Carl97, I would like you to try again with this app. There are just a couple of small things you could fix;
A longer bio would be great, with a bit more detail about things please. Also, in one part he sounds like a thief/hobo, and I don't think you can make a makeshift forge out of hobo stuff, haha.
If you could add a little more character to your ICR, to make your character a bit more unique. Give it a twist only that person would do!
And finally, please try and redo your Strengths and Weaknesses. What you listed for both parts are not really strengths or weaknesses. Think more emotional. Have a look at other apps and see what I mean.
I hope you understand, these are small things and if these things are fixed then you have a good chance of getting in next time ok? If you are unsure about your app, contact a whitelister, or go on the site http://aneria.enjin.com/ and ask about it. We are always willing to help or answer questions
Hope to see your redone app soon! Also, Deremotive, I won't review your app till its all there. Just post it when you can, ok?

I'm not sure how to change the ICRs to make Ultan more unique. I've tried adding some parts to the responses, but it doesn't change them or him very much, it just makes them a bit longer.

longer is always a start, but just think of a way to make his action's less generic. Adding unique dialogue is one way, but if you tried to redo your strengths/weaknesses, you can use that in your ICRs. Us white-listers use ICRs as a way to gauge your RP skills and also as a way to get to know your character apart from the bio. It's like the bio continued in a way. I can't tell you exactly what to write, but I hope this was helpful at all.
Application, take 2. Aaand, ACTION! *Claps clapper thingy*

Do you have a Skype? If so, what is your Skype Name? (This is by no means required and holds no weight on your acceptance. We just use Skype a lot): Not anymore, even though I used to.
Have you read all of the rules, agree to abide by them, and by the decisions of our staff?: Oui
What is the definition of “Powergaming”?: To perform an action on another player without giving them a chance to react, such as “Cuts off Luke’s hand (bad)” versus “Swings lightsaber at Luke’s hand (good)”
What is the definition of “Metagaming”?: Using information that the player knows OOC to give their character an advantage.
What is the definition of “Roleplay”?: Like acting, but it’s all improv in a constantly changing world where you make decisions in a made-up person’s shoes.
Who can use flymod, X-ray and other such clientsided mods?: Nobody.
When are you allowed to cause the death of another character?: When the other player consents to it.
When are you allowed to speak out of character?: In whispers, OOC chat, or ((like this)).
Have you read the primary server lore of our server and agree to roleplay in accordance with it?: Yes
Who is allowed to use magic?: Characters that go through the Academy to become a class that can use it, or characters with special permission from Welknair to begin with the ability to use it.
Who are the Fallen?: A race of generally superstitious, peaceful people on their own floating island that recently stopped near the Anerians’.
When and how did our current government come to be?: The prophet of the Church, Kaldun, organized the assassination of the monarch, and ended up getting the Church a very bad name. Tybalt Bennet, the Warden of the East at the time, organized his own rebellion against the Linyera dynasty, defeating them in the battle on the Plains of Raun. Bennet sets up his own government with a chancellor (naturally, it was Bennet), and three Masters of Sword, Coin and Word in 169 A.R.
Who are the Order of Aradin?: A now weak group of people formed to protect the Chancellor and address the threat of Bloodstone Island.
What are the Net and Essence?: The Net is a magical force that, when a being falls off the islands, teleports them back onto the nearest land. It will also take any non-living materials back, too, if the victim has a certain amount of Essence, which is a simple, but not very versatile form of Mana that anyone can use. Essence can be stored in emeralds, which can be used as currency.
What previous roleplay experience have you had, if any?: All other roleplay experience has been on SA servers.
If you have played on other RP servers, please say which and why you left: Silver Age ended in a necromancer’s dream, and I left Book of Halegron because I have very little free time and had recently obtained a wonderful thing known as Team Fortress 2.
Character Information
Name: Ultan Boras
Age: 22
Class: Craftsman, works as a blacksmith (I miss Djeck, ok?)
Physical description: White guy with dark brown hair, an epic beard, and dark green eyes.
Screen capture of your skin:
Biography (Minimum 400 words. Cannot include loved ones being killed, kidnapped, tortured, or the like, unless you can do it in a non-cliche manner.): Ultan was born into a small, but happy, family with a father, a mother, and an older sister. They lived on a small island, nestled away from the busy Capitol, and there was nothing particularly unusual about this family of four. The boy was well raised by two caring parents, until tragedy struck when he was only three: The Church of Aneria murdered his father. Young Ultan had no memories of his father, so he only knew him through stories his sister, Aura, and his mother told him. From what his sister told him, he knew that his father was a good man, a hard worker, and hadn’t done anything wrong. So why would someone want to kill him? Without a known reason behind the attack, and from his sister’s fear of them, Ultan grew up with a distrust of the Church and its members. He lived in this shaken home until he was fifteen, when a Church priest began taking interest in Aura. Scared, and without money or a plan, Ultan ran away, not wanting to see his sister die. Ultan took care of himself in the shady slums from then on, taking what money and food he needed from unwatched wallets and unguarded stores. He managed to save up enough to buy materials to make a poorly built lean-to. It wasn’t much, but it was a place to sleep, so Ultan didn’t complain. This continued for a few years until he nabbed a book on smithing from a sleeping librarian. He decided to see if he could get money through more honest means, and put together a makeshift forge from metal “borrowed” from the shipyards. It made the shack he lived in a bit hot and stuffy, but once he cut some ventilation in the walls it became much easier to breathe. Over the years, he honed his skills, and became quite a good blacksmith. Both honest and questionable people came to him, but Ultan didn’t care about what his creations did after he sold them. He was just happy that he could support himself. Then, one day, he returned to his forge after taking a walk to get out of the hot, stale air of the forge to find it destroyed beyond repair by some vandals, with markings painted all over the walls and all of his materials and tools gone. Now, in the same state as he ran away seven years ago, Ultan is wandering around the city, looking for a new place to set up shop.
