It has been nearly three hundred years since the Raising, since the day that our blessed isles were saved by The Goddess Aneria, since our lives changed forever. We have been living here, on our islands above the clouds, for so long now. It is all we have ever known. We are guided by the light of Aneria, maintaining peace with the world around us. So it has been, since the Raising. But changes are now in motion... New faces rule the Chancellery, the Academy reopens after years of inactivity, the monsters from Bloodstone grow restless, and an island inhabited by strange people comes from nowhere... And unseen from mortal eyes, something stirs in the dark. He who was forgotten has returned, to enact his vengeance. The future of our people is unsure. Will our peace endure?
The Anerian Chronicles is the latest in a series of Roleplay servers made by the Silvergaming community. If you don’t know what a “Roleplay server” is, it is simply a minecraft server in which you play the part of a character in our fantasy world. It’s like minecraft LARPing, but ten times more epic than that sounds.
Our server in particular is geared towards dedicated Roleplayers, and a player-driven story. We want the players to be a part of major decisions going on with the server, as well as having ultimate control of where the story leads. We staff will be setting up some pretty cool events, hidden secrets and the like, but it’s up to the players to decide what to do about them. Unlike other servers, we don’t immediately assign the most powerful roles to our own staff. Rather, we let the players decide who they want to lead them. Revolts, wars and the like are a major possibility for switching leadership. Here in the Anerian Chronicles, the players have power.
We’ve done as much as we can to ensure that our RP server is unique. We aren’t just another server with kingdoms and castles and wizards. That’s been done to death. No, our server is a high-fantasy intrigue RP server, set in a land of floating islands, and full of secrets. Up here in the islands, things are quite different from the surface world you may be used to..
Our community is one of the most tightly nit that I have ever seen. We are a caring and compassionate community, where we make sure that EVERYONE enjoys themselves on the server. We endeavor to be accepting to players of all descriptions, young and old, noobs and veterans, and work very hard to ensure that our server is a positive environment. That means that if you like griefing, being rude, making inappropriate jokes, or generally being an unfriendly person, this server is not for you.
Player Testimonials:
I asked our players for some feedback to post here, and this is what we ended up with. You can see the original thread here, if you have a forum account with us (Which you should get!). I must warn you, I have not edited these at all, and our players can be a LITTLE crazy at times. Hopefully it’s evident how much they enjoy the community, though.

What EB said. So many servers are drowned in either bad RP, Powergaming staff, really just bad player base, etc, etc, this is where you can get a fresh start on an amazing server.

”A really good server! I would recommend it, big time! Really nice players, and well thought out lore. Though, very new, its a great and awesome place! Buildings are beautiful, skins are amazing, staff is a hard working one, and there’s so much more! I would really suggest one to apply for this server. They accept all kinds of people. People new to roleplay, veterans of roleplay, etc.! Once again, really nice server. And I thank all of the staff for making this server possible, especially BaeWelk (Baeshra and Welknair. The two server owners).” -Tiffosaur

This Sever is great. It is another made by the Silver Gaming community which is the most accepting and helpful community I have every been a part of. They put effort into the server to make sure the lore is fantastic, the world is awesome, and the players have a great time. The staff will help answer any question and solve any problems. They also have a personal quest line thing going on which is super good. The Character-linking is fantastic because it helps players immerse themselves in the world. If you are looking for a good RP community or community in general, I think you would be hard-pressed to find one better than this.
Intro Lore
Our written history starts at 0 AR (After Raising), when the Goddess Aneria created the islands. Several nations have risen and fallen since then, with the Chancellery currently in control. An island home to strange people drifts into our view, causing the peace of our fair nation to be disrupted. Where did these people come from?
Players may begin as either Medori (Fallen), a race of isolated nomads, or they may begin as a Citizen of the Chancellory - The largest known civilization, claiming rule over all of the Islands. Up till now, they’ve had no notable contact at all. The Medori know of the Chancellory and have been intentionally avoiding it
Chancellery Lore
Summary: The Chancellery has been in charge since 169 A.R (After Raising)., following defeat of the old Linyera Monarchy in 167 A.R. at the Planes of Raun. Their nation once spanned many islands, but after the war and following famines, the outter settlements were largely abandoned. Now the vast majority of Citizens live in the Capital, the largest known city, as well as the seat of the government.
The Church: The Church of Aneria can trace its origins back the very beginning of the sky islands themselves, and perhaps even before. Though their history is shrouded in mystery, they have always remained true to their cause, the worship of the Goddess Aneria, who centuries ago raised the islands into the sky to protect what was left of humanity from a great, unspeakable evil. Over the years they have over come trial after trial, from political pressures to persecution. They now stand in a position of high influence over the inhabitants of the sky islands, and use their adept magics of healing to aid the world in their endeavors. It is rumored that the secrets held within the deepest vaults of the Church’s collection are innumerable.
Present day, the Church is now lead by the newly appointed Prophet, Severin. The Church maintains a shaky, symbiotic relationship with the Chancellery, and is in regular conflict with the Academy due to opposing views concerning the uses of magic. Still, the Church remains as one of the most influential bodies within the sky islands, and has the rich heritage to back her up.
The vast majority of characters believe in the Church’s teachings to some degree or other, and have been told from an early age that the Church is what separates man from beast. The Church is the light that guides us in dark days, and any who speak against the Holy Word are evil at heart, and seek to destroy our way of life. Players may seek entrance into the clergy by speaking to the Prophet in-game, but cannot begin play as a priest.
The Academy: The Academy offers three degrees: A general “Primary” degree, a “Magery” degree, and an “Alchemy” degree. The latter two require the first, and are known as “Secondary” degrees. The Primary degree covers such topics as world history and literature, and is attained by most individuals wishing to be considered the least bit intellectual. A third Secondary Degree is offered by the Church - The Theology Degree - which is required to become a Priest. A single character can only ever participate in a single Secondary Degree. At the start of a Magery or Theology Degree, the player’s class changes to Mage or Priest respectively. At the end of an Alchemy Degree, their class changes to Alchemist. Players cannot begin with their character already enrolled at the Academy - They must seek entrance in-game.
Magery: Magic, also known as “The Art” is an ancient practice dating back to as early as Tilaria the Wise, second monarch of the Linyera Kingdom. Magic has since become more formalized and regimented with the advent of the Academy. Magic is a complicated process, requiring the use of a specialized Implement and a disciplined mindset to tap into the second plane, Chordus, to call forth Mana to be shaped into desired spells. Mages spend many long years mastering the Art and honing their skills. No players may begin play knowing magic - They must attend the Academy and gain a Magery Degree, after first completing a Primary degree. Be warned that such a path is not for the lazy. There will be much reading, and many tests. If you’re on the Villain’s Blacklist, you may not learn magic with any character.
Chancellery: The Capitol is ruled by the Chancellor, who is served in turn by the Three Masters: The Masters of Blades, Coins and Words. The position of Chancellor is primarily hereditary, but he may be impeached if all three of his Masters agree. If the Chancellor passes without an heir, an election is held. The citizens vote one of the three Masters to become the new Chancellor. When a new Chancellor is appointed, they may choose new Masters, possibly replacing old ones. The Chancellor has final say when it comes to the passing and interpreting of laws and oversees court cases, the Master of Blades runs the Town Guard, the Master of Coin handles the city’s treasury and economy, and the Master of Words specializes in information and propaganda, keeping a read on public opinion. These positions are always slightly at odds with one another, though balanced by the stabilizing force of the Chancellor.
The Order of Aradin: The Order of Aradin was brought into creation around 37 A.R., to protect the people of the Islands from supernatural evils, as a wave of monsters was sweeping the land at the time. Once revered and praised, the Order has grown into disarray over the years as their purpose was greatly diminished. Now they are only a fraction of their former glory, nothing more than a shadow of what was. The previous Chancellor, Adam Ceva, disbanded the Order, though there is talk that the new Chancellor, Oliver, may recreate it.
Major Locations:
The Capital: The primary city that our story is based in, and home of the government. Chances are you live here.
-The Seat: Where public hearings are held and wear the Chancellor lives, the Seat stands large and imposing in the center of the Capitol.
-The Market: The small ring of market stalls surrounds the Seat, always lively with traders trying to sell their goods
-The Three Offices: The homes of the Three Masters, located about Capitol.
-The Academy: The Academy overlooks the Capitol on its position atop a side-island, attached by a lone stair. The Academy is where all seeking knowledge go to learn and train.
-The Knight’s Hall: The home of the Order of Aradin, the ancient order of Knights sworn to protect the Capitol from evil.
-The Church: Located just behind the Seat, the Church is where all holy people in the Capitol go to worship our Goddess Aneria.
-The Arena: The large circular arena nearby the Words Office is where all duels and tournaments take place. The Town Guard have been known to practice there on occasion as well.
-The Docks: The central location for all incoming and outgoing airships.
-The Factory: Located on a small island by the Capitol, the Factory is where all manufacturing takes place, and where new Skyships are constructed. A brilliant inventor currently runs the facility.
-The Slums: The cluster of tiny huts outside the Capitol’s main wall are home to the poorer members of our society. Past the wall also resides the farmlands that sustain our people.
The Cathedral: The true home of the Church of Aneria, the Cathedral is a massive structure on a distant island, though skyships frequently ferry people to and forth.Brightwater: The quaint and peaceful town in front of the Cathedral, inhabited by holy men and women.
Bloodstone Island: Bloodstone is home to the greatest concentration of monsters found anywhere in Primoris, and is generally considered the deadliest locale. Though not for the faint of heart, Bloodstone is also home to a great number mineral deposits.
The Outpost: The Outpost is the foremost mining settlement, found on the largest wilderness island. Since the start of the server, the business conglomerate “JMart” has colonized the majority of the island.
Castles of the Wardens: On some wilderness islands you can find the castles of the Three Wardens, from ages past. These great keeps have since fallen to ruin, though they remain a source of awe and wonder for those that look upon them.

