Participate in a Rich History
Isan has it's own history formed by the actions of it's players. Will your name resound in the history books, or will your settlements crumble into dust, forgotten by those yet to come?
Play in a rich RP environment
This is an RP heavy server, with In Character chat mandated in the correct channels, non-RP chat is required to join a different channel. The gods, both Thorodan the Creator and Seryn the Protector, are both alive and active, making your beliefs more than a matter of personal preference!
Experience a Unique World!
Isan has many secrets for those who wish to explore them. While civilizations start out in the stone age, the land holds many remnants of civilizations gone past, with artifacts and ancient mage-homes dotting the land, begging to be found.
Differences from Standard Minecraft- Important
~Technology levels are very primitive for these adventurous colonists. The earth in these lands is especially harsh from the devastation the gods have wreaked on it, and so very little of it can be mined easily. Rumors abound of great veins of quality material just waiting to be tapped by enterprising souls. Most minerals in the earth (Stone, Iron, Diamond, Redstone, etc.) crumble into dirt if mined without the proper tools or in a quarry. Outside of a quarry, wood and stone mine coal, lapis and gold, iron can mine stone and emerald, and diamond can mine anything but diamond. More on quarries in a bit!
~ If you actually read the above write 23fp25 as well as your IGN in a reply to acknowledge you read the server outline, it's important and staff will no longer be answering "Why can't I mine stone" you will be told to read the forum post.
~ Magic exists, and can be used by all those who find the remnants of the ancient mages! Mage Houses and Temples are spread across the land, with spells ripe for the taking by those who believe themselves worthy.
The Age System and Quarries
World of The Gods utilizes an Age system based on the structures you build and what you research, the Tech Tree/Research Tree will be posted below.
When you research the next age you will receive a Quarry for the appropriate resource, this will allow you to utilize your new-found knowledge to successfully mine the resource without it crumbling into dirt. Quarries only refill once a month so don't waste the precious resources you worked so hard to acquire!
Quarries may be found across the world in various locations. If, while exploring, you find a sign with a password on it along with a message to “PM Jake”, then you've just found a quarry! This quarry will only refill monthly if your town has researched the appropriate age to renew it.
The Town War System
Towns have the ability to fight with each other not only for its resources but also for the town itself. The rules of the battle will be discussed with the leaders of the towns under a watchful eye of the administrators. In every battle the defender will have a significant advantage over the offender.
Upon death players will be sent to the graveyard where they will have to wait for the battle to end.
Cannons are allowed in a controlled environment. You will get a limited amount of ammo.
Towns will get a defense bonus if they have stone walls instead of wooden/dirt walls.
Random events do happen. Sometimes, dams break, badly constructed houses crumble, unreinforced mines cave in. Do your best to avoid these issues by building structures that at least look vaguely plausible!
Ancient Relics exist from times long gone- A number of magical items exist in the world, waiting for a worthy owner. They are hidden in chests along with books detailing their exploits in days long gone.
1, Do not Grief Mage houses(These are where you get spells.) 2, No hacks/cheats/exploits including X-Ray 3, Mini map mods without entity tracking are allowed. 4, Try to be mature. 5, It's ok to be a 'Pillager' or 'Bandit' but please don't be a total **** 6, Wilderness PvP is ALLOWED.

It all began with a giant outburst that created matter, time and something else.. something powerfull: Gods, giant clouds of power that have the abiltiy to bind themselves with a planet. The first God was Thorodan, the most powerfull God in the universe. He choose the fourth planet of the Pevor system named Isan, it was a planet of sheer beauty, nature took over the entire planet and soon in it's great seas, life began forming. It started with something small but after millions of years the creatures started to evolve, they began to think and soon humans were created. Lord Thorodan was intreged by these small beeings, they hadt the potential to think and react just like him. The humans soon worshipped Thorodan as their God and made temples and gaint empires for him. Thorodan was pleased by all these gifts and he aided the humans in their struggle to survive. Thorodan soon fell in love with a human women named Aelicia. She gave birth to many sons, one of them was Seryn. Seryn was wise and always acted with reason to certain situations, he soon became leader of the humans at the age of 20. After years the humans began rioting against Thorodan, they thought they could be their own Gods, that they were powerfull enof to kill Thorodan. They killed his wife Aelicia not knowing that by doing that they unleashed the mad power of Thorodan. Thorodan destroyed the gaint empires and murdered all the humans on the planet. Seryn managed to protect a small group of humans and fought Thorodan. A Demi-God fighting his own father.. The epic battle waged for thousands of years and it hasn't stopped since. Now, once again. The humans have spread and they are stuck right inbetween this clash of these gaints. They create small settlements and pray for the God they believe in, either bring back the power of the mighty Thorodan or live in a new era under a new God in a world of reason and justice.
The first settlements such as Blackwood were created, in a time of peace. The people of blackwood trade with other settlements and soon became the mightiest of towns.