What is your character’s main goal? (Motivation): Surviving, and maybe becoming a known smith, whether it be in the honest or shady side of the population.
Strengths (Both physical and personality): Ultan has a strong will to survive, making it through dark places in his life others may not have. He’s a very capable smith, and he doesn’t beat around the bush to get around to telling you something. He is very trusting and loyal when you’ve earned his trust, and will always back up an ally.
Weaknesses (Both physical and personality. Not knowing how to do something that is outside of your class is not a weakness. IE not knowing how to use bows and magic, if you are a swordsman.): Ultan bluntness (is that a word?) can be his downfall sometimes, since he’ll say things without thinking about them much. He will resort to dishonest measures quickly if he can’t see an honest one right way. He also distrusts the Church, which may be good sometimes, but he refuses to do anything that will help the Church or any of its members, even if the members involved never did anything wrong. While he is trusting and loyal to friends, he doesn’t trust people easily, making it hard to get there.
Does your character have any connections to currently-existing characters or characters yet to be accepted? If so, which? (See “Character Linking Aid”. Please post a link to the topic.): Aura Boras (Lupas): http://aneria.enjin....aura-boras-lupa
In-Character-Responses (ICRs. For each scenario, write at least a paragraph describing entirely in-character how your character would respond to the situation.Your ICRs will be used to see how well you can RP. Please post them as if in IC chat. An example can be found after this form.)
Walking down the streets of the Capitol, you encounter a pair of heavily armed and armoured men harassing a young girl.
Walking along the street in a, let’s say “not exactly wealthy” area, Ultan encounters two guards harassing a young girl who couldn’t have been more than 14. He yells from where he first sees them: “Hey! Don’t you thugs have more important things to be doin’ than goin’ after that lass? She doesn’t want anythin’ to do with you! Are you too blind t’see it, or too dumb t’care?” The guards didn’t seem to like that so much, so they ran after Ultan yelling obscenities and drawing their swords. Ultan led them into the mazelike slums, drawing them away from the poor girl, and lost them somewhere in there.
A man approaches you with a proposition - Go to Bloodstone and retrieve something for him, and you will be well rewarded.
Out of breath after a chase with two guards, Ultan sits down on a bench when a well-dressed man walks up to him. The man says, “Hey, you look like a capable young man. Would you mind doing me a favor?” Ultan is somewhat confused, wondering what this rich man is doing in the slums and why he is asking someone as visibly tired as he is to do this job. However, he needs the money, so he replies, “What kind of favor?” “Well, you see, there are rumors that there’s a chest, deep inside Bloodstone Island, that contains mountains of gold, and jewels! If you get that for me, then I will sell it and give you half of the profit. You would be a rich man!” Ultan, replies with a harsh, “No.” The man looks surprised, but quickly composes himself and says, “Why would a man as smart as you seem turn down an offer like that? You could leave this rotten part of town for good!” Ultan says back to him, “You could too.” The rich man, offended, leaves, quickly finding another unfortunate soul to talk to.
You pass an old man lying on the side of the street, begging for food.
Ultan is walking down the street one night, thinking about a strange man, when he almost trips on a beggar. He almost swears at the man, but then sees that the old man can barely lift his hand, he is so weak from hunger. The beggar manages to rasp out “P-please…” Ultan looks around, sees that the street is empty, and crosses it to a bakery that is about to close for the day. He walks in when the owner goes into another room, and quickly slips a loaf of bread into his shirt and leaves, returning to the old man. Ultan hands the bread to him, saying, “This should last you a few days, if you eat it slowly.” The beggar can’t reply, because his mouth is too full, but Ultan doesn’t mind.
In a tavern, a slightly inebriated fellow insults your mother.
