Hi there, I'm just wondering how active one would need to be to play here and how this would work exactly as I've never in game roleplayed. I mean I've done a heavily minecraft based roleplay on this forum before but how does in game RPing work? What happens when people need to log off? How do these factions I'm hearing about work? Is the skype chat voice or text, and is it necessary? Is there a distance chat filter to prevent people from talking across the map when IC? I'm just a little unsure on what to expect is all and would appreciate some explanation, thx .
If you could quote my post so I'll come back to it when respond it would be appreciated
Hey, I'm not staff on Hareveth, so I can't give you exact details, but I can try to give you an idea of what goes on (that I've seen before) I can't speak for how other people deal with others logging out, but I generally have found that it is assumed that the character went off to do something else. As far as factions go, I was under the assumption that there were no preset factions (I could be terribly wrong) and that the factions were going to be based off of how the players grouped up. I'm pretty sure the skype chat is usually text but somtimes voice, and I don't think it is necessary. And I'm pretty certain there is a chat plugin that will make local only work within a certain range. Sorry I wasn't of too much help.

"Where are you?" "Here" "Where???" "Erm... I am at the end of the line and I am short..."
No no, you answered my questions for the most part :). I'm just thinking right now though whether or not I'll be able to show up enough to be any more than an inconvenience. Anyways, thank you but I think I'll stick to playing minecraft on LAN

Oh, you shouldn't think like that. You don't have to spend that much time online anyways. In the end its up to you, I just think that it's always good to have more members, regardless of how frequently they can get online.

((Alright, I'll make an app but I'm not sure how often I'll be able to get on. I might end up just having a shack in the woods filled with random and obscure treasures )) OOC:
Age: 16 (17 in less than a month)
How did you find this server?: Just stumbled upon it
Name: Bobert Dwordin Aftinblernt (Greatly prefers Bob and likes to keep his full name to himself)
Personality: Bob is often a fairly kind individual who enjoys being helpful and likes making friends. More of a surface dweller than a miner, he enjoys charting maps, building, and dabbling in the magical aspects of his world such as alchemy and golems. Enjoys pointless decorations, and has a habit of hording random animals as pets. When his mind becomes set on an objective he'll often pursue it mercilessly, going into the belly of the deepest caves and the fires of the furthest reaches of the nether to get what he needs. Such things are often done smartly though and a fair bit of planning goes into each venture mainly revolving around how to avoid conflict with mobs if possible. Bob is often forgetful, and enjoys keeping a note book to remember important things he needs to do, names, and anything of interest. Appearance: I made this skin myself actually. I'm quite proud of it
Ambitions: Bob can be a bit of a scatter brain when it comes to motivation. While his truest hopes and dreams stem from the pursuit of knowledge and exploration, he often has several minor goals and projects set up which he takes great joy in fulfilling. In the end though it's all about learning about where he's not and finding new places to explore; there's nothing more satisfying to him than building a nether portal, finding a new biome, or completely filling out a map as each new place offers new opportunity.
Dislikes: caving alone, exploring at night, endermen, testificates, cats, fire
"There," I stated cheerily, placing the pumpkin I had found atop the set up of iron blocks. It had taken me a while to collect all I needed but I now had everything to make and control an iron golem; in many ways far better than wolves in my opinion. With a sudden flash the iron melded in upon itself and within a split second my creation had been brought to life, looking down at me with a cold and bored stare. "I've given you life, Gordon!" I told the iron beast happily, using the name I had given the scarecrow from which I had gotten the pumpkin from. Gordon turned his attention away from me and began analyzing his surroundings, a small cave I had set up as my home, near impossible to find for anyone who would be just passing by. Along it's walls amid the systematically placed torches were frames holding maps, old and nearly broken tools, as well as a set of purple leather armor I had crafted during my first days in this land. While my creation looked around, I took the opportunity to place a lead over it's head so I may take it outside and slowly I lead the hulking beast out my newly enlarged door. "Pardon us, Tulip," I quickly murmured as I shooed my pet chicken out of the way so that she wouldn't escape again.Eventually I managed to drag Gordon outside, and I breathed deeply as I looked up and down the rolling hills of the valley I had set up shop in. "Beautiful day out," I breathed, letting go of the rope and letting Gordon roam about, knowing he'd stay close enough to my home to keep an eye on him. "I'm going fishing, see ya later bud," I told the walking hunk of iron, retrieving my fishing rod from where it lay against my door and walking down towards the river which cut across the land.
