Lets not get too ahead of ourselves now lol. Our team has only experienced 2 deaths so far since the beginning and we've killed over a thousand mobs so far. Good luck however, I'm sure soon we'll see who is ahead lol. I look forward to seeing you online.
You either slowly bleed to death from damage here and there without enough food or you just get owned by some random creeper or skeleton while lost in the deep caves.
This is a great server. I lasted for like 3 real life days without getting killed. But then I got lost in cave and jumped into a hole with like 50 creepers
But it was fine cause I had a bed and there was nothing on me except a pickax
Here's some solid advice that I just added to the original post.
Hardcore Team Building Tips:
Yes, working cooperatively with other competent players can give you a worth while advantage. Here are some tips to help you team up with complete strangers:
- The best way to earn trust is by helping someone.
- Take risks.
- Ask around. You may find a number of established players "looking for members to join them" just so they can draw you in and kill you with little effort. If you're new to the server, it's probably best to team up with others who are new to the server. You may want to gauge their skill level before doing so. If you've been playing a while, you should have some idea of who is already on a team and who or who not may be trusted.
- A good starting point is to team up with 2-3 others just to guard each other's backs and work together to clear out the deep caves. It's probably best however, to maintain different bases or at least different hidden stashes if you decide to defend a group shelter. Thus, there would be little benefit in betrayal. Greater trust can always be built up over time.
- Once you have an established team and a formidable team base, you're probably sharing most of your resources as a group. However, I still highly recommend that you agree to divide out the rare resources after each deep run and allow each member to hide their valuables in their own private stashes. These stashes should be well hidden and not simply 1-2 blocks into a wall somewhere in the base. This allows for the formation of large teams without the risk of losing your valuables to a betrayal. This sort of strategy also doubles as protection from losing your best stuff to a raid.
- For more advanced gameplay, use a voice chat service such as Skype or Vent. This will build trust very quickly.
Hardcore Base Building Tips:
Here's a few general tips for protecting your stash regardless of whether or not you choose to team up with others:
- This is a hardcore server. Eventually, your base will be found and it will be raided. Thus, don't go over the top decorating your base and making it look fancy. Focus on essential components of your base such as resource farms, storage, mine access, etc.
- Always hide your most valuable possessions.
- To protect from xray, your hidden chest needs to be completely covered on all sides. Smooth stone is recommended if it is underground.
- Always keep your hidden chest far away from access. Putting your chest 1-2 blocks behind a wall in your base is a waste of effort. A good raiding team will typically find your hidden chest even if it is several blocks deep. My personal recommendation is to keep your hidden chest a minimum of 5-10 blocks away from any part of your base or better yet, have it hidden somewhere outside of your base or in some part of your mine.
With these tips, you will be able to take risks and work as a team with others without losing all of your hard work. Goodluck!
Yes just found a jukebox in a creeper crater(with some other nice loot, thank you whoever left this, RIP) but this jukebox will be PERFECT to give away my base's location with some nice pleasent music if I can ever get a disc.
My god....DrNova.... was sniped right infront of us 0_0....he was talking one second...next second dead. Prob one of the coolest things happened. DrNova and I decided to make a neutral desert town where tribes can go to trade. We built a couple of nights with NO problems, taking care of mobs pretty easily. More of my tribe came and helped build town more...till one night. It was raining, for about a day and into the night. We killed a zombie like normal...but it spawnened two, those two spawned two, and so on and so on til about 15 zombies 0_o. We ran into town thinking we would be safe, THE ZOMBIES OPENED THE DOOR! We had an all out brawl of survial, no where to run but fight...and we made it with no casualties. The battle ended and it was a few hours till sunrise. Then snortellini yelled "Skele!" I type it in minecraft seeing it on the wall. Then the skele disseapered, DrNova said he couldn't see, snortellini and I looked around and couldn't find it either so we all went into the village glad we survived. Then a single arrow shot was heard, and DrNova exploded goodies everywhere. It was an amazing experience, def. going to build higher walls now. And those who find this netural town in the future...never forget...never forget the battle of Trader's Post...

Lol, this sounds epic!
The battle of Trader's Post.... Civilization vs Server.
Axes have 50% critical chances giving them higher base damage on average vs swords.
However, only swords are eligible for the various weapon enchantments that are available, making them a far better choice once you've gained some levels and have developed your enchanting. Swords also have a 5% critical chance in addition to the new 1.0.0 critical strike additions to jump attacks.
Bow damage has not been altered and still benefits from critical shots when fully charged.
I have not confirmed yet which enchantments actually work on this server. I do believe all of the damage and protection related enchantments should work as normal. I am not so sure about the tool enchantments though. I will post an update once the various enchantments have been tested during gameplay.
Downtowndavis
And I should have reworded that. We are probably ONE of the most well set up groups XD
there is a lit up ravine that we edited to house a city without having monsters spawn
Challenge Accepted ^^
I'm game too.
- Lolness
The Nether is now accessible as well. Beware of Pig Zombies. They have some of the best mob drops in the game, but are quite lethal.
Rip that stone pic i made.. -lolness
That's usually how it goes.

Giving a major thanks to our admins for hosting and running this lol, have had an amazing experience so far!

Hope more people visit this place, if you've played pandemonium and haven't visited Exile you sir, are missing out.
- Nether eh... :biggrin.gif: sounds like a challenge.Oh and new post for new topic..
Would anyone want Exile to have a mumble server? Admins do you want to host one? :wink.gif:
Other than that.. Good luck!
I definitely like the idea of a server-based Vent or Mumble, but I won't be hosting it. If anyone else would like to volunteer, let me know.