Fallen(Medori) Lore
IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to the recent cultural intermingling between the Medori and the Citizenry, the Medori are quite familiar with the Capital. I’d highly recommend that new Medori players read over the Chancellery Lore to represent this.
Summary:The “Fallen”, or Medori, are an old and generally superstitious people. They prefer to stay away from conflict, generally looking for peaceful ways to solve problems as opposed to violent ones. They have lived in seclusion from the rest of the human race since the rising of the Sky Islands. Although the Medori read and write, many parents pass information down to their children orally through family and/or community storytellings. This practice of storytelling is what keeps their community together, and the idea of the community is a very big part of Medori culture. Their lifestyle is a simple one. With no need to defend against attackers, their houses are no more than tents. The Fallen, in a general sense, have a slightly higher aptitude for magic than the common human, and it is not known why exactly they were separated from the rest of the “common” humans nearly three hundred years ago, when the islands rose to the sky. If one studies their society closely, they will see that the idea of a “father” comes up many times. Who or what this father is, is unknown. Now their island has recently moved towards the island of the Common Humans, creating tension within the Fallen community. For years, they have lived in seclusion, never having to worry about opposing factions, but now they have been caught unawares. Nobody knows for sure what lies in the future of the Fallen, but everybody knows that this will be a turning point in their history.
Players may begin play as a Fallen, so long as they are properly familiar with Fallen culture.
Holidays: The Medori New Year - The Anniversary of the Rising. Arguably the most sacred and important of their holidays. At the end of Winter.
A Night of Thanks - A somber holiday that somewhat resembles the ideas of our Thanksgiving. A yearly anniversary of the “Night of Abnormalities”. After that odd and depressing night, they made a decision to set that night apart as a night to give thanks for the fact that they survived it. Sometime in the Summer.
Dimeor Day - A holiday of mysterious origins. It is said to be the birthday of “The Father”. Nobody knows who exactly this father is, or whether it is actually his birthday, but it is one of the oldest holidays of Medori Culture. People often buy each other gifts and light candles. Near the beginning of Winter.
Stories/Superstitions:
(1) Similar to our “Bogeyman”, adults often use “The Bodychanger” to scare small children into submissive behavior. Some children might have the Bodychanger on their list of fears, or be scared that he’s in their closet/under their bed. Your typical amorphous monster.
(2)Dance around the roses,Your pockets full of posies,There he goes, here he comes,Take care he doesn’t snatch you!Sing around the roses,Protected by the posies,Children, children,Time to run away! A timeless rhyme that young Medori children sing while holding hands and running around in a circle (think Ring around the Roses). The song has its origins in the times when Jensen was starting to turn evil and rumors of bodysnatching spread throughout society. Posies (e.g. flowers) were thought by superstitious people to keep the bodysnatcher away from you. Now, people don’t give much thought to the meaning of the song.
(3) The Story of the Princess, the Knight, and the Warlock:The story, your typical fairytale, is about a beautiful and magical princess named Amerie who lived in a great castle. Her father decided to marry her to a prince from a far away kingdom. Once they were married, the princess revealed to her husband that she was magical and her husband begged her to teach him. She did, and it turned out that he had an affinity for magic. Over time, her husband grew blinded with power and distant from his wife. He became known as the Warlock, and cast a spell of fear over the land, terrorizing civilians. The princess, distraught and regretting that she taught her husband magic, called upon the greatest knights of the realm. They participated in a tournament where the winner would challenge the Warlock to a duel and hopefully win. The winner of the tournament, Florian Whitesword, challenged the warlock with the help of the princess, and won, killing him. Afterwards, Princess Amerie and Florian married and lived happily ever after.
Universal Lore (Both Medori AND Citizens would know this):
Skyships: Skyships have been used for centuries to traverse the Islands. Skyships for the Capitol are constructed at the Factory, and principally reside at the Docks. Skyships are kept aloft by large gas-filled balloons, and traditionally propelled by sails. With the advent of the steam engine though, newer ships created by the Chancellory are incorporating steam-powered turbines. Medori craft have traditionally been simpler in nature, hand-crafted on land out of natural materials before being raised up. Players may not begin owning a Skyship, but they may say that they’ve had prior experience as a crew-member. (We will be using the MoveCraft plugin to provide player-controlled airships, while using stationary “NPC” ships with commandblock teleports for transportation between major islands)
The Net: Since the Raising, there has existed a barrier of sorts, hovering beneath the Islands, catching foolish individuals that fall. Instead of falling for all eternity, they are instead safely transported back onto the nearest island, safe and sound. Unfortunately, unaided the Net can only rescue living matter - Individuals caught by the Net lose all the items they’re carrying. Unaided, that is - If a person hitting the Net has a certain amount of Essence (XP), the Net will harness it to save nonliving matter as well. (For the cost of three levels, players falling out of the world won’t lose their gear)
Essence: As individuals go about overcoming basic obstacles, such as defeating monsters, mining ores, and cooking food, they accumlate a sort of energy that has come to be known as “Essence”. Mages have described Essence as the First Plane’s version of Mana - Far less versatile, yet still necessary for the normal functioning of the plane. Under normal circumstances, the common man only cares about Essence to the extent that it can save their items when they hit the Net, and Mages can’t harness it for spellcasting as they can Mana. It has also been found that Essence can be stored within Emeralds for later use, or for trading. This has resulted in some characters making a living by hunting monsters to accumulate Essence, and then selling that Essence in the form of Essence-charged Emeralds to individuals who wish to ensure they have enough Essence on hand to not lose their items to the Net.
Recent Events (READ THIS IF YOU WANT TO HAVE ANY CLUE WHAT’S GOING ON)
What Your Character Would Definitely Know Of Recent Events
The Jensen Crisis: The first storyline of this server, now concluded. Below you’ll find a full explanation written by the player who controls the new Prophet. In short, an individual calling himself “Jensen” appeared on the islands, pursuing the five “Anerian Artifacts” hidden away in hanging temples beneath five of the main islands. It was believed that if all five artifacts were brought together that the Goddess Aneria could be released and that she would grant a single wish. Jensen turned out to be the reincarnation of Aneria’s husband from before the Islands were formed, and he possessed the ability to jump bodies whenever he present host was destroyed. Furthermore, he possessed great magical capabilities. Thus a race was started, as the players sought out the five Artifacts from various places on the Islands. During this time there was numerous confrontations with Jensen, where he revealed information about the world’s past and attempted to sieze control of the Artifacts. Interestingly, Jensen rarely attacked without being provoked. The Headmaster Arthon was concerned that the Artifacts were necessary for preserving the integrity of the Net, and without them the fabric of our world would begin to fray. Such proved true, as the Fatherland, home of the Medori, fell through a rift in the Net. Partway through the story, the Prophet Ravitz Lightstaff went a little insane, and eventually decided to assist Jensen. Near the end, Jensen took control of an ancient dragon and laid waste to the Capital, forcing the survivors to flee to the Mining Outpost. In the final showdown, Arthon slew Ravitz in a spectacular mage-duel, and the players assisted Arthon in binding Jensen’s soul to diamond shovel. The Goddess was released and freely fixed the Net. The wish was used to ask for her continued protection and guidance. Thus ended the Jensen Crisis, and we have at last returned to the Capital. It may be some time yet before life returns to normal and the damage done during the Crisis is repaired. In your application, you ought to include what your character was doing during the Jensen Crisis, or at the very least their opinion on the situation.
Ravitz Lightstaff: The now-deceased Prophet of Aneria. A skilled wielder of magic, Ravitz led the search for the Artifacts, going so far as utilizing magics forbidden to his order in order to seek them out. Sadly, he lost his way on the quest, and eventually joined Jensen. He murdered the prior Chancellor’s sister, Clarissa, in cold blood on her wedding day. His death at the finale of the Jensen Crisis was a truly tragic one.
Jensen: As was learned during the Jensen Crisis, there was in fact a time before the Raising. A world before the Islands. On that long forgotten land, a young girl named Aneria gained unbelievable powers, and took on the role of a Goddess. Under her guidance, the people prospered and thrived. She used her magic to make her husband, Jensen, immortal, yet still he aged and died. Instead of becoming ageless, he gained the ability to inhabit corpses when his current form became damaged to a certain extent. Such the Husband of the Goddess reincarnated for ages, until finally his mind began to deteriorate. He began a war on humanity, which humanity could not win. Unable to undo her own magic, the Goddess fled with as many humans as she could, creating the Islands as well as the Net around them to keep Jensen out. Meanwhile Jensen continued to kill those left on the surface. He was tired of living, and thought that if perhaps there were no hosts left to inhabit, that he would finally find peace. Instead, he ended up taking a hold of Esjenn, the then-leader of the Medori. The events following this would be the Jensen Crisis, as detailed above. Contrary to what was believed by some, he did not wish to use the Goddess’s wish to destroy humanity. He could have done that himself. He wanted to wish himself dead, after seeing his wife one last time. Instead, he was denied that wish. When Arthon presented his shovel-bound form to Aneria, she bade that the citizens of the Islands guard it. For now, Jensen’s rage is contained.
Fourth People: In the quest for the Artifacts, it was discovered that there was another race living on the islands. They seem to be long gone, and their history is still shrowded in mystery. One of the quests during hte first arc was exploring the remains of their primary city, which contained technologies far beyond what even the Chancellery currently has. We may return to this island in time.
Church: Following the death of Ravitz and the release of the Goddess, Severin Ignatius (Darkfirex) has been appointed as the new Prophet by the Goddess herself. It seems like he intends to usher in a new age of cooperation between the Academy and the Church, and repair the Church’s shattered reputation.
Chancellery: Following the Jensen Crisis, the Chancellor Adam Ceva resigned, and left the decision of the new Chancellor up to the Masters. They have since selected Oliver to fulfill this position.
Medori: With the loss of the Fatherland and their leader Esjenn, the Medori have established a new homeland on one of the other islands, and are in the process of rebuilding. They are currently governed by a council of sorts, until such a time as it becomes appropriate to select a new leader.
Prophet Severin Ignatius’s explanation of the Jensen Crisis (This is an excerpt from Severin’s journal, and is not necessarily common knowledge. It’s to help players understand the situation, not their characters. All the information ABOVE can be considered in-character common-knowledge)
The people of the Capital and the Fatherland removed the 5 Anerian Artifacts which help up the islands as well as the Net. Shortly after the final artifact was removed, the main islands started sinking. Medori island quickly fell through the net and the capital started to sink as well. Beams of light shot out across the sky from the 5 guardians who were awaken to retrieve all the artifacts, killing all those who would get in their way. Anyone near a clergy member watched as these white beans of light hunted them down and killed them. During all the chaos, the immortal bodysnatcher best known as “Jensen” transformed into a dragon, bringing death and havoc to all those who were on Medori island and the Capital. Individualas who were swift enough, got on ships which flew to the mining settlement which had suffered minimally. Several retrun trips to different islands were done to recover surviovors. As the death tolls amounted the survivors on the mining island tried making the best of the situation. With all 5 artifacts held by, Rinion, Ravitz, Oliver and Severin it would be possible to free the godess Aneria from her chamber, and thus the people would recieve one “wish.”
