Why I created this server,
I'll keep this short.
I have searched very thoroughly over the past week for a decent vanilla server where I can enjoy minecraft the way I did back in the old vanilla server days. I have been through every 'anarchy' and 'vanilla' server advertised in the forums, and found that none of them provide a true vanilla playstyle.
Here are the problems I encountered:
Non-persistent worlds - The server owners are known for server wipes, changes, and other activities that discourage anyone from enjoying a permanent presence on their server.
"Pay to win" anarchy - Servers that sell permanent armor and tools or offer other advantages to those willing to pay.
Item-spawning - Server operators abuse their item-spawning abilities to provide advantages for themselves and their friends.
Mods - Although these are somewhat acceptable on 99% vanilla servers, many of the mods completely ruined the continuity of the game. These included spawn area portals and other add-ins. Some 'Vanilla' servers are modified so terribly that it is clear they are only using the 'Vanilla' tag to attract players.
Because I could not find a single server that is truly an anarchy, vanilla, persistent server, I was forced to create my own.
Essentially, this server will provide players to provide the opportunity to enjoy minecraft in the single-player fashion, but with the multiplayer element that will allow them to engage in conflicts and friendships if they desire. There are no map limits, so it is completely possible to wander far away and play in isolation for as long as you desire.
The spawn area will no doubt be a very chaotic, violent place, so tread carefully until you are far away enough to create a bed. If you're lucky, you will find friends who will help you get established.
I hope this will recapture that feeling from when minecraft was in development. You would wander a lonely world, and explore amazing wilderness - but you would always wonder 'am I really alone'?
