JayCraft starting a new season!
Hey, we'd like to hereby announce that JayCraft is starting a new season in 1.19 and we're inviting new players to come on.
Our setup is pretty basic and have worked well for us thus far. We're running a vanilla experience but we do have a few datapacks installed. Our game style is pretty much your average "Hermitcraft" SMP experience with shops, farms, events and such organised organically by us as a community. We have a variety of different game and build styles on the server so we're definitely looking to get some more variation into that as well.
Besides that we pride ourselves in being a very friendly and open minded community, we're welcoming to anyone no matter what background you have.
Applying for membership
In order to apply for membership on the server we require you to fill in a form telling us a little about yourself just to make sure we're a good match for each other!
What is your main style of playing?
What is your building style?
What are you looking for in an SMP?
Any other hobbies or interests outside of Minecraft?
Datapacks
Multiplayer sleep - Only one player have to go to bed for night to be reset
Anti-Enderman Grief - They can destroy contraptions, let make them not do that!
Player heads drop - Players drop head upon death!
More mob heads - Mobs drop heads upon death!
Armor statues - Make armor stances into beautiful statues
Silence Mobs - Use a name tag to silence mobs (good for farms)
What timezone are we playing?
Server is hosted in Europe but we're open for players all around the world. We would like it if people are active during different times since it's always nice to wake up to new things on the server. But please come on in to our Discord and socialise a bit. We're all about making friendships and forging a strong community.
Rules?
We're going for a as few rules as possible sort of an approach which is also why we value people coming on our Discord and socialising and getting to know each other before the season starts. Trust is everything for us so we hope you think the same.
No griefing
No hacking
Be friendly
When do we start?
Starting as soon as 1.19.1 is out! Reason being that there's still a few bugs that we're concerned about and we think this would improve the experience dramatically for all players if we wait until 1.19.1!
Q&A
How long is a planned "season"?
A season goes on for as long as we decide it goes for but the general guidelines have been that we run a season until next update. We usually aim for the 1.X.1 update were there's been some bug fixes and such for a smoother experience.
Do you offer a world download at the end of the season to your members?
Yes.
Are any server events "mandatory"?
No, while we do organise server events like for example killing the Ender dragon or similar they're not mandatory. We're going for a more relaxed and laid back play style.
Are camera accounts allowed? And/or Freecam (like what Doc uses)?
Yes, camera account and freecam is allowed!
Are communal farms allowed?
Yes. Communal farm as allowed but not enforced. It is up to whomever builds a farm to decide if they want to share it or not. In previous seasons the enderman XP farm have been pretty much 100% communal and people have added anvils, library and enchantment tables and such as they saw it fitting and even stocked up with lapiz. But again, there's no enforcement of communal farm.
Is there a world border, and if so how large?
Yes, there's a world border but it's sat at default max size. There's millions of blocks to explore if you so like but please be considerate of chunk generation for lag reasons.
Are players free to build where they want? Can they claim space for their build?
Essentially people are allowed to build wherever they want but we tend to respect each other and not build too close to others bases without first asking if it's OK. Again, we don't enforce anything but being friendly and practicing courtesy.
Is the world seed known to players? Or kept secret to keep things interesting? And do you pick the seed, or go random?
The world seed is known. It's fairly easy to calculate the world seed by exploring the bedrock either way. I pick a seed and have tended to go towards something similar to a large island sort of spawn region but you are free to roam around as you please.
Do you pregenerate chunks?
Yes, we pregenerate an area of 10 000 blocks in a radius around 0, 0!
do you use the full hermitcarft data packs, do you use the status mod and where is the server hosted
What is your main style of playing?
I mainly like to build and find ways to automate getting certain resources. Adventuring too I guess but would be more fun in a group.
What is your building style?
I don't have one building style I build whatever pops in my head so it can vary.
What are you looking for in an SMP?
Mostly to meet adult players and be part of a community
Any other hobbies or interests outside of Minecraft?
I playin a band, and sim race. also stream a bit
Hi, Araibonce!
I've updated the original post a bit. But I think we're pretty much using the whole Hermitcraft datapack. Are you refering to the AFK status datapack?
You sound like a good fit for this server. We're all about getting to know each other and creating friendships as we think that makes a much better community!
We also do a bit of streaming and you'd be welcome to stream from our server if you'd like to!