Ultan walks into a bar late one night, after everyone still inside has finished more than a few mugs of beer. One rank-smelling man manages to shuffle over to him and put his arm on Ultan’s shoulder to stay upright. The drunk leans toward Ultan, giving him a funny look and saying, “Y’know, Ah thin’ Ah shaw y’mudder once. Y’looksh lak her, kinda. She’sh dumb as uh brickknob.” Ultan puts his arm on the drunk man, and says, “Yeah, but yours smells like a pig rolling around in it’s own crap, Ander, and it’s been passed on to you.” Ultan smiles at his intoxicated friend, “You should prob-” Ultan’s next words were cut off as another drunk man walks over and clumsily punches Ander in the jaw, knocking him down and leaving him confused. Ultan quickly responds with a more coordinated punch of his own, knocking the drunk into the wall. He grabs the man by the shirt and shoves him out of the bar. He offers a hand to Ander. “You all right?” he asks. “Could b’better, maybe a beer could fix it…” Ander replies. Ultan sighs at his drunken friend, and finishes the sentence he started, “You should go home, Ander. You’ve had more'n your fill of drink tonight.” Ander sighs, and says, “Yeah, yer prob’ly right. Ah’ll see ya later, Ult’n.” “You too, Ander.” He slaps Ander on the back as he stumbles out of the bar.
You take a liking to a beautiful necklace a passing woman wears.
Inside a bar one night, Ultan is sitting on a stool when he notices a woman with a necklace of gold, with an emerald pendant. He considers trying to take it and sell it at that pawn shop down the road, but abandons the idea quickly. It’s much too crowded in the bar to take it unseen, and she looks sober enough to notice him if he tried to. But, he could use the money…Nah, Ultan thinks, I need to stay outta jail more’n I need money. Ultan looks back at the mug, noticing that he can see the bottom, and wondering when it got so empty.
Do you have any questions about the server or our lore?: No
Other notes: I didn’t change the strengths/weaknesses much because I felt it would be better to explain them, rather than just leave it poorly done like last time, and because those characteristics were important to his character, while adding loyalty and trust to both sides. I changed the second and fifth ICRs slightly to show Ultan more or add detail, and almost completely redid the fourth to show his loyalty.
Carl97,
that was a much better app this time around. Sometimes I think apps don't entirely capture how the player would RP, or if they would RP well. ICRs for example. Things happen way more randomly in game, because another player controls the other side, making it hard to guess what they may say, which means more improv, which usually means interesting RP.
All that aside, I liked your app and think you'll fit in just fine here. Welcome to the server! I'll go pencil ya in now.
Do you have a Skype? If so, what is your Skype Name? (This is by no means required and holds no weight on your acceptance. We just use Skype a lot): Yes. Zekermei.
Have you read all of the rules, agree to abide by them, and by the decisions of our staff?: Yes I have. I agree to all the rules laid before me.
What is the definition of “Powergaming”?: To force RP with someone else (for example, "Punch [Character name] in the jaw, without any previous actions taking place)
What is the definition of “Metagaming”?: To use OOC knowledge in RP situations (for example, say you learn [Character Name] is planning on killing the Master of Coin in the shoutbox on the website or something, and then blurt it out in a RP situation)
What is the definition of “Roleplay”?: To act and/or speak as a character that is not yourself (because being roleplaying as yourself could be boring in some situations) in various situations.
Who can use flymod, X-ray and other such clientsided mods?: No one is able to use and hacks or mods (Certain mods may be allowed with permission) (Staff probably could use these things if they wanted to for obvious reasons *cough* they're staff)
When are you allowed to cause the death of another character?: When the player playing as that character either agrees to it, or they decide to let their character die of their own free will.
When are you allowed to speak out of character?: When you use parentheses (like this), or use the OOC chat.
Have you read the primary server lore of our server and agree to roleplay in accordance with it?: Yes I have. It took a good while, but I read most if not all of it. I do agree to roleplay within the lore.
Who is allowed to use magic?: People who attend the Academy and get a Magery Degree may use magic.
Who are the Fallen?: The Fallen, also know as the Medori, are people of the Fallen Islands, which are separated from the rest of the human species.
When and how did our current government come to be?: Medori - When Cizar Aiden is chased away for being cruel and ruling with an iron first in 124 AR, Pryderi comes forth as the new ruler and establishes a new, more peaceful government.
Linyera - When the Linyera family is chased away and killed in 167 AR, a new government is formed, know as the Order of Aradin.
Who are the Order of Aradin?: The Order of Aradin is pretty much the shattered remains of of Linyera. The Order of Aradin consists of the Chancellor, who is the equivalent of the King, and 3 Masters. The Master of Coin, the Master of Blades, and the Master of Words
What previous roleplay experience have you had, if any?: It's somewhat obvious what other experience i've had, but i've played on two other RP servers since the closing of the Shrines (both of which didn't last long after opening, but both of which the staff and whitelisters praised me on my excellent applications)
If you have played on other RP servers, please say which and why you left: Shrines of the Ancients, Avitus : The Unwritten Chapter, 2 or 3 other servers whose names i've forgotten.
Character Information
Name: Jav'nel Spellhorn
Age: 28
Class: Bladesman
Physical description: Tall, bulky, but somewhat small compared to the rest of his friends and crewmen
Screen capture of your skin: Currently working on this.
