October 21st (this Sunday) at 10 AM PST/ 1 PM EST, two infamous pirate ships and their crews will meet to battle in the Haunted Bay. Since Halloween is rapidly approaching, this will be our first Halloween-themed event. There will be working cannons, boarding parties and loot. Lots and lots of loot.
A couple notes:
All equipment will be provided. No outside items or donator powers allowed during the event.
Each ship will have crews of four players.
There will be several objectives and rules for each round that will be explained the day of the event.
To enter the battle, post the following in this topic (one post per crew):
Name of your ship
Names of all four players in your crew
While it is not required to enter prior to playing, teams that do post will start with a very slight advantage in each round. See you all on Sunday!
I've played on Republica for a little over a year now, and even when I take breaks from Minecraft, the first thing I do is come back to Republica. This server has a great staff, a awesome community, and loads of fun things to do! Best SMP experience I've ever had!
Republica is honestly the best server I've played on, I started playing on June 20th. Right away the staff and players were nice and helpful. I've played for about 5 months now and I still love this server.

i've been told this server has a better feel then a Etho's server, this server is greatly well rounded. the staff are the most helpful atleast 1-2 staff members online, the pvp is great to be in, sometimes mini pvp storms start randomly, there towny on this server and there is many towns, theres always an event going on, or atleast posted on the forums....many great builders and redstone gods....come to republica....the greatest server in minecraft
My time on this server has been amazing. The staff are all friendly and responsive, and the players form a great community. The server has events frequently, which add to an already overwhelmingly great experience. I have never played on another server that is better or equivalent to Republica.

Finding this server was probably the best thing to happen to me, I was bored one day and was flipping through MCF Survival servers, and randomly clicked something like page 48(was there at the time). I joined because I really wanted a server to play on since I had just returned from a long break from minecraft (played MC since mid-alpha stage).
I joined and it was very easy because the wonderful staff members and even the regular players aided me in the process, since i was new to Minecraft servers. I was new to all the basic plugins but this server's incredibly helpful forums led me to understand the plugin commands better and acted as a great resource for playing. Now, you see, back then I had no skill in building (my first house was a three story dirt box), but through the generosity of the players here i have developed a skill in building!
The staff are also great because they keep the server under control, and still give one freedom to talk as they please. If someone is going crazy and attacks you on your personal life, they do a great job at getting rid of the problem, and from what i see, they only ban when it's fair and never just because they don't like somebody.
You, the reader of this post, should absolutely join this server. Here on Republica, you aren't just another player, you are a member of a community of very friendly people and great players. I can assure you, you will make many new in game friends from all over the world! From what I know we have people from Finland. France, the Netherlands, Sweden, Canada, and The U.S.A. playing here, I'm sure that's just a few of the many ethnic groups we have on Republica, I personally joined because the people are friendly, the staff is fun, the events are fun, they towns look great, and because it is so diverse!
