oh... any idea on what will definitly be on the server?

For one, there is a very high chance that the whole continent will be a race-against-race pvp-zone, and there will be several merchant caravans set up along the roads, where you can buy stuff that would normally be hard to get (eg. nether items, since nether will be hell in-game)

I am not sure if there will be classes, since they're not on my workload. We will try to get the colored tags for encounters, and we're having a boss mob plugin being developed.

Starting on the scenic parts of the video. So far, I've got 50 seconds done out of the 3:31 seconds.

I am sort of just using your post as a point of response to all of the posts about this idea about chat ranges and messengers.

I do really like the idea that OmNom proposed, having it take time to get information to certain places... the only problem wit this is that the world is very, very large and the amount of walking that someone would have to do is boredom central. I would like having messengers that have the task of carrying messages for the king to the outlying towns, but they would have to be supplied with either potions of swiftness or temporary flight of some kind.

Each race will have a jail of some kind (hopefully they won't be needed initially as we are not adding them to the cities right off the bat).

As for the chat, I am sure some of you have been on servers where there are "/ch" commands which I will have added to this server as well. For those of you that are not familiar with it, it goes something like this:

1) You start with the base command "/ch [chat]"
2) [chat] should be replaced with one of the following ( which can be short-cutted by only typing the first letter):
-Whisper: Allows up to 2 block speaking range
-Speak: Allows up to 10 blocks speaking range
-Yell: Allows up to 35 block speaking range

(More to come potentially as we feel the need for them)

I like your builds, but you should work on your curvature. I know its Minecraft, but they're a bit blocky. Look up the VoxelBox's Dynamic Building videos. Those might help.

Isn't there always /helpop, which sends a message to an Admin? I don't know whether or not it's part of Bukkit or onw of those command plugins, but anyways, y

You brought up a good point. Since you are the coder, you could make a limited Chat help command, (like /helpop) that has a cooldown or something (not counting /reply). Anyone know who/how many coders there are?

maybe so the messangers dont have to remember a big long messange for their king, u could have the messages put in books, and have each town have a "notice board" where the books can be placed, of course a plugin will have to be made so u can place written booksand for the video w/ the fighting, will we get to use bows? and will there be a script we have to follow? and again, can i be in the vid/beta test?

Count me in on this server, I would love to help build the dwemer kingdom.

I can't wait to be a part of this amazing server, and I will continue to wait for it's completion. I've been searching for a server like this for a very long time and I'm glad I found it. I wish you continued luck in the making of this server. You can count on me playing when it opens!

Still have to ask Tyrr and the guys if this would be allowed. You'll be in the video which I'll be posting on YouTube. UI will be disabled for me, so nothing except your skins and the environment will be visible, so be sure to get/make an appropriate skin! I'll look at them... but I wasn't really aiming for circles xD

I just realized that me building the spawn is absolutely pointless, as it will never actually be used for anything... *quiet sobs* oh well, I don't care that much. It was an interesting hour or three for me
When I get back to building dungeon rooms, is there anyone that you want me to PM them to in particular, since people don't appear to want them on here? And can I build dungeon rooms that occupy extra space (like a 32x32 space, as in a 2x2 of regular dungeon rooms melded into one)? That'd be helpful, because then I can build some more expansive parkour challenges with rewards and cheating buttons... I'd like that. Also, do all hallways have to be centered to the room, or can some be off to the side? Sorry if that question didn't make sense, I don't know how else to put it :PI'm currently working on a mini-boss battle involving an evil Minecart as the baddy and using dispensers to make him summon minions and shoot fireballs etc. I'm not having much success with it, but I'm trying! xD

That would be a great way for Couriers to transport messages!
Then messages could be "intercepted" and enemies could find out other people's plans.
Then, there would be sense in having Guards for a royal messenger!

When somebody starts a dungeon, it will select random rooms and create a dungeon about 12 rooms long with a doorway on each side of the room in the center if there's a room next to it.

Had a great idea.

What if the server splits itself into "Ages" or rounds. Each round would last a few weeks or a month, and during an "Age", each race would battle ot rise to be the greatest.

There would be certain requirements to be declared "The Dominant Race"
1)Kill all other kings, have control of the majority or all the towns in the Realm, and hold an armed force greater than any other races. (statistical) This would encourage paying taxes/supporting one's own Kingdom, and would create truly interesting interactions among players and other kingdoms. If the Elves are on the rise, conquering towns and gaining power, the Dwarves and Humans can ally together and fight against the Elves united.

Or the Elves, in order to crush their united power, can send "Assassins" to infiltrate their kingdoms and kill the enemy leaders.

2) another way to conquer would be to Gain the most wealth out of all the nations, hold the richest towns, and some other Economy related requirement.

Each winner of an age would be allowed to keep their lives, while all others are "purged" and sent to the Nether while a new "AGE" (clean, reset map) begins.

The problem with the ages idea is that a lot of people don't like all of their hard work being destroyed after a few weeks or months (no offense intended)

Sorry to say but I will be on leave for a bit due to real life, oh how I wish I could be in kirito's spot right now (check SAO if you don't have a clue what I'm saying), I expect to not take a active role for 2 weeks to 2 months. My hope is that the server production won't be delayed, Mnmaxon hopefully you can help?

I'd also like to play on this server once it starts. Preferably I would start as an elf, if there are too many, dwarves are also fine.

As for the limited range chat, I like the idea. It would be even better if there were no way whatsoever to communicate besides actually walking up to those people, as that would give a nice touch of realism. ( needing messengers, there being a use for long range redstone message relays)

maybe, for each "age"" when u die u could be trapped in nether? but when u spawn there it could give u supplies?