Biography (Minimum 400 words. Cannot include loved ones being killed, kidnapped, tortured, or the like, unless you can do it in a non-cliche manner.):
The ship had been sitting there for some time now, it's crew still working fast to finish cleaning up and such. The ships captain, Slagror, looked out over the ship and let out a heavy sigh. They had been out on a raiding trip for the past few months, taking the other islands treasures, but most of the closer ones had been picked clean; all ores, all livestock, all god damned plants and herbs had been taken by others. Slagror realized he would have to cut costs somehow. Most logically, his first thing to cut back on would be his coffee budget. He let out another heavy sigh. He would miss it's rich aroma in the morning. The next thing to do to cut costs would probably be the hardest, but he had little choice.
"Jav'nel! Quartermaster Jav'nel! Get over here, you idiot!" Slagror yelled over the deck. But there was no response. Only silence and the sound of his crew working. Slagror's eyebrows creased and a look of disgust spread over his face. Where was that *******? Probably sped off the boat onto the mainland right when they got there. Hell, he thought, he probably jumped off the boat onto the island. Slagror walked towards land, his crew looking down while he past. Best not to bother the captain when he's angry, they knew.
Slagror check all of Jav'nel's usual places. The local tavern, a pile of rocks that he liked to nap next to, or occasionally, on top of. He checked Jav'nel's home, the gambling grounds, the marketplace. But he was no where to be found. Finally, there was one place Slagror knew he might find Jav'nel, and all anger drained from him.
He got to the cemetery 10 minutes later. There were gravestones as far as the eye could see, most of them damaged by weather and other natural circumstances. Slagror looked around, but knew that Jav'nel probably wouldn't be in eyesight. He spent a few more minutes walking to the gravestone where Jav'nel would be, and sure enough, there he was.
"Jav'nel. You should have told me you were coming here before you left." Slagror said calmly.
"I realize that. Do whatever you want to, but you know how much this place means to me. It kills me not being able to come here every other day." Jav'nel said, a calm, yet empty tone to his voice.
What came next did not surprise Jav'nel. He knew how bad this last trip was. And he knew Slagror had to cut costs somehow.
"Quartermaster Jav'nel," Slagror started, a sad tone obvious in his voice, "it is with great regret, that I must let you go. Please return your double-blade belt and your Darkwind Flag by no later than tomorrow morning."
Jav'nel, still staring at the gravestone in front of him, simply nodded, and Slagror, tears obvious in his eyes, simply nodded back and turned away, and walked towards the entrance of the cemetery. Jav'nel sat down, legs crossed, simply starring as the footsteps of his former captain and his friend, become silent. Then he burst into tears. For not only had he lost his job, his adventures, and his friend, but he had lost his love as well. For the gravestone he was starring at was broken and defiled, her grave dug up, and her body missing. Jav'nel sat there for the next couple hours, crying his massive pirate heart out. He looked up, and noticed that the sun was beginning to set. He wondered how much time he had spent next to this open grave. Jav'nel sniffled, wiped his eyes with his sleeve, and then started walking home. On the way there, he started to shudder again with tears welling in his eyes as he remembered the words on the grave before it was destroyed. Cassandra Spellhorn, 258 AR - 281 AR, Let your wings spread wide, and your imagination sore, my dearly beloved, Jav'nel.
What is your character’s main goal? (Motivation): After being fired, Jav'nel will probably be looking for new employers. Most obviously he shall be looking for work on an airship.
Strengths (Both physical and personality): Very strong, skilled with swords and axes, knows how to take a joke, not willing to back down from a fight.
Weaknesses (Both physical and personality. Not knowing how to do something that is outside of your class is not a weakness. IE not knowing how to use bows and magic, if you are a swordsman.): Is short compared to a lot of his friends, does not like certain, if not all, fruits and vegetables, can't stand people who beat around the bush, will dislike others if they dislike them.
Does your character have any connections to currently-existing characters or characters yet to be accepted? If so, which? (See “Character Linking Aid”. Please post a link to the topic.): My character currently has no ties with any other characters.
Jav'nel walks down the street of the Capitol which his home is on. It seems a bit too quiet, but nothing out of the ordinary. That was the exact reason why he liked this street. He let out a sigh and smiled to himself. But the silence was shattered with a high pitched scream. Jav'nel looked out in front of him and saw two big men with chainmail armour and two heavy axes. The girl let out another scream, which was cut short by Jav'nel himself. "Oi! What do you two think you're doing to that poor girl?!" he yelled out to them, pulling out the long but thin sword at his side, walking towards them. The two men, quite larger then Jav'nel, exchanged looks and ran away, possibly intimidated by how Jav'nel held himself, which anyone with a good eye knew is exactly how a good swordsman would hold himself. Jav'nel looked at them with disgust and turned towards the little girl who was now in front of him. She could have been no less than 10. Maybe 11. "Are you alright?" Jav'nel asked with a surprised tone in his voice. "I'm fine" the girl replied shyly. "Where are your parents?" Jav'nel asked, and which the girl replied "Back at my home. They told me I could go out and play, but I guess I might've wandered off too far and ended up in the wrong part of town." Jav'nel took an emotional blow to the chest as the little girl referred to the street his home resided on as "the wrong part of town.", but he took it with a smile. "How 'bout we get you home, hm?" he asked the kid. She nodded once, and they started walking.