Ravitz, the old prophet of the church, considered an enemy of the capital, and removed from the church for his actions survived away from everyone else who prepared to fight the guradians of the artifacts. Each guardian came to the mining island, looking identical to the respective owners, were all fought off and killed. After the guardians were removed, Ravitz showed Severin where to find Aneria’s Chamber. He told him that he and Jensen would be there when the survivors would come. Thus, Severin, informing the people, guided them back to brightwater. Aneria was sealed deep within the catacombs of the church. Once everyone reached the convergence chamber where the artifacts would unlock the room to Aneria, Ravitz the ex-prophet and Arthon the head mage had a showdown. At the end of their duel, Arthon remained victorious, having slain Ravitz, who in his final moments handed Arthon the last needed Artifact. In turn, Arthon also was able to seal Jensen’s soul into an implement where he would be unable to seize and more bodies. With all the threats gone, all 5 artifacts were placed, breaking the seal where Aneria was held, and the survivors all entered Aneria’s chamber. Everyone saw the goddess Aneria released from the orb which held her, and she granted one wish for Rinion, Severin, Oliver and Arthon to decide upon. They wished for Aneria’s continued guidance and protection. Aneria thus restored the Net to save the islands and her people, and appointed Severin as her new Prophet.
Several weeks later, the survivors of the apocolypse returned to the capital to start from scratch, rebuilding from the remains of the city. The Medori needed to find a new island, so they moved to a smaller island a bit south of the mining island.
Presently, we continue to all rebuild what was lost, what was destroyed. With the old chancellor Adam Ceva resigning, it’s rumored that Oliver will be elected as the new chancellor. Besides that, we all look forward to a new age, a new era... or prosperity.
~~Severin Ignatius
Game Moderators (GMs) are in charge of enforcing The Rules. Standard procedure is first infraction is a warning, second is a 3-day ban, third is a permaban.
General Rules:
1. Be respectful of the server, other players, and the staff
2. Do not make offensive/racist remarks
3. Do not use profanities of any sort on the server or on our forums. In character, “Frak” may be used as a basic expletive.
4. While on the server, stay in character as much as possible
5. Do not advertise other servers
6. Do not troll/grief/spam etc.
7. Do not “Powergame”. This is where you force RP onto someone else, without giving them an opportunity to respond. An example would be “Chops off head” instead of “Swings axe at head”.
8. Do not landscar. This means don’t go making the map look less awesome. An example of what NOT to do would be digging random 1x2 tunnels in walls. Seriously man, not cool.
9. Do not “Metagame”. This means you should not use out-of-character (OOC) knowledge when playing as your character. An example would be having your guard character giving brewing advice to the local Herbalist. Even if OOC you know what ingredients make what potion, that doesn’t mean your character does.
10. Roleplay your character’s actions reasonably. No crazy running up walls, shooting fireballs, cloning yourself, turning into a werewolf or the like. You need Lore explanations for things like this. Currently the only supernatural/super-human elements in the Lore are Mages and Drakes, which are carefully regulated. Don’t go pestering Admins or Loremasters about allowing your super-character. You may, however, reasonably suggest additional lore elements in the Suggestion Box.
11. When in the local chat channel, speak primarily in character. Any OOC things you must say should have parentheses () put around them. There is also the OOC channel and private messaging to handle out of character conversations.
12. Not a rule, but HIGHLY SUGGESTED. Use proper spelling in grammar. In this thread, in your app, on our site. This alone does a lot to shape how people perceive you. Roleplay is about communication, and you need to be able to do so effectively.
13. Do not use hacks, flymods, X-rays or the like.
14. Do not post anything of a sexual nature, or links to inappropriate sites. As a general rule of thumb, keep things PG-13 or below.
15. Do not use programs to scan our ports, or similar programs used in hacking. If you are found to be utilizing these programs, it can result in an immediate permaban.
Combat, Death and Injury Rules:
1. Do not randomly go around attacking people. This applies to both hitting them with actual swords, and RPing a fight. Only fight another character if you have an RP reason to do so.
2. All character v character (CvC) combat should begin with RP. During RP combat, you may describe your character’s actions and reactions, but not those of your opponent.
3. “The Law of CvC”: Be reasonable. Could you REALLY dodge 20 arrows in a row? Can you REALLY punch through iron armor?
4. Use private messages to communicate with whoever you’re fighting with to resolve any questions.
5. The use of actual, in-game weapons (PvP) may be used only if both players agree to it beforehand.
6. A character may only die if their player assents, similar to them only being able to be injured if the player assents. By this I mean that the defending player always gets to decide how their character reacts to an attack, even a would-be fatal one, so they need to decide for their character to die. But remember rule 3, here. BE REASONABLE. Don’t go saying your character came back from the dead, made a miraculous escape, dodged a thousand swordstrokes or the like, just because you don’t want to lose your character. Man up and die. People will seriously respect you for it.
7. When you die due to a mob, falling, lava, etc., that isn’t an “RP-Death”. Your character didn’t REALLY die, unless you for some reason want to say they did (Want to change character?). Generally RP-Deaths only happen as a result of CvC.
8. Injuries. If you get injured in a CvC fight, or get injured by natural means and feel like it, RP IT! Play like you got injured, like you have a broken arm, like you’ve lost a lot of blood, etc. This isn’t really a rule, perse, so much as a guideline. As always, be reasonable. If you just CvC’d someone and barely won, you’ll be worn out (Injured) for your next fight.
Ban Appeals and Complaints:
1. If you have been banned and feel it was unfair, make a post in the Ban Appeal section of our forums, and we’ll look into it.
2. Similarly, there are sections of our forums designated for suggestions and abuse reports. If you feel there is something wrong with the server, let us know.
3. If nothing else, feel free to send an Admin a PM on our forums. We’re all friendly and reasonable people, and will do our best to help resolve any problems.
Building
1. Players may create new structures, but are required to RP out the process. Don’t just have a house appear overnight. Furthermore, it is recommended that characters talk with the Chancellor prior to the construction of a new building, to ensure its legality.
Before you read any more, go to our forums here, and make an account. Look around a bit. The Forums are an essential part of our server and our community, and you’ll be missing out if you ignore them. Our forums are connect to our website at aneria.enjin.com! We have seven classes available for players here in TAC: Laborer, Craftsman, Bladesman, Ranger, Mage, Priest, Alchemist and Paladin. We will be using a plugin, NoItem, to differentiate these classes by changes what they are capable of placing, breaking, wearing and wielding. Only the first of these four classes are available to starting characters. The last five are “trained” classes, and must be obtained through play. We will be using MagicSpells to add mechanic benefits to the acquisition of magic. These classes are meant to be rough archetypes, not defining descriptions of characters. For example, you could have one Laborer RP as a skilled miner, while another is a construction worker. Even though both characters are physically capable of doing the same things, that doesn’t mean they have the same job. Heck, a Laborer could decide to become a bartender and make food all day, if they wanted. There is more to a character than just their class.
All classes can use any shovel, and can break/place dirt, gravel, clay and sand. All classes can turn planks into sticks, and all classes can craft signs.
Laborer - Can place and break most blocks, can use any hoe, axe or pick. Can wear leather armor and use wood and stone swords. Can cook/craft any food. Can plant and harvest crops. Craftsman - Can craft most items (Books and paper being a notable exception). Can repair items at Anvils. Can smelt ores into metals. Can wear leather armor and use wood and stone swords. Can cook/craft any food. Can plant and harvest crops. Bladesman - Can wear any armor and use any sword. Ranger - Can wear leather and chainmail armor, and use wood, stone and iron swords as well as bows. Mage - Can wear leather armor and use a wooden sword. Can enchant. Wide variety of spells from MagicSpells. Priest - Can wear leather and gold armor, can use wood, stone and gold swords. Can enchant. Healing, buff and debuff spells from MagicSpells. Alchemist - Can wear leather armor and can use wooden and stone swords. Can brew potions. Can plant and harvest crops. Engineer - Can wear leather armor and use wooden and stone swords. Can place/break redstone components, wood-type blocks and wool. Can craft tools, redstone components, and wood-type blocks. Paladin - Can wear any leather or gold armor, can only wear iron chestplate. Can use any sword but diamond. Can learn a couple beginning Priest spells.
What is the worst thing in an RP server? To feel like you don’t belong, to feel like no one wants you. In addition to the Faction system listed below, we are trying an experimental system we are deeming “Character Linking Aid”. In short, this system allows new players to help connect with other applicants or players already on the server in order to establish things in RP like families, or long-standing friendships. Given our unique lore, this is possible even for characters that have been in the server for a long time. This is handled by a small section of our forums where old and new players alike may make “Wanted” topics, such as “Human Brother Wanted”. Players trying to get new characters accepted may then make posts on those topics, and try to come to an agreement with the poster of said topic. Players that have set up a Character Link have a slightly better chance of being accepted. Here is a link to that section of our forums.
The Whitelisting Process: After you submit the application form below, one of our valiant whitelisters (Listed above) will review your application. It will be either A. Accepted B. Deferred or C. Rejected/Declined. If you’re accepted, you will be added to the whitelist and a staff member will help set your name when you log in. If you’re deferred (Being deferred on your first try is very normal) the Whitelister will tell you what you need to improve, and you will be allowed to reapply. Revised applications should be put in a new post so that our Whitelisters do not skip over them. If you are deferred, the same Whitelister is responsible for all resubmissions, so please don’t freak out if the next whitelister to review apps doesn’t review yours. If your application is Rejected, then you are not allowed to reapply. This is reserved for individuals who have had their application repeatedly deferred without progress, or for applications that we do not believe are salvagable. If accepted, you will be added to the whitelist within 24 hours.
Characters should:
Not be too powerful
Not start with any magical knowledge
Not start in a position of power (Unless given express permission)
Not use obvious cliches
Not originate in/on settlements besides those listed in the Location Lore. You could start in the wilds, I suppose, but please do not make up new towns.
Not use names from popular movies/books/TV shows
Not be villainous/evil, unless you get a Villain Application accepted. It is recommended that villainous characters begin non-villainous, and change during play, though this is not a requirement.
Be generally realistic
Below are three tests that you can consider taking to help you get a better feel for your character. Completion of these tests are not required. Just tools at your disposal. Myers-Briggs-Typology-Indicator
Enneagram Type Indicator Mary Sue Test
Copy paste the form below and fill it out accordingly.

