Are donations required for certain perks? I recently started playing minecraft online just this week. The server i chose was a mistake, in order to do certain things or to gain access to certain items you have to donate a certain amount which kinda put me off.
And lastly, i have a project in mind. I like to build medieval style things. Infact i want to build a castle, not a huge one but fairly large =P so is it just a case of finding a place far away and just building? Or are there certain guidelines which i must follow?

Donations are purely voluntary and you are not really penalised in any way whilst playing as a non-donator. There are however certain perks that come with donation as a thank you to people who help keep the server alive by helping out.
A full list of perks can be found here - as well as all the donation information.
The server is build/survival and ranks are gained through building and helping others. Most people start off by building a small but detailed starter home to gain the first rank and a couple of helpful perks that come with it such as magic carpet and teleportation which makes larger projects more manageable.
There is a huge amount of space available for building large projects, you can use the Livemap to find large areas of free land.
Most importantly there are lots of players on hand who will go out of their way to help you get started and set up and to have a good time on Mine Resort.

he forgot: you can protect your own builds (very smart idea ;))
if youre a good builder, you will rank up very fast and then u can enjoy some perks.

i didnt grief anything just some woods from my friends house but my friend is online and he allow me to break them actually im helping him to rebuild his house.

Griefing, while A friend and I were building, we heard sheep dying, we went to our farm to see someone killing our anials and destroying our farm, we were pretty mad, as we spent the last 3 hours building it, we then went to his house, he wasent even + yet, and took parts of his home down, out of rage.
Do you admit fault? Yes, I shouldnt of acted the way I did, but I do not want to loose the work I put in the server.
Why should you be unbanned? I was currently veteran, and that day I build a large farm, with animals, cactus, wheat, sugar cane, and even a bakery,along with my 3 story house.
Any other information: I will pay for the damages done to his house, as I acted in a way I shouldnt have, I have apologised to errer and pro, but then got my ban, again, sorry.

In the same day you got banned, earlier, i warned you that if you grief again you will get into trouble, You didnt even talk to me with respect when i told you to repair the damage, but good you did.
But later that day, he killed 1 sheep , maybe few, and you and your friend decided to grief his whole house he was working hard for, just beacause of sheep,you should of just call one of the mods to see what he does, and belive me we would help, but you decided griefing is always the "best" choice.
So you disrespect, and grief beacause of a sheep, why would you get unbanned? those are not a veteran actions.
You will get a week tempban, and a demotion to nicebuilder.
About your friend, he needs to open unban appeal himself.

My friend, TYrow42, just texted me that he was banned from the server for griefing. My IGN is rjbdam666. He told me that someone said that he griefed one of my old houes that I dont use anymore. He told me that someone else griefed it, and honestly, I dont care that the house was damaged. I gave him permission IRL that he could damage the house, so, yeah. I would like to have my friend unbanned, but thats up to you guys. My house was on road 10 if it matters. I'd post the coords, but I'm on my iPad, and don't know the coordinates. I ended up fixing it. Almost forgot to say that my friend doesn't have a forum account so he cant post a ban appeal or anything :/

I was griefing in to house, one i stole the brewing stand, but i felt bad so i put then back, and another one, i was too stupid enough that i forgot i can use warps and i got trapped in a small house that i couldn't get out of so i broke some blocks that were unclaimed but still apart of the house.
Any other information: I love this server, I hate all the other servers where people grief you just because you are a noob and you built a nice house.I know you really worked so hard on this server and im deeply sorry, i won't do it ever again.
