This server has the potential to be a good server, but there are a few thing stopping it. the immaturity of the people that play on this server. the fact that the rules aren't clear enough which intern, lead to arguments. and the fact that 90% of the time the there are two factions that just dominate. plus i would hardly call this a "faction" server when raiding is "frowned upon and discouraged". personally i wouldn't waste your time.
This server is all about building a peaceful nation, if you like pvp than i would suggest you look elsewhere.
A shame I must leave,
I regret it is so.
I'll try not to grieve,
however now I must go.
Farewell
There currently is, and always will be plenty of PvP in Halcyon. Most factions wish that legitimate reasons are made prior to declaring war attacking another faction. The fact that your faction attacked on multiple fronts and then lasted less than a day before being conquered should show you to not wake the sleeping lions.
Furthermore, on Saturday night there was a 6 hour coordinated attack on a different faction because they decided to blow up portions of multiple factions' resources and infrastructure.
Truth is Halcyon can be a complex economic, political, and nation building server. It is probably not for everyone, but I would like to think there is a place for everyone in Halcyon.
Hello readers of the Halcyon thread. I have found it interesting that KJGinger has posted a few political terms on the forum, the Treaty of Adriapoli and The Adriapoli convention.
Treaty of Adriapoli (Terms of Truce)
"a suspension of hostilities for a specified period of time by mutual agreement of the warring parties cease-fire; armistice"
The length of this truce is indefinite, lasting until an open understanding by the leaders of both factions agree to reinitiate combat. The terms of the truce are negotiable by both parties, but the proposed are as follows:
- Both Parties shall henceforth withdraw from combat - Neither Party shall seek to in any way disadvantage the other - Both Parties shall gift the other with an attractive building that both parties agree to be of equal value - Both Parties shall allow for claimed Embassy either inside, or bordering the other's land - Both factions shall reopen trade with one another - Both factions shall attempt to be pleasant to one another when in chat
The Adriapoli Convention (Rules of Engagement) "The immutable rules to which both parties will hold themselves during times of War"
Once agreed to, these rules are binding, and continuous. To break them is to induce the wrath of all other followers of these terms.
- Extensive destruction of property not justified by military necessity is forbidden - Logging out when combat is imminent or to avoid allowing access to one's base is forbidden - If an individual is accused of a crime against a faction, an impartial judge will hear the case, and allow the individual's leader to discipline - Collective punishment based on the actions of an individual is forbidden
The politics and diplomacy that seems to be being inspired has been part of my dream in creating a server for a while now, and it is happy to see my work coming to fruition. I suggest all factions on the server refer to this thread at: http://halcyon.invis...-of-engagement/ so that you may respond to his terms. It is important that we create a world of dynamic nations that can easily contact each other to establish diplomatic relationships. Please note the rules above are not necessarily those of the server that can result in punishments by the server staff, but rather rules made by the community to dictate what they each will and will not allow.
In other news I have completed the third dungeon in the Treasure Hunt. There are several puzzles included on this one that have not been included in the previous dungeons so it is important you know you must have completed the ones prior to even understand what the puzzles are saying.

It's a lie!
Ballistic, if you are to use another person's poetry, you must properly cite it...