Character Information
Name: Hank
Age: 19
Class:
Physical description: Hank is an average teenager in terms of strength, he has brown hair and glasses. He generally wears jeans, and a brown overshirt with a yellow shirt underneath.
Biography (Minimum 400 words. Cannot include loved ones being killed, kidnapped, tortured, or the like, unless you can do it in a non-cliche manner.): Hank grew up in the capital city, with his father and mother who were both mages. Their names were Chris and Ramona, and they were both loving parents as well as excellent mages. He spent his whole childhood wanting to go to the academy, where he could learn magic himself! By the age of 7, he knew about rifts - but being a child didn't understand them and didn't really care. As he grew older, he started to understand them and at the age of 13 his father explained the different planes to him, and Hank was intrigued. He also learned about the church, and how they dissaproved of exotic magics, as his parents called them. His family believed in the goddess, but they didn't follow all the teachings of the church. As Hank got older, his desire got less for magic and more for learning. He started to like the church less and less, as he realized exotic magics could be used for learning in way that magic from chordus couldn't! All through his childhood he was shy, but came out of it when he reached his mid teenage years, but he still kept to himself. The only people he really knew were adults. One person he knew especially well was a travelling trader that his parents were friends with. He also wanted to learn, and he was 7 years older then Hank. One night when Hank was 19 his parents told him they were planning on leaving, and it was about time he joined the academy. He found out they were going to go live on a group of little islands, which had animals and fruit trees which they could live off of. After they left, he decided he was going to join the academy soon.
What is your character’s main goal? (Motivation): To learn as much as possible at the academy, and hopefully be able to learn outside the academy so he could contribute more knowledge to the academy
Strengths (Both physical and personality): His physical strength is that he's pretty tall, which could do him well in a fist fight even though he's pretty weak. his personality strength is that he is a very kind person, which could make him friends easy. If he saw a beggar on the road, he'd give them money. If a friend, or even just a person he knew was having a hard time, he'd help them out. The reason he's so kind is because he doesn't know many people, and the ones he does are all nice. He thinks all people are nice like that.
Weaknesses (Both physical and personality): His physical weakness is that he's weak, so while he's tall he can still punch out smaller oponents, he can't do many things such as moving heavy objects.
His personality weakness is that he would put himself in harms way in his search for knowledge, which could end up ending his life.
Will your character likely join an existing faction? If so, which? If not, why not?: Nope, none currently available
Does your character have any connections to currently-existing characters or characters yet to be accepted? If so, which? (See “Character Linking Aid”. Please post a link to the topic.):
In-Character-Responses (ICRs. For each scenario, write at least a paragraph describing entirely in-character how your character would respond to the situation.Your ICRs will be used to see how well you can RP. Please post them as if in IC chat. An example can be found after this form.)
Walking down the streets of the Capitol, you encounter a pair of heavily armed and armoured men harassing a young girl.
Hank would slip away out of the mens' site. After that he would walk down the streets of the capital until he found some guards. He would go with the guards to make sure the men were still there. After that, he would take the girl home to her parents.
A man approaches you with a proposition - Go to Bloodstone and retrieve something for him, and you will be well rewarded.
Hank would refuse to go to bloodstone, as he does not yet know magic and he would most certainly die there.
You pass an old man lying on the side of the street, begging for food.
Hank would hand the old man some gold, and head back home and get some food. He would then bring the food to the old man to give him the energy to make it to the marketplace to buy more food. After that, he would try to set the man up with a house.
In a tavern, a slightly inebriated fellow insults your mother.
After the old man insulted her Hank would reply with "You never even met my mother, you stupid drunk" and calmly get up and leave the bar. After that, he would go home and try to forget the man, very well knowing he might never see his mother again.
You take a liking to a beautiful necklace a passing woman wears.
Hank would ignore the necklace, as he's no thief and he has no use for such an object. He would much rather spend his money on more important things such as helping a poor man out, food for himself or books that could further his studies.
Do you have any questions about the server or our lore? Nope
Other notes: Remember when SUMF went here? I sure do!
EDIT: First! OMG GUYS I GOT FIRST REPLY GIMME ALL THE COOKIES! MOM GET THE CAMERA I GOT THE FIRST REPLY ON THIS!
Norradjer99- Firstly, your skin is inappropriate for the setting of the server. It seems like you just looked up a skin for a student and modeled the way your character looked after that. That's not how you should go about it. Instead, decide in your head what your character looks like, then look for a skin. There are folk on the forums that may help you create a skin. Keep searching for a more appropriate skin or make a request of a friend to create one.
-Secondly, "His physical weakness is that he's weak, so while he's tall he can still punch out smaller opponents he can't do many things such as moving heavy objects." Being tall doesn't mean that you'll be able to automatically punch people out.. This sets up your character to be good at everything. "He's tall so he can punch people out, but he's weak so he can't move heavy things." Either make him weak or strong, he cannot be both.
-Thirdly, this app is really.. Dry. Flesh him out a bit more. His only personality trait seems to be that he's kind. He needs real flaws. Not just, "he would put himself in harms way in his search for knowledge, which could end up ending his life."
-Lastly, it doesn't really seem necessary for your parents to have left. There's no character development there, other then he'd say "My parents left." This needs a lot of work. You're free to re-apply. Good luck!
Before I apply, do you think I could get an example picture of what to look like? I cannot quite figure out what time period this is, though I lean towards medieval/steampunk because of Goddess Aneria and then Airships.

