athan gave his life to save his people from ruin, heading out with a few of his most trusted men to sabotage the orc invasion and lead them into a trap in a valley.
Famous quotes: Pain and death are illusions of the weak mind
Reign remembered for: Victory.
4. Grundr
After Athan’s death his young son Grundr swore he would prevent an invasion like the orcish one ever happening again.
5. Ergho
The first King to face Temina.
Famous quotes: Victory needs no explanation; defeat allows none
Reign remembered for: Fear and oppression.
6. Ylgrath
The King who finished the war against Temina.
Famous quotes: None
Reign remembered for: Victory, glory and nationalism.
7. Markan
The first King to not be of the D'arco line.
8. Hrogan
Hrogan was voted into power after the death of Markan. He was the only King to be voted into place in Redanian history. Hrogan was considered unfit to rule by many and his people suffered as a result. His actions cause many to think of him as the worst of the Redanian Kings.
Famous quotes: None
Reign remembered for: Anger and disappointment
9. Belander
After the reign of Hrogan, few wished for Belander, Hrogan's son, to rule.

Have you read and accepted the rules?: I have
What is the rule you agree with the most?: Anything you construct MUST make sense according to the era (medieval/dark ages). For example, you may not have an underground farm.
How did you find the server?: Arky told me about it, as I said I was a old member.
Why should you be whitelisted?: Well I've been wanting to get back into roleplaying in minecraft and when Arky told me you all started up a new server I couldn't think of any better people to jump back in with. But I think I can be vouched for by some of my roleplay capabilities and what I bring to the table.

IC
Character Name: Hogan Tolrin
Character Age: 33
Character Gender: male
Character Race, human/elf/dwarf (or a mix): Human
Character Appearance (Facial features, build, clothing, etc): Brown messy hair and matching thin beard.
While Hogan is at the quest for knowledge on the top, with a little digging you would see that he is the very essence of, "It's not about the destination, but the journey."
Character Strengths/Weaknesses (include skills/abilities in strengths): Strengths would be mobility, not needing much as he usually is on the move for some new quest/dig.
Character Biography (Must be at least three paragraphs in length, include any memorable events):
At a young age Hogan was a explorer.
(Enact roleplay; conversation, actions, etc)
When the bandit jumps out I trip out of suprise.
(Enact roleplay; conversation, actions, etc)
Hogan looks up from his mug to see that the man is obviously bigger and stronger and drunker than him.

How old are you?: 17 Years Old
What is your timezone?: Central Standard Time
Do you have skype?: Yes, zealot067
Do you have a microphone?: Yes

What is your age: I'm 22
What is your timezone: Eastern Standard Time
What experience do you have in roleplaying?: Well over five years of experience playing Dungeons and Dragons, Minecraft RP, forum and Skype RP, etc.
2. You are inside a small inn enjoying a tankard of ale when an obviously intoxicated ( -drunk) man stumbles into you. He gestures at you rudely and tells you to watch where you’re going. What do you do? (Enact roleplay; conversation, actions, etc)

(Enact roleplay; conversation, actions, etc)
“So, you have friends waiting in the bushes?

What is your timezone: CST { U.S. }
What experience do you have in roleplaying?: I've roleplayed a few times on other forums, tumblr, and another wonderful MC RP server that is still running.
Have you read and accepted the rules?: Absolutely ~
What is the rule you agree with the most?: I want to say all of them, haha.

Character Gender: Female
Character Race, human/elf/dwarf (or a mix): Human / Elf
Character Appearance (Facial features, build, clothing, etc.):

· Music
· Respectful
· Feisty / Adventurous

Character Biography (Must be at least three paragraphs in length, include any memorable events):

Character Name:
Sabre; Last name unknown.
Character Age:
Age is unknown, however it appears as he's around his early twenties or late teen years.
Character Gender:
He's a male.
Character Race, human/elf/dwarf (or a mix):
He's a pure bred Human.
Character Appearance (Facial features, build, clothing, etc):
Sabre is a sly person, having a slick build.
Character Personality (How your character acts):
Saber doesn't speak.
Strengths
Loyalty: He's told to do as he's told, by one certain individual chosen by him. He won't divert or listen to anything else from anyone else.

Character Biography (Must be at least three paragraphs in length, include any memorable events):
Sabre was only a young lad, when he had been brought into a certain family service.

*The bandit approaches him, unknowing of the events to be unfolded, and reaches out with the tip of his blade to tap on his shoulder "Goods, now! ya' hear!?"
*Sabre nods once more, awaiting for that golden opportunity to gut the bandit at will.
*The bandit approaches, an arms length away, appearing that he has the upper hand in this situation, though him being a pesky highwayman leads to his demise

*The bandit stutters "H-how, di-did you even..?"

*The bandit chokes on something, though not knowing what.

*Sabre has a shiny, metallic dagger resting on the side of his seat, under his thigh and brings it up to set it onto the table, whilst still staring at the mans drunken face.
*The drunk notices this action, and slowly backs away and laughs "I'll be a-ar-ound, son, then you'll be *burps* d-dead!"
*Sabre continues to look at the drunk, as he loops around to play around with the other men and women of the tavern.
3. You are at the market when you come upon a stall selling some particularly interesting wares. You decide to buy one, and the owner of the stall names a rather outrageous price.

*The clerk raises a brow "Ya' want me tuh' sell you it?"
*Sabre nods in agreement, to the clerks question*The clerk takes a look at the blade, in Sabres hand "Yeah, that'll be about 100, if ya' got it."
*Sabre drops the blade into the dirt, not currently having that amount of currency on him and walks off, ignoring any complaints from the clerk
*The clerk shouts and complains to the departing Sabre "You filthy pig! You..!"
Evils Application:
Minecraft Name:
Chrosmatic
Character Name:
Sabre
Are you aware that having an accepted Evils application does not make you above any of the rules,
particularly powergaming and realistic roleplay?: Of course, don't see how not.
Clearly define the abilities/traits you are applying for and explain why you need them:
I'm looking for the majority of the crimes/things to be done as my character. He does what he's told by a certain someone. He doesn't kill unless he's told to. He'll only do what he's told to do, which could range from arson, theft up to murder. Reason being for the need of these is to make my character more logical. How does he do what the master asks for if he isn't able to murder a said person?
Describe your character’s personality:
Saber doesn't speak.
What are your character's strengths/weaknesses?:
Strengths
Loyalty: He's told to do as he's told, by one certain individual chosen by him. He won't divert or listen to anything else from anyone else.
Positively Emotionless:
He isn't able to be sob storied, from anyone that isn't his master, or bent to do as their will through emotion.
Certain Defeat: It damages his pride to know he's going to die weak, or outnumbered without a chance
What will your character do on a daily basis?:
Typically roam or follow/accompany a certain someone who he servers under.

Sabre slipped away, as his second eldest brother had made sure the name carries on, by sacrificing himself. Sabre had left, leaving as instructed by his brother. There were some resistance from doing so, but more less just old farmers with forks. Sabre had fled, into a nearby wheat fieldwhere he would simply lie down, ignoring or being bothered by the perish of his name.
Had to edit this so much. RIP freetime.
Alrighty. 2nd time edited.
tldr; He isn't necessarily evil.
Sort of reminds me of this :

*Malik stands up and moves over to a farther away area within the inn, taking his drink with him.*