A man approaches you with a proposition - Go to Bloodstone and retrieve something for him, and you will be well rewarded.
There was a knock on Jav'nels door. Who could be here this late at night, he wondered. He took his small luxstone that he found on a trip a few years ago and went downstairs towards the door. When he opened it, to his surprise, was a small man in a black cloak. "May I help you?" Jav'nel asked in a tone that wasn't too friendly, making a note to himself to speak more nicely his next sentence. "I heard you would be willing to do any job, for the right price." the man croaked from beneath the hood of his cloak. Jav'nel registered that the man had to be elderly, by the sound of his voice. "Depends on the reward, and what the task is." he replied. Jav'nel could feel a hint of a smile coming from the man under the cloak. "Oh, nothing too hard, you just have to go somewhere and fetch something for me. Doesn't sound too difficult, does it?". Jav'nel felt a little uneasy by the mans presence here. Something was... off, about him. "Well, where's this 'somewhere', exactly?" Jav'nel asked, although he knew he wasn't going to like the answer. "Oh, you know, just.. Bloodstone..." the old man replied. Jav'nel almost slammed the door shut at the name, and the man noticed the look of disgust in Jav'nels eyes. "Trust me, the reward will be well wroth it." the man said. "How much?" Jav'nel asked. "How's 10k sound to you?" the man said with a smile, noticing Jav'nels eyes light up at the amount mentioned. Jav'nel stood in the doorway, pondering the idea. "... can you give me a couple days to think about it?" he asked, and which it was this black cloaked mans turn for his eyes to light up "Of course, i'll swing by in two days at this exact time for your answer, see you then!", and like that, the man seemed to fade away into the night. Jav'nel, closing the door, thought to himself. He was going to need to do a lot of preparations for this one. But most importantly, he was going to need a crew.
You pass an old man lying on the side of the street, begging for food.
"No way, I need this! My daughters in bed sick, and she specifically wanted this!" he hears a voice crying from ahead. Jav'nel sees the scene of a woman being bothered by an elderly man in rags, the woman holding a pot with steam coming off of it. The man, on the ground, croaks the simple word of "Please", which could barely be heard. "No, screw off!" the woman yells as she proceeds to kick the man in the chest. "Hey! What the heck do you think you're doing woman?" Jav'nel yells, running towards the two figures. The woman, obviously scared by Jav'nel, ran away from the scene, the pot still steaming in her hands. Jav'nel comes up to the man and bends down; "Are you alright?" He asks, but the man simply replies with "food... dying..." It seems that the man is dying from hunger, and cares more about that than the simple injury to his chest. Jav'nel looks down at the man and tells him to wait here. Jav'nel then runs back to his house, 10 minutes away. He grabs what he can, some dried meat here, a roll of bread there, and puts it in a container. He runs back to the man, who's still holding his chest and muttering "dying". "Here, eat this" Jav'nel tells the man. The man looks up slowly and then looks at the food in Jav'nels hand, then to Jav'nel himself, a glint of hope in his eyes. The man nods his appreciation, and quickly grabs the container with the food in it, quickly eating it, yet savoring it at the same time. Jav'nel smiles and nods towards the man. "Keep the container" Jav'nel says as he walks away, and behind him he hears a muffled "Thank you!" behind a mouthful of food. Despite what people may think of me, Jav'nel thought, my heart isn't made of stone.
In a tavern, a slightly inebriated fellow insults your mother. !! WARNING !! Mild cursing
Jav'nel delivers a swift blow to the mans face. Up until that point, he had put up with his shenanigans, but tonight, Jav'nel just couldn't take it anymore. For the past few nights, this guy has been coming in here, getting smashed, and then insulting everyone who came in. Jav'nel had been lucky enough to avoid him the night before and last night, but tonight, here he is, sitting right next to Jav'nel, and the first thing he says is some slurs about Jav'nel's mother. I'm not putting up with this crap, he thought to himself. He got up, looked at the man straight in his eyes, and delivered a blow straight to the mans jaw in three seconds flat. That's enough out of you. Suddenly, the tavern owner came out, and to his shock, his best customer just knocked out a guy who had been doing good business here. "Jav'nel! What's gotten into you?!" he asked. "This mans been a pain in the ass for the past few nights here, Horace, and it's really starting to get on everyone nerves. Especially mine, seeing as how he just insulted my mum!" Horace just looked at the scene for a few more seconds, thinking of what to do next. On one hand, Jav'nel was a loyal customer, who's spent as much time here as two or three of his old raiding trips would have taken. On the other, this man who Jav'nel just knocked out cold had been spending money here like it was raining gems and jewels outside. This would be quite the situation, he knew, but Horace handled it perfectly. "Alright, that's enough out of you two. Both of you get out of here for the night. And I don't want to see you" Horace said pointing to Jav'nel, "in one of your ridiculous disguises." Jav'nel simply nodded and pulled the man he just punched outside. He then proceeded to walk home, muttering to himself about how he would probably need to stop at the local marketplace to grab some ale. And maybe a good book or two.