You're spot-on! We're somewhere between Steampunk and standard High Fantasy.
You're spot-on! We're somewhere between Steampunk and standard High Fantasy.
But be sure not to add too much steampunk to a skin though. From the way the server currently looks and runs, brass knobs, bolts, screws, and plates (And etc) aren't a common sight just yet. A traditional steampunk skin (You know, red/brown leather, goggles, that whole fancy garb) wouldn't fit in as well as opposed to an ordinary fantasy alchemist skin.
Alright. I'll take that in mind. If I have goggles, I'll be sure to write it out somewhere in my backstory as to why I have them.
Also, will it become more steampunk-y along the way of RP?
That's the idea! Resident redstone genius and plugin manager Baeshra will be playing the role of the leading inventor at the Factory, and steampunk-type technology may become increasingly common over the course of play.
Alright. I'll take that in mind. If I have goggles, I'll be sure to write it out somewhere in my backstory as to why I have them.
Also, will it become more steampunk-y along the way of RP?
There's always the possibility of that becoming true, but from what I've seen and heard, I believe it will become more fantasy AND steampunk, but similar to what I stated before, there's also the possibility it will lean to only one side. That's primarily up to the players which path they wish to take. The least I can say is join us and wait and see then adjust according as such.
Mm. I will attempt to weasel my way into Baeshra's workshop and speed up the process. I have a good backstory forming in my mind as I make my skin. Before I write it, are books on (EXTREMELY) basic redstone-ness/steam/technology common stuff?