UnusualAnnika, If you could expand on this part of your application then either Re-Post it or just leave a reply saying that you've edited it and once you done that you should be set.
Personality: Contessa Maine, or Tessa, is an outspoken leader. She prefers to lead the group, rather than be a follower. She takes things very seriously, and doesn't joke very much. Contessa is a very passionate woman about the things she loves. She is kind, but when she has to she will put her foot down.
Appearance: Contessa Maine is a brown haired, wide-eyed girl. She looks innocent, almost child-like. She wears a blue sweater, lace-up boots, and a bow in the front of her hair and the back of her hair. She is approximately 5'6". She is very lean, but everything other than skin and bones is muscle.
And Bobert778 The same applies for you if you could just expand on his personality and Ambitions, I would be okay with the rest.
But for now unfortunately you two are Denied.
Also make sure to read the Rules.
Make sure to tell me when you've made the changes and I will look at them again.
Look forward to seeing you both on the server after you fixed your apps.
Bobert778 - Thanks for editing you app, just take into account there is no magic nor nether in Hareveth yet
'Magical'. I know it isn't true magic but for me alchemy, growing giant mushrooms, and crafting golems is sort of magical in a way. Just as walking skeletons and enderpearls aren't quite explainable beyond some kind of magical influence. Magic, however faint, flows through the world of minecraft. You only need to look
Would my character be able to know about the nether, or is it something unknown to everyone? It might be best if it's a sort of common knowledge thing, like how you can say 'hell' and everyone kinda knows what you're talking about. (That's actually something that we do in an RP I'm in; Notch is god, Jeb is Jesus, Herobrine is like the devil, and the nether is hell. 'Oh what the nether?!' being an example, back on topic though.) How to get there could easily be a mystery ;). Then again, alchemy is something that comes entirely from the nether- I'm getting sidetracked. I'm not telling you anything, just asking what I should know. I suppose if nobody knows anything about the nether I could work around it
i already have an enjin account, but when I try to join the site apparently all the capicha thingys are invalid. I'll try again later...Wait, I checked members and apparently i am a member... I'll be right backAnyone know how to make a thread?
How did you find this server?: Unit117 directed me here.
Personality: Nabil is a disgruntled man whose conflicting aspirations are caught between his conscience and his desire for vengeance. He is known to be isolated and highly paranoid. In an effort to evade all contact with other humans, he is practically nocturnal. The only residents who have seen him on a regular basis are the bartender of the local tavern where he makes a visit late each night as well as the blacksmith who sharpens his sword and tunes up his armor on a weekly basis. However, Nabil is always accompanied by his loyal husky and sole companion, Alya. He has not the slightest care for any other person nor does he have any interest in how others perceive him. Most people see him as some mean, mentally unstable hermit, yet what they don’t know is that he was once a prince of an exceptionally affluent aristocratic family. All of his once wealthy and powerful family now ceases to exist and the event that brought about their bloody ending and left him as the lone survivor has produced a man that has lost the ability to love humans.
Appearance: Nabil is a particularly tall man whose height is approximately 6’7’’. However, his most defining physical feature is his muscular build. The sheer strength that his body possesses has frightened the few people that have laid eyes upon him. A rough, dark brown beard covers every inch of skin on the lower half of his rugged face. His head is topped with relatively lengthy dark brown hair that flows freely over his upper back. A set of cumbersome, iron armor is his choice of everyday apparel and he is consistently equipped with his precious iron broad sword that has much more sentimental value than actual worth.
Ambitions: Nabil has lost all that he once loved, with the exception of his beloved canine, Alya. He is torn between using the values bestowed upon him by his parents and his passionate drive to exterminate all of those associated with his family’s deaths. He makes a handsome profit as a mercenary, yet will only murder those who he believes are worthless. This includes thieves, bandits, and thugs. Nabil is a skilled warrior and emotionlessly slaughters his targets. Despite his hopeless outlook, deep within his heart resides a desire to start anew and put his past behind him. However, that weak desire is suffocated by intense feelings of animosity and sadness. Each moment is a struggle to suppress his emotions to work up the will to live another day.