New powerfull towns rise, Stormwind and Silverwater. Stormwind became the richest and most populated town of the world and they soon began a empire named Lordoran led by Emperor Hakuza. While Blackwood and Silverwater became allies, the armies of Lordoran marched towards the settlement Blackwood, the defenders stood no chance and were overrun by the armies of Lordoran. Hakuza claimed Blackwood and it was now Lordoran territory. The refugees of Blackwood fled to their ally, Silverwater and there a new nation was born Kibethia led by Azrial. Meanwhile a new age started 'the stone age', quarries were found and new settlements were created on top of them, Stone Vale a settlement under control of the Nation of Lordoran and Silverwater itself under control of Kibethia. Lordoran expanded and made another town 'Redstorm', Kibethia didt the same thing and created Khalidor. The armies of Lordoran marched again for the grand price, Silverwater. The defenders fought bravely but they were no match for the power of Lordoran. Now Kibethia has one safe haven left. The town of Khalidor, protected by large walls.
Altough for some small battles the world of Isan has been at peace for a while, the 2 great nations take advantage of this moment and they both florish like never before. Tough, dark times are upon us. The 2 great emperors have tragically lost their lives and left their nations crumbled and divided. These towns, abandonned by their allies have now become strongholds. Because they are uncertain about their future. In this dark new era there is a sparkle, new towns are beeing created and many of them are sticking together as a nation under a new emperor, the son of emperor Azrial!
The world of Isan was thrown into chaos. Thorodan was enraged by what the worshipers of Seryn had done to his cities. Thorodan showed his might. Volcanoes erupted all over Northern Isan, and only a few humans managed to escape his wrath. The humans journeyed southwards, in search for habitable lands. All the northern cities were destroyed - Storwind, Redstorm, StoneVale, Khalidor, Denerim and Virona Island all lost under the lava that covered the northern lands.
Then the humans arrived to a new habitable area, after crossing the Great Sea. Slowly two settlements were founded: Emeldi and Alexandria...
A long time has passed since the second rage of Thorodan. Many new towns have risen and have been in peace with eachother for over 100 years, but now there are tensions between the towns and it is only a matter of time when a new war comes upon us. One that could be the biggest one the world has ever seen. While towns in the empire of Alexandria use their furtile lands for giant farms the other towns prepare defences to be ready for when this war comes. In this time a new type of trading has begun, instead of trading from town to town per boat or any other vehicle, merchants have begun buying from the individual persons themselves to sell their goods with high profit to the one that needs it. These rich merchants are starting to join together and create settlements that with their wealth will grow out to become large cities.

Starters guide (Outdated) Ignore everything that's crossed out.
Alright so, I've been on this server for a while now. I'm a town and nation leader, of both the town "Solitude" and nation "Winter", so I guess I'm a bit experienced with how it goes. Constantly, I see new members come on in, asking questions, asking what to do, "why this stone turns to dirt when I mine it?". This stuff happens almost every day, and it's a bit tiring answering every question over and over. Jakes tired of it, and so am I, even as the nice guy I am. So, in hopes of making it less work for me, as well as the other leaders of the towns out there, I'm making this guide as to tell you guys what the hell you do when you start out. Join "Solitude", we're the best.
1. Joining the server.
So, you've read the forum post. (Hopefully) You have the secret(notreally) code, an IGN for the server, and the IP. Huzzah, you have minecraft updated, at the moment 1.3.2,1.4.6 and you understand a basic idea of the server rules. Feel free to reread the rules over and over, till you remember them by heart. The admin, Jake, makes rules up as he goes, so everything he says is . The only law in this server, is don't of Mondasin. He will Muggle the living daylight out of you. Also he has diamond.
On a serious note, you're gonna want to just be friendly, up to a point where you wanna cut your act. Being nice can let you infiltrate into a really diverse town with gullible unsuspecting people, that you just wanna kill, so just wait for your chance.
Spawning in the server, you are greeted with a warm sight. Wooden planks, glowstone, fires, and maybe even players. This is Port Royal, the servers spawn, where players repeatedly return to pay taxes on tuesdays to the gods or sell and buy materials in return for Florins, the server currency. The spawn isn't very large, but is still one of the most important factors of your experience in this server. Theres a signboard with additional info in the center, and please do not type /town spawn Port_Royal the moment you read the sign. You start off with 50 Florins, and warping to another spawn other than your own town will leave you with 40 Florins. Losing 10 Florins off the bat is RETARDED, and everyone seems to do it once. Don't be one of them. Bam, server was remade as a outpost in the middle of the woods. It's big, bigger than the last Port Royal we had, with working shops, a port, a jail, etc. Note that people will usually be coming and going around here since at the lower ages we are at the moment, theres not much we can do to satisfy our hunger for cooked food, and theres only one furnace in the entire outpost. But whatever, the outpost is near a port with ships representing leady powers on the server. It's also near a forest, so you can go out and find a place to build your new empire. Don't try to find too many houses/towns near spawn. People like their privacy. Which brings me to my next point. Towns.