Character Information
Name: Edward "Eddie" Collins
Age: 25
Class: Laborer
Physical description: Relatively tall (6'1"), lean build, tanned skin, blond-streaked brown hair, wears a bowler cap, red coat, black undershirt, white scarf, and black boots. Front tooth is chipped, and his hands appear to be scarred quite a bit. Not unattractive, but won't win any beauty contests.
Screen capture of your skin:
Biography (Minimum 400 words. Cannot include loved ones being killed, kidnapped, tortured, or the like, unless you can do it in a non-cliche manner.): Edward Collins, called Eddie by his friends, was born a simple farmer to two loving parents. When Eddie was four years old, his younger sister Jasmine was born, and from the moment her strong little hand grasped Eddie's, he promised himself he'd never let anything happen to her. His mother died during childbirth, leaving Eddie's father in charge of two children under five. The man performed remarkably, due in no small part to Eddie's self-reliance. The boy could dress himself, feed himself, and do minor work in the fields by the age of six (milking the cows, carrying small bundles of wheat, etc.). Now, Eddie's father loved his wife dearly, and her passing left a mark on him, but he was determined to provide a good life for his children. He played with Eddie, doted on Jasmine, and earned a modest living from his crops. On Eddie's eighth birthday, his father showed him how he could afford the airship toy that he had gotten. Cockfighting. Eddie was enthralled; he wanted to be as good as his father someday at the sport. Well, that wish didn't come true. He became better than his father, better than anyone on the islands. One day, after a particularly brutal match, Eddie's father took off his hat and put it on the boy's head. Eddie, then fifteen, just looked up at his father, who was already heading home.
********
"Dad?! Dad?!" Eddie shouted, coughing wildly. The heat was unbearable. Smoke was clouding his thoughts and lungs. "Dad!" he tried to shout, but only another cough escaped his mouth. On the way to the pile of rubble, he tripped, a sharp pain shooting through his jaw. He spit out a piece of tooth, struggling to his feet Eddie lifted up the fallen ceiling from his father. There was no reply. He shook the prone man. Still no reply. "Please!" he choked out. "Please, you have to wake up! Dad, please..." "Eddie...?" a voice squeaked. Eddie whirled around. Jasmine was standing there, her face ashen pale. Eddie, tears streaming down his face, shouted over the roaring flames with a new-found strength, "Dad, I love you! Thank you, for everything!" and ran to Jasmine, hoisting her over his shoulder and dashing with all of his might to the front yard. "Eddie? What happened to Daddy?" Jasmine whispered in a tiny voice as Eddie collapsed on the lawn, panting and coughing. Eddie said nothing, just clutched his last living family member like she was a helium balloon, and he was covered in butter. He was eighteen, she fourteen.
********
Eddie straightened his hat. Big match today. He adjusted his scarf. Too damn hot for this thing... he thought. He kept it on. He looked out the window. Fields're lookin' good this year... He pulled on his boots, starting towards the door. As the two roosters pecked at each other, Eddie lowered the tip of his hat. Thissun's for you, Dad. He continued shouting gleefully as his rooster gained the upper hand, jumping for joy when the other one fell over. "Aw, Jas's gonna be real excited 'bout t'night's haul!" he said to himself, weighing the prize money in his hand and whistling happily as he headed back to the farm.
What is your character’s main goal? (Motivation): To live life to its fullest, while keeping his little sister from any and all harm, and to a lesser extent, everyone else.
Strengths (Both physical and personality): Lean and muscular from years of working on his farm, fiercely loyal, good-humored, brilliant teacher and strategist, able to patch up cuts and gashes
Weaknesses (Both physical and personality): A bit TOO protective of his younger sister, relatively uneducated, jumps to conclusions rather quickly, can be hotheaded, cold to anyone he considers an opponent
Will your character likely join an existing faction? If so, which? If not, why not?: No; he just doesn't have an interest in doing so.
Does your character have any connections to currently-existing characters or characters yet to be accepted? If so, which? (See “Character Linking Aid”. Please post a link to the topic.): Yes; if she agrees to the backstory, Issie (Pubble123) will be playing his younger sister, Jasmine.