You take a liking to a beautiful necklace a passing woman wears.
Jav'nel compliments her on her beautiful necklace and then continues on his way. (I seriously can't think of anything for this ICR situation. Sorry.)
Do you have any questions about the server or our lore?
Nope. I'm good.
Other notes:
I would just like to apologize to whoever had to read and review my app. I realize it's QUITE lengthy, and for that, I am truly sorry.

Biography:
Kayla never knew who her real parents were, as she was left in the unknown only a few months after she was born. She was found by a group of bandits that weren't known very well. The group of bandits decided they would take in the child and force Kayla into child labor. One of the female slaves that was with the group was commanded to take care of the small child. As time moved forward, Kayla grew. Kayla gave herself the name she has now. She thought the environment she lived in was normal, thus she didn't complain much. Soon, she noticed that children younger then her were being brought into the bandit's group. The work Kayla was forced to do was hard; she had to learn how to use a pickaxe, which was much heavy for her so she used a simple wood one, and how to set up the tents.
Kayla became fond of one child that shared work with her; Lucas. Lucas was the second oldest child at the camp. Kayla being first. Lucas was kidnapped and taken to the camp. He had been at the camp for 2 years already, although Kayla had stayed there since she was only a few months old. Lucas had lived in the normal world before and the two would often sneak to each other's tents to speak, as they were whipped if they were to speak to one another during work. Lucas told her about the normal world and his favorite goggles that his father gave to him before he was taken. Kayla was always curious, always wanting to explore.
Kayla had also become fond in her caretaker; Sandy. Being raised by Sandy, the two formed a mother-daughterly relationship. Sandy had been the previous bandit leader's daughter, but her father was killed and she was taken as a slave. Sandy knew about Lucas, and was glad that Kayla had someone to communicate to.
The conditions weren't too poor, for if a child were to be worn out or hungry, the bandits would feed them or let them rest in order to keep populations high in the camp. Kayla never took this as a sign of kindness. After learning that these conditions weren't normal, she despised the bandits. As time went on, Kayla grew. As did everyone else. At the age of ten, Sandy had suddenly one day disappeared. Kayla searched desperately everywhere for her. She was stopped by a bandit and soon found out that Sandy had tried to escape and was killed in the process.
Kayla's hate for the bandits grew each day. The conditions at the camp became horrid. They did not keep the children fed nor clean. Children were dying from lack of sleep. The bandits became more ruthless and brutal. The bandits would never hesitate to hit a child, or even kill a child. Luckily, Kayla knew that she would need to be careful in order to survive. Secretly, starting at the age of eleven, Kayla, as the oldest, began a rebellion against the bandits. She spoke to each child in secret. Almost every child agree'd, including Lucas.
Before the day of the escape, Lucas gave Kayla his goggles. "Take this. If anything happens to me, at least you'll have something to remember me." He had said to her with a smile. Kayla frowned, but accepted them. Kayla turned twelve on the day of the escape; being born half blind gave her a disadvantage. The children kept close small weapons which were crafted by Kayla and other children from mere rock. The weapons were in poor condition, though.
At last, the day of the escape came. Groups of children moved out; the vow they had made glued in the back of their heads. 'For those that don't make it, your dream shall live on within those that do. It shall be fulfilled.' Kayla's group consisted of Lucas and a small 8 year old female. The three moved out as soon as the other groups did so too. Moving stealthily through the forest, Kayla's group suddenly heard a scream, then another. Kayla realized a scream had come from behind her.
Hearing Lucas nearly puke, Kayla didn't dare look back. The noise of grown men coming towards them was heard; Kayla grabbed Lucas's hand, pulling him along as they ran. Lucas suddenly collapsed; an arrow stuck in his back. Kayla began to scream as she ran through the forest, trying to take the horrifying image out of her head.
Kayla made it out finally. She was exhausted and hungry. She didn't know if others made it out, but it didn't matter to her right now. She would live on, and as would the other children's dreams. (To be continued~~ Through roleplay first!)
What is your character’s main goal?: To live and fulfill the other children's dreams.
Strengths: She knows how to make a small simple stone dagger and appears weak but is rather strong for her age. If one shows kindness to her, she'll show kindness back. Kayla can get rather attached to one person.
Weaknesses: Kayla was born blind through her left eye. She seems to act cold to everyone around her and tends to give the evil eye, when really, it's just her way of hiding. She has several scars on her back from whips and has a long scar going down her arm from an accident in the mines.
Does your character have any connections to currently-existing characters or characters yet to be accepted? If so, which? (See “Character Linking Aid”. Please post a link to the topic.): Nope!
In-Character-Responses (Sorry, didn't realize I had to write them as IC chat... ._.)
Walking down the streets of the Capitol, you encounter a pair of heavily armed and armoured men harassing a young girl.
