SO on Monday I have a tech coming from my current ISP. They upgraded their towers to offer new speeds in my area. If all works out I'll have UP TO 15mbps! Laugh if you will ;p but it's 5x better than what I have now...so with some luck I'll be connected bettter in a few days!
I'm in too much of a valley to get the signal from the upgraded tower. The tower I've been on is not upgrading BUT...they are building a new one this summer. That one will be in range and upgraded for the higher speeds.
Heh...a few more months of this crap....hopefully only a few more :/
Hang in there. Someday you will experience the modern marvels of civilized society - running water, indoor plumbing, microwave ovens and interwebs, compliments of inventor Al Gore. We're all rooting for ya.

Hahahaha. Your wit is as sharp as ever, Dirt. Anyway, good to hear, Angie.
The HMS DogBreath finally has lift and thrust - I finally resolved myself to sit down and finish making the balloons and engines for the airship. She's a magnificent flying tub, if I say so myself. Swing by the St. Chien airport to catch a peek of her splendid glory before I sail off for adventures untold.
Got on to look around, there's some cool stuff there. I think I might build some things of my own, but it'll be a while until I do anything interesting, school and such.
Initially I thought the same, but as you know the color is never what it is supposed to be with stained clay, so I went with wool. None of the stained clay colors looked good in the floor. It was terrible.

I understand the color issue, but I've never let that deter me. I was never a supporter of using wool blocks for buildings, even before stained clay existed. Maybe that's the one area where practicality stands in my way.
Well activity on the server seems to have slowed quite a bit over the couple months I haven't been on much. How long have we been on this map now? Over a year I'm pretty sure. As always I know we've all invested a lot of time on builds and whatnot, but I would like to re-propose that it is time for a new map again, even though that will not really solve activity levels in the long-run as usual. But at least it would prevent the server from just suffering a prolonged death of stagnation.
Work has shifted into high gear, with the added bonus that a couple folks quit/moved on to greener pastures leaving me with plenty of flights and work to do by my lonesome and not a lot of time to play. I'll be back eventually... I hope.
Otherwise I still standby my first request I made the time it was first presented - that if and when a restart occurs that my boat and catherdral makes the jump with us. I can't bear thinking having to build that stuff all over again. It makes my mouse hand twitch and hurt just thinking about it.

Oh, so you're extra busy now? Ah, well... I may be starting a new job in a few weeks, so I will not be around much anymore either, not that I have been around a whole lot lately and despite the fact that I am once again calling for a new map. People move on to other games or other servers and life gets in the way, etc. Who knows, maybe Angie will think it's time to shut the server down or maybe she'll think that is too dramatic.
As for your airship and the cathedral, if we ever do start a new map, Angie has already made it abundantly clear that she's never moving builds again, so oh well. Here's to whatever is or is not next!
Well I guess Pancake and Hundred Acre Wood are no more. St. Chien is the last town. Dunno if Dirt will want to just scrap it. I guess Towny was a fun ride while it lasted, but I suppose it comes back to the fact that I have even all this time still supported. Towns are dumb. Back to making lazy attempts to finish my island I guess. My unofficial Stone Shop is still open to select clients, if anyone wants to place some orders for (smooth) stone, or related variants. I've got 54 double chests worth, but once it's gone, it's gone and no more orders will be accepted. Act now!
I still like Towny. Being able to claim up plots and not have monster spawn there has enabled my villagers to thrive... Well to stay alive anyway, and not having to worry about zombies and spiders sneaking up on me while I whistle while I work is nice.
I can make use of plenty of smooth stone for the remaining work I need to do on the catherdral, just hard to make it on lately as I am getting swamped with work. One person left for greener pastures, another quit leaving only two of us left. I've been flying my ass off and scraping up against my maximum allowable flight times for each period. Something's got to give soon, I can't keep giving 110%. Hope they bring some fresh meat...err new blood on board soon. Then I can return to being a bum at least two days a week.
Yeah, having mobs despawn when they cross the border of town is nice. If you want any of my smooth stone for building stuff for town, then it's free, since I don't really need the money. Sorry to hear that so many people have left your company and you're having to pick up so much of the slack. As for the 110%, just remember what Ron Swanson said, "Give 100%. 110% is impossible. Only idiots recommend that."

Aye, she's a fine airship indeed.
Got on to look around, there's some cool stuff there. I think I might build some things of my own, but it'll be a while until I do anything interesting, school and such.
Well welcome then, and hopefully we'll run into each sometime.

The outpost at wild 3 looks really nice, but I think stained clay would go better with the stone slabs, than wool, for the floor.

I live right next to the original spawn. o.o