He grins, his chipped tooth showing prominently. He replaces his hat when the girl is finished, bidding her farewell.
A man approaches you with a proposition - Go to Bloodstone and retrieve something for him, and you will be well rewarded.
Eddie snorts. "No reward's worth the trip t' Bloodstone, brother. Got me a pretty comfy life here, with my skull still intact." Eddie walks away from the man, shoving his hands into his pockets.
You pass an old man lying on the side of the street, begging for food.
Eddie looks at the sack of fresh produce he was meant to deliver to the Academy, then back at the old man. He kneels down and hands some carrots, apples, and a bit of tobacco to the old man. Without another word, he tips his hat and walks off, willing to accept the reduced selling price for the lost goods.
In a tavern, a slightly inebriated fellow insults your mother.
"Hey, boy! Ye think yer chickens make ye sooooo speshul?! I been fightin since b'fore yew could WALK, an' whaddo I get? Jack squat! Y'know, yer MUM an' me 'ad a li'l 'encounter' a while back, leas' I think it wazz 'er, can't really tell th' diff'rence b'tween all the workin' ladies, mebbe tha' precious sister o' yers is..." the man is cut off by an abrupt "ENOUGH!" from Eddie. His nostrils flaring, Eddie speaks slowly. "You can insult me. A dead woman can't hear your insults. But t' even IMPLY that Jasmine came from loins as shriveled an' cold as yers is too frakking far. Y'think yer chickens could beat mine? Fine. Ten o'clock, tomorrow, we'll see who's th' better cockfighter." He exits the tavern with a slamming of the door.
You take a liking to a beautiful necklace a passing woman wears.
Eddie places a mental note to consider the necklace as a birthday present for Jasmine; it's a fairly common make.

Character Information
Name: Aura Lupa
Age: 25
Class: Laborer, aspiring to be a alchemist.
Physical description: Caucasian, red hair, blueish green eyes, typically wears a purple coat with hood.
Biography (Minimum 400 words. Cannot include loved ones being killed, kidnapped, tortured, or the like, unless you can do it in a non-cliche manner.):
Born Aura Boras on a small island away from the capital into a small family Aura spent most of her young life watching the world and thinking up imaginative stories. While her mother cared for her and her father did his research. During her fifth year of life a group of people appeared at her home declaring her father a traitor to the goddess Aneria. After a long verbal argument these ‘men’ turned violent and killed her father. Stating only one thing before they left: “Never fear the Church will never abandon you, as long as you never abandon the Goddess.” It wasn’t until she found her father’s research, when she was ten that she learned why they came after him; He was a practicing Necromancer. Though she still didn’t understand exactly what was wrong with being a necromancer.
When she turned fifteen she started writing, mostly stories to entertain her younger siblings and her neighbor’s children. She quickly found that she loved writing and actively wrote whenever she had free time. If an idea for a story sprung up in her head she wanted to write it down, no matter how silly or dark. Writing became her passion and the only thing other than her family that she truly cared for. Life was well for a few years until a Priest of Aneria showed up. She didn’t trust the man. And he was constantly watching her. For him it was because of her interest in writing that he wanted to see what she could do with it. For her, she was sure he was going to kill her like the other member of the Church had done to her father. So she ran away and changed her name to Aura Lupa.
With her new name she cautiously looked to pursue her interest in writing. Upon hearing of the Academy in the capital, she made the choice that she would go there and become a great writer. All while cautiously avoiding the gaze of the Church. On her way to the capital by airship she became enamored with airships. She wanted to know more about them, how they work and how to fly them.
What is your character’s main goal? (Motivation): To become a writer and to learn how to fly an airship.
Strengths (Both physical and personality): Farming, animal husbandry, writing (fiction), quiet (both in voice and physically quiet), tends to pick up on new things fairly quickly
Weaknesses (Both physical and personality): Dislike of the church, tends to be reclusive from anyone new, isn’t good at using weaponry. She is paranoid about the church and believes they are after her.
Will your character likely join an existing faction? If so, which? If not, why not?:
No, because none of the current factions fit her.
Does your character have any connections to currently-existing characters or characters yet to be accepted? If so, which? (See “Character Linking Aid”. Please post a link to the topic.):
It is possible in the future as she does have siblings. (Unknown amount of siblings... and they are nameless as of now.)
In-Character-Responses (ICRs. For each scenario, write at least a paragraph describing entirely in-character how your character would respond to the situation. Your ICRs will be used to see how well you can RP. Please post them as if in IC chat. An example can be found after this form.)
Walking down the streets of the Capitol, you encounter a pair of heavily armed and armoured men harassing a young girl.
*Notices heavily armed men harassing a young girl*
*It’s a trap. I just know it. The church has set up this trap to get. Not gona work* (thought)
*Proceeds to turn around and walk calmly to the nearest guard* “excuse me sir but there is the group of men harassing a young girl that way”*points in the direction of the men*
Guard: “Not again… Thank you, your service to the chancellery is much appreciated”
*watches the guard walk away.* “You didn’t get me today!”*continues about her business*
A man approaches you with a proposition - Go to Bloodstone and retrieve something for him, and you will be well rewarded.
Aura: “No, not worth it”
Man: “But.. Fine I’ll pay you double!”
Aura: “Still no. I am not going anywhere with you, or for you. I am not the idiot you think I am.”
Man: “I don’t think you’re an idiot”
Aura: “Suuure you don’t. If you reaaaallly want someone to go on the adventure for you ask someone else”
Man: “Why I never!”*storms off*
You pass an old man lying on the side of the street, begging for food.
*They are watching me.. this is a test.*
“Here old man”*hand the man some food*
Man: “Thank you! Thank you! May the goddess bless you!”
*eye twitch*” I knew it”*mutters under-breath before walking off*
In a tavern, a slightly inebriated fellow insults your mother.
*ignores that man*
Man: “Hahahaha Guess I was right!”*hic* “Did ja hear her mother be a ..”
*walks over to the man and slams her foot onto his instep before walking out of the building*
You take a liking to a beautiful necklace a passing woman wears.
“No. Don’t need it. The church would find out anyway. They can’t focus on me. Ever.” *softly mutters to self before continuing walking.*

