I hope that putting this in this forum will get more results from interested parties. My goal is just over 3,000 rooms spanning 12 stories. A maze chock full of puzzles, parkour, many different elements. Can't really accomplish it alone, so I'm looking for people to help. This is a project I first conceived of years ago on graph paper, and if I ever hit the lottery I'd build it IRL, but for now I can only really realize it in minecraft.
I've called it Absolom (from a 90s movie) for lack of a better name, but that's not set in stone.
It's going to be a very casual thing (this is a hobby, not work!), but we will all have to be on the same page for it to work at all so there will have to be some structure.
So far, I believe we will need the following positions:
Executive Producer - Will be the #2 in charge, and MUST be good with big picture things. Along with myself, this position requires someone who can direct others in a productive way.
Puzzler - Devise and construct various puzzles within the maze.
Plumber - Will be in charge of all water and lava
Electrician - Must be adept with redstone circuits, obviously.
Film Crew - I want to get this thing a lot of Youtube exposure, so even before it's finished some sort of "making of" videos could be thrown out there.
Bouncer - Server admin who will keep out troublemakers.
Guide - Will greet newcomers and answer any questions they may have about the maze, the rules, etc.
Scapegoat - Someone to blame whenever anything goes wrong. This will become important later.
Parkour coordinator - Will design, build and properly test all parkour areas.
Nether coordinator - Will design the nether areas, should we decide to make use of the dimension.
ANYONE who is involved at any point WILL be given proper credit, this will be a total team effort. Also understand that this is for leisure ONLY, nothing about this will make anybody any money and no donations will ever be solicited or accepted.
So who am I looking for? Mature minded people, I don't care what your physical age, gender, etc are but you must be able to cooperate and be cool. Also must know how to watch your language. Not that I care, I don't, but my 6 year old daughter also plays minecraft so keep everything say PG-13 at worst. And finally, you should want to be a part of this. Think long and hard and please don't volunteer if you don't really think you'd enjoy the experience, that's not doing me or you any favors at all. I use the KB photo-realism texture pack, however you are free to use any you prefer. During the construction phase, we will all be in creative mode, vanilla, peaceful. At some point, a decision will be made regarding what mode to finally run in.
So there you have it in a nutshell. Anyone interested, do let me know.
Current project status: Basic framework laid out, several paths completed.
