Current Point Leader [Clan] : Nobody!
--------------------------------------------- Have you ever wanted to play Minecraft in a competitive, Player versus Player environment? Have you ever wanted to see how you, or you clan, stack[s] up personally against other Minecraft players around the world? League of Warfare is your chance to unleash your inner warlord, in a comprehensive battle of wits, will, and power. It is the first attempt by Valerius Maximus to create a league with rankings which accurately represent the PVP skill of the Minecraft Community.
---------------------------------------------
League of Warfare will:
- Be a [mostly] vanilla Minecraft PVP server, with a widespread but in depth focus on managing all types of encounters.
- Be administrated by the player base [There will be dedicated admin staff as well, however] through an appeal/proof system.
(In order to promote the best possible experience for all of our general users, we will have administrators and moderators who have the power to enforce the rules through the use of kicks and bans. These powers will be used at the administrators' discretion, and all administrator decisions are final. If one breaks the rules, or is thought to have broken the rules, they will be removed from the server in the most appropriate way.)
- Be open to both individual players as well as PVP clans in order to meet the needs of a wide variety of players.
---------------------------------------------
Rules:
- One must behave in a manner that is both responsible and respectable towards others as well as oneself. Do not troll, spam, insult, threaten, or otherwise harm others with your words. Racial or Sexual slurs may result in immediate administrative action with no chance of reprieve depending on their severity.
- One must not discredit or complain about legitimate Player vs. Player interaction.
- One must not give oneself an unfair advantage in comparison to other players. This rule therefore directly forbids the use of Client Modifications, Client Hacks, Texture Pack Exploits, and Out of Game Client Glitches.
- One who has been banned may have the chance to appeal depending on the validity of the evidence displayed against them.
- One must keep their personal information secure and out of Minecraft at all times.
- Administrators are restricted to only: /tp /kick and /ban, all other commands are forbidden and will result in immediate removal of all administrator privilege.
---------------------------------------------
Regulations:
While LoW seeks to provide players with a mostly un-hindered PVP experience (when it comes to Wilderness PVP), a few basic regulations must be put in place to ensure that anarchy does not ensue:
- Do NOT Spawn Camp; Spawn Camping is defined as purposely waiting outside of spawn in order to kill those who leave its protection. As a general rule of thumb, remain at least 50 blocks clear of spawn when killing.
- Do NOT Combat Log; Combat Logging is defined as purposely logging out of Minecraft in the middle of a fight with another player. A fight does not have to be agreed upon to be considered a fight. Taking any damage dealt by another player and logging out is combat logging.
If evidence is presented against you that shows you performing either of these actions, you will be issued a temporary ban.
---------------------------------------------
League of Warfare will feature many different PVP concepts, all of which [if you so desire], will count towards your overall ranking on the League Score/Leaderboard. These include, but are not limited to:
- Player vs. Player arena based combat (1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 5v5, unarmed, ranged, magic, etc.)
- Clan vs. Clan arena based combat (Capture the Flag, King of the Hill, Last Man Standing, etc.)
- Player vs. Player & Clan vs. Clan wilderness combat
- Hired Gun Games (Assassination, Mercenary, Information Launderer, etc.)
- Random Events & Server Based Quests (To Be Announced)
Good servers take money to run. League of Warfare is a project that many of us have wanted to create and sponsor for a long time, however have not had the resources to do so, and still do not. Administrating, programming, and supporting a whole server is not only a difficult task, but it is very costly. Donations and other forums of contribution are not only greatly appreciated, but very important for the future of the server. Eventually LoW Hopes to reach a point where the player base is so large, that the server pays for itself. ANY donation, from $1 to $100, will help immensly. Such kindness will not go unnoticed.
Minecraft Username: Sainton Age: 19 Time Zone: GMT What brings you to this server? I participated in another ONA run server called Lavish Brutality. I'm looking for a PvP server that encouraged PvP, but stays closely to Vanilla. Hopefully this server will work out. I'm excited to play on it. Do you agree to uphold the rules and regulations? Yes. What is your PVP Experience? I've been playing off and on since Alpha, and I've played on multiple PvP servers.
-------------------
Clan Application
Clan Name: The Protectorate Number of Members: 7 Leader[s]: Sainton A brief description of your clan: The Protectorate has always been a hard working clan, filled with experienced PvPers. Though in the past and present it's seen fluctuation, we've always persevered. We're looking for a new home.
What brings you to this server? I am a server reviewer and would like to help get servers out to the people!
Do you agree to uphold the rules and regulations? Yes
What is your PVP Experience? I have ruled a clan called "The Romans" we were 25 members strong and we have once defended ourselves against a 57 member strong clan, Using tactics and basic fortifications we managed to only have 8 losses in the battle. Unfortunately we disbanded.
I totally freaked and thought you were the man himself for a second.
A brief description of your clan: Potato PvP is a clan, as the name suggests that only does pvp. We are all pretty old, so we wont come on swearing lke heck. We wan't to join this server, as after reading your wonderful "Art of War" thread, I have been waiting for a server where I could try these tactics. As I myself is a server owner, I understand how annoying it is to log on and find the server meticuously greifed, so we promise not to do this to your terrain. I hope you accept us,
Potato PvP
What brings you to this server? Well Moose_460 posted a linkie on Markham armed forces (My clan) which directed me here, and atleast some in my clan would want to try the server out. So I wanted to just whitelist/register now and be able to play on the server with my clan (hopefully) when the server comes out.
Do you agree to uphold the rules and regulations? Yes, I have.
What is your PVP Experience? I have been in alot of clans recent ones been Semper Novum, Ghastholes, Phoenix reborn and Markham, I have played alot MCPVP and been playing MCCTF. And just hanging out with friends online just raiding minor bases.
What brings you to this server: To play a (mostly) vanilla server that encourages teamwork and battles.Such as building, fighting, and so on.
Do you agree to uphold the rules and regulations: Yes I do.
What is your PvP expieriance: Playing with around 5 different people while having fun together.Fighting in skirmishes such as 2v2 or a team vs team of around 5 people.
(side note)I will not get on much for I have school and like to focus on that, and I enjoy to read books,Such as The Inheritance Cycle series. So with this in mind. It might be better for you to choose some other applicant if you have a limited space server and it is white-listed. Just keep this in mind.