Ziaodo - By no means a perfect app, but you've proven yourself an above-average RPer time and time again, and I love the character setup. Welcome to the new world.
Wow, another RP server is up! Missed the old days of rping with you guys! Bit disappointed that I can't use Atticus Finch as my Rp name, but I'll probably apply sometime soon.

Have you read all of the rules, agree to abide by them, and by the decisions of our staff?: INDUBITABLY!
What is the definition of “Powergaming”?: When you force an RP situation on someone that might not be fair, like disintegrating them instantly with your mind lasers powered by Jupiter.

What is the definition of “Roleplay”?: When you take the place of someone else, maybe in an entirely different world, and live out their life and actions as they would.
Who can use flymod, X-ray and other such clientsided mods?: No one.
When are you allowed to cause the death of another character?: When they give their assent.
When are you allowed to speak out of character?: Only in the OOC channel, and in private messages with other players.

Who is allowed to use magic?: Mages and Priests, but only after they've earned it through RP. Plus, staff who start out with it.
When was our current government formed, and under what circumstances?: 169 A.R., after the Warden of the East rebelled and killed nearly the entire Linyera family, then put in place the current government.
Who are the Fallen?: A group of people, proficient at magic, who were mostly secluded from the rest of humans when the islands were raised. They are generally superstitious and un-confrontational.
Who are the Order of Aradin?: An order of knights meant to protect the Chancellery from any kind of attack, mostly from Bloodstone island.
What is the job of the Master of Blades? The Master of Blades is basically the town's guard captain, running the town guard.
What previous roleplay experience have you had, if any?: Many forum RPs, and also many RP servers.
If you have played on other RP servers, please say which and why you left: Dragonsreach, it fell into disarray. Ruined World, it pattered off gradually. Others I can't remember, mostly because they flew apart at the seams. Shrines of the Ancients, it got a sequel. Year 2065, though I haven't left.
Character Information
Name: Collier Sebastian Morgan.
Age: 32.
Class: Laborer.
Physical description: Collier is a rather average-looking young adult, short at 5 foot 11 inches, and rather skinny at first glance, but you realize his muscles are wiry but very there. He has long black hair, which he tends to keep under loose and scraggly, that wildly creeps out and goes to mid-back. He wears a long-sleeved wooly light brown shirt, with a leather vest over it. He tucks the shirt in with a simple black belt. He wears pants the same shade of brown as his shirt, and wears leather boots. His hands are rough, and covered in callouses and scars. To be fair, most of his covered body has scars. Many on his back are from whips, but several are from weapons. Collier's eyes are haggard, dark, and surrounded by circles, the eyes of a man who has seen hell.
Screen capture of your skin:
Biography (Minimum 400 words. Cannot include loved ones being killed, kidnapped, tortured, or the like, unless you can do it in a non-cliche manner.): Collier had a horrid childhood. He grew up an urchin, as he mostly slept out on the streets. He never had a mother, as she high-tailed it after she gave birth to this filthy miner, who she doesn't remember what she saw in. His father was a miner, well, during the day. He apparently had a huge resistance to hangovers, as he'd drink every single night with the other miners after a long day on the border's mines. Unfortunately, the problems started when he got home. Often Collier's father was off of a huge, happy high, and it put him into a red-seeing rage to see the squalid surrounds of his home, even if he was the one who caused them.
Usually, he took this out on Collier, who still has whipping scars to this day on his back. So for Collier, the choice was easy when he was young. Sleep on the streets, or pray that his father fell asleep right after stumbling in. There was no intervention, no well-meaning priests of neighbors who came by to help the boy, who sometimes crammed himself in the filthy conditions under his bed. Priests, GOOD priests, Collier grew up learning, were for those who lived in the CAPITOL. Not for some far-out island hillbilly like him.
Collier didn't ever learn if his father was sorry for this, or even if he remembered his drunken beatings. However, as Collier grew older, he grew stronger. And then, a new option presented itself to him: Hit back. Collier remembered the first punch he threw at his father. He was 13, still so young. As his father leaned on the doorframe heavily before entering, he looked at the house, with furniture up on the walls, and various stains on the cracked wooden floors. "You didn't CLEAN today? Heh, well, I'mmana teach you a lesson, boy!"
Collier's fists began to shake as his father unbuckled his belt. He took a step forward, and cried out in a high voice, "You better not touch me! Or... I'll hit you!" He suddenly clumsily charged to his father, who knocked him aside easily. Collier's father leaned down, and whispered drunkenly in the boy's ear, "If you do that again, I won't go so easily on you as I will tonight." Collier proceeded to get the harshest belting of his life... Key word, belting. His father bought a whip after this.
However, one night when Collier couldn't leave the house, and his father cornered him, Collier felt even angrier at his father than normal. Screw the whip in his father's hands, HE was going to be the one who caused the pain this time! Collier screamed at his father as he threw himself at him. His dad never had the chance to defend himself. In moments, Collier had him on the ground, throwing passionate punch, after punch, after punch!
He kept this going, as the house creaked around him, and his father croaked at him to stop. However, he kept punching and punching... It was clockwork. He'd punch his father... Punch... Punch... Punch... His punches got weaker, and he started sobbing around midnight, but Collier kept weakly hitting his father's chest... Before passing out, on the ground next to his father, Collier distinctly remembers hearing his father muttering something, though for the life of him he can't remember what. Collier woke up very late the next afternoon, with no sign of his father... Apparently he had high-tailed it out of there, to a different island to mine on. The captain of the ship that took him over said he looked like he had been laid upon by somebody with a deep, deep grudge.
Collier almost felt like passing out just after hearing this. He turned 17 next month, and got a job as a miner... He never touched alcohol, though. Collier did spend time at the bar though, if only to keep his thoughts distracted. The bar was mostly nice like that, loud, usually happy and bright. Though it was the town's bar, it was mostly the miners who came at night. Unfortunately, drunk miners tend not to be the most sensitive people, so many times they prodded Collier about his father. This inevitably led to a fight, which inevitably led to Collier desperately trying not to kill the man he fought.
However, the bar really was a public one, so people were inevitably around to see Collier's occasional fights. They were quite the source of amusement for the town, which made Collier even more angry at the community at large, so he buried himself in work. Only occasionaly coming out of his shell to fight again. This, sadly, got the attention of the slow-decaying Thieves Guild, who had turned to alternate sources of income with the hard times. One of these was arena fighting.
Arena fighting was exactly what it sounds like. Two men enter, one man leaves. Whether the other one is dead or alive doesn't matter at all, no one cares about the loser. Often, the loser has to drag himself to his cell before someone else takes it. And so it was with Collier, after he was abducted. Of course, he brought in HUGE amounts of revenue. His sporadic rages were quite the thing, apparently.
The conditions were hell. Even after they knew they had something special, the Guild did nothing to ensure Collier didn't die of disease. The cells had dirt floors, crumbling ceilings, and were wet in the summer and cold in the winter. There were puddles in most areas, and all the cells for fighters were stalked by rats, who would often fight harder than the fighters for food. The only solid thing that the cells had in common was the hard, sturdy steel bars.
The Theives Guild still had to give him a special cell, so that he would stop trying to get rid of his guards. And they could hardly take away his weapons, as cutting off his fists would be... Stupid. So the Guild was stuck. They quickly realized, before the populace, that the fighting would get boring for people. Then one struck upon the idea of pairing up their "Star" with men with weapons. Of course, the higher-ups loved the idea, and one day Collier found himself facing a man with a knife in the arena.
At first, he thought they were trying to kill him off! Of course, then he fought tooth and nail. His theory was further supported by the fact that the men they kept paring him against had different weapons... However, soon Collier found more and more ways for disarming opponents. But, after he has disarmed someone, the fights grew to become stale boring fist fights, at which Collier was brutally effective.
It was extremely clear that in a few years, maybe less, the Thieves Guild would disappear entirely, and several members were already making insurances to keep their fortunes, while sabatoging the rest. One of the higher-up members, supposedly, had a daring plan to quicken the end, by limiting funds, of the Theives Guild. He set the prisoners free. Naturally, no one knew that it was him, but there were always rumors. Even though this was a minor setback, it was only one prison/fighting arena, in what was still a relatively large organization, it did help set the Thieves Guild back a bit.
The Sky Islands were awash with stories about prison fighters for a while, but these proved to largely be a fad. The bitter reality was, after years of fighting merely to exist, Collier simply was ejected back into the world with barely a nod. To this day, his is a bitter, angry person deep inside, and though his temper is slow to awaken, when it does, Collier is reminded of the hell he went through. And he loves to take it out on people.
What is your character’s main goal? (Motivation): To live a happy and simple life, which has eluded him so much. Also, to not have to resort to arena fighting again.
Strengths (Both physical and personality): Collier is an extremely strong man, and the best at what he does. He knows a large amount of wrestling and fighting moves, and is especially good at disarming opponents with his rough combatants. To clarify, Collier isn't graceful or peaceful in his fighting style at all, his moves are rough and hard combat skills. He is also a very direct person, not telling any lies, or beating around the bush. While this can come across as being brutality, he can work with people, just as long as he can do his job and be left alone.
Weaknesses (Both physical and personality): Collier is NOT someone who works with authority figures. He has spent his whole miserable life without any help from the government, so why should he care about it? While Collier is not quick to anger, when you do get him riled up it takes forever to get him calmed down. This has led to several minor street-scuffles almost turning into murders, which is something that he regrets, but can't stop by himself.
Does your character have any connections to currently-existing characters or characters yet to be accepted? If so, which? (See “Character Linking Aid”. Please post a link to the topic.): Not yet...
Collier looks down at himself. Filthy, weaponless, and unarmored. Normally, Collier would turn the other cheek with something like this, but when he sees the young girl's age, he starts to get angry. Instead of talking to the thugs, however, he walks down the street straight to them. One of them calls out, "Beat it, homeless freak! We got bigger fish to fry!" Instead of responding, Collier keeps walking angrily to him, taking deeper and deeper breaths with each step. The other stands in a defensive position, holding up his sword. Though the man looks like he knows how to use it, one look at the girl again convinces Collier.
Quickly Collier feints and uppercut, and the man laughs, going to chop off Collier's hand. However, he soon feels something completely different, as Collier side-steps and gives a sturdy right hook to the temple. The other gapes for a moment, but throws the girl to the ground and holds a sword to her neck. "Don't move or she gets it!" Jonathon freezes. The thug stands up slowly, "That's right, stay there..." He drags the girl into an alleyway off the street, yet Collier remains frozen, unsure of what to do. He sprints into the alleyway.
A man approaches you with an offer - Go to Bloodstone island to retrieve something for him, and you will be well-paid.
Collier nearly burst out laughing. "Come on, a job like that's easy! What's the catch?" The man hardly seems surprised at Collier, and says, "Isn't it obvious? It's Bloodstone island. But as I said, you will be well-paid if you retrieve this." Collier shrugs, and cracks his neck to either side. "I can handle it, I've been in worse situations." The man sighs. "I heard you tend not to use weapons?" "Yeah, so?" "You'll need some to get to what I want." Collier laughs at the man, and just walks to the boat. He knows, he's gonna get PAID!
You pass an old man lying on the side of the street, begging for food.
Collier laughs, and slumps down next to the man. "You in a rut also?" The man nods sadly. "I lost everything in a fire..." Collier sniffs before believing the man, smelling for alcohol. Guy seems sober. "Well, I didn't really have much to begin with..." Collier laughs a bitter laugh, without laugh lines. He examines his filthy nails for a moment, before scratching at his cheek.. The old man says nothing, familiar with people like Collier. There was a silence here, punctuated by either of them asking for food whenever someone happened to pass by.
In a tavern, a slightly inebriated fellow insults your mother.
Collier looks at the man angrily. "Oh yeah, call her a harlot will you? Well you know what? She was!" Collier went to a different table on the other side of the room, and tried to keep down his anger. Unfortunately, his tempered simmered, and he occasionally hit a table or a wall. The barkeep was too terrified to ask him to leave, and soon the silence surrounding him grew even deeper as people abandoned their tables near him. Collier stared into the candle for a few minutes, averting his gave to wipe his eyes now and again. His hands shook slightly, and he couldn't seem to keep them still. All the while staring daggers into the back of the man who had insulted his mother, dirty woman she was.
You take a liking to a beautiful necklace a passing woman wears.
Collier glances at the necklace of the woman. So, he begins to approach her. The young woman is, naturally, a bit frightened by this rough looking man approaching her, and begins to walk away. Collier shouts after her, "Hey! Where'd ya get the necklace! I'm in'trested!" The woman, however, doesn't dignify him with a response, and instead walks ever faster away. Collier begins to trot after her, but sighs eventually. "Bah, didn't need that frakin' woman's necklace anyways, looked cheap..." Dejected, Collier put his hands in his pockets and slumps away.

(No, I don’t know what that means either. I’m still posting it here so he doesn’t feel left out, though)
(We DO have a lot of crazy politics going on...)
Intro Lore

Holidays:
The Medori New Year - The Anniversary of the Rising.

Enneagram Type Indicator
Mary Sue Test

Character Information
Name: Hank
Age: 19
Class:
Physical description: Hank is an average teenager in terms of strength, he has brown hair and glasses. He generally wears jeans, and a brown overshirt with a yellow shirt underneath.
Screen capture of your skin: http://www.planetmin...a-good-student/ (totally didnt type in student in pmc to get this)
Biography (Minimum 400 words.
Good luck!
You're spot-on! We're somewhere between Steampunk and standard High Fantasy.
Also, will it become more steampunk-y along the way of RP?
That's the idea! Resident redstone genius and plugin manager Baeshra will be playing the role of the leading inventor at the Factory, and steampunk-type technology may become increasingly common over the course of play.

In the girl, Eddie sees his younger sister. His face contorted with rage, Eddie charges the men. *** As the girl dabs medicine on Eddie's many cuts, he winces with pain. "Mister, you really didn't have to do that for me..." "Well, y'know, at least they left affer they were done beatin' the..." he sharply inhales breath as the girl rubs a cut on his forehead, "...crap out o' me." He grins, his chipped tooth showing prominently.

Screen capture of your skin: http://imgur.com/gMQFCBy

Walking down the streets of the Capitol, you encounter a pair of heavily armed and armoured men harassing a young girl.

Other notes: I miss the SUMF. Maybe we can have a Secret Aboveground Melon Farm?
Riengo- An excellent app, but I'll need to talk to you about your backstory. Check your messages on the enjin forums. I look forward to seeing your character IC.
I'm a man of few words and many voices.