Kayla looks at the girl, debating on whether or not she should help. The young girl sees Kayla and tries to call out to her. The men looked back, a grin forming on their faces. "Hey kid! Come over here." One of the men ordered. Kayla stared at him, wondering how much more idiotic he could get. "I'm not stupid enough to go over there, idiots." Kayla says with a grin, an idea popping into her head. "Why you little..." The other man said. "Hope y' know, if I scream right now, the guards just around the corner will come over here..." Kayla states, knowing there aren't any guards around the corner. The men look at each other and nod, glumly walking past Kayla. As Kayla walks away, she winks at the little girl.
A man approaches you with a proposition - Go to Bloodstone and retrieve something for him, and you will be well rewarded.
Kayla looks at the man, giving him a strange look. "No thank you sir, I don't do jobs for random people." Kayla turns and walks away.
You pass an old man lying on the side of the street, begging for food.
Kayla looks at the old man, knowing that she herself is in no condition to be handing out food. She glares at the old man, a sudden hate swelling up inside her. "You... You actually had a chance to have freedom... Yet you used your freedom like this..." Kayla states, walking up to the old man. Kayla turns away, not bothering to give the old man any food.
In a tavern, a slightly inebriated fellow insults your mother. (Not sure why my character would be in a tavern, but I'll do it as if she were older.)
Kayla chuckles, putting down her drink. "I'll let y' know... I never knew my mother! So insult her all you want." The man looks at Kayla, laughing. "I'll bet ya' motha' left ye' when ye' were just a youngin'! I mean, look at how damn ugly ye' ar'!" Kayla says nothing, knowing she doesn't want any business with this man. How she looks means nothing. Survival and freedom is all she needs. Kayla adjust her goggles before leaving the tavern.
You take a liking to a beautiful necklace a passing woman wears.
Kayla takes a slight glance before continuing on; she has no interest in beauty. Such things wouldn't help fulfilling dreams.

Walking down the streets of the Capitol, you encounter a pair of heavily armed and armoured men harassing a young girl.
*Ellard notices two men harrasing a young girl, he sees the girl is nothing more but a child and immideatly reacts* "Leave my grand-daughter alone!" *Ellard attracts the attention of the men to himself* "Aren't ya lads dont see this girl is young for this stuff, dont you have wives and kids home? I would be ashamed if i was you, ya better leave 'er fast or else you're going to have some problems with the capitol guard, *Lie* I may look old but i have the legs and heart of a lion, i could easily outrun you both without any sweat, you'll be in the prison in the matter of seconds if you dont leave the girl alone" *while Ellard was talking the girl took the opportunity of the men being distracted and ran away as far as she could* "Now go away from here, i dont want to see yer spoiled faces again anytime soon. *Ellard proceeds to walk confidently in between thoese guys as the guys look at him with confused faces*
A man approaches you with a proposition - Go to Bloodstone and retrieve something for him, and you will be well rewarded.
*Ellard stops after seeing a man approaching him, he turns to the man with his arms crossed behind his back* "Hmm?" *After listening to what the man had to say to him Ellard responses with:* "Well excuse me young lad. Ya see, i barely heard half of ye'r sentence but i am assuming you want me to go somewhere and do something, well if you would look at me closer, im to old for thoese kind o' stuff, and if i did go there the time it would take the old man to get there wouldnt probably be worth it ya see? you should look for a younger guy, a one who can do the work more properly, Now please excuse me, i have to get to the library, i have important matter to be done"

Whilst walking, Ellard notices a starving beggar laying on the street. *slowly turns to the man whilst holding his arms behind his back* *Ellard gets a condoling feeling for the man and feels sorry for the poor guy, Ellard quickly takes his right arm and shoves it into his pocket, after a while of searching he gets 13 coins, slowly ducks and hands them to the beggar* "ye'r should find a place to sleep mate, it's not very comfy on the streets,ya? here, take those coins, grab some food and buy a room, ya still got a lot ahead of you, dont give up on yer life mate!" *Ellard escorts the man to a local tavern, makes sure he gets a room and food, and than kindly leaves without waiting for the man to thank him*
In a tavern, a slightly inebriated fellow insults your mother.
*Raises his big white eyebrown towards the brat* "Tell me kid, how old are ya, aint you to mature for thoese kind of insults? I forgive you yes, but other people might have not, so be carefull pal" *points at the most muscular, evil looking guy in the pub* "you should be more carefull with yer mouth pal!" *gives a coin to the guy* "Here! have a drink on me!" *slightly smiles at the guy* and Ellard would carry on with his doings.

Zekermei - Good app, but I'm afraid your "Orders of Aradin" question is grossly incorrect. Like, incredibly wrong. Also, training in magic is not called a "Magery Degree." Just reread the lore, and trust me, we will know if you don't as soon as you're in-game. As long as you also never refer to magic training as a Magery Degree, I'm sure you'll have a grand time here.
Tiffosaur - A bit disjointed, but I look forward to seeing where you take this character.
Yhitazzz/Arrrgasm (Nice name.. )- There were mutliple things wrong with your app. Let's take a look at them, shall we?
- There were many grammar and spelling errors. You often had commas where you should have had periods, which made your app very frustrating and difficult to read. If English is not your first language, we understand. Please understand, that you will have to be able to speak it well enough to keep up in order to avoid frustration and confusion.