Mm the last Inheritance book was good.

I loved the last book.So many secrets unvealed that were previously surrounded by mist.Oh, how I wonder still if he might make an epilouge of Eragon training the next generation of riders!Anyways off topic, but thank you for replying.
(Have you read the Pendragon series? They are very scrumpious.)
If I planned on playing (minecraft mind you, not just this server), I would donate for a head start. But maybe not if there's a regular map and inventory wipe. Maybe a donator reward could be to escape one wipe?
There are a few things (as in a whole bunch) that I disagree with that are being talked about on this thread.
Just as a disclaimer, I'm not trying to insult anybody by disagreeing with them.
Firstly... It is my firm belief that any sort of donator benefits should not directly effect the final point totals in any way...
As in... no "10% extra points".
Also... I'm really hoping we can agree that a monthly map/inventory wipe would be beneficial towards cultivating fair, balanced, and frequent PVP. It removes the attatchment to ones base that one harbors if they remain in it too long, and therefore allows groups to take greater risks more often. PVP where each group hides underground for weeks on end in an undiscoverable base is not fun. Trust me, we've all been there...
Also... resetting the points would go against everything that I've been trying to build as far as a PVP League. Leagues have established rankings and rating systems, and people who remain in the system for longer have more accurate data collected on them because they have remained in the system for longer. I'm not against having weekly, and monthly leaderboards that refresh every once in a while... but I think what most people will want to strive for is a spot on the "All Time" leaderboards, as that is where the legends will be made. You guys are thinking in terms of Lavish Brutality and Project Art of War, which was ok back in the day, but PVP has evolved, and I think it's time to take it to the next level. Think of it like the MLB or the NFL of Minecraft PVP, that's what I'm trying to cultivate.
I can understand if you disagree with me, but I figure I'd put this out there so we can discuss it further... I'm going to be writing a rather long document summarizing all of the types of events that I'd like the server to offer, and posting it here eventually.
Until then... sorry for the wall of text, but there are many more to come. There are a few things (as in a whole bunch) that I disagree with that are being talked about on this thread.

The all-time league sounds like a good idea.
There should be a monthly league - winner gets a reward (medium value)
weekly league - winner gets a reward (low value)
then a all time where 'legends are made'.
For donators, I am in favor on giving them XP. XP farms are a long boring slog of killing mobs. By paying money they can support the server and be rewarded? I think that giving this instead of items is fair.
Do you agree to uphold the rules and regulations?: Yep.
What is your PVP Experience?: Im good at PvP, I just havent found nice PvP servers to stay on. So I would really appreciate to get to join League of Warfare. :biggrin.gif:

Possible Ideas;
- Head start of 12 hours.
- A map of the area.
- Prefix/colour on their name.
- Statue of them.
I was also thinking about clans. Their should be some other initiatives to play besides PVP.
Quest's? Or challenges to complete.
Other topic is 'The End'
Once the dragon is dead it is finished. Maybe renew it every week or time it is slayed.
That is all for now.