The server is based on an age system, where towns are given ages based on findings, or research undertaken with gold. Towns typically start at Wood Age, and slowly build themselves up. After Wood is Stone, then Iron, then Diamond. Stone is acquired through the discovery of a Quarry. A quarry is an 8x8 surface to bedrock clump of Chisled Stone Blocks. This block is very easy to notice, however a quarry itself can be anywhere. Jake has placed quarries throughout the server, and it's up to townys to find them, and claim them in order to grow. Additional quarries may be placed depending on how big the server gets. Towns are created with your starting bank of 50 Florins. Prices may be subject to change. Towns may be placed almost anywhere, just not in other towns. I recommend making a town near a river, so that you can dam it off on two ends, and mine the gold that will spawn in there on Tuesdays, which is when most of the admin work is done. Too many towns have been put on Islands in the middle of nowhere, and people complain about why they cannot make a freshwater dam in the middle of an ocean. Take my advice, make a main town near a river, get yourself set up, and later you can make an outpost on some island out there. (NOTE: The gold-in-river system is not in use right now. So, feel free to build where you want. Just be sure that you can return to spawn for supplies every now and then, and building some faraway paradise will just make it hard for you to make a "road to spawn", which is a highly treasured piece of "technology" when looking into advancing through ages.)
Lets say, you want to skip all that jazz, and go straight into the game. You may join other existing towns, and grow alongside them. You may not join Fort Duck, or whatever it changes it's name to, however. You'll know why later in game. They have diamond.
4. Health system
This section is too important to just be mentioned on a side note, since everyone seems to ask it as well. Health does NOT regen outside of towns. So a helpful tip. Join a town, or find spells. If you want to freelance, you do so at the risk of NEVER getting health regen. Also you will most likely never have any resources past stone. Towns are good... Good. Freelancing is open. Go bandit some people.
Spells, here we go into the good stuff. Controlling the powers of Fire, Snow, Lightning, Flowers, Lilypads, all that. Mages long ago hid their spells in bookshelves throughout the land. These spells can be found ANYWHERE. Sorry to say, but you cannot ask for locations of spells, you must find them yourself. I would tell you guys the secret locations of amazing spells like Lightning, or Incinerate, or Invulnerability, but then I'd get banned. I will give you a hint though, a spell can usually be found in an area that relates to it's effect. For example, a spell called Incinerate, could be found in a Lava pool. Or Lilywalk, could be found in a swamp. Go nuts. Spells are used with either a feather or stick, (due to changes to spells recently, a book and bone have been added as wands) respectively. Mana is a bar on your UI, if you notice, that is maxed out at 150. Each spell costs a mana amount, and has a cooldown, considering the spell. Spells also cost memory, which details the amount of spells you have. Spells have a varying cost of memory, and can cost anywhere between 0-4. Memory is at a limit of 10. Note though, that memory and mana may be increased through multiple methods. Ask Jake for more info.
Worshiping the two dieties of the server, Thorodan and Seryn, may be rewarded, depending on the degree of worship. Note, sexual worship is encouraged. Role play is also encouraged. Worshiping usually means, sacrificing a item to the gods. The item sacrificed can have either a positive or a negative effect, depending on both amount and quality of said item. Sacrificing an item is usually just you telling a god, "Hey, I'm sacrificing my music disc to you.", then leaving it in a chest or altar. Then you spin around 4 times really fast, while hopping up and down, run outside your house, kill a random mob, then sprint back to your house, and viola! You music disc is gone, and the gods will grant you a wish! Simple.
Now, I know reading about this server and everything is tiring and w/e, boring, wanna build something already. Well, the main thing you need in this server, is dedication. The want to keep to the server, to help it expand, contribute your own unique blend of personality and roleplay to the growing world. Some of you wanna be hermits, and just build, and yadayadayada, but even though hermits are cool and all, we don't want a server full of them. Same goes for joining existing towns. If you come onto the server just to join, say, Solitude, so you can have instant access to Iron, you're missing out on so much of the server. The feeling of actually achieving for your town, for exploring and finding gold for research, that contribution and feeling that "I'm actually special, ohmahgerd.". This is pretty emotional for me, sorry. Anyways, go out, join a town, if you get killed in the wild by another player, don't just ragequit and leave the server, you're pretty much letting that guy laugh at you from behind his computer screen. Get back at him. Find him, and merc him back. Start a damn war. People will find that cool, exciting, join your town. And then, when you've wrecked the dude, laugh at him. Spam your Huehuehuehue at him. And you will feel like the champion of the damn universe.
Well, enough about the starter's guide. Don't do stupid stuff, go out, kill some stuff, pigs, zombies, people, w/e. Just go out, and experience the world of Isan in it's true form.
And don't be afraid to ask questions. Just avoid stupid ones.
MAP : Spy on your enemies with the all new "Dynamic Satellite". No longer will you have to actually find houses! Now you can instantly find houses in the wilderness, and rob them!
This guide may be extended, or subject to change, depending on the occasion.
Alright so, I've been on this server for a while now. I'm a nation leader, so I guess I'm a bit experienced with how it goes...
...This guide may be extended, or subject to change, depending on the occasion.
Scan, you have the strangest mix of wisdom and irreverence. Also, please don't be encouraging people to sexually worship the gods. Things will get really, Really awkward from then on out XD