- Your skin seems.. Inappropriate for your character.. Looks a little.. Dwarf-y. Maybe give him a shirt or find a more fitting one for an old man. There are folk on our forums (http://aneria.enjin.com/) that may be able to create you a skin if you ask nicely. Please don't do this until/if you've been accepted, however.
- Your app includes quite a bit of magic.. There are quite a few problems with this. Your character is not a mage. Your character was not given permission to start out as a mage. And lastly, your magic may (Most likely will) clash with our magic-lore. Please change this. If you wish for your character to become a mage of sorts, you may include in your app that he is planning on attending the Academy.
- Lastly, your character seemed rather bland - Not a whole lot of personality. Flesh him out more. The ICRs could be a bit better aswell.
Wheatly. You may want to reread the lore yourself.
The Academy: The Academy offers three degrees: A general "Primary" degree, a "Magery" degree, and an "Alchemy" degree. The latter two require the first, and are known as "Secondary" degrees. The Primary degree covers such topics as world history and literature, and is attained by most individuals wishing to be considered the least bit intellectual. A third Secondary Degree is offered by the Church - The Theology Degree - which is required to become a Priest. A single character can only ever participate in a single Secondary Degree. At the start of a Magery or Theology Degree, the player's class changes to Mage or Priest respectively. At the end of an Alchemy Degree, their class changes to Alchemist. Players cannot begin with their character already enrolled at the Academy - They must seek entrance in-game.
Magery: Magic, also known as "The Art" is an ancient practice dating back to as early as Tilaria the Wise, second monarch of the Linyera Kingdom. Magic has since become more formalized and regimented with the advent of the Academy. Magic is a complicated process, requiring the use of a specialized Implement and a disciplined mindset to tap into the second plane, Chordus, to call forth Mana to be shaped into desired spells. Mages spend many long years mastering the Art and honing their skills. No players may begin play knowing magic - They must attend the Academy and gain a Magery Degree, after first completing a Primary degree. Be warned that such a path is not for the lazy. There will be much reading, and many tests. If you're on the Villain's Blacklist, you may not learn magic with any character.
And, looking back at it, yes, I seemed to have gotten Chancellery mixed up with the Order of Aridian

Forgot to mention, I had some questions. D: Don't forget to look at them.

Please do try and apply again! Good luck!
Well, thanks for reviewing my app, here are some responses about what you claim is wrong.
-My Grammar, well, the typing errors with the commas and dots are probably because of my furious typing, i type to fast sometimes and often use commas instead of dots and vice versa, i do have great english if i may say so myself altough it's not my mother language so i think ill be fine when RPing.
-The Skin, if you can understand, i am absolutely INLOVE with this skin and created a part of my bio around it, i'll be really dissapointed if i was forced to give up this skin so im asking you nicely to allow me to keep it. i will however give him a shirt and post the new link
EDIT: i did a Slight change and just added a shirt to my skin so it woul be mor appropriate, everything else remains the same.
-My character, i agree my ICR is a bit bad, that is probably because i got tired of all the writing before and i understand this is my bad, i will edit my previous post to make my ICR better cause it seems that posting the application all over again is spamming. Now about my character, it is supposed to be a bit mysterious, not much personality should come from an old man anyways, i did however mentioned that he is a serious and straight-to-the point guy, i also mentione he's curious an likes to read books, i dont suppose i need to write the stuff he likes to eat and etc. cause i dont think thoese stuff are really that necessery, i gave you his basic personality without making him to un-mysterious, i hope you understand it.
-The magic, as i mentioned in my bio, Ellard WAS using magic, BUT, he was caught in the time vortex therefore losing his memory, that means he also probably forgot how to use spells and how to mess with magic, i mentioned it in my bio on purpose to avoid my character being linked to magic from the beggining of my play.
Notes: I will edit my last post cause i find it easier for both of us, and also,
you might have not seen my question about the book writing so ill write it here.
I'm going to really focus my character around book reading and esspecialy book writing (Book & Quill) is there a way for me to start or LEARN that ability as i play, and if so, which class fits it the most?
Also, my friend will be applying soon trough my old account Oric8520, so he might aswell mention something about me in the character linking.i invited him to play cause i remember how awesome the server was.
EDIT: all the things i mentioned i will change are now done, so you can go ahead and take your time and check my corrections
Carl97, I would like you to try again with this app. There are just a couple of small things you could fix;
Watch some Pirates of the Caribbean! That'll totally get you ready!
longer is always a start, but just think of a way to make his action's less generic.

Nope. I'm good.

I would just like to apologize to whoever had to read and review my app. I realize it's QUITE lengthy, and for that, I am truly sorry.

I'm a man of few words and many voices.
Please do try and apply again! Good luck!
I'm a man of few words and many voices.
And to clear things up, in a more casual way, the Order of Aradin is sort of like the police force in a town, right?
Personal police of the Chancellor and his peeps. Personal protection.
Forgot to mention, I had some questions. D: Don't forget to look at them.
I'm a man of few words and many voices.