Likes: Nabil is fond of very little in the world. He continues to live for one reason and one reason only- his adored dog, Alya. One night, years after he had escaped the carnage of his family and wandered into the wilderness as a starving nomad, he collapsed onto the dirt in exhaustion. He was preparing to plunge his sword into his chest and end his torture when he heard the quiet whimpering of a newborn puppy. He immediately forgot his self-pity and began to walk in the direction from which the noise originated. About twenty yards away a puppy, no larger than Nabil’s palm, trembled violently as it burrowed into a small enclave in a hillside. Nabil cautiously removed the creature from its shelter and the puppy that came to be known as Alya huddled against his chest as the whimpering disappeared. It was then that Nabil’s feelings of emptiness and despair were replaced by one of love for the animal that saved his life.
Dislikes: Nabil is generally indifferent about most things and people. Yet, his miserable nature is derived from a combination of his vitriol for those who butchered his family and a strong hatred of himself for being too weak to save his family and for being too weak to avenge his family’s deaths. His mind is frequently occupied with thoughts of how he would singlehandedly annihilate each and every member of the group that slaughtered his family and how he would gruesomely torture the enemy leader. However, he is well aware that his ambitions could never become true for his opponents far outweigh him in resources and ability. Furthermore, Nabil has not the slightest notion of where they might be located and no one in his current hometown could assist him with this predicament. Lastly, he blames himself and himself only for not being to save his family and so his vendetta against himself is nearly greater than his hatred for his adversaries.
Roleplay Example: The lowly bandits huddled around a flickering campfire in the frigid air of the night. One casually stood guard beside the dying fire and occasionally tossed a log upon it in a weak effort to preserve its warmth. The guard’s hands had long grown numb and he could no longer feel the handle of the cutlass that he carried at his side. The night was eerily quiet, with the only audible sound coming from the crackling of the flames. One of the bandits asked for another log and the guard was fulfilling the request when the bandit witnessed a sole arrow make a direct hit with the guard’s left eyeball. The bandit had no time to react, for a second arrow made a clean cut into his head a second later. The remaining twenty bandits mobilized quickly, utilizing prior combat experience. They dove for cover behind tents, supply crates, and sitting logs and unsheathed their weapons awaiting the arrival of their concealed attacker. The bandits tried desperately to peer into the thick darkness, yet nothing was visible outside a small circle of light provided by the campfire. They were essentially sitting ducks in the only illuminated area while the unknown attacker drifted unseen in the shadows. One bandit armed with a single bladed axe called out to his companions, “Just stay in cover. He’ll then have to come within our field of view and that’s when we’ll take him…” But before he could utter his last words, an arrow struck him in the back of the head.
At that moment, another bandit cried, “I’m done waiting for him to kill us all! Let’s bring the fight to him!” Four of the bandits accepted the one’s strategy and followed him into the night in the direction from which the last arrow emerged. The other bandits crouched in their hiding positions in complete silence. A few seconds later, the unmistakable sound of gurgling blood could be heard along with the clattering of weapons. The fight lasted only ten more minutes and officially concluded with the decapitation of the bandit leader. Nibal, the mercenary, threw the blood drenched head in a deerskin bag. Now having proof of the leader’s death, he could deliver the head and obtain his reward for the contract- a sizeable 5,000 pieces of gold worth of gems. After returning to his cabin, Nibal patted his husky, Alya, on the head as the dog barked joyfully at his arrival. He poured half a glass of hard liquor and sat at his desk where a single candle delivered an orange glow over a collection of heavily marked maps and papers. He was determined to avenge his family and he would do so at any cost. As Nibal began to study his work, he assured himself that this time failure would not be an option.
Okay so both Fare777 and TheJollyViking, You're both denied just until you make some minor edits.
TheJollyViking - I would like you to expand on your appearance a little bit and maybe make him a bit shorter and once you've done that you're set to go.
Fare777 - Looking at your Ambitions I realise that you may have used it from another server? I'm not sure any way try not to mention any cites or anything like that and keep it rather vague, as there is no set lore at the moment so it would be hard to fit your character.
Just make a post to tell me when you've edited or just re-post the application thanks guys.