the status mod is a server and client based fabric mod used on hermitcraft
Been playing since Alpha, primary playstyle is...somewhat mixed? I like to build, but also like designing resource farms that are sized for the specific need, rather than mega farms. I do tend towards redstone implementation in my builds, but nothing too crazy.
I also like designing community 'things', from shops and minigames, even the occasional story "quest". I also like finding ways to encourage people to explore what others have built.
What is your building style?
I tend towards semi-fantasy / medieval for the majority of my builds, but have dabbled in modern as the build demands.
What are you looking for in an SMP?
A group to play with and get to know. I had been a member of the Crown server for 8 years before it closed down due to slowly losing players over the years. While I still chat with some of the friends I made on Crown, they have moved on from minecraft, so I'm looking for another group to join.
In the few months since the Crown closed, I tried getting into single player, but I find that building in single player where people can't see my builds, or occasionally stop by and do a quick collaborative task, lessens the experience and joy in building. Even if no one ever stopped by my build the knowledge that someone "could" see it is enough to encourage me to keep building, and I love the feeling of the world changing over time and seeing what others are doing.
I do like some of that datapacks the Hermits use, specifically single player sleep and no enderman griefing. Mob heads are nice too.
Any other hobbies or interests outside of Minecraft?
I'm a busy dad, husband, front end developer, and flight sim enthusiast.
Now, my questions:
- How long is a planned "season"? The last server I played was a permanent world that started in beta, which allowed a certain benefit of tackling LARGE projects in SMP. (I'll have to get used to seasonal format, and plan projects accordingly)
- Do you offer a world download at the end of the season to your members, so they can save their builds?
- Are any server events "mandatory"? I'm US based, work full time, have kids, etc, as such my schedule is somewhat unpredictable, and real life is the priority.
- Are camera accounts allowed? And/or Freecam (like what Doc uses)
- Are communal farms allowed, or do they tend towards "this person built the stacking raid farm, so he sells all the emeralds", or a mix of the two?
- Is there a world border, and if so how large?
- Are players free to build where they want? Can they claim space for their build?
-Is the world seed known to players? Or kept secret to keep things interesting? And do you pick the seed, or go random?

Completely understand your situation. I am a father myself so that should be no problems! I've updated the original post with a Q&A section! Let me know if you're still interested!
I am a builder. I have been building in Minecraft since 2010. I have so much experience creating towns and villages. I worked on an SMP last year and created an enormous village but the server died so I am looking for a new community with dedicated players.
What is your building style?[/b]
I have made modern style village themed worlds. I have created a beach theme. I tend to stick to similar color schemes (spruce with stone bricks) etc. But, I can accommodate any style.
What are you looking for in an SMP?[/b]
I am looking for people to create and build alongside with. I love working on projects and builds together. It is fun to chat over discord and stream with.
Any other hobbies or interests outside of Minecraft? [/b]I am a mechanical engineer in my day job which is why I have a passion for building. I currently build aircraft parts for fighter planes haha. Pretty cool.

Sound like you could be a great fit for our server then! We're definitely in it for the long run
I enjoy playing in general but I do enjoy building very much!
What is your building style?[/b]
Medieval I guess but I enjoy trying new things and finding new inspiration! Would like to explore and experiment with other types!

Just looking for a group to play Minecraft with. Would love to be a part of a tight-knit community and create new friendships along the way! I'm 24 and life sucks so it'll be nice to have a nice server to play on to get my mind off of that LOL.

All right, I'll bite
What is your main style of playing?
Redstone and farms, mostly. But more on the side of "here's something cool for survival minecraft", as opposed to Scicraft dimensions.
What is your building style?
Efficient, lag friendly, compact, robust
Externally, I just do what looks nice to me. Can't pinpoint a specific style.
What are you looking for in an SMP?
A relaxed, laid back community to have fun with. Hoping for a somewhat mature crowd (family man myself).
Any other hobbies or interests outside of Minecraft?
Family, nutrition/health, music, books (SciFi/Fantasy).
Sound great to me! I'll have an invite to our Discord sent over
